Just a little off the main path near Westview in Frederick is this hidden gem of a sushi joint. I've only been here once for takeout, but I was already happily impressed. The menu is as expected with traditional style sashimi, nigiri and maki rolls, as well as your favorite bento boxes and donburi for those folks who love full meals with plenty to eat. Expect some great dishes here and reasonable prices compared to the eateries down near DC. However, the quality is not sacrificed! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is fresh and modern, the parking is easy, and the staff are friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I didn't try everything, just some rolls and seaweed salad, but, they were great. I will be back here again!

Solid Sushi dining experience. Food was fantastic, with the staff giving awesome service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great decor with cool vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had Spicy Tuna and Spicy Shrimp rolls with a small house salad and thoroughly enjoyed it at the Sushi bar.

This place has excellent service even on a very busy rush hour Friday night! They accommodated our seating request (someone in our original corner was too loud so we moved to the bar) and were very prompt with the rest of our evening order! Food was delicious! Highly recommend!

Bento Box with Teriyaki Chicken and Spicy Tuna Roll

Stopped in for some good food based on Yelp reviews while in Frederick for work, and it was delicious! Tucked away in a small shopping strip, this place is a hidden treasure. The menu is great with ramen, sushi and sashimi, tempura, and rice bowl options. I chose the bento box with teriyaki chicken, tossed salad with ginger dressing, gyoza, miso soup, and my choice of roll - spicy tuna. I also got the shishito peppers because they are some of my favs. My choice of beverage was a Kirin, but they had plenty sake options, wine options, and Sapporo. The ambiance is intimate but modern. Had a nice patio as well, but I visited during over 100 degree weather. The view of the kitchen and sushi making is wonderful. Staff was incredibly kind and attentive. I would say this is a place to take your time and enjoy the atmosphere, your company (even if it's yourself), and your food. Have a little patience and just soak it in. The spicy tuna roll was on point! The rest was great too, and I left with enough for lunch tomorrow. I will definitely return when in town for work!

Never disappointed coming here! Staff are friendly and attentive. Food choices, since they opened, have expanded! From their tapas selections, ramen bowls, donburi, and sushi rolls you will get your fill. Sushi is fresh, ramen noodles cooked to perfection. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience is great!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will always be coming here!

Every time my husband and I visit to eat here we have a great experience. We typically have lunch but we tried dinner on a Friday evening. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were looking for something a little more quiet than downtown.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The customer service was great and the food was even better.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Came here on a quiet Sunday and the vibes are so smooth in here! The decor and ambiance are so chic and modern.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was immediately greeted and served a water. I order The Volcano Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll and Hamachi Kama. The flavor in this food was excellent! I loved the spicy tuna because the fish was so fresh and light. It was minced tuna, so I would have liked a little more cucumber to add some crunch. The volcano roll was a unique twist with the baked crab over top of the sushi rolls in a beautiful presentation. Lastly the hamachi was PERFECT! The fish was cooked to a tender bite with the perfect thin crisp to the outside! Yum! The service here is impeccable. Very polite staff, refilled my water at the perfect time, and left the pitcher on the table. They came and checked on my throughout my meal. They set the standard for customer service. Definitely will be returning

We visited Sushi Nomu for lunch today and the food was delicious. On their menu is a selection of sushi and ramen dishes. I ordered the spicy crab roll and the Tonkatsu ramen and both items were out of this world good. The best ramen and sushi I've had in awhile. The service is quick and friendly. The ambiance is clean, quiet, calm and they had very stylish and updated decor. Definitely would love to visit here again in the future.

Delicious food. Friendly staff. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful decorations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Opens late. Definitely would visit again We got the eel lover sushi, tonkotsu and truffle shoyu ramen, all of which taste delightful

Such a hidden gem. Food was tasty and had lots of options to choose from bento boxes, soups, sushi rolls, udon etc. I ordered the spicy crab and shrimp tempura roll, spicy crab was yummy but the shrimp tempura was a bit dry but that's on me for not ordering more sauce on the side. My husband ordered a bulgogi bento box and asahi beer, it was all pretty savory. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Would come back as the ambience was calming and the service was great as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall great experience.

I came when they opened in 2023, and this was my second time. Glad to see they are thriving. The menu is more attractive, especially Bento Box is fun because you can customize it. Will come back soon.

Thoroughly enjoyed dining at Sushi Nomu. I came in for lunch with a friend so we can catch up and everything. She ordered Edamame and a dragon roll. I opted for the Ten Donburi. She was very pleased with her order, and I absolutely devoured my donburi! Serving portions are very standard. They were also filling. My friend and I were catching up after not having seen each other for a couple years. It took us a minute to look over the menu and decide what to order because we kept getting distracted. The wait staff were really patient and stayed friendly, even though they had to come back a couple times to take our orders. They were quite busy with a constant stream of diners coming in. The dining area was clean and beautifully decorated. They have plenty of tables that they can separate for smaller parties or connect for larger parties. They also have high chairs for people with kids/babies. I greatly enjoyed Sushi Nomu and would not hesitate to come back and try a different dish.

