One thing I like about living in this area are the number of breweries and wineries that are close by. You could take a tour each week in the summer and never repeat if you were to drive between MD, VA, and WVA. Thick-N-Thin is a brewery near my home in Hagerstown, MD and I always wanted to stop in and check it out. One afternoon after work, my wife and I decided to stop in. There is a food truck parked next to the brewery that offer food and I found out that there are different food truck throughout the week. My wife ordered a flight of a few beers and we really enjoyed the selections. The atmosphere is very calm, and they have Happy Hour, free popcorn, the place was very clean and I can't wait to stop in during Happy Hour. I recommend Thick-N-Thin Brewing if you want a nice local place to relax and have a nice time. read more

I am a brewery fanatic. This is hands down my favorite local brewery currently. I have been consistently coming here since they opened about 7 months ago. The space is large and open and doesn't feel cramped at all. They have a decent array of beers on tap. Since opening they have had numerous types of beers. I am not usually a cider guy, but their cider is very tasty! It's sweet and dry but not overly sweet. The hazy is juicy but not overwhelming. They even have an interesting pickle beer. It's not my thing but reminds me of a pickle shot. The customer service is spot on. Markus the bar manager is cool, down to earth and quick. Stephen from Homaide is an excellent addition to your staff. He is well versed and knowledgeable and will take your brewery to far places. (He has since left for his own opportunities, but helped this location immensely) The two brothers who own the place both approached my group on the first day and chatted with us and asked us how we liked it. They are both passionate and enthusiastic about beer and I am very excited for what the future holds for this place! Such a great visit, based on both beer taste & ambiance; while drinking we were planning which beers to take home & which days to come visit again. Spacious, with ample indoor & outdoor seating options- bring your own food friendly (but also including free popcorn if peckish & food truck pop-ups on site), dog-friendly, & massively family-friendly (with a large game cubby including shelves of board games, coloring books/crayons/pencils, card games, and more)- also noting the big tvs offering sports & classic movies, foosball tables- the vibe was fantastic- Designed as a pour-your-own tap wall, with options for pints, snifters, & flight minis they had quite the variety to appease the palate- sampling all the IPAs & a few of the stouts- I rated everything 3stars & above-dangerously good drinking haha (added bonus the per oz costs were super reasonable- I felt we got way more beer for our buck than at the average brewery-even with my heavy pours haha) &though we were pouring our own, we still had a few opportunities to interact with the very friendly, welcoming staff who provided insights into the beer (yearly versus seasonal & suggestions on ideal flight tasting orders)- well versed enthusiasm about beer. Terrible service, bad live music, bad food truck and why are there families taking up entire tables with car seats? Wtf

This is a cute little brewery tucked in the back of a shopping plaza. They have live music in their parking lot, which is nice. If you'll be listening to the music make sure to bring a lawn chair or you'll have to stand the whole time. Their setup is similar to a German beer hall - long "community" tables. I wasn't a huge fan of their beer but my husband really liked the blueberry sour. Note - I didn't see that they served any food. They did have a farmers market counter inside that had sweet treats. But if you're looking for a "real" meal you'll have to stop at the Mexican restaurant nearby or the Jimmy Johns that shares a parking lot. Overall, 3-star experience. read more

Okay, so me and the princess (see attached pic) and I were out for a Walmart run. We decide to stop to fortify ourselves for the inevitable people of Walmart deluge. I really liked the pee-ounce pour-yourself format. It allowed me to get exactly what I wanted and not be bogged down by flights of stuff I might not like. The beers were respectable. They're kinda new, so the recipes and techniques can use some tweaking, but overall a good product. And the princess loved it so much that she ditched me to go hang at another table that was more fun and generous with treats. read more

This is a strip mall style brewery, so expect to see lots of duct work in the ceiling, rafters high above, metal and concrete and all the usual dressings of a modular building. TBH it's a style that lends to the cleanliness of the place, which this place was, but in some way, it is a negative because the location detracts from the uniqueness of the brand. Stopped in for a look around. It was just lunch time and we were not able to enjoy a few so I went for the to go option. This is a card style, pay by the pour type place. I worry about those types, because the cost can be hidden by the math involved. But as I said, I went to the Togo area and grabbed a six pack for $16.50. Not what I was expecting but , I had to try it. Not much more I can say on this review, as I did not try anything. read more

In a new shopping center, easy to get to. Plenty of parking- the facility is open & spacious, with a few outdoor tables. They had 20+ beers on offer. The beers on the whole, were pretty good. I tried a flight of: The Pickler a pickle sour Trust Fall an autumn ale Bearskin an oatmeal stout Proper Fest a festbier Of the four, the Bearskin was the best. The Pickler was interesting but cant imagine drinking multiple ones. We also got their root beer which really good. No food available directly from brewing but there a number of restaurants in the shopping center, food from which can be brought in. read more

Great, easy drinking beer. I recommend trying their sours as I used don't like that style till I had theirs. Day Sauce (Pils) and Staycation (WC IPA) are my core favorites. Live music every weekend. Open mic on Thursday and trivia on Wednesday. Sunday 10% on to-go. Mondays are nurses night, Tuesday teachers, Wed first responders (all get 10% off). read more

Went here for a growler fill of their newly released Mexican lager with chili peppers. Bartender told me it was a limited release so they wouldn't fill my growler. Not happy about that, but okay. I asked for a growler of one of their regular beers - Czech lager. The total for a 64oz growler fill was going to be $32 and change. I laughed and said "$32 for a growler?!" "Yes." "Nevermind, I'll get my growler filled at another brewery." I have never before seen a brewery try to sell growlers for $32, and it's not even a limited release beer. That's $8 per pint for beer they have all year round to-go. I went to Antietam Brewing and got a growler fill of their 8% imperial porter for $21. read more

We tried some of their beers over the summer at a festival and really loved them. We liked the idea of the "pour your own" tap wall, but also found it to be a bit cumbersome. You have to set up a pour card to use for authorizing your pours and they swipe your credit card and link it to your card. Since we used one credit card for two people we kept having to reauthorize our credit card every two beers or so. I guess the system thinks it's one person drinking multiple beers in a small time frame and they have to verify you're not being over served. This was pretty annoying. We tried the giant video game and couldn't get it to work at all. Wish they had more games and things to do, so we could bring our kids. We really wanted to love this brewery, but it being in a strip mall is definitely taking something away from it as the ambiance is not great. The interior is super clean and the music they had playing was fire, but overall we found it hard to stay for very long. It's missing something, and I suspect it has to do with the location. read more
