    House sushi roll

Everything was delicious however the burrito was very small compared to shouyou or buredo. I was still hungry after so just be mindful if you do get the burrito or bento as well. But other than that I would give this place a 4/5 star.

The sushi was amazing!! Incredibly fresh and still warm. The portions were huge for incredible prices and it made it such a luxurious and pleasant experience. I was very excited being able to order the king salmon and salmon belly as well. The gyoza I got were also great! Unfortunately, the chicken katsu was only okay. The meat was on the tougher and thinner side but the rice was good. Overall, however, the sushi was so good that I'm very willing to overlook the chicken katsu.

Yum yum yum! I looked on Yelp as I was craving Japanese & found this place. I ordered the poke bowl with eel, salmon, cream cheese, shrimp & absolutely everything I love about Japanese food!!! It was delicious! My hubby ordered 3 diff types of rolls: Damascus roll & something else & Summer roll to go! It was all very good. His rolls weren't that big, but it was good! Service was quick and efficient. Will be back!

This place is kind of pricey. Ive gotten pokie bowl #3 twice and it was ok. This is $19 ish too expensive..

Volcano, Spicy Tuna w/crunch, Philly, Damascus and Mexico rolls. All so yum.

I love sushi and am so glad I have a new go-to spot for it (less expensive than my original go-to spot in Mt Airy). Been here only twice...both times with my sister and sleeping 2 month old daughter. Given that they were weekday afternoons we were the only ones in the restaurant however people did come in to carry out. The sushi is reasonably priced but still very fresh and good. We ordered the same rolls both times... Volcano Roll, Damascus Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll and the Jalapeno Roll. Maybe I'll pick some sushi up tomorrow after getting my nails done at Mimi's

We ordered some app, sushi, and a ton of meats. The sushi was so/so the ikura was a bit fishy/not the freshest, but I gave it a pass since it was included in the AYCE. The fried lotus was surprisingly my favorite non meat dish. Our friend rice was served lukewarm (the consistency of rice was a bit uneven like older rice that was left out for a bit) and way too oily so we had to send it back. Had no issues with the meat and service - although it was a tad slow and the 10 minute cooldown between ordering was unexpected. Our server was great and kept checking in with us. A few items we ordered never made it out to us, but at that point we were too full to care. My main complaint was with one of the hosts. We finished our meal and thanked our waiter and made our way back to the parking garage. From behind, we heard a very loud "EXCUSE ME." We originally thought we had dropped something and someone was looking out for us, but was appalled when she followed us halfway across the street and said "you think you're just going to leave without paying for your mocktail?" That was hands down the rudest I've been treated by a customer service based establishment. I've worked in hospitality and know you should never accuse a customer of anything. To make matters worse, she got the wrong people - we never ordered a mocktail. Will likely not return to Gyuzo for a while and stick to other bbq places with better service.

It was really popular that evening, so the three of got squished at the table meant for two, but we didn't mind. The menu is pretty extensive, offering ramen, udon, tonkatsu, rice bowls, grilled fish sets, and more. We ordered pretty quickly, but with how busy it was, it took a bit for the food to come out CHILEAN SEA BASS - 37 As I scanned through, my eyes immediately fell on the miso sea bass. Despite the price point, I knew I had to go for it because sea bass is hard to find around here. This set came with rice, house salad, miso soup, and cold tofu. The sides were pretty standard -- no compliments, but no complaints either. On the other hand, the sea bass was wonderful. Super creamy and soft, with a strong miso sweetness that packed so much umami upon each bite. I would definitely splurge on this set just for the sea bass. My friend got the ramen and didn't love it, so I'll probably avoid that during future visits. The katsu curry that the table next to us ordered looked and smelled amazing. Overall, food was delicious and homey. I'd definitely recommend!

Highly recommend getting the "Ring of Fire" -- it literally comes out on fire and tastes amazing. We were immediately sat and placed an order for Bao buns. These were very good - only the "meat marinade sauce" on these - usually there is a mayo type as well. The fire ball one is served with a liquor that is lit on fire which is cool - but it leaves behind an off-putting taste afterwards. Poseidon was very good with shrimp and crab and served with spicy mayo. For my main entree - I got the pork tonkotsu ramen. Standard - it was good and it comes with a full egg rather than one half like many other places. Our server was very good and attentive. Overall a solid meal and a must-try if you're a fan of Asian cuisine.

I went alone and sat at the sushi bar and did the premium omakase. Non traditional in that it was all served on one plate, but worth it. Nice presentation. We had a reservation for 7:30 p.m. for a party of 12, and I think that was the first issue. A group our size really needed a dedicated server, but instead we had one server covering our entire section. To be fair, he may have been stretched thin, but unfortunately, the service itself also left a lot to be desired. We were seated at 7:30, but our drink orders weren't taken until around 7:50. Then he disappeared for another 20 minutes before returning to take additional drink orders from people who had arrived later. We were ready to order food, but kept hearing, "I'll be right back." Throughout the night, drinks and items were forgotten. One friend finished her first glass of wine, ordered a second, and didn't receive it until we were literally asking for the check. At that point... we're leaving, friend. To make matters worse, several menu items we wanted weren't available. The mochi? Sold out. The Wagyu? Sold out. There were three or four different items people at our table ordered that were unavailable. On a Monday, that was a little surprising. Now for the good part... the sushi was REALLY good. I ordered the Yume Roll and the Tiger Roll, and both were incredibly fresh. The Yume Roll was especially unique and one of my favorite specialty rolls I've had in a while. It was made with spicy tuna, avocado, seared tuna, jalapeño, spicy mayo, eel sauce, and crunchy tempura bits, which gave it the perfect combination of heat, texture, and richness. The Tiger Roll was another standout, made with lump crab, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo, steamed tiger shrimp, and a mango tobiko sauce. The combination of flavors was fresh, light, and perfectly balanced. I also ordered the edamame with the spicy black garlic sauce, and I absolutely loved that twist. It was a nice change from the usual salted edamame. One dish that completely missed the mark was the Tempura Rice with Chicken, which I shared with the table. Unfortunately, this was the only thing we ordered that I genuinely didn't enjoy. The chicken was dark meat, lacked seasoning, and honestly tasted like it had come straight from a bag of frozen Tyson nuggets. It didn't have the crispy, flavorful bite I was expecting and felt completely out of place compared to how fresh and well-executed the sushi was. I'd definitely skip this one on my next visit. My cocktail was just as impressive as the food. It was made with Ilegal Mezcal, pomegranate, hibiscus yuzu, simple syrup, and egg white, and it was absolutely gorgeous. The egg white gave it a silky, frothy finish, while the pomegranate and hibiscus yuzu added a bright, slightly tart flavor that paired beautifully with the subtle smokiness of the mezcal. It was as pretty as it was delicious. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. It's tucked away in an alley, so it's a little easy to miss, but once you're inside, the space is modern, spacious, and has a really cool stone bar that gives the restaurant a sleek, upscale vibe. I was also pleasantly surprised by the prices. Specialty rolls ranged from about $12-$20, with only a few premium options around $25. The edamame was about $8, so overall I thought the pricing was very fair, especially for Georgetown. Would I come back? Yes... but probably with a much smaller group. The food and ambiance are worth another visit, but I'd definitely be hoping for a better service experience next time. I also hope they have a better handle on inventory because I'd still love to try the Wagyu and finish dinner with the mochi.
