We finally graduated to the dining room for our recent visit and it was absolutely amazing. Our wait staff was perfection. Attentive, and very low key. Gave us great recommendations. We came for Mother's Day and all of us ladies were blown away! Everyone had the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes and they were LEGIT MD Crab cakes. No crappy filler. Just the best jumbo lump crab meat!! We also shared the grilled pork chop, and it was super tasty. The mashed potatoes were GREAT!! The French fries were served cold but hey, we didn't come for the fries!! Ordered food via Door Dash which arrived lukewarm at best, soggy fries, buns wet from condensation. I suppose this is the challenge with takeout/delivery, but the order didn't have far to travel. More than the quality of the delivery was the sad, greasy, and tasteless sandwich they have the audacity to name a "Banh mi". A lackluster amount of flavorless and dry meat, zero pickled vegetables or anything fresh, a soggy from butter bun. Nothing even remotely resembled a banh mi. This is a pretty darn good restaurant in a lovely historic area. The restoration of the building is very nicely done, the space makes for a pretty nice dining area. The staff are professional and very nice, great service ...although after being seated for dinner it did take a good 5 minutes before anyone came to the table -- but it was a bit busy when we were seated. There was very good solo guitar and singing of 60s music being performed. Very nice ambiance! Both the red and white wine we ordered were above average for local restaurants. The Caesar salad was one of the better ones in the overall area, but the Caprese appetizer was really just average although tasty! Shrimp and grits was very good and a hit. The short rib pot roast was absolutely delicious and served with very nicely done vegetables and mash. Absolutely delicious. Extra wine was ordered, and the meal was really enjoyable. Nothing to complain about and very enjoyable overall. This could be a top restaurant, but the quality to price ratio is just a tad high... It is NOT expensive, just not a bargain. Maybe I am too stingy in this review, but I do want to reiterate that the overall experience is excellent! I have dined here once before for lunch, and that was also a very good experience. There are many good options to pick from and all though the selection sounds basic the burger is very good. Always a win to go to our local spot! Ever since we moved to the area 11 years ago we have been patronizing Vintage. We were devastated when Covid hit hard and took them out for a long while but they eventually were back! Food is good. I wish they'd change up the menu though. It has been the same for years. We love this place! The food is fresh and delicious, the ambiance is great (especially on the bar side where we tend to sit), and the staff is out of this world! You can get anything from a perfectly cooked burger to their perfectly crispy chicken tenders (iykyk) to more refined dishes like the Cajun pasta or steak. They also have weekly specials which lean to more interesting offerings, as well as some nightly specials such as $1 oysters on Wednesdays and Taco Thursdays. You'll be glad you tried it! read more

I recently rented the upstairs banquet room for a rehearsal dinner. We had a group of 30, which was probably near the limit for a buffet. I could not have had a better experience. Ariel worked with me on every question I had. Jodi was our server and she did an amazing job! The food was delicious. They accommodated any dietary restrictions or special requests that my guests had with no issue. It is a beautiful spot! The only concern I would ever have with it is the stairs, it would have been very tricky for anyone with a disability, and I'm not aware of any alternatives. However they do have a private room on the first floor which also looks lovely. When the bill came, I was exhausted and overlooked that the tip had been included. I was at home when I realized my mistake, and they made the adjustment with no issue. All in all, a very positive dining and celebratory event location! read more

The ambiance is great and staff is friendly. I visited Wednesday evening and they offered half price wine which was very nice. They also have a coupon from their website and often sent the coupon via text. I ordered Ahi tuna, crab dip, and my friend got salad with shrimp. We also got hot cookie with ice cream dessert. Not only did they welcome us with friendly, efficient professionalism, they also served up a perfectly prepared meal of classic dishes with interesting refinements. Our group enjoyed fun cocktails, brightly seasoned and generously portioned appetizers, fresh takes on comfort foods, and finally cheesecake and chocolate torte so good that nearly everyone ordered some. French press coffee with the desserts was the perfect ending. The kids with us were able to choose from typical, simple fare as well as more interesting offerings on the kids menu. The ambiance was comfortable, and our group was seated in an area that allowed us to relax and move between tables without inconveniencing anyone else, so we were able to socialize easily. Yes, what you heard is true! The Vintage really is worth the trip to quiet little New Market. The rustic feel inside is warm and inviting, the dining room is spacious and sociable, and the bar area is great for sitting down with some expertly crafted unique cocktails and have a cozy chat. We each ordered coffee, which was delivered to the table in a French press and was so good! We also ordered the Lavender Lemonade mocktail (the regular cocktail comes with gin), which was so pretty and so tasty! We started eats with the Ahi Tuna appetizer, which was so good we ordered a second one. I had the Prime Ribeye of the specials menu, which was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. The red wine demi-glace was divine, the truffle potatoes were both crust AND fluffy, and the asparagus was so so good. My counterpart had the Spicy Seafood Pasta, which had a nice kick that wasn't overwhelming, and the sea food was cooked perfectly. We finished with the Iron Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie. We couldn't decide between Vanilla or Cinnamon ice cream, so we got both. If you are a fan of Churros, the cinnamon is the way to go, though both were excellent, and the cookie was to die for. Love the farm freshness of this quaint restaurant in New Market. I missed brunch at New Years and vowed Id come back to try under new Management. I was in the mood for a salad, given its after the Holidays. I was given a water while viewing menus. I love the water here, fresh well water. I then had a 'gettin figgy' made with fig vodka...uummmm not bad. Torn between crab cakes or grits, I ordered the Cajun shrimp grits.The shrimp were huge, the grits were as it said spicy. I preferred the way they used to do grits. I wasn't going to have dessert, the vanilla creme brûlée' was awesome. Be mindful they Take $3.00 off for service staff. Okay, it is not required to enjoy them, but the signature cocktails were as good as advertised. They, The Vintage, do Taco Thursday (they are closed on Tuesdays), and honestly, the tacos - were amazing! The Salmon looked good from across the table and was pronounced delicious! This is a very cozy, rustic style American restaurant. We liked how they use lot of the ingredients from local farmers. And service was very friendly and attentive. Couple suggestions for improvement: 1. Brussel sprouts appetizer was way too salty . 2. Our pork chop came out with certain part that was not cooked through . Personally, I can eat my beef steak rare... but anything pork I'm not OK with any rawness in it. The kitchen was very nice and cooked it little more. The pork chop quality was definitely very nice. My three friends and I had dinner at Vintage Sat. Dec 16th. We had 6:30pm reservations and were seated promptly. The restaurant was tastefully decorated for the holidays and our server was prompt. Throughout our dining experience our waters stayed full and our attentive waiter fulfilled our needs. We ordered the crab dip and Buffalo chicken flatbread for appetizers. The crab dip was mostly cream cheese and the everything lavash tasted of cheap oil. The Buffalo chicken flatbread was an oval Naan with chicken tenders diced up, buffalo sauce and chunks of bleu cheese. It was fine..not fantastic. I ordered the Tomahawk Pork Chop as an entree. It was slated to be served with jasmine rice and honey chipotle brussel sprouts. I asked to substitute the risotto. I quickly learned that the risotto was yesterday's rice with sliced onions and Parmesan cheese along with an offensive amount of salt and pepper. The brussel sprouts looked like they were cut by a child and so unevenly sliced that some were pure mush while others weren't cooked at all. The honey chipotle sauce had promise but it was so abundant it was obnoxious. The pork chop itself was a lovely bone in, perfectly cooked slab of meat. Unfortunately my piece was 1/3 fat strap. The sauce that accompanied it was fantastic!! My biggest suggestion for the chef is LESS can be more. The entree plate was so much competition and such lackluster flavor execution. Also--what you're serving isn't risotto. Our server and all of the staff were fantastic! The establishment was clean and well lit. read more