Recently saw on FB that this place had opened and decided to try it. Walked in on a Monday evening and it was pretty quiet. The lay out and decor are very classy, loved that you can see the hustle and bustle in the kitchen, while our food was being prepared. We ordered the enoki garlic mushrooms, edamame, tonkatsu Ramen, for my son, and shrimp, tempura rice bowl for myself my husband ordered a couple sushi rolls for his meal. Everything was delicious! I am really eager to try more of the menu. However, I must say that I am obsessed with the garlic mushrooms. I think about them constantly they were so well seasoned texture was perfect and taste was fabulous. Our waitress was very attentive and checked on us frequently. She insured that our water was constantly refilled and we had everything we needed. I'm really excited for others to discover this treasure!

We came here to celebrate a personal milestone and we did it at the last moment. Luckily, there was a table for it. We did not know what to expect, but some menu items had a nice twist to the dish. However, one dish was by far the best: the deviled eggs. The sauce and the prep was just amazing. It is not a lot of food and it is $20, but we both thought it was worth it to come back to eat it again. The other dishes we ordered were good, but the most memorable was the deviled eggs. I liked how they had a leaderboard for frequent customers though. That was cool to just stare at. The location has parking on the rocks and it was full by 6 pm on a Thursday. There is outside seating and limited inside seating. The bar area looked fairly busy because it was happy hour time. Its an old timey restaurant with a more mature setting that made us think of places like eating on Kent Island or Annapolis or St. Michaels. It is a hidden gem here - especially where it was located. It was cooked perfectly and paired with a very flavorful sauce. Highly recommended! * The Dessert: Finished with the coconut cake. It was incredibly moist--perhaps a touch too sweet for my personal preference, but tasty enough that I'd definitely order it again. Overall, a great find with just a minor hiccup on the seafood. Not great, not terrible -- average. For me, sitting at the bar is better than at a table: better service and conversation with others. Same food, average seafood with typical sides. If the food was a notch better: I'd come more than once a year. I find Mays, Liberty Seafood and Avery's roughly the same, with Mays having the edge over the others (quieter too). For just crabs: order takeaway from Westpointe. For bulking up on food: Avery's. I actually enjoy eating at Avery's -- but it could be so much better if they improved the sides and service. Still, I do come once a year -- contrasted to: I visit several other restaurants at least twice a month ...and get better quality seafood dishes (at a marginally higher price). Just saying...

The texture and color were concerning and made the steak difficult to enjoy. Unfortunately, after eating some of it I began feeling sick and ended up having to leave early. I'm not sure if the issue was with the quality or freshness of the meat, but it was a very disappointing experience. I do want to note that the seafood my family ordered was actually very good and everyone else enjoyed their meals. I would rate the seafood around an 8/10. I ordered the gnocchi primavera which really wasn't in the traditional sense - as the vegetables were puréed together into an orange sauce. Had a good flavor and was served with burrata. Starters and entrees came out very close to each other which wasn't a bad thing. We also added a margherita pizza to share which looked weird - but tasted great. Nice crisp to the crust and thin. I usually think of a doughier crust with this kind of pizza but still good. Dessert was the fudge cake - rich in flavor, adding a coffee. It was our first year of dating anniversary but we failed to notice when looking the place up that they closed at 7:30pm. We walked in at about 7:40pm and the bartender regretfully informed us that they had just closed. We accepted the situation for the error it was on our part and opted to go elsewhere. So barely 3 minutes after walking up to the entrance, we were heading back to our truck. The chefs were still there and immediately asked us why we weren't staying to eat. When we explained that we hadn't realized they closed at 7:30, they looked at us and said, "Go back in there and tell them we said we're still open for you guys." We were a bit concerned that we'd cause hard feelings and said we could just come back a different day, and they wouldn't have it. "We're the guys who'll be cooking, not them, if we're okay with it, then what have you got to lose?" We looked at each other and thought briefly and headed back up to the entrance. I had mentioned that I had a spur of the moment 'hankerin' for German Food, and he said, "Well, you're at the right place!" Before we got back in the front door, one of the chefs (we learned shortly after were the owners) was already letting the bar staff know to get us seated and taken care of. My girlfriend ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu, and I ordered the Pork Schnitzel. We of course sampled each others' dishes and it was beyond amazing on both entrees. Some of the best schnitzel I've had NOT in Europe, and the mushroom onion gravy was so savory and rich. The Chicken was loaded with flavor and I could definitely see that being on a future order for myself. After we were beyond stuffed, we decided to split a dessert for the occasion and had the Chocolate Mousse Cake. When the bartender learned it was our first anniversary, she made sure to get a candle to put in the cake for us, it was a very nice and welcoming touch. The bar staff was on their game with the service, keeping drinks full and checking on us frequently to make sure we were good to go. There were only two other tables still seated in the restaurant at that point, and they were actually there already eating when we first arrived. They were still there when we departed, so we assumed they may have been family friends or locally important patrons. The ambiance of the restaurant has a very British Pub feel to it, and it is so amazingly cozy and feels like home. We both left with an amazing impression and cannot wait for another chance to try some of the other menu options. I'm very curious to try the Filet Mignon next time, but the Stroganoff looked quite tempting as well. I think we both found a place that we'll absolutely keep on the short list of places to revisit next time we're in town. It was such a memorable experience and we so greatly appreciated the flexibility and hospitality they demonstrated. That type of service is so hard to find these days. Beyond that, I REALLY want to try those Eclairs on a Thursday!
