My girlfriend and I decided to plan a last second date night in downtown and I have to give her the credit for picking Fire and Oak. We haven't been here since it was Firestones, which sold and is now Fire & Oak. When we arrived close to 6 the bar and their happy hour was absolutely jumping with patrons. The server didn't seem too eager or enthusiastic upon walking in and asking for a table, they DO NOT accept reservations, it's first come first serve. We originally sat at a small two person table, but asked the server if we could move to the large window with a street view of Frederick. Our server was so attentive and accommodating to us! We started off with a couple of cocktails which tasted great. She really liked her peppermint White Russian and my dark and stormy was good, you just have to mix it and the drink is layered. For our entrees I ordered the 12oz ribeye which came with mashed potatoes and the vegetable if the day ($45). The mashed potatoes were puréed and were some of the best I've ever had. They were so buttery and seasoned, I could have eaten an entire bowl. The vegetable of the day was tri-colored carrots which were very good. They still had some firmness to them, which I loved. The steak was good but not great. The cut wasn't the best quality. My girlfriend's blackened shrimp pasta was absolutely delicious. It's well-seasoned and comes with plenty of sauce and shrimp. I will get this dish when we come back! The overall dinner and service was great, we love sitting at the window watching downtown come to life. The inside still feels like it did when it was Firestones. We'll absolutely be back.

Visited the Frederick area for work on a Tuesday night and was recommended this lowkey bar & grill by the locals. 2 of our party of 4 were sat right away as we waited for the other two. Drinks were crisp with the perfect pour! I asked for a gimlet which not many places can manage to make right and our server/bartender kicked it out of the park. The atmosphere was so relaxed and we signed up for a spontaneous game of trivia, which began at 7pm. While we waited for the other half of our party to show, we ordered wings (not pictured because they SMACKED before I could snap a photo) and the goat and pistachio flatbread was which was an interesting and creative match. Once the other half of our party showed up we ordered entrees which were fairly large servings so we had to take boxes to go. 4 stars because the pistachio flatbread or the grease from the sandwich did not agree with my stomach. Otherwise I'd visit this place again when in the area.

Service at 5:30 pm on a Thursday in January 2026 was spectacular. Happy hour had the bar overflowing. Dinner tables slowly filling up. Definitely planning to update when friends arrive and dinner is over. Only downside is "No Reservations Accepted" for dinner. It is first come, first serve.

Food was so salty for most people at our table that it was inedible. Service was also very slow.

I have eaten here before, both outside and in the main room and have always been impressed on how nice the restraunt looks. The decor is nice without being distracting. The lighting is perfect and everything is clean. The bathrooms are always clean and well stocked. The staff works together as a team. Domingo takes his job very seriously and it shows. He is a proffesional. He will make suggestions, answer questions and if needed he will ask the kitchen about any diner's concerns. Leah also came by to see how we were doing. Leah is always looking around making sure the dining area is clean, and that diner's have all the appropriate flat and glassware. She is fastidious that everything should be right and in their place. The food was excellent!!! The food is delicious and unpretenious. The Chef offered a brunch menu that looked fantastic. If I hadn't snacked before going to brunch, I would have definitely gone that route. I had the frittata with the breakfast potatoes and it was delicious. I really appreciate that the food is properly seasoned and that the flavors are not covered up by a overpowering sauces. The portions are fair and there is real value for money. Everything is served at the correct temperature. In closing I really enjoy 7th Sister, because there is a real effort to provide great food, with great staff in a wonderful atmosphere.

My go to is the zucchini parmigiana, the pasta they give is lightly creamy and very garlicy with fresh spinach and tomatoes and I couldn't recreate the recipe even if I tried. Thankfully, my server did allow me to substitute the sesame chicken into my Cobb salad, and that was actually a great addition. The frustrating part was that after we had already finished our meals and were ready to leave, my server came back and told me she had been mistaken and that they did, in fact, have kombucha available. At that point it was too late, and unfortunately there wasn't any offer made to make up for the inconvenience. Another disappointment was learning that The Orchard does not offer any type of military appreciation or support. In a community with many veterans and military families, that was something I noticed and found disappointing. Many other local businesses make an effort to show appreciation, and that kind of support goes a long way for those who have served and for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The food was good, but with so many other options in Frederick that offer great food while also making customers and the community feel valued, I don't think I'll be returning. A business's connection to its community matters, and supporting those who have served is something I personally look for when deciding where to spend my money.

This was Tulip Grill before so I don't know what it looks like now since the hubby picked up our order. Parking is not too bad but be aware that it can get busy due to DD, Lantern Sushi & Roy's are nearby. I like a thicker sauce for dipping. Also the fries though well-seasoned could be crunchier. Still highly recommend trying them out. I have two more meals from my platter.

Everything on the menu is packing a fairly hefty punch of flavor, and the servings are generous. There was a short line when I arrived, but the counter-style service moved pretty quickly and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Sometimes counter-style is surly and brusque; not here. The staff go out of their way to make sure that you get all the toppings you might enjoy. As a first-time customer, I appreciated that. The shop itself is small with some seating but nobody was dining in; this was not because it's not popular (see the aforementioned line), I think they're just primarily geared towards takeout. I'll definitely be back, especially if I'm in the neighborhood anyway.

I cannot stress that enough. The soups are phenomenal here and they are filled with stuff inside. You're not going to get that watery type soup.
