Glazed Cinnamon Rolls
Kerri C.

Finally having a day free, one of my girlfriends and I decided to go for brunch at Monocacy Crossing. We had the duck nachos and the cinnamon buns, and then honestly ran out of space for more. The portions were great! We liked the duck nachos, but absolutely loved the cinnamon buns. We each had a drink as well - I had a peach sangria that I would have had another glass or so if I wasn't driving! I'll definitely return to try some more things on their menu!

I get a lot of guff from my buds for never giving 5 stars to restaurants I've been to. I have always said - when I get a 5-star experience I grade as such. Well here's one: Stopped here for dinner with an 8pm reservation on a Saturday. Eyeing the menu I was excited bc there were several things I saw that I was interested in. Coming from 1:20 away, we bundled a trip to Target and Old Navy into the excursion- and somehow both of those are only 2mi up the road from here. We pulled up and walked in right at 8. There is an outdoor area with Edison bulbs hanging overhead, but we made sure with weather - to book inside. Several seating areas- bar, front dining room, and a back dining room. They were very busy, so I was interested to see if it was a "only show in town" or "this place is really good" business. Upon being sat we ordered a couple diet sodas, and I added an old-fashioned. The drink was really good - just the right balance of booze and mix. For appetizers we went with an order of crab deviled eggs, as well as the hushpuppies. I will say that the menu had about ten things I wanted to try: duck nachos, Korean beef tacos, caprese salad, etc. The deviled eggs were great: fried egg half, with the devil filling on top and lump crab meat on top. Came with 4 pieces and slaw with a nice tangy remoulade underneath. This is a must-try if you're into this items. The Hushpuppies were probably a top-10 item I've had so far in 2025. Deep-fried and moist and fresh inside with a little corn mixed in. They were served in a dish with bourbon sugar glaze sauce underneath. WOW THIS WAS FREAKING GOOD. For my entree, I popped on the bacon wrapped filet with horseradish cream, potatoes and green beans. I'm not much of a bacon wrapped anything fan - but the bacon was just an after thought that added a touch of salt and sweet to the bite. The clear sauce as well as the horseradish worked in concert with the meat to deliver an EXCEPTIONAL meal experience. Wow. Have I said that enough yet? Beans were flash steamed and fresh, potatoes were great. For dessert, I nearly got disappointed bc out of the 6 things they offered- 4 have coconut in it. Is that a big deal? No- bc I got the espresso chocolate cheesecake, BUT coconut pound cake, chocolate turtle cake with coconut, coconut creme brulee - kind of overpowers other options. My cheesecake was very good - right size and great flavor. Also had a cup of coffee. Our waitress was also very nice and after handling several tables and leaving us alone for 5-10 min without taking a drink order at the beginning of our visit - she was great. This is one to book ASAP.

This was my first time to this restaurant. I had won gift cards from The Housewives of Frederick. We enjoyed the gnocchi "snack" and pretzels. The gnocchi had a lighter consistency than I've had before, and it paired great with the pesto cream sauce and bacon. The bacon was a game changer in this dish! The pretzels weren't as dense as a Philly soft pretzel. The dipping sauce with chives paired great with them. My boyfriend had the burger, and added a fried egg and bacon at the waitress's suggestion. I enjoyed the pork tenderloin and veggies. The squash was really good - not overcooked. The cocktails are good - a little strong, even. Our waitress, Jade was good, not overly attentive. My boyfriend said he'd driven by the restaurant for years, not thinking much of it, as it looks small, like a plain house, but it's quite sizable and comfortable, though a little loud. They have some outdoor seating that we'd like to check out on the spring.

Quiche of the day

The food and service were good, although my quiche was a little overdone on the bottom. My mom got potato bacon soup that she liked a lot. A few things that made the experience less than stellar. The noise level in the restaurant makes it hard to hold a conversation. And, this is just a pet peeve of mine, but the hostess led us to our table and then blocked us from sitting until she poured our water. That annoys me. Just step to the side for two seconds to let your guest get to their table. Another pet peeve: the hostess laid the menus on our silverware. Do you know how many hands have touched those menus? Blech! Otherwise, it was okay.

Steak salad w/ Goat cheese & spiced nuts

The Food here is can't miss. EVERYTHING is so good. Love it. Got the Steak Salad and Scallops (app) for my meal. Both were incredible. Wife got the PorkChop - was good but liked the regular PorkChop more. We ate on the Patio which was awesome. Perfect evening. Service was better Inside. Our server spent a bit too much time at a friends table while we had been there a while (10+ min)

Bacon wrapped steaks and poached eggs

One of our best experiences from eating out. I highly recommend this place. We went for dinner and had hanger steak. Price is reasonable and didn't feel like ripoff. Service was excellent. Found out that the owners are the chef and purposefully keep cost down and past them on to customers. Cheers to that. Today we came back for brunch on Sunday. Be sure to Make reservation. We had Bacon wrapped steak and two poached eggs. Wow - tasty tender steak, great home fries and just right poached eggs on crispy muffins. Awesome value - 2 good sized steaks and two poached eggs. $24. Very happy customers here.

