My girlfriend and I decided to plan a last second date night in downtown and I have to give her the credit for picking Fire and Oak. We haven't been here since it was Firestones, which sold and is now Fire & Oak. When we arrived close to 6 the bar and their happy hour was absolutely jumping with patrons. The server didn't seem too eager or enthusiastic upon walking in and asking for a table, they DO NOT accept reservations, it's first come first serve. We originally sat at a small two person table, but asked the server if we could move to the large window with a street view of Frederick. Our server was so attentive and accommodating to us! We started off with a couple of cocktails which tasted great. She really liked her peppermint White Russian and my dark and stormy was good, you just have to mix it and the drink is layered. For our entrees I ordered the 12oz ribeye which came with mashed potatoes and the vegetable if the day ($45). The mashed potatoes were puréed and were some of the best I've ever had. They were so buttery and seasoned, I could have eaten an entire bowl. The vegetable of the day was tri-colored carrots which were very good. They still had some firmness to them, which I loved. The steak was good but not great. The cut wasn't the best quality. My girlfriend's blackened shrimp pasta was absolutely delicious. It's well-seasoned and comes with plenty of sauce and shrimp. I will get this dish when we come back! The overall dinner and service was great, we love sitting at the window watching downtown come to life. The inside still feels like it did when it was Firestones. We'll absolutely be back.

Service at 5:30 pm on a Thursday in January 2026 was spectacular. Happy hour had the bar overflowing. Dinner tables slowly filling up. Definitely planning to update when friends arrive and dinner is over. Only downside is "No Reservations Accepted" for dinner. It is first come, first serve.

Lively atmosphere , basic food (burgers, fries, wings) all pretty good. Not a place to take a culinary risk.

Food was so salty for most people at our table that it was inedible. Service was also very slow.

The menu is extensive and slightly overwhelming but there's something for everyone. Whether you want a hot or cold sandwich, a salad or a cup of soup. They have a little bit of everything. We ordered the Fatboy and a cup of white chicken chili. It was plenty for two people to split. We even went back for an extra cup of chili. There's plenty of seating inside. And you can even shop next-door for a beer or wine to go with your Sandwich. We love the vibe of this place and wish we had it back at home.

Good amount of seating. The food, I had gotten their steak sandwich, hesitant not sure if the meat would be tender or the portion would've been worth while, however, it exceeded my expectations! The meat was tender and easy to just bite through and eat! Good flavor and something I'd totally go back for! 4/5! The wings were decent, flavor was good, but too wet for my personal preference, and I prefer a bit more of a crunch with my wings not really a grilled taste but decent, prob wouldn't order again. 3/5

This was Tulip Grill before so I don't know what it looks like now since the hubby picked up our order. Parking is not too bad but be aware that it can get busy due to DD, Lantern Sushi & Roy's are nearby. They notified my hubby that they needed 5 more minutes to get all our order cooked, and put together. Minor comment- though I like the flavor both green and tamarind sauces were a little thin. I like a thicker sauce for dipping. Also the fries though well-seasoned could be crunchier. Still highly recommend trying them out. I have two more meals from my platter.

Everything on the menu is packing a fairly hefty punch of flavor, and the servings are generous. There was a short line when I arrived, but the counter-style service moved pretty quickly and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Sometimes counter-style is surly and brusque; not here. The staff go out of their way to make sure that you get all the toppings you might enjoy. As a first-time customer, I appreciated that. The shop itself is small with some seating but nobody was dining in; this was not because it's not popular (see the aforementioned line), I think they're just primarily geared towards takeout. I'll definitely be back, especially if I'm in the neighborhood anyway.

It was our first time here and we had absolutely no idea what to order. We just saw a bunch of people order soup and once they are out, they are out for the day and they cross it out. By the time we got there around noon, two out of the four available soups were gone. A lot of people were ordering to go and the soup looks substantial rather than soupy. The part about the decor is that you see a garage door in the middle of the place. It's quite chilly inside during winter time, but it has its charm. It's a small non descript place with lots of character and the food and coffee is good. This is one of those places where you're not really looking for a fancy place. You just want good food.
