I have been to Prospect Point Brewing a few times now, and I really enjoy this place. It's family-friendly, dog-friendly, laid-back, and just has a great community atmosphere. This time around, I actually chose Prospect Point as the place to celebrate my birthday--and it was such a good choice! I didn't even realize they were having Oktoberfest when I made the plans, so that was a really fun surprise. They had vendors, food trucks, live music, and even a contest going on. The weather was BEAUTIFUL--around 79 degrees--and it honestly couldn't have been a better day to be outside. The kids had a great time on the playground, which has actually been upgraded since the last time we visited. There are picnic tables throughout the property, some covered and some not, and the whole place has this really relaxed, come-as-you-are kind of vibe. It felt like one big community gathering, with everyone just hanging out and enjoying themselves. And the drinks! I had the strawberry lemonade seltzer and a strawberry hard slushie, and both were good. The slushies were definitely a hit with our group. My brother got a lemonade slushie, a couple of friends had peach, and several of us had strawberry. Everyone was basically saying, "This is DELICIOUS!" The food trucks were good, too, and we were able to bring our own food. We brought a charcuterie board, donuts, and cake for the birthday celebration, which worked out perfectly. Another thing I appreciate is how quickly the drink service moves. Even when there are a lot of people, the line moves pretty efficiently. They also allow you to sample something before deciding what you want, which I think is a great touch. They have porta-potties, but they also have an actual restroom available, and listen...PRAISE GOD. We didn't even need to use it this time, but I appreciate knowing it's there! You can't bring your own alcohol or coolers, but you can bring your own food, which gives you plenty of flexibility. And if you're there late enough for the lights to come on, the atmosphere gets even prettier. We weren't there quite that late this time, but I've seen it before and it's such a nice ambiance. The best part is that Prospect Point is only about 10 minutes from my house, so it's incredibly convenient for me. But even if it weren't that close, I'd still come back. We had such a good time celebrating my birthday, and everyone in our group kept commenting on what a nice place it was. First time at this brewery. We were attending an event. Location is so close to our house that this might be our go to spot to chill and hang out with friends. Love the lights and ambiance when it's dark Sabor de Cuba was the food truck that day and the empanadas were made fresh and tasted good. Beer selections were decent. I had the "limelight cerveza" and hubby had "hop dreams." Both tasted good. Will have to try other brews/flavors. The staff were very helpful with their beer/server recommendations. read more

Cool, chill, and nice outdoor brewery in fredrick. Came here on a weekend and there was plenty of space. Only down side is if it's busy then the line is pretty long to order inside. Service and ordering is quick. They have a food truck outside that sold cuban cuisine and it was good. read more

We're not big beer drinkers, but we were looking for a central meeting point where the kids could run around. There's a ton of outdoor seating - dozens of picnic tables - some shaded - and Adirondack chairs. There's a decent playground (but not a lot for toddlers), and some lawn space. The service was friendly (even though we didn't buy beer!). I did try a hard frozen mixed berry slushy, but it wasn't very frozen. We bought soft drinks from both the bar and the food truck, and pizza, also from the food truck. It got crowded as the evening wore on, which was kinda fun, but I'm glad we got there early enough to get a parking spot. read more

This is the perfect place to come hang out with a large group! They have an insane amount of outdoor seating, plus a playground to keep the kids entertained. You can bring your dog, too! While they don't serve food, you can typically find a food truck outside or you're welcome to bring your own picnic, like we did. We came here with our cousins and I was the only one who doesn't drink, but I was thrilled to find that they had about SIX different non-alcoholic beers to choose from! Prospect Point is an awesome spot to spend an evening, especially with a group of friends or family in tow. Tons of space to spread out, plenty of picnic tables, and a bonus for families: a large playset for kids to run around on. The live music was great and could be heard even down the hill from where he was playing. The frozen drinks were a hit. Our group tried every flavor (mango, peach, strawberry, and mixed berry) and honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. Super refreshing, especially if you're not a beer aficionado. There were lots of beers to choose from if that's more your thing, including sours and seltzers. There was a taco truck parked out front, which was really good, though it was the only food option. It would be nice for a few more lawn games to take advantage of all the open space. We ended up playing on the one cornhole set, and then brought out our own Spikeball (which seemed to be totally fine given there was lots of room). I've been here a few times since I've moved to Frederick and they normally have the same content drinks on draft. This time their draft was full of new beers that I've never seen and they did not disappoint. I absolutely love the location and scenery of Prospect and now their beer game is coming in very strong. I would out them up against the best in Frederick! It's a bit on the small side but they have plenty of outdoor space where you can rent fire pits and have a great time. Prospect brewing is always a good choice. The brews are awesome with lots of different options both light and not lol but I only drink light beer. They work through their lines really quickly have games for families to play and recently put in a second playground. I love that the atmosphere is welcoming to dogs. I went on Saturday during their grand opening weekend. We went around three PM. We were greeted by a few high school age young men who guided us to parking. We entered through the side entrance where all of the outdoor seating and patio is. There are dozens and dozens of nice sturdy picnic style tables with most covered by umbrellas. There was an outdoor pour station that had all beers except for the Homebrew which was inside only. The indoors is nice and a decent sized table space for indoor seating. There were I believe two or three registers to order beer. One person took your order and another stood by and listened and immediately went and poured your beer so you weren't waiting around. The beer was tasty and a nice mix of IPAs, hazy, English ale and Pilsner. I liked the plastic cups with the logo on it. They also were giving away free stickers. I collect brewery stickers so that was an awesome bonus for me. This is one if not the only I have seen in Maryland that you can get pitchers of beer. Cool idea for a group of people, especially on a hot day. It was my understanding they had a food truck for each day of the weekend. I am not sure if they will her a food truck every day they are open in the future. The truck on the day I went was a nice mix of Greek and Mexican food (D's Delights). The wait was long but the food was tasty. I will definitely be back in the future. It seems they have plenty of awesome ideas in the future like four packs of beer to go. read more

Omg How much do I adore this place? Let me count the ways! You dont have to worry about your kids bc they have a playground and a yummy food truck! Knowledgable and super laid back friendly staff! I mean You can just tell the sever loved his job. He gave us a sample and we chatted a bit which was really nice bc me and my hubby just escaped from Florida and we are brand new to MD, so that chat meant a lot. I had a blueberry wheat beer and my hubby had, Drink your wheaties. Very yummy. The place was very clean and they had water tanks both inside and outside which you never see in breweries. When you think of family owned and operated... picture Prospect Point Brewing We came over on a COLD Saturday in February and the vibe was warm from the moment we crossed the threshold. From the warm welcome to our family (two little kids and two doggos) to the sanctuary from the freeze, it's full of positive vibes and perfect atmosphere. Then there is the obvious, the beer. We tasted most of the IPAs on the menu as well as the seltzer and the Oktoberfest and nothing disappointed. It's evident that the owners pay great attention to the detail in every aspect of their business. There was only one food truck at the time & I didn't like the selection. The land is so big & that it could have provided at least two or three food trucks. The beer is excellent. The service is pretty good when it's not crowded. I love how it is set up in a farm-looking place with fire pits, picnic tables & outdoor lighting. So beautiful. Children & dog friendly. The driveway to this place needs better lighting at night. Otherwise, it's a great local brewery. Just wish they added more selection of hard seltzer. read more
