YUM!! Finally tried this place and couldn't recommend more! Love the fish to rice ratio and the pickup order was ready earlier than anticipated. Also, there was an offer for 10% off on their official website. The presentation for a pickup order is so cute I can only imagine how nice the plating is for a sit down meal. I'll definitely order from here again!

Kyo Sushi provides a welcome sushi option to the Urbana + Mt. Airy area, serving up an extensive menu with options for all diners. I ordered a sushi-forward meal for carry out, which was ready in about 30min and handed to me as soon as I entered. While I didn't dine in, the staff was welcoming and friendly for the brief minute that was inside. I did find that I needed to order several vegetarian rolls to build a meal given the 6-piece side. he vegetable roll had a great combination of elements for the filling--avocado, cucumber, asparagus and pickled radish. The sushi tasted fresh overall, but comparatively, not the freshest that I've had. The sweet potato roll had a welcome tempura crunch and the sticky sweet topping paired nicely with a dash of soy sauce umami. A side order of edamame completed a solid vegetarian dinner.

Grabbed takeout from here and was trying it for the first time! This sushi place is a hidden gem in Urbana. I enjoyed an order of Haru Maki (vegetarian spring roll) to start which was delicious and crispy! I also had the miso soup which was pretty typical but came nice and piping hot. For sushi I had the sweet potato roll and crunch roll. They were both a good portion size with a nice flavor and texture! The crunch roll--made of shrimp tempura, avocado and eel sauce-- was presented nicely even in a takeout box! My only criticism is that the crunch tobiko topping the roll was a bit stale tasting. I read other reviews that praised their soy sauce and they were right! There is something different about Kyo's soy sauce... it's not just your typical soy sauce it's a little bit more tangy! Yum! It's so good! The order and pick up process was absolutely seamless! I was able to easily order online and they text you when it's ready and as soon as you walk in the door they hand you your order--super convenient! I will definitely be back to try something else off the menu!

Service was great, atmosphere was comfortable and price was reasonable. Service was out of this world so kind

Whenever I go to Frederick I have to stop by here. They have the freshest food. Got a poke bowl today and it was amazing. 5/5 in my book!

The service is always excellent, this is easily some of the best sushi in Frederick, and they have a couple unique whiskeys for those who enjoy it. Today we tried Lazy Fish because it was recommended by David's colleague. We got the Pork Belly appetizer, Lazy Rainbow, Lazy Shack, and the Lazy Spaghetti which was on the Specials menu when we went. Pork Belly: Although the pork itself was fatty and tender, and a bigger piece than we expected, although waaaaay too much cabbage and a little too sweet from the pineapple for my taste. Lazy Shack and Lazy Rainbow: LOVED these rolls! We were actually impressed by how fresh the fish was?? And the amount and texture of the rice was on point. Multiple tables next to us got the Lazy Rainbow so it seems like a popular one to get. We also appreciated the real crab that they used (although I may have gotten the smallest piece of shell in my Lazy Shack, but it was so good I didn't even care). Lazy Spaghetti: Basically like a massamun beef curry and spaghetti fusion. On the tad spicy side for me. Was really creamy and the sauce to spaghetti ratio was a little heavy (on the sauce side) that I wish there was more spaghetti to soak it up. Definitely would stick to the sushi here (although I'm a sucker for a sushi + hot dish combo). Would consider coming back to try some of their nigiris next time!

Since we were in the company of a bunch of preteens, ice tea and mango bubble thingies were enjoyed by all. (For the future: they have a full bar, with everything from beers to fruity drinks to shots. I didn't see sake on the menu, but I'm not a fan so didn't look really hard). Apps were good, with serving sizes plentiful. We ordered fried calamari (served in stick form, not rings; weird but tasty), really nice tempura, and Ying Yang shrimp (the spicy may sauce was OK, but the wasabi sauce was killer!). For mains we focused on: sushi. Lots and lots of sushi. The rolled sushi menu is very long; the sushi (actually nigiri) and sashimi menu not so much. Nothing on the menu described how big the portions were so the 'dults each ordered a several different selections, both rolls and sushi. This kiddies ordered ramen, and Spousal Unit got Drunken Noodles with Chicken along with a sushi roll. Turns out the rolls were HUGE so we overordered dramatically (pro tip: ask in the future). Everything was fresh and tasty. My only quibble was that the Spider Roll appeared to be fried surimi (artificial crab) not soft shell crab. How could I tell? No legs, baby! We rolled out stuffed, with a doggie bag full of sushi for Daddy Dearest's second dinner. The price was very reasonable, and the quality far better than Lantern Sushi (but not as good as Sushi Nomo or Lazy Fish). Middle-Oldest Grand Daughter's birthday dinner was a success - and I'm already looking forward to next year's!
