I find that every bartender can make this but not every bartender can make it well. This one was made well! We were there on steak night. I ordered the ribeye. The steak was huge and cooked exactly the way I like it! I was bummed that they were out of baked potatoes because they looked great. I got French fries instead. They were good. I also got a salad which was a nice salad that I enjoyed very much. We were told the onion rings were really good so we got a side of those and they were right. Fantastic! I also tried the crab pretzel which was really good and unlike any pretzel I ever had. I am told everything here is good and I believe it. On Friday nights they have a prime rib special and someone in my group said it's the best prime rib she ever had! Get here early, this place gets packed!

Well we were very glad we listened to their recommendation. I will preface this review with, get here early to ensure you get the full special as this place gets busy quick and with good reason. So now onto the real review, this was going to be a 4 star review. As the place is really a bar with 2 pool tables and loose tables and chairs. The bar area is pretty large considering, and the bartenders ( 3 ) were pretty busy the whole time we were there. So as you can imagine it took awhile to get drinks at first. And this is what gave this place the 5th star. The person behind the grill is pretty darn good. I always order my steak medium... not medium rare, not rare with singed outsides, and not medium well... As you can probably imagine by now I am very picky about my steaks. To say I really was expecting the worst. Well to my surprise my steak came out cooked perfectly.... Now to me this is a very rare occasion... i have eaten at very expensive restaurants and had to send a steak back 3 times.... So if you are looking for some pretty darn good food, this should be on your radar.

There were 5 of us, we had the cheese curds (always delicious), tried the crab nachos (surprisingly good) as apps. Ordered the crab soup. I was expecting more of a cream crab soup but that was my fault as it wasn't listed as such and it's a reddish sauce kind of a minestrone with the veggies in it. We ordered shrimp and grits, I was told it was good with a little spice. Two of us ordered the salmon with crab/corn risotto (delicious). Mac and cheese ordered from apps menu, but as meal and the last meal was a pasta chicken dish. Great experience again!

The deviled eggs were deep-fried with a little jalapeño on top--absolutely excellent! The wings were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and had a fantastic flavor with just the right amount of heat. We then split a burger and fries. The burger was a little overdone for my liking, but it still had an amazing flavor. The fries were decent and paired well with the burger. We also each had a cocktail--the Peach Mule and the Key Lime Pie cocktail. Both were refreshing, well-balanced, and a great addition to the meal. Overall, we had a really enjoyable experience and would definitely come back!

My husband gets the classic burger, which is also very good. Our kids usually get the pizza, tenders, or the butter noodles with Parmesan cheese. Their favorites are definitely the tenders and the butter noodles. The fries are very tasty, too. We also always get the pretzel and cheese appetizer, and it's a hit with all of us. The atmosphere is nice, and they have a great selection of draft options -- our go‑to is the Lucky 12. The staff is extremely friendly, and we always feel welcome. We'll definitely continue coming here.

We decided to give his place a try. We ordered their burgers and their kid size fish and chips. Their burgers have really good flavor. Size portion is good. Fresh potato fries. Their fish and chips were okay. The fish wasn't as crispy as I expected. More on the softer side. However, the fish size was decent. Definitely worth giving this place a try if you are in the mood for food. Good also for social gatherings.

A burger in one place is much the same as a burger in any other? Ha!…read more The Blue & Gray Bar & Grill, right in the center of historic Gettysburg, goes one better. We'd spent an entire day touring the battlefield, it's a Saturday, and the town is full of tourists. No surprise we had a thirty minute wait for a table. But once inside and seated, it was clear to us that the B & G was no ordinary bar & grill. The burgers are themed for generals, both Federal and Confederate, who took part in the battle. Each burger is characterized by the general it's named for. The General Buford, for example, is served with bleu cheese crumbles and horseradish (he's a cavalry officer, get it?) and the Robert E. Lee features a slab of Virginia ham. I ordered the General George Meade. Meade was a Pennsylvanian, so naturally this burger comes with a pile of Philly cheesesteak. A carnivore's delight, to be sure. No complaints here. And if I'm ever back this way, I'm curious to try the General Longstreet: it's served with carmelized onions and peanut butter. That's gotta be good.

Lots of different wing choices too. Very little choices for entrées. More like an afterthought. Our waitress, bless her heart looked overwhelmed. I asked for a specific type of beer. "Oh im a girl, I dont know beers" say what? Then hands me a hand written list of beers to choose from. Also she totally forgot to put in one of the orders, for a table of 7. Yea, how do you miss a whole meal??? I asked for a medium burger, got medium rare. Along with cold fries. Who eats rare burgers??? The burger was delicious, but too rare for me (got the blue cheese one, named after some general) Overall I wouldn't recommend this place unless all you want is burgers and wings. Cause thats all they have. Oh and expect to wait in line with everyone else for a table. The place is smaller than it looks.
