I've visited this place 3 times. First time the food was great, service was great, but I had an issue with my bill. I paid with my card and left a cash tip. When I checked my bank transactions I noticed the amount was different than what I signed for. I called and spoke with the manager and she informed me that because they did not have my receipt at the end of the night so they automatically chose a tip amount and added it to my bill. The manager did offer a refund or an in store credit. The second time there were no issues I came and spent the in store credit. The third time I convinced a group of friends to come to enjoy the food and karaoke. I was very embarrassed immediately as I had spoken so highly of the place and we were immediately disappointed starting with the drinks. We sent drinks back several times because the bartender couldn't get it right and the manager had to make it herself. The appetizer was great but the actual meal was dry. The manager did try to rectify all issues that arose. She comp'd several items and also gave a discount.

On a whim. as were walking towards our parked car nearby, my gf and I decided to indulge ourselves in humor as these times have been rough. So our Sunday night was filled with some drinks, good food, and comedy. I'm giving this place a 4 stars because the comedians knocked it out of the park. The last guy who dealt with some hecklers was amazing. So deadpan and ruthless. For drinks, I got a cider mimosa and it was tasty. We also ordered the chicken tender and it was good, a tad bit salty but definitely juicy and tasty. Maybe the nachos are better, but I still enjoyed it. If you like comedy and having some grub/drink, I would recommend checking it out.

They have a pretty decent happy hour menu. The drink Are delicious and there are some tasty seasonal drinks. They also have some pretty good food on happy hour. I really enjoyed the goat cheese fritters though the portion size was a bit small.

Yummmmmm. My friends and I visited this place after we had a girls day at a nearby winery. We were sat immediately and the staff was so polite. We asked our server for suggestions and she definitely delivered . I wish I could remember her name. The food was so flavorful. One of my friends mentioned the sliders were a bit dry, but dipping it in the jam that came with the fritters brought it back to life. The hibiscus margarita was . We left before the dj got there, but I could tell it would've been a good time. Definitely going back!

Great local spot with tasty dishes and drinks. The atmosphere was cool. I felt like I was really in NYC or something going down the stairs to enter the establishment. However keep this in mind if you aren't able to walk down steps. It's called the cellar door for a reason. We visited on a Tuesday night for a double date night which was also open mic comedy night. We got there at 7 and we were the first there, but don't give up on them if you experience this. More ppl showed up by the time the show started a little before 8. Comedians were hit or miss but paired with good company & great drinks you'll either laugh because they're funny or laugh because you're out drinking watching bad comedy on a Tuesday night. Either way it was a chill vibe perfect for parents who just need a break from the kids. Food : I ordered the crab dip which was tasty. The bread that accompanied it was quite hard, not nasty at all just not what I was expecting. It had the texture of a chip. A thick chip. The crab dip also comes with carrots and celery. The celery appeared to have seen better days. It was soggy. My friends ordered the blackened Alfredo, po Bo sandwich and loaded brisket fries. They enjoyed it all. I tasted the brisket fries and baby whatever sauce they drizzle on them O M G ! Bomb- get you some !! Drinks: Jess was the bartender that night and her hands are heavy !! You'll definitely feel your drinks ! Ps this is a good thing ! I ordered a strawberry lemonade vodka. It's basically the Boot Jack Lemonade but I got the rye substituted with vodka because I had no desire to try liquor called rye. My friends also enjoyed their drinks, a mojito and margarita. My husbands drink was nothing to write about...he's doing keto so ...yea! Overall we will be back soon ! It was a nice cool vibe.

The staff itself is absolutely on point. Super attentive, knowledge, easy to get their attention. The food is lackluster, over-seasoned fries, under-seasoned chicken. I think this is more of a spot to pop in for a cocktail, impressive cocktail menu for sure, rather than a place to get a great meal especially given all the options around. For a nightcap, I'd pop in again

What a great time, the food is delicious, the drinks are great, and the staff as attentive and great. The vibe is definitely an upscale bar, don't come dressed to the nines, but come as you are. I welcoming warm space where are you can have a drink and unwind at the end of the day. The music is great, the people are friendly, and the food is delicious. Would come again!

Crab bites with corn relish and remolade sauce.

The Cellar Door might remind you of a bar and restaurant from college but the food is actually decent. I came here for dinner last night for Restaurant Week, $30 for a 3 course meal? Unbeatable. Appetizer: Crab bites with corn relish and remolade sauce. The bites had a crunch to it and meaty in the middle. The remolade sauce complemented the crab bites but the corn relish would have been better served warm than cold. Main Course: Scallop adobo with mushroom and sweet soy reduction served with garlic rice and asparagus. Pan seared scallops and mushrooms are my absolute favorite so it only made sense to order this. They were cooked perfectly and the sauce had a sweet and savory taste to it. The garlic rice wasn't too overpowering in the palate which was delightful. I always prefer my asparagus crisp and tender but it was over cooked and wasn't seasoned very well. Dessert: Chocolate mousse. You can't go wrong with chocolate! It wasn't too sweet and perfectly paired with a few pieces of raspberries. I told my friend that it would've been nice if the cup holding the mousse was an actual chocolate and sure enough it was! I broke the cup with my spoon and when I found out it was chocolate I was so excited. Our server Eric was nice enough to give my friend an extra chocolate cup! Located in Downtown Frederick and parking is within walking distance (Church St. Garage). They had one server with a few working the kitchen which might be why a few things were off. There were pros and a few cons with dinner but I would give this place another go.

