This is a smallish restaurant so reservations are recommended. The staff was very friendly. I heard they just changed ownership so there have been some challenges there. The menu is intriguing and deliciously curated. The dining area is cozy but fancy at the same time. The food is really good and you can tell they use quality ingredients. Our table has the burrata caprese salad, wedge salad, stuffed shrimp, shrimp scampi, shrimp and grits, stuffed flounder and spinach pesto linguine. We all enjoyed our dishes and I was impressed. I can see why it is loved by the locals.

This quaint restaurant is located at the old 75 and 80 drag strip. The restaurant has been reimagined from the no frills roadhouse it used to be for several decades. With limited seating, reservations are highly recommended. The menu has a range of options but a nice focus on Peruvian. The wine, beer, and cocktail selection offer plenty of options. The service was attentive but not pushy. We started with the Boom-Boom shrimp. The order comes with 12 small shrimp with a light breading that fell off easily. The pink Peruvian sauce lacked the bold flavors I expected. The seafood stir fry was surprisingly tasty and a generous serving. Shrimp, calamari, scallops with vegetables, in a Peruvian red sauce with jasmine rice. The basque cheesecake was light with fresh berries and a drizzle of strawberry sauce, a perfect ending.

I've been here twice--and both times, the food was great! The all-you-can-eat brunch (that I tried before Covid) was fantastic. I haven't had it recently, so I'd like to try it again. I recently went to lunch with some ladies. Once again, the food was great. The place is unassuming. (I remembered it from its former days as a biker bar.) The only thing that could be improved in the dining room was that there was a speaker playing music right above our table. Once we requested the music to be turned down by the waiter--the problem was solved. I would call this a hidden gem in Monrovia!

They start you with warm complementary bread with butter. The filet mignon was our favorite dish with soft meat and mashed potatoes. The sauce was a little sour to complement the meat. The linguini in the seafood linguine was cooked soft so it's good for little kids, but if you would like it more al dente, you'll probably have to let them know. There were 3 mussels, 2 scallops and several shrimp all cooked well. The green beans were cooked so they were still crunchy. Some of mine were a bit too undercooked for me. Wish there was more crab in the Maryland crab soup since I saw a lot of vegetables. It was pretty spicy which wasn't noted on the menu. The crème brûlée was cooked very well. It was cooked perfectly and paired with a very flavorful sauce. Highly recommended! * The Dessert: Finished with the coconut cake. It's a little bit off 70, but not bad. First off, this restaurant has an incredibly oversized parking lot. Maybe the restaurant has areas I didn't see, but I was a little bemused. Inside, it's decorated a bit like an old lady house with country accents. It's welcoming and nice, if a little old. I was seated and served quickly. My waitress was great. I ordered French onion soup and a bison burger with sweet potato fries. The French onion soup came out first. It had a huge layer of cheese on top, but it tasted like white cheddar. The soup itself was good at first but started getting bitter. I discovered a huge bay leaf in it. That explains that. Guys, leaving a bay leaf hidden in French onion soup is a violation of Article 35(2) of the Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions. My sweet potato fries were seasoned with a chipotle cinnamon blend. It was weirdly sweet and clashed with the burger. I didn't care for it and honestly feel like if you're going to season with something weird, you should be abundantly clear. The burger was a disappointment. It was fairly basic. It was cooked right, but every so often I would get a burst of salt. I suspect the meat was salted and not well mixed. My burger, fries, and side of soup came to over $40. I am honestly being more critical of them because of that. At that price point, I expect REALLY good, not salt pockets, a left-in bay leaf, and weird seasonings.

We drove up on a Saturday late afternoon in Aug 2025 and found parking across Main Street. There are other free lots nearby and sometimes a free shuttle around town on Sat and Sun. While waiting for the music, we staked out a table among some that people had reserved ahead of time in front of the wine shop, with other tables just outside the lot and more across the quiet side-street. From the wine shop, we got a nice little pinot noir to take home. They offered plastic glasses and a bucket full of ice, so we could have had that during the concert. They also have beers and ciders, gourmet snacks, and many clever and original accessories and crafts. The wine shop's owner encouraged up to walk to nearby Joe's Deli, and across to the Patapsco Distillery where the band set up under a small canopy, and we also got some food and drink from them for our table. And there's a sweet little ice cream shop across Main Street too! The band played light rock and folk and people were relaxed in conversations and enjoyment of the music. The gentle breeze kept us cool under sun-shielding umbrellas. I'm not gonna lie, despite following the GPS, it was tricky for me to find where the restaurant was actually located. The GPS led me through the back way, so there were unmarked roads and no signage identifying Salt & Vine from the back. The easiest way to find the big white house of the restaurant is off of Olney Sandy Spring Road. There's a few parking spots available in the front and additional parking in the back. We had a private room upstairs, almost in a nook. The room was a little dingy and was a bit dated - the mirrors were tarnished and could've used some Windex - but the dining room table was set and it gave us the intimate ambiance that we were looking for. Service was excellent! Five stars for service! Ty was our primary server. He checked on us frequently to see if we needed anything, checked to see how the food was, and still gave us the space to enjoy our private lunch together. Any time a new guest arrived, Ty promptly greeted the newcomer and was ready to get them a drink. When the guest of honor arrived, he gave his congratulatory wishes and really set the tone for a wonderful luncheon at Salt & Vine. Service was super accommodating and pacing between the dishes was done really well. We never felt rushed and also never felt like we were sitting around wondering when the next dish would come. All the dishes served had the necessary serving utensils for family-style. Service was upscale in the sense that they changed out plates and silverware in between courses. Service was also super seamless - another staff member was there to assist to clear plates, bring out food and dishes, and do drink refills - and everyone did their job efficiently and effectively. Leftovers were also packed up by the staff and neatly packaged to take home. We had a family-style meal consisting of the arancini, grandma's meatballs, house salad, wood-oven roasted oysters, fusilli bolognese, artichoke and crab frittata, fresh berries and whipped cream, and cannolis. Each dish had beautiful presentation. The standout dish (and rightfully so) was the fusilli bolognese, which Ty said was by far the most popular dish on the menu. The fusilli bolognese was delicious! The fusilli bolognese was perfectly balanced between the meat, creamy tomato sauce, and cheese. I don't like pasta that's swimming in sauce or that has chunks of meat that's dry or rolls right out of the sauce - this fusilli bolognese does everything right and I'm here for it. The arancini was light and super cheesy on the inside. It's almost like a fried mozzarella ball. The meatball was served with a lovely dollop of herbed ricotta. Both the arancini and meatball were served in a tasty marina sauce and I would say they were good serving sizings for the starters. The house salad was fresh and nicely dressed, but pretty basic - some mixed greens, little tomatoes, pickled red onions, and croutons, plus a balsamic dressing. The artichoke and crab frittata was topped with mixed greens that almost felt like another salad. Everything was portioned out already, making it easy to serve and share the meal together. I do like a little more stuff in my frittata (peppers, onions, cheese, etc. aka the works), but I did appreciate that you can taste the crab and artichokes in the dish. For dessert, we had the fresh berries with whipped cream and a platter of cannolis. We loved the berries and whipped cream - so fresh and lightly sweet and airy. You get a two-for-one with the cannolis - you get chocolate chips on one side and pistachios on the other end - it's the best of both worlds! These were classic cannolis done really well. I highly recommend Salt & Vine for any event you may have. They hosted our luncheon expertly. And the fusilli bolognese- get it!