I am giving Vintage three stars only because our dining experience was mediocre. After it closed for two years and just re-opened a few months ago under a new chef and new management, I have to say it feels like they are still working out the "kinks." The food was fine, however we ordered the crab dip for appetizer and it was very cheesy and little crab. Then I ordered the salmon with jasmine rice and brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were flavorful with a sweet chili sauce, so it was tad spicy. Then my husband ordered the Vintage burger, which he stated was spicy and bland, since it it topped with a siracha aioli sauce. The service was a bit on the slow side even without every table being full on a Friday night. Our total bill was pretty expensive for the food, and there was an even a "Labor of Love" service charge, which I'm not exactly sure what that means. The ambiance is casual but is good for large groups or even a romantic dinner for two, since it's the old Vintage restaurant with nothing changed on the inside. However, they've started to add a 3% "Labor of Love" charge to the bill, which is a sneaky way to grab a few extra dollars per table. I don't understand why businesses can't just raise their prices slightly if costs go up - there's no need for this underhanded (and frankly, borderline illegal) charge. More and more restaurants are just doing this, and every time I see it, I cross it off the list of places I'll return too. So long, Vintage, I hope the $2.50 was worth it. read more

I was thinking this was going to be a more intimate environment, but all the tables are on top of each and it was so loud much more like a bar scene. The service was sub par. Done eating for 15 mins before the waitress came around again and she never came back by to see if we were enjoying our entree. Big delay from appetizers till the entree came. We had high hopes for this place having heard about it through some neighbors. After our experience, we believe our neighbors just got lucky. Nothing to really write home about. The facility and the furniture really needs a facelift including the wobbly chairs at and around the bar. The food was palatable but left us wanting. For instance, the risotto was not that The service was a bit on the slow side but the proverbial "nail in the coffin" for us was the "Labor of Love" addition to our check. Server Amanda was absolutely phenomenal. She recommended several dishes and answered our questions with enthusiasm and an eagerness to ensure our visit was memorable. The meal was delicious as expected. Very prompt service and every detail was handled with precision. There is also a room located upstairs that accommodates approximately 40-guests. I inquired about the space after asking if they rented space for events. I was impressed at the organic feel of the restaurant and the event space was equally pleasing. Very disappointed...again. This restaurant has struggled in various forms. At the end of it's longtime run as Mealys, it was a sad fraction of itself. It's early days as Vintage we're good. Creative menu, quality ingredients, attentive staff, but they lost their chef and closed. This new iteration has been open for sometime, but they still haven't recovered. The waitstaff are very inexperienced. Unfamiliar with the menu, and inattentive. The food was horrible. We started with the charcuterie board. The two meats were uninspired and flavorless, the cheese choices were just okay, but not really good matches, and the bread was toasted, stale, and cold. Plus no mustards or sauces. And it took 308nuts to arrive. The chef cooked our burgers in what must have been a dirty, greasy flat top and the clearly don't know medium rare from well. The bun should not dissolve from the grease. The cheese wasn't even melted and the burger didn't even have the components listed on the menu. The accompanying fries were stale, cold, flavorless and inedible. The burger meal was way overpriced based on the quality of the ingredients. If they get their meats from Wagner's, they are getting the worst selections, or they are old, not fit for consumption by man or beast. Not recommending, not going back. It's a sad failure of a beautiful space and a Maryland legacy. read more
