We have not been here for a while and we were glad it was no wait. Service was excellent. My wife had the Shrimp and Grits and loved it. I tried the Fish and Chips and destroyed it. Unfortunately we did not take any pictures of our entries but we did take a picture of the clean plate club. The chef even came out and checked on us. Highly recommend Truth and Beauty. It was was great atmosphere, we sat outside by the creek.

Truth and Beauty has an adorable little patio on the canal. The patio is dog friendly! They were not busy when we went on a Wednesday at 6, which is so odd because we had a great experience! The server was really nice and helped us make decisions. I ordered a lavender lemon cocktail that was delicious. My husband ordered an IPA that he liked. They were sadly out of the two dishes we wanted to try, but what we ordered was good. We had a side salad, cheese grits, the pork belly, and seared salmon.

Visited Truth and Beauty for a late lunch. Small but mighty menu. Each item properly positioned to fulfill a hungry customer. I heard the waitress mentioned the go to's & popular items and she had me at shrimp and grits. Not an item I get to eat often at home (San Diego) and something I'd been craving lately. The shrimp and grits were delicious. A "smaller" portion but executed so well you dont need a larger portion. The restaurant is smaller with just a few tables and a small bar. We walked in and were able to get seated immediately. Highly recommend!

Stopped in on a Sunday about 1230 and was able to be seated right away. We opted for outside under an umbrella for shade, but there was open seating available inside as well. Outdoor area is small, but there's great people watching along the creek. Inside was cute & bright. We started with the deviled eggs and they were pretty good. Pleasantly pleased that the Old bay was not overpowering. We loved that you ordered how many you wanted and it wasn't a set quantity. Long wait for mains, blamed the wait on the steak but it seemed a bit excessive considering they weren't terribly busy. Even though my friend got her steak well done (who does that?) it was still super tender and flavorful. She opted for sprouts on the side instead of potatoes, especially after the server said they were known for them. They were pretty good, but could have used more sauce. I had an egg special with polenta, prosciutto , and pesto. I was an expecting a burst of flavor but was disappointed. Will it it could have been my fault because I got the egg fried hard since I don't like runny eggs. Maybe that's how the dish pops. Side salad was decent but didn't have nearly enough dressing. The server happily brought more when requested.

This spot in downtown Frederick is perfect for brunch! They open at 11am and we got there at 11:30. Only 15 minute wait and there was a huge presence of people hanging out along Carroll Creek with lots of outdoor seating to wait. Our waitress was Maureen and she was lovely. We got Blackberry Mimosas and a Bloody Mary and they were really good! The special today was Steak and Eggs with the steak being Filet Mignon ... it didn't last long that's for sure haha. I got the Downtown and my friend for the Everything Bagel sandwich and all of us gave the food an average of 7.5 out of 10. The real winner of the meal was the dessert! They have a chocolate cake and raspberry sorbet and the two together were unreal delicious. We all agreed we would come back just for those. Overall, this place is a winner!

First time here since this restaurant opened in this space (had been here before when it was Donners). Not much of the interior had changed, which felt nice. Very nice artwork on the walls. Our waitress was also the hostess, I think she may have been the only server in the restaurant. We had several appetizers at the table. I had the beets with an herb yogurt. It was ok, tasted like canned beets. Nothing special. My husband enjoyed the cream of crab soup. For dinner we had a huge variety. I enjoyed the fish and chips, which was a huge amount of yumminess. My husband had the chicken pot pie, and he said it was dry and not the best, he'd order something else when we go again. I'd say the food was good, not great. Service was excellent, location is primo! Well give it another try and wish them the best. It's an excellent spot with great views and easy parking.

Fish and chips, salmon, and pork loin were very good. The two burgers we ordered were burnt, both the medium rare and well done. After asking for new burgers they were still overcooked as the medium rare was past well done. Besides that the server was very nice and everything else was very good.

We go to Frederick from DC 4 or 5 times a year to enjoy the walks around Carrol Creek. I think we've eaten here the last 3 times and enjoyed it each time. Food is simple and good and the service is always good.

    Amazing burger on a donut!

Outstanding restaurant and bar with food items packed with punch and delish cocktails. This is a small-midsize restaurant with a simple menu, but well thought out. When reading the menu, you can tell they pay attention to detail. I came here for brunch recently and I was impressed. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. We chose indoors. We ordered a bagel breakfast sandwich served with egg, cheese and other fixings, along with a fresh fruit cup sprinkled with powdered sugar. We also had this amazing burger with an egg on top served on a donut!!...with freshly cut, thick fries. The flavors on both items were well balanced and delicious. Cocktails were superb and the coffee was nice and hot. Service was attentive and welcoming. I would like to go back and check out the bar one evening and sit outside and enjoy the view along Caroll Creek.

