We attended their Girls Night event and had a really fun time... chaotic in the most entertaining way possible. Let's just say the evening came with a few extras we didn't order: a hair in a drink (quickly replaced), a shattered wine glass on delivery (quickly cleaned up and replaced), and our server Riot confidently carrying a bucket through the place and leaving a trail of water across the entire floor (quickly mopped up). But Riot was truly a riot... so fun and good-natured about everything that we spent most of the evening laughing it all off. He really made the night. Social media brought us to this place. They were advertising a "girls dinner" so we had to check it out. Instead, two of my good friends and I met here for a midweek lunch. They open at 2 PM. Mike, the owner, greeted and seated us upon arrival. Really nice guys. They have their own brewery attached to the restaurant and the water was some of the freshest, triple-filtered I've ever tasted. I ordered cheesesteak eggrolls - no drinks. They were pretty good and I loved that the fries come with old Bay. Our waiter was super helpful and attentive. We entered 1623 Brewery for a late lunch. We were greeted, by Mike the owner, who graciously walked us to our seats. We ordered the cheeseburger egg rolls, fish tacos and fish sandwich. Everything tasted delightful! The only thing I ask if for the fish sandwich, I need a little bit more fish than brioche bun. Other than that, the restaurant is a great space to watch sports or just hangout with friends. They have an indoor and outdoor space and a menu with plenty of selections to choose from. Nice local brewery tucked away in an industrial area: I have tried some of their craft beers at other places and liked them. Came in on a Saturday night and it was pretty packed. Looks like there was someone celebrating their birthday with a large group. No tables were available but there was a little space at the bar. I started off with a IPA. I was a little hungry so ordered some duck fat fries and the pork street tacos. The menu consists of a lot of typical bar bites. They also have a full bar with any type of cocktails you can think of. I had a smoked old fashioned. After smoking it they bring it out with a cover on it so it really holds in the smoke for optimal flavor. I was still a little hungry so I had the condors bacon as well. Took a while for it to come out. It was crispy and sweet. It came with a side of maple syrup to dip it in but I didn't really need it. Was a little loud in there with all the people. I'm a big fan of the brewery side. The in house kitchen is new and I'm still getting a feel for it. I tried the nachos and chicken tenders. Both were okay. Others at our table had tacos and flatbread pizza. Both got great reviews. Service is always good. Busy night but they always hustle. Biggest bar in Carroll County I believe. We've come here twice and I can see how it would be a popular local spot for people, but it's not my top spot to drive 40 minutes too. I do appreciate that they offer more than beer and also have food options. We came the second time because of the holiday pop up market. My husband ordered the IPA and enjoyed it. I had a few cocktails and one I enjoyed was the crush-mad cheer. I did appreciate the cute names and variety of drinks options. We ordered a flatbread and chicken nachos. They were both OK. The nachos were definitely missing jalapeños and not enough nachos cheese. The pizza wasn't bad, but couldn't used extra hot honey. I've been coming to 1623 for a while since they opened, but have to write a review now to highlight the incredible service my parents and I had on Friday. We enjoyed an array of delicious appetizers - cheesesteak egg rolls, pepperoni flatbreads, and smash burgers - but were incredibly impressed by the kindness of the waitstaff. When they found out it was my parents wedding anniversary, they surprised us not only with not only free drinks, but desserts: honey cornbread and chocolate cake. Both were delicious! The chef who surprised my parents with the desserts was incredible and I was shocked to learn he'd only been there for less than a month. March 2026: CHECK YOUR ITEMIZED BILL BEFORE YOU PAY We've been coming to 1623 sporadically since literally the weekend it opened and really love their IPA and outdoor space (inside, not so much). But this most recent visit is really our last. It's 2 weeks after our visit on March 27 and I'm sitting down to reconcile our Visa bill. This is when I note our bill was padded with over $30 of food and drinks we didn't purchase. Our bad for not looking closely at the bill when it came, but this should have never happened. Hence this review. We are craft beer people and there are lots of other great places to enjoy. We feel it's no longer worth the drive to 1623/Craft Culture. read more

Third visit here, wanted to give it a few chances before leaving a bad review. Service is really slow, you have to get up yourself for anything: napkins, refills, condiments, even the bill. I had two tabs open, one for a beer and one for a soda, and they couldn't even find the first one despite everything being digital, where I get a notification every time my card is run. Located in Eldersburg, it was quite a drive for me personally but had some friends visiting from out of town so decided to check out this spot! The location is huge that can accommodate small or large parties! they even have a central bar area you can gather if you want a more intimate vibe. The brewery is also family friendly as well had several kids in our group as well! They offer a nice variety of beers and in house seltzers! I tried the lei'd beer and the pie one and I am a fan of sours so I preferred the in pie we crust. I also tried their prickleberry seltzer. for those that are wanting a sweeter option, this one is not for you. In fact while I did not kind, it was very bland and had a subtle flavor of prickle berry. My friend for the strawberry cheesecake one and it was very delicious! The service was great too! They had several servers walking around and if it wasn't one designated for your section, they were able to get your server for you almost immediately!! read more

Saturday, May 24th visit, approximately 8pm- male kitchen worker, approximately 5'10" to 6' tall, used the men's room urinalysis, hand on the wall (why??) and walked out without washing. i was behind him and saw him go directly to the kitchen area and put his apron on to get back to work. Nasty! The service at the bar was excellent. The milk stout was great. The bar area employees were all friendly and welcoming. It would have been a 5-star if not for seeing the unsanitary behavior. read more

