Stopped by for an after lunch cocktail. The bar was still set up in holiday decorations. Our bartender was very helpful offering drink suggestions. My wife got a rum old fashioned with peppermint syrup. I tried a cocktail flight. A few were a little sweet but all tasty.

Ok.. First, we had to wait outside in the freezing cold for about 30 minutes because it was so packed inside. We were hoping it was worth it and boy was it! If they would have doubled the area, I have no doubt it would still have been full. The decorations were amazing! It felt so festive and bright! The mocktails and cocktails were all holiday-themed. No complaints at all really because once you get in, you forget about the wait! Highly recommend this place anytime!

I was excited to check True Standard out as one of the newer distilleries in Frederick. My sister had an event that day so we decided to continue the celebration there. The set up and ambiance was nice, with plenty of seating options. There was also parking available across the street, which is also a bonus in downtown Frederick. I shared a tasting with hubs and tried the vodka, and the runs. I selected the oxford reserve, spiced, and dark spiced. I enjoyed the dark spiced the most. It seemed to have more flavor. I wasn't a fan of the vodka in comparison to others Ive had. The gentleman at the bar, I cant remember his name, but he was amazing. He was helpful and had a great sense of humor. I did order the old fashioned, but unfortunately I couldn't drink anymore due to a migraine. Overall, I enjoyed the ambiance and set up, but as far as the rum itself, Im not sure that I am able to enjoy them. I think its a great experience for those who enjoy trying out various distilleries and should definitely give them a try. Also, most of our party seemed to enjoy the painkillers, so might be worth a try as well.

I popped in during Maryland Wine weekend which was also their soft opening weekend and I wouldn't have known had someone not told me! The space is beautiful, the cocktails are great and the service didnt miss a beat. I love that they had people taking photos and signing a guest book to keep as a keepsake. The only thing that could have made me add that extra star is if they would have had tastings of their spirits, I would have love to taste their creations straight.

The newest distillery in town making tasty rum. I came here on a soft opening night during A Maryland Wine Experience last month. They collaborated with a couple wineries to make some fun cocktails (see pics). The space is beautiful and their still is gorgeous; photo ready! Looking forward to coming back ovee the summer. I can't wait to see how their story unfolds.

Awesome new spot in downtown Frederick located next to the post office! I had a rum flight and it was tasty. Ciarán was great, super friendly. The whole vibe is laid-back, and the cocktails looked amazing too. There's a small parking lot right across the street, and if that's full, there's a garage less than a 5-minute walk away. Definitely worth checking out!

This was my second visit to True Standard - and just like the first time, I had a great experience. The holiday drinks are festive and delicious- all served in holiday glassware. The staff is friendly and efficient and the holiday decor makes you feel like you are in a Hallmark holiday movie! I can't wait to go back - I highly recommend!

We stopped by after some holiday shopping on a Sunday afternoon . The distillery was at capacity when we arrived, so we had to wait a few minutes but it was well worth it! The drinks were festive and delicious. The staff were attentive and helpful; the owner was making the rounds ensuring everyone was happy. Great vibe - highly recommend!

It filled up fast, and there was a lively bar crowd, and also an engagement party celebration upstairs. All of the servers were so friendly, and happy to share their favorite dishes and beers, etc. We started with the wings, which were great, and then we had the house salad with salmon and the burger and fries. OK, I did not order the burger and fries, but my boyfriend did, and I ate half the fries on his plate, they were that good! Great, friendly, with generous pours for wine, and just a really friendly, great place with perfect food for a winter day. I wish I could find a place like this in Washington, DC.

There's a lot of potential here, but when your wagyu burger costs more than Le Diplomate's iconic burger in DC, I'm expecting something amazing. Every ingredient was very seasoned on its own, but when combined, the burger was overwhelmingly salty. I could barely taste anything besides salt. The cocktails were also overly sweet, and I regrettably had to send them back a couple of times. That said, our waiter's service was excellent. But this place needs a lot of improvement. Way too salty, too greasy, and overpriced.

