Liquidity Aleworks won Carroll County's Best Brewery of 2023. They are located in Downtown Mount Airy. They have a large parking lot. They also have a large indoor space with foosball, shuffleboard, board games as well as an outdoor patio and a food truck. The space used to be a Bank. They have merchandise (including hats, pints, soaps, tumblers, t-shirts, and hoodies) inside a bank vault. They offer a variety of beers on draft including ales, ipas, lagers, seltzer/cider/sour, and stout/porter. We wanted to try more than one beer so we opted in for a $12 flight of 4 5oz pours. My flight included Piggy Bank: Peach Cobbler, Piggy Bank: Triple Berry, Slice of The Pie Pumpkin Spice Ale, and Giffen Good Strawberry Honeysuckle Seltzer. I liked them all equally. They have several events coming up including Haunted Brewery Oct 25-27, Acoustics and Ales Nov 2, and 2 Year Anniversary Celebration Nov 8-10th. They will also have a stall at Baltimore Craft Beer Festival and DC Beer Fest on Nov 2nd.

This place is rad, if you like ciders and sours their holiday pay drink and their blackberry cider are amazing! They have no food inside but they have rotating food trucks at all time! They allow kids, dogs and outside food! This place is so cool! Inside of an old bank, and they incorporate that into their decorations. Check it out! We will be back!

Excellent brewery. Never a disappointment. With the addition of Walkers and a First National, what more can you ask for.

Expectations were high, after my sister's go to craft brewery closed down and her husband took to Stone Silo immediately, signing up to be a club member. The building itself did have a stone silo on property that opened up to fields. There was a rustic, farm type feel walking in the front door. Welcomed by stone and dark colored woods, the facility was quite large and clean with ample seating. A glance outside there were fire pits and chairs to sit set, along with an 'adult only' section if you don't like your craft with a crying 2 year old. I sampled a few beer including the IPA, which was a bit underwhelming, but expected since the West Coast is known for quality IPAs. I settled on the Japanese rice lager, 'Nojo with Yuzu.' What a mistake! Not something I could get behind and I like yuzu too. Just too tart for a lager and not what I was looking for in my light beer selection. Second round I tried their Czech style dark lager, Clever Crow. Not sure what about this was supposed to be lager, it really felt more porter-ish to me, did not drink light and just not what I was looking for in a dark lager. The grounds and staff were great, it was a fun place to hang with family, but maybe I just made two poor beer decisions. Expected a bit more from the taps but would be willing to go back and give Stone Silo a second chance, as I know my bro-in-law will want to go back since it's close to the house

Two reasons: (1) Someone I met at the festival said I needed to try their Apple Pie Iced Cream cider. (2) I overheard one of the reps (at the festival) say their popular cider was Raspberry which they didn't have there. So, I knew I had to stop by I was able to taste a few of their ciders on tap and it helped me in making my decisions on which to get (not to drink there but getting them to-go). Not all were on tap, but that was okay. Here is what I got (to-go): Raspberry Creamsicle Orange Cream Apple Pie Iced Cream I enjoyed all three ciders despite them being canned and I'm looking forward to trying others. I tried the Pumpkin Pie Cider (not canned) last year - that is one of my favorites so far. Visited September 2024

Ultimately, the staff was friendly and it's a beautiful property but the beer is not great. I tried 5. The best was the wine barrel aged but it was still just ok. I love a Hefeweizen but their Golden Hour was... I'm not sure maybe it was skunked? It was bitter and sourish. Not good. Red reaper is a wine barrel aged stout, this was the best one I had, it was tasty and not too syrupy. The watermelon hard cider needs some work. It was very medicinal tasting. Like fake watermelon/cough drop flavor. Overall, it's a nice spot and maybe I will come back another time to try other products but with the amount of great breweries in Maryland, it will be a hard sell!

Yesterday was the wine tour and my first time driving in 4 wheel drive. It was a perfect experience, because I wasn't looking to break my Jeep and we didn't want to destroy the farms. We stopped at the winery and had a wonderful viogner . I highly recommend checking out them out. We can't wait to go on another 4 wheel adventure and enjoy good wine, beer, and people.

We were out somewhat in this direction, and there was a Meetup group going here, so we thought to check it out as it's rare we ever go to a winery as it's normally out of the way, more likely of an occurrence when on a vacation. We took some crazy back roads from where we were in western Howard County, through Carroll, & into eastern Frederick County, where Black Ankle is. We went to the bar inside to get wines. I got a white wine; I think Chardonnay, and I think my girlfriend got a sweeter Rose or something like that. Both were delicious, but we preferred our own more. We sat outside in a nice patio area. We were in the hot Sun on that sunny day, but that was cool with me. We learned of a tour going on, which we got in on. The tour guide who wore an Italian flag bowtie was entertaining and informative. We walked around the vineyard, going inside the cooled storage areas, centrifuge area where the wine is mixed, etc. We even saw some of the old wines they had made from years earlier.