I've been to this place a couple times since I moved here less than a year ago. I went one night when they had live music. I went another night for two wheel Tuesday, which is a motorcycle event. Both times the food was great. It was so packed That we had to find a seat somewhere, but it's a huge place. If you consider it was huge and packed, that should give you some idea of how popular it is. Parking was really easy to find although one time I was riding my motorcycle. I think this would be a great place to take a group of people on a Friday or Saturday. read more

The atmosphere is the best nearby by far. Large space and great outdoor patio. They recently added the "craft culture" and the food is okay at best. We have tried most items and haven't been impressed by anything. I would give 4 stars but the food is the ONLY reason I gave 3. Service is usually good but have had a few times when we sat with no one stopping by for long periods of time to check in. Owner has been very polite and has accepted feedback in the past. Came on a whim last weekend when that weird weather was happening. Stopped to pick up food for me and the kiddo. Hubby opted for the food truck. Wow, the place was hopping but we found a table near the band and a great view into brewery. The BBQ truck was rolling out when we arrived but a Greek/Mediterranean truck was there. No sours but an impressive selection of other types. I went with the make your own seltzer. How neat! Don't normally drink them but the ability to pick and mix your own flavors was awesome. Clearly a favorite spot for the Burg. The band was great. We got to watch the weirdest 5 minute blizzard that came thru. A college friend gave us a behind the scenes tour. So score on that point. 1623 put some life back into this small town. If you're from the area you're probably aware there isn't much to do besides go to a chain restaurant. 1623 is the only brewery in town and the head brewmaster is from CO and typically makes some incredible beer. There's typically a food truck outside in case you're craving food. I was a bit disappointed in the beer I had this time and that's the first time I've experienced a subpar beer. Overall this a great "infant" brewery that's rapidly expanding for a good reason! Get out and enjoy a cold one. read more

My first visit to 1623 was for the bands and brews event. I was very surprised by the facility. It is very large and spacious. I was also impressed by the cleanliness, Specifically the bathrooms during a large event. All the bartenders were friendly and had valuable input about each of the beers. My favorites were the stout and the IPA. The seltzer bar is nice if you want something lighter. They have a large variety of flavors and you can mix and match your own choice of flavors. The selection of food trucks was great with high quality food to offer. This will definitely be added to my rotation of places to grab a beer. read more

In the far back depths behind a strip mall off of Liberty Blvd, is a gem of a Brewing Company. The only beverage which is not beer was a Blood Peach and Honey seltzer. That was tasty, yet did not taste like peach or honey. My friends who are all avid beer lovers were very impressed that the selection was so vast as well as the flavors of each so diverse. Pricing is very reasonable, Taster- $2.50 Half Pour- $4 Full Pour- $7. Some of the favorites were Old Proper, the Pilsner and Wheaties. Social distancing is encouraged, and they are dog friendly. Although they do serve food, the offerings are limited. They have a food truck parked outside, when we visited, it was an Ethiopian Truck. Since it was Halloween when we visited, we brought an assortment of ghoulish delights to share with the 6 people at our table - to continue encouragement of Covid procedures, they do not allow tables larger than 6. ***Update 6/19: Michael reached out to us personally and apologized for the experience and made it right. I can clearly see he cares about the reputation of this business. Would be willing to try again in the future, hopefully things will be better next time. Tried this place on a Saturday at 2:30. The beer was well beer nothing to write home about, might as well buy it in the store. food was ok not good just ok. We waited 20 minutes on the outside patio, no service, the wait staff was definitely not attentive or confused or didn't know what to do because I had to go to the seltzer bar and ask if someone could take our order. The staff member behind the bar took the order for us. Then the table behind us full of young men had 2 different young female staff members check on them multiple times during the time we were there. We had full intentions of ordering another round of beer but still NO staff member came to our table. We literally could have just left without paying. It's a good thing we are good people and had to go back to the bar and ask to pay. This place can potentially hemorrhage money if they don't get their staff better trained. read more

The place wasn't busy at all when we went, and most tables were wide open - but it took way long time to get served. Many of the staff wasn't super friend or welcoming either. Seemed almost bothered. For being fairly slow inside I ordered a second seltzer and after 15 minutes when I flagged the waiter back down, the waiter just told me he forgot about my order. After asking the waiter, he stated most of their seltzers offered that day on the TV menu are just syrup flavoring put in the same seltzer - which was pretty disappointing. The interior is just like every other brewery popping up these days with just high tops and tables spread out around a large bar. This was second time there with a similar experience so probably not going to go back. Way too many good places in this area to have to beg people to take your hard earned money! read more

Sat at the bar and we socially distanced from others at the bar. Clean space. Service was great, plenty of staff bouncing around to tables and bartenders. TVs has sports on which is a plus. Decorated festive for Christmas. Had the OG IPA (Colorado IPA) and hazy dawg IPA. Hazy was just ok, definitely not the summer hazy's you are used to, more of a winter heavy hazy. This is an awesome spot for grabbing a drink with friends. I went on a Saturday around 6pm, and there was still plenty of outdoor seating and live music to enjoy while you sat around and talked.