I love how some people made signs that said ICE not wanted at the Ice Festival. Joe and I stopped at a place called Wags to get warm and a late lunch. You had to go down some steps to enter this basement bar/ restaurant. It was a toss between Fells Point meets Peabody book club. Joe was entirely intimidated. Dark, dingy, crowded with everyone from bikers, to Boomers to yuppies to kids. Luckily, a couple was getting up and we found a table. Joe actually ordered a cocktail apple cranberry whiskey, LOL. The Waitresses were scurrying around efficiently and we were able to place our order. The menu looked like bistro comfort food that I found on Yelp as we were leaving the Glass Warehouse close by. We had no idea what to expect but walking downtown Frederick on Market Street is always a pleasure. The food and the service were outstanding! Totally exceeded our expectations. The quality, quantity and value for your buck totally unexpected. And Joe went from being intimidated to inspired! Joe liked Wags so much that he left a $30 tip, which doesn't seem unusual but the bill was only $40 including drinks! On the way out I shook hands with a guy named Carlos who introduced himself as one of the owners . I observed him wearing every hat, from serving food to scraping plates and cleaning. if I have to drag my man to my glass Warehouse almost 2 hours away from home I better feed him, LOL we will definitely be back. Gr8 vibes, gr8 food, gr8 service on the down low. Took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. #WAGS #WAGSWAITRESSESROCK #FREDERICKMD #BESTSMALLTOWNFREDERICKMD #anythinginstainedglassc

Driving through the area late at night, we stumbled across Wag's with a craving for burgers. Though we weren't there to drink since we had a drive ahead of us, we loved watching the other patrons enjoying the bar scene. With daily specials and a great basement vibe, I can see why people love Wags. As for the food: the burger was just alright - but what can you expect when your meal is less than $10 per person? It honestly was perfect for the price point. The Wag Burger claimed to have a special sauce but we didn't taste it, which was fine because the burger was juicy, greasy, and hit the spot. The Philly cheese steak had a bit more flavor than the burger and was also a solid choice. Fries are fresh and made in-house, and I appreciated that you can salt them yourself and decide what toppings you might want to add. The menu is honestly huge for a dive bar, and all the food was solid. Shoutout to the staff here because after hearing how some drunk customers were treating them, they deserve all the tips in the world. Despite the staff being berated, dealing with intoxicated patrons threatening to run around nude, all while waiting tables with ease and kindness - you all deserve raises.

Made a reservation not like you really need one, but we made one and was seated down pretty quickly. The host was nice and friendly and the wait staff said hello to us within the five minutes of us seating. I appreciated how family-friendly this place was, they give these cute little animal boxes with different things inside and crayons to keep the kids entertained. The decoration is fun with a lot of outdoor vibes and stuffed real animals. They bring out a side of chip and a yogurt dill dip that's interesting, a fun idea. The food, mhm so we ordered a lot! Crab dip: 2.5/5 not too bad but not memorable, okay amount of crab, flavors were too heavy on the cream cheese/fillers but just okay, they need more bread with it but the chips helped. Prob wouldn't order again Crab cake: 3.8/5 pretty good size and good amount of crab and good flavor probably the best dish that we had ordered here! Would get again. Burger: 3/5 granted I did order this medium well for my kid, but the burger was charred a little too much around the burger, giving it a sort of dry crunch on the edges and charcoal burn vibes. Not my favorite texture that I would want on a burger, but perhaps it would've been different if I ordered a medium? Bread itself was a little stale/crunchy which I did not prefer how it was cooked/prepared. Overall, it was just okay. Ribs: 2.5/5 the ribs were half off ribs so I decided to go for it because of the good deal. But it was just okay, being that Blackhog barbecue is right next-door (thier dry rub ribs are amazing), I would hope that they would step up their barbecue rib game. For a " full rack" there were only nine bones and seemed a little smaller than what I'm used to. It's very heavy on the sauce which I didn't think was the best pairing and wasn't the best flavor bbq sauce. Overall, I wouldn't order it again. Steak kabob: 3.2/5 this was actually pretty tender for the cut of meat, I'm surprised that I didn't have to work for it so I was happy about that! The only criticism that we have is that the meat itself did not have that much flavor or seasoning and there's only one skewer of meat and one skewer of veggies. Meaning the total amount of meat that was probably on that dish was no more than 4 -5 ounces of steak. And for that price point, I would want a little bit more meat. Mac and Cheese: 3.5/5 pretty good for a kids Mac! Good cheese and flavor was impressed! Overall, the service and the host in the experience of being there was pretty good, but the food was a little lacking not sure if I would go again, but it was on our right experience in terms of food