This is my sister and my first time here. We wanted a lite lunch and few items to share. This was the perfect place for that. We didn't love everything but definitely left satisfied. It was a unusually warm December day so we opted for outside seating. Only complaint is that the tables outside were very very small so not a great setup when you want to share dishes. The seared scallops were absolutely amazing. The scallops and ginger sauce were a perfect pairing. The deviled eggs were delicious. Fried Pork Belly dish- we loved the pork belly but not together with the corn/cheese. Separately they were good but not together. The grilled ceasar was delightful. Good dressing. Solid dish. Would definitely return and try other dishes.

OK, I did not order the burger and fries, but my boyfriend did, and I ate half the fries on his plate, they were that good! Great, friendly, with generous pours for wine, and just a really friendly, great place with perfect food for a winter day. I wish I could find a place like this in Washington, DC.

There's a lot of potential here, but when your wagyu burger costs more than Le Diplomate's iconic burger in DC, I'm expecting something amazing. Every ingredient was very seasoned on its own, but when combined, the burger was overwhelmingly salty. I could barely taste anything besides salt. The cocktails were also overly sweet, and I regrettably had to send them back a couple of times. That said, our waiter's service was excellent. But this place needs a lot of improvement. Way too salty, too greasy, and overpriced.

Stopped into True Standard Distilling during the Frederick St. Patty's Day bar crawl and the place was absolutely buzzing all day. As a rum distillery, everything on the cocktail menu leans rum which makes things interesting, especially when they remix classics that usually feature other spirits. I tried their take on a negroni and it was surprisingly really well done. It kept that familiar bitter and balanced profile but with a unique rum twist that made it stand out. The interior was unexpected but in a good way. They were still fully committed to a Valentine's Day theme with pink everywhere and a massive faux chocolate candy wall right when you walk in. It honestly felt like stepping into a mini Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, which added a fun and memorable touch. Despite the crowd, service was quick and efficient. The bartenders clearly knew what they were doing and kept drinks moving without sacrificing quality. Overall, this is a great, high-energy stop if you're spending the day drinking your way around Frederick. Definitely worth popping into, especially if you want something a little different from the usual beer spots.

The place seemed a little smaller then what was seen in pictures, however the Decor did not disappoint- very festive with glistening balls on the ceiling, a Santa in the corner adjacent to distillery drums, packages wrapped on the wall, etc. My friend and I got one of the last seats available- the place is really popular and had lines prior to Sunday. There really wasn't a food option but could be ordered and delivered. I opted for a rum apple beverage and we got the Cocktail flight. Of these-zombie, Mai Tai, Painkiller, Puffer Fish and MAC-Nut Chi Chi the latter was my favorite. Mac-nut Liqueur, pineapple and Coconut (contains nuts) very tasty- even tho it said "summer" Vodka- very refreshing for Winter. Highly recommend- a little pricey but fun vibe; even some beverage containers e.g., Santa's boot were available for purchase. The owners's influence was a trip to Puerto Rico and I can relate! It wasn't the best Reuben I ever had, but it wasn't bad either. The fries could've probably been a little crispier. Made a reservation not like you really need one, but we made one and was seated down pretty quickly. The host was nice and friendly and the wait staff said hello to us within the five minutes of us seating. I appreciated how family-friendly this place was, they give these cute little animal boxes with different things inside and crayons to keep the kids entertained. The decoration is fun with a lot of outdoor vibes and stuffed real animals. They bring out a side of chip and a yogurt dill dip that's interesting, a fun idea. The food, mhm so we ordered a lot! Crab dip: 2.5/5 not too bad but not memorable, okay amount of crab, flavors were too heavy on the cream cheese/fillers but just okay, they need more bread with it but the chips helped. Prob wouldn't order again Crab cake: 3.8/5 pretty good size and good amount of crab and good flavor probably the best dish that we had ordered here! Would get again. Burger: 3/5 granted I did order this medium well for my kid, but the burger was charred a little too much around the burger, giving it a sort of dry crunch on the edges and charcoal burn vibes. Not my favorite texture that I would want on a burger, but perhaps it would've been different if I ordered a medium? Bread itself was a little stale/crunchy which I did not prefer how it was cooked/prepared. Overall, it was just okay. Ribs: 2.5/5 the ribs were half off ribs so I decided to go for it because of the good deal. But it was just okay, being that Blackhog barbecue is right next-door (thier dry rub ribs are amazing), I would hope that they would step up their barbecue rib game. For a " full rack" there were only nine bones and seemed a little smaller than what I'm used to. It's very heavy on the sauce which I didn't think was the best pairing and wasn't the best flavor bbq sauce. Overall, I wouldn't order it again. Steak kabob: 3.2/5 this was actually pretty tender for the cut of meat, I'm surprised that I didn't have to work for it so I was happy about that! The only criticism that we have is that the meat itself did not have that much flavor or seasoning and there's only one skewer of meat and one skewer of veggies. Meaning the total amount of meat that was probably on that dish was no more than 4 -5 ounces of steak. And for that price point, I would want a little bit more meat. Mac and Cheese: 3.5/5 pretty good for a kids Mac! Good cheese and flavor was impressed! Overall, the service and the host in the experience of being there was pretty good, but the food was a little lacking not sure if I would go again, but it was on our right experience in terms of food
