Roller Monkey (chocolate peanut butter porter)
Melinda S.

This was a cool brewery in Frederick. Bar staff were friendly and attentive. They serve food in their back area, but we were just stopping in for beer so didn't try it this time. I tried a peanut butter chocolate porter that was really good and a barleywine that was decent. My bf tried a sour and a fruited wheat and enjoyed them. It was a cool, casual vibe. Overall, it was a nice brewery and I'd return again to try more brews and try their attached burger spot!

Fun place to grab a drink with friends. Free parking at 15 E 6th Street (sharing a lot with Gravel abd Grind.) Fifty and Fifty is attached if you get hungry. I wanted a sour beer but they didn't have one currently, Schitzengiggl was recommended. It was a great recommendation.

The access to Fifty Fifty burgers and the Old Fashions make this place something to return to. I don't particularly like beer, so take that into consideration. I personally like that they offer a few options for non beer drinkers. Not to big inside and their hours shocked me (close at 10 on a Friday!)

Spacious brewery located at the end of downtown frederick. Inside they have fifty fifty burger joint and man a wonderful addition to it. Nothing like waiting for your food and drinking a hoppy beer while there. They carry a variety of beer and some wine and cocktails too for the ladies. An assortment of games to play at your table in the dining area or depending which day or weekend they have live music. Worth checking out!

I always enjoy the location of olde mother. It's an ice little brewery that is always friendly. My only gripe is they never seem to have a lot on tap but they have plenty of can pour options. I'm excited to try their newest sour here shortly

A nice space just outside of downtown Frederick. Their selection was small, but the brews we tried were really good. There is no food onsite so do not come hungry

this brewery is a casual spot to hang out with friends. They have a wide selection of beers and ciders ranging from IPAs to sour beers. They also have board games that you can play while sipping one of their beverages. They have a menu of each draft that they offer with a description of their flavor profile. The bartenders are very nice and helpful. They allowed me to sample a few of their drafts before choosing the one that I like the most. I chose one of their ciders, which was very light crisp and refreshing.

Awesome brewery in downtown Frederick. It's not walkable to any of the other downtown breweries on Carroll creek, but it's a very close car ride. They have an average amount of beer on tap. There's bar seating, tables near the bar and a whole separate connecting room where the brewing is done with big tables and a stage for bands. Large amount of merch and cooler packed full of to go cans. This brewery openly supports LGTQ+ and has merch and a flag out front. If you don't agree with them, who cares, just enjoy the great beer! They have an on site kitchen that has delicious smash burgers. This place is kid friendly but no dogs allowed inside so keep that in mind. This is one of my favorite Frederick breweries.

Plenty to like here. Good beer. Good service. Nice family pub like vibe. Good location. Free parking. Check out the Dewayo Beast a 10% ABV Imperial Stout. It's brewed with coffee, Mecco chipotles, and roasted pistachios. I didn't really taste the chipotles, but the coffee and the nuttiness of the pistachios came through and were really good. Many imperial stouts have a syrup like consistency, but this more crisp and dry. Was also very impressed with the Blackout Black IPA, which balanced out the strong hops with a good roasted malt.

Cheeseburger, french fries and a beer

I got a food order to go. The food is fantastic double cheeseburger, plain and fries because I eat like a two-year-old staff was great and picked up some beer to take home. Would absolutely recommend anyone to go there.

In a beer town like Frederick it's hard for a brewery to stick out. Olde Mother Brewing sticks out in all the good ways. Here's how: 1) Location: Along N. Market Street, they are a large brewery across the street from the 1913 Junior Fire Company. They have two bars on the inside with plenty of seating at limited capacity during the pandemic. The back room is massive with high industrial ceilings. They also have a small outdoor patio along the side. 2) Beer: They have a wide range of beers. My wife loves IPAs and both their options are among the best she's had. As a sour ale fan, I was excited to see two on the menu. Both were excellent, but the Flemish-style, barrel-aged sour was unique. I've never had anything like it! 3) Service: The bartenders were friendly and attentive and efficient. Despite being busy, we didn't have to wait long due to how they pay attention to every customer. If you like beer, stop by Olde Mother Brewing when in Frederick!

Great place for a soaking wet burger. I thought they sold beer here. Nothing on tap, nothing in the fridge.

Wanted a flight but the beers I wanted for the flight were from cans so could not be included, opted for the Pilsner, it was ok. The inside was very messy, the board games all messy and the merch rack needed some attention. The indoor seated room smells musky and the setas were all messy even though no one was in there because we were all at the patio. The patio on a nice weather day is perfect, and there was live music as well. A pizza truck outside and a good crowd of people. However, it was a day that needed more than one overwhelmed beertender. The lines at times were out the door. Went in for a second beer but the kolsch cans were not opening, the line became longer as the beertender tried her best to get a few open with no success. Ended up ordering the same beer as there was no other one on the menu that I prefer. Besides her needing some help, it seemed she was not supposed to be there past a certain time and that was reflected while she processed the line. Eventually she got a can opener and I was able to try the kolsch that turned out to be better than the Pilsner as I expected. Overall it was an ok experience at this place. If you are an IPA person, this may be your spot.

They have various areas and games you can play. Since it was Monday night it was limited to one area that was still spacious and popular. We loved all the beer and soda cocktail we tried as well as the hot dog pastry and pickled pizza we ate. Our favorite of the beers was the apple butter one we took home a four pack of. It is a ways out from us in Silver Spring. However would love to go back and for them to either put a taproom closer to us and/or ideally but unrealistically run regular MARC service out here as my wife and I do not drive.

We had tired kids and somehow missed the sign that suggested we needed to check in with the front desk. With that said, our server was so incredibly friendly. We ended up ordering initially off the app. Our table didn't have a QR code, but I ended up taking a menu from a nearby table and ordered a few dishes. The food I got was all tasty, including the meatballs, chicken tikka masala pizza, cheeseburger, and macaroni and cheese. The beer is what brings people here, but the wine wasn't terrible. My partner is not a beer person but did enjoy the red wine that I ordered for him. As far as entertaining the kids, they offered a lot of good inside game options including corn hole, connect four, a gigantic jenga (that the kids totally loved), and a sliding puck game. They also have bocce ball leagues during the week. This is a really fun spot. The kids loved it, and it was a nice way to break up our trip back to DC. It isn't in the cute, historic part of Frederick, but it's an easy destination with plenty of parking!
