Just a little off the main path near Westview in Frederick is this hidden gem of a sushi joint. I've only been here once for takeout, but I was already happily impressed. The menu is as expected with traditional style sashimi, nigiri and maki rolls, as well as your favorite bento boxes and donburi for those folks who love full meals with plenty to eat. Expect some great dishes here and reasonable prices compared to the eateries down near DC. However, the quality is not sacrificed! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is fresh and modern, the parking is easy, and the staff are friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I didn't try everything, just some rolls and seaweed salad, but, they were great. I will be back here again!

This place has excellent service even on a very busy rush hour Friday night! They accommodated our seating request (someone in our original corner was too loud so we moved to the bar) and were very prompt with the rest of our evening order! Food was delicious! Highly recommend!

Stopped in for some good food based on Yelp reviews while in Frederick for work, and it was delicious! Tucked away in a small shopping strip, this place is a hidden treasure. The menu is great with ramen, sushi and sashimi, tempura, and rice bowl options. I chose the bento box with teriyaki chicken, tossed salad with ginger dressing, gyoza, miso soup, and my choice of roll - spicy tuna. I also got the shishito peppers because they are some of my favs. My choice of beverage was a Kirin, but they had plenty sake options, wine options, and Sapporo. The ambiance is intimate but modern. Had a nice patio as well, but I visited during over 100 degree weather. The view of the kitchen and sushi making is wonderful. Staff was incredibly kind and attentive. I would say this is a place to take your time and enjoy the atmosphere, your company (even if it's yourself), and your food. Have a little patience and just soak it in. The spicy tuna roll was on point! The rest was great too, and I left with enough for lunch tomorrow. I will definitely return when in town for work!

I order The Volcano Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll and Hamachi Kama. The flavor in this food was excellent! I loved the spicy tuna because the fish was so fresh and light. It was minced tuna, so I would have liked a little more cucumber to add some crunch. The volcano roll was a unique twist with the baked crab over top of the sushi rolls in a beautiful presentation. Lastly the hamachi was PERFECT! The fish was cooked to a tender bite with the perfect thin crisp to the outside! Yum! The service here is impeccable. Very polite staff, refilled my water at the perfect time, and left the pitcher on the table. They came and checked on my throughout my meal. They set the standard for customer service. We visited Sushi Nomu for lunch today and the food was delicious. On their menu is a selection of sushi and ramen dishes. I ordered the spicy crab roll and the Tonkatsu ramen and both items were out of this world good. The best ramen and sushi I've had in awhile. The service is quick and friendly. The ambiance is clean, quiet, calm and they had very stylish and updated decor. Definitely would love to visit here again in the future.

Such a hidden gem. Food was tasty and had lots of options to choose from bento boxes, soups, sushi rolls, udon etc. I ordered the spicy crab and shrimp tempura roll, spicy crab was yummy but the shrimp tempura was a bit dry but that's on me for not ordering more sauce on the side. My husband ordered a bulgogi bento box and asahi beer, it was all pretty savory. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Would come back as the ambience was calming and the service was great as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall great experience.

I came when they opened in 2023, and this was my second time. Glad to see they are thriving. The menu is more attractive, especially Bento Box is fun because you can customize it. Will come back soon.

Thoroughly enjoyed dining at Sushi Nomu. I came in for lunch with a friend so we can catch up and everything. She ordered Edamame and a dragon roll. I opted for the Ten Donburi. She was very pleased with her order, and I absolutely devoured my donburi! Serving portions are very standard. They were also filling. My friend and I were catching up after not having seen each other for a couple years. It took us a minute to look over the menu and decide what to order because we kept getting distracted. The wait staff were really patient and stayed friendly, even though they had to come back a couple times to take our orders. They were quite busy with a constant stream of diners coming in. The dining area was clean and beautifully decorated. They have plenty of tables that they can separate for smaller parties or connect for larger parties. They also have high chairs for people with kids/babies. I greatly enjoyed Sushi Nomu and would not hesitate to come back and try a different dish.

Recently saw on FB that this place had opened and decided to try it. Walked in on a Monday evening and it was pretty quiet. The lay out and decor are very classy, loved that you can see the hustle and bustle in the kitchen, while our food was being prepared. We ordered the enoki garlic mushrooms, edamame, tonkatsu Ramen, for my son, and shrimp, tempura rice bowl for myself my husband ordered a couple sushi rolls for his meal. Everything was delicious! I am really eager to try more of the menu. However, I must say that I am obsessed with the garlic mushrooms. I think about them constantly they were so well seasoned texture was perfect and taste was fabulous. Our waitress was very attentive and checked on us frequently. She insured that our water was constantly refilled and we had everything we needed. I'm really excited for others to discover this treasure!