The food was amazing. Cute little restaurant, indoor and outdoor dining. Yummy drinks and food. They were very busy so i was glad we had made a reservation.

May very well be the best fine dining in Fredrick. I have zero complaints about the experience. I had the red wine flight and after the flight I asked for one of the wines for a "2nd" glass... Alas! They did not have enough! ...So the staff did what I would do: They offered me a much pricier wine at the same cost. This is doing your customer right. Also, we had a dozen oysters and when we finished we realized we were one short! ha ha! Well... we showed the waiter the shells and he said: Would you like the 12th oyster or for us to comp the selection. We got the 12th oyster... Just offering to comp us was nice. However, all that aside: The food is EXCELLENT, same with the wine and the service...!

We ordered a (French press) coffee and we split the Burrata Toast to start. And because we weren't in the mood for "breakfast" food we both ordered the Wagyu Burger. The first French press coffee we received was full of grounds so we had to send it back for another one once we were able to get assistance (our server was nowhere to be found). My friend ordered her burger with a salad but it came with fries but they fixed it pretty quickly. The food was really good. The service was okay.

Turned out to be a very memorable first visit. We found this restaurant after using Google Gemini…read moreto find "Authentic German Food" when we arrived in the parking lot, we saw the chefs sitting outside taking a breather next to where we'd parked, but thought nothing of it at first. It was our first year of dating anniversary but we failed to notice when looking the place up that they closed at 7:30pm. We walked in at about 7:40pm and the bartender regretfully informed us that they had just closed. We accepted the situation for the error it was on our part and opted to go elsewhere. So barely 3 minutes after walking up to the entrance, we were heading back to our truck. The chefs were still there and immediately asked us why we weren't staying to eat. When we explained that we hadn't realized they closed at 7:30, they looked at us and said, "Go back in there and tell them we said we're still open for you guys." We were a bit concerned that we'd cause hard feelings and said we could just come back a different day, and they wouldn't have it. "We're the guys who'll be cooking, not them, if we're okay with it, then what have you got to lose?" We looked at each other and thought briefly and headed back up to the entrance. I had mentioned that I had a spur of the moment 'hankerin' for German Food, and he said, "Well, you're at the right place!" Before we got back in the front door, one of the chefs (we learned shortly after were the owners) was already letting the bar staff know to get us seated and taken care of. My girlfriend ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu, and I ordered the Pork Schnitzel. We of course sampled each others' dishes and it was beyond amazing on both entrees. Some of the best schnitzel I've had NOT in Europe, and the mushroom onion gravy was so savory and rich. The Chicken was loaded with flavor and I could definitely see that being on a future order for myself. After we were beyond stuffed, we decided to split a dessert for the occasion and had the Chocolate Mousse Cake. When the bartender learned it was our first anniversary, she made sure to get a candle to put in the cake for us, it was a very nice and welcoming touch. The bar staff was on their game with the service, keeping drinks full and checking on us frequently to make sure we were good to go. There were only two other tables still seated in the restaurant at that point, and they were actually there already eating when we first arrived. They were still there when we departed, so we assumed they may have been family friends or locally important patrons. The ambiance of the restaurant has a very British Pub feel to it, and it is so amazingly cozy and feels like home. We both left with an amazing impression and cannot wait for another chance to try some of the other menu options. I'm very curious to try the Filet Mignon next time, but the Stroganoff looked quite tempting as well. I think we both found a place that we'll absolutely keep on the short list of places to revisit next time we're in town. It was such a memorable experience and we so greatly appreciated the flexibility and hospitality they demonstrated. That type of service is so hard to find these days. Beyond that, I REALLY want to try those Eclairs on a Thursday!

Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. The restaurant itself feels like an old house converted into a cozy dining space, giving it a relaxed, family-dinner vibe that's hard to find these days. The food? Incredible. They had fried calamari on the menu, but we asked if they could grill it instead--and they happily did. It came out perfectly tender and delicious. The linguini with white clam sauce tasted exactly like something an Italian grandma would make--simple, comforting, and deeply authentic. And the Veal Massi with fresh mozzarella? Absolutely out of this world. Rich, flavorful, and unforgettable. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend this gem in Frederick!

We took a table in the rear enclosed patio area near the bar. To start we ordered the meatball sliders. Two come with an order and they were good. I liked the toasted slider rolls, the tangy sauce and the spiciness of the meatball. Recommend cutting it in half to eat it without it flying out of the roll. Overall a good start. I ordered the gnocchi primavera which really wasn't in the traditional sense - as the vegetables were puréed together into an orange sauce. Had a good flavor and was served with burrata. Starters and entrees came out very close to each other which wasn't a bad thing. We also added a margherita pizza to share which looked weird - but tasted great. Nice crisp to the crust and thin. I usually think of a doughier crust with this kind of pizza but still good. Dessert was the fudge cake - rich in flavor, adding a coffee. Overall - would have loved to sit inside and get that experience but still good considering we didn't have a reservation.