There's a lot of potential here, but when your wagyu burger costs more than Le Diplomate's iconic burger in DC, I'm expecting something amazing. Every ingredient was very seasoned on its own, but when combined, the burger was overwhelmingly salty. I could barely taste anything besides salt. The cocktails were also overly sweet, and I regrettably had to send them back a couple of times. That said, our waiter's service was excellent. But this place needs a lot of improvement. Our party of four sampled a wine flight, a delicious cocktail called the "Gone Girl," and two local beers. Everything was excellent. We had barely taken a few sips before our table was ready. We were seated by the window, which was perfect because the natural light made the space feel bright and inviting. The service was stellar and the restaurant runs like a well-oiled machine. We had four different staff members taking care of us, the hostess, bartender, our server, and manager who kept the table spotless by clearing plates and refreshing silverware between courses. We started with the dill pickle hummus, which was a vibrant green hummus infused with fresh dill pickle flavor and chickpeas, served with a generous helping of fried falafel balls. It was unique and absolutely delicious. For entrees, our group had a great mix. The mushroom strudel came with a lovely side salad and was buttery, warm, earthy, and full of flavor. Two diners chose the smash burgers with beef tallow fries, which were a big hit. A big standout was the KBBBQ riblet with fries, a substantial boneless BBQ rib slab that got rave reviews. The Wine Kitchen definitely has it going on. Great food, great drinks, and outstanding service. A perfect spot for a celebration!

The place seemed a little smaller then what was seen in pictures, however the Decor did not disappoint- very festive with glistening balls on the ceiling, a Santa in the corner adjacent to distillery drums, packages wrapped on the wall, etc. My friend and I got one of the last seats available- the place is really popular and had lines prior to Sunday. There really wasn't a food option but could be ordered and delivered. I opted for a rum apple beverage and we got the Cocktail flight. Of these-zombie, Mai Tai, Painkiller, Puffer Fish and MAC-Nut Chi Chi the latter was my favorite. Mac-nut Liqueur, pineapple and Coconut (contains nuts) very tasty- even tho it said "summer" Vodka- very refreshing for Winter. Stopped into True Standard Distilling during the Frederick St. Patty's Day bar crawl and the place was absolutely buzzing all day. As a rum distillery, everything on the cocktail menu leans rum which makes things interesting, especially when they remix classics that usually feature other spirits. I tried their take on a negroni and it was surprisingly really well done. It kept that familiar bitter and balanced profile but with a unique rum twist that made it stand out. The interior was unexpected but in a good way. They were still fully committed to a Valentine's Day theme with pink everywhere and a massive faux chocolate candy wall right when you walk in. It honestly felt like stepping into a mini Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, which added a fun and memorable touch. Despite the crowd, service was quick and efficient. The bartenders clearly knew what they were doing and kept drinks moving without sacrificing quality. Overall, this is a great, high-energy stop if you're spending the day drinking your way around Frederick. Definitely worth popping into, especially if you want something a little different from the usual beer spots.

Made a reservation not like you really need one, but we made one and was seated down pretty quickly. The host was nice and friendly and the wait staff said hello to us within the five minutes of us seating. I appreciated how family-friendly this place was, they give these cute little animal boxes with different things inside and crayons to keep the kids entertained. The decoration is fun with a lot of outdoor vibes and stuffed real animals. They bring out a side of chip and a yogurt dill dip that's interesting, a fun idea. The food, mhm so we ordered a lot! Crab dip: 2.5/5 not too bad but not memorable, okay amount of crab, flavors were too heavy on the cream cheese/fillers but just okay, they need more bread with it but the chips helped. Prob wouldn't order again Crab cake: 3.8/5 pretty good size and good amount of crab and good flavor probably the best dish that we had ordered here! Would get again. Burger: 3/5 granted I did order this medium well for my kid, but the burger was charred a little too much around the burger, giving it a sort of dry crunch on the edges and charcoal burn vibes. Not my favorite texture that I would want on a burger, but perhaps it would've been different if I ordered a medium? Bread itself was a little stale/crunchy which I did not prefer how it was cooked/prepared. Overall, it was just okay. Ribs: 2.5/5 the ribs were half off ribs so I decided to go for it because of the good deal. But it was just okay, being that Blackhog barbecue is right next-door (thier dry rub ribs are amazing), I would hope that they would step up their barbecue rib game. For a " full rack" there were only nine bones and seemed a little smaller than what I'm used to. It's very heavy on the sauce which I didn't think was the best pairing and wasn't the best flavor bbq sauce. Overall, I wouldn't order it again. Steak kabob: 3.2/5 this was actually pretty tender for the cut of meat, I'm surprised that I didn't have to work for it so I was happy about that! The only criticism that we have is that the meat itself did not have that much flavor or seasoning and there's only one skewer of meat and one skewer of veggies. Meaning the total amount of meat that was probably on that dish was no more than 4 -5 ounces of steak. And for that price point, I would want a little bit more meat. Mac and Cheese: 3.5/5 pretty good for a kids Mac! Good cheese and flavor was impressed! Overall, the service and the host in the experience of being there was pretty good, but the food was a little lacking not sure if I would go again, but it was on our right experience in terms of food