I found this restaurant on a Facebook group and saw that it recently opened. We walked into a beautiful, modern concept that looked like it can be in DC. Like an upscale lounge. The service was great, we didn't wait long for our food, the servers were friendly and suggested different things on the menu. Our food came out and it was great! There was variety of sushi. The owner gave us a free tea and matcha ice cream on the house. I will say that this is the best matcha ice cream I've had since I've been to Japan. I also asked for seared salmon even though it wasn't on the menu and they delivered! Tasted like butter. Delicious We will come back to try to ramen and maybe the nomukase whenever we get the chance. read more

The absolute best sushi/ramen in Frederick. We ordered take out and ordered the items below. The sashimi platter, Philly roll, California roll, and tonkatsu ramen. The sashimi was the cleanest most fresh fish I've ever had. Both the Philly and cali roll were as good as they could be with warm rice that was well season and beautiful presentation. The ramen was next level, the broth was outstanding and the pork was so flavorful. 10/10 will absolutely be my regular sushi/ramen restaurant. Never trying any others in the area. read more

Excellent place, surprised its so quiet when I went! I was visiting from California for work and I stopped by since I was craving sushi. I wash genuinely surprised with the quality of the Uni! I was impressed that it would taste that good this far from the pacific. Also ordered a roll the first time and some ramen for my second visit, both delicious and reasonably priced. This place just opened and it is such a fantastic Japanese place to check out. The food is reasonably priced and it tastes amazing. It has such a nice ambiance and friendly staff. They just opened up so I feel like they are a bit low staffed but I can assure you that it is worth the wait and hopefully they can hire more staff as time goes on. Highly recommend! read more

Having been there multiple times now, here are my thoughts. The space is nice, service good. The fact that they have bluefin puts them way above most others in the area. Other than random availablity of that, my only complaint is the rice is too cold on the nigiri. SInce sushi is all about the rice, I have taken away 1 star. But sushi is fresh and portions are generous for the price. They have oddly blocked the counter with windows so that makes the counter seats less appealing. Ramen was a bit too sweet for my taste (shoyu) but otherwise good. The egg was fab! The tapas is an interesting twist. While a bit of a challenge to eat, the tuna onimochi is awesome! I also wish they had more roll choices. The current list is too cream cheese heavy. Overall, not a cheap outing but worth a visit. read more

Ordered it online and the wife picked up to go so I cannot speak about the place itself. Order was Dragon rolls, tuna, salmon and a weird rolls without rice so the wrap was cucumber. Not something I would order again. One ginger salad. It was okay, but not worth the money. The salad is $8 for a few greens and not worth buy it. The rolls and flavors of the fishes were fine but was not better than an average sushi place. Very little ginger and wasabi for the side tasting. One of the orders had 5 pcs which is odd because normally it is 6 pcs. It was fresh and nothing bad about the quality. Again, it was fine. Not $61 dollars fine and added extra lettuce (from home) to the salad to make it substantial to make it worth eating. read more

I had put in a request for a reservation more than 24 hrs before the intended time and while yes I never received a "confirmation" and on the email it does say "this is not a confirmation", however, I have never had such a poor reservation system experience with any other restaurant. I had shown up in to the restaurant in the bitter cold and paid for parking only to find that they never confirmed the reservation on their end. SMH. And was an hour wait....EXACTLY why I wanted to make a reservation to avoid all of this. Moral of the story, don't trust their reservation system, if you want a table.

She said the peanut sauce had spice but wasn't too spicy (she's 12). The ginger dressing for the salad was really good, too. The spring rolls weren't a favorite, but they're a nice textural contrast. So, even if you're not in the mood for ramen, you should still stop by. Service has never been disappointing. Our most recent visit was fantastic, as always. I do recommend a reservation if you plan to dine during a common meal time. They get busy fast!

I visited this sushi restaurant with a friend this evening, and we were immediately greeted with such warmth--it really set the tone for the entire dining experience. The menu was incredibly intriguing, with a wide range of offerings including their signature gourmet sushi that felt truly unique. We decided to try their signature shoyu ramen with black truffle, and it was absolutely amazing. The broth had a rich, deep umami flavor beautifully enhanced by the aroma of real black truffle, including an actual slice of it! The chashu (pork) was seared on both sides to perfection, and the marinated egg was not only flavorful but also presented so elegantly. You can tell they put real thought and care into every element of the bowl. This place is a hidden gem--I would easily give it 10 out of 10. We called ahead as we had a party of 12 and they were to reserve table for us. 6pm we all got there and place was definitely super busy, however the staff was super attentive to everyone. As we ordered we informed them who was on which check and had it split 8 ways which is always a server's nightmare. Food came out and was amazing. This is by far my favorite sushi place in Frederick.
