They offer packages that includes "all you can drink" during the hour long spa, but based on my husband's experience, it's better to drink the beers before or after. I waited with the rest of the family by the brewery and was surprised at how empty it was on a Saturday afternoon. Perhaps not many people know about this place? Great pressed Cuban sandwich, best grouper sandwich, good food…read more We were out on Liberty road, near Oscar's Alehouse in Eldersburg MD, and we remembered the excellent grouper sandwiches we've had here. They were good as the ones we got fresh in Florida. We wanted takeout this time, and decided on their $16 Cuban pressed sandwich. It's layers of tender thin-sliced slow-roasted pork, ham, and Swiss cheese. The bread is like a french baguette, pressed and crispy-toasted, spread with yellow mustard and tangy dill-pickle chips. It's a rich handful of a sandwich. It came with generous hot soft boardwalk-style fries. Oscar's was quick and friendly. The sandwich was excellent!

There were 5 of us, we had the cheese curds (always delicious), tried the crab nachos (surprisingly good) as apps. Ordered the crab soup. I was expecting more of a cream crab soup but that was my fault as it wasn't listed as such and it's a reddish sauce kind of a minestrone with the veggies in it. We ordered shrimp and grits, I was told it was good with a little spice. Two of us ordered the salmon with crab/corn risotto (delicious). Mac and cheese ordered from apps menu, but as meal and the last meal was a pasta chicken dish. Great experience again!

We felt the cheese curds lacked cheese and were a bit greasy. My Cobb salad was good, but nothing amazing. I also asked for dressing on the side, but it came out dressed. My kids LOVED their pizza. I had gone there many years ago and had many of the same complaints however about a year ago I retried and was pleasantly surprised by changes that were made. I now go every few weeks for different craft beers and other "necessities" and always find it to be very well stocked, clean, and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The best part about Total Discount - they let you do mix-six packs! From what I have found, they are one of the remaining stores in the area that allow this. I highly recommend them for anything you may need liquor wise and if you are into different craft beers, this is hands down the only place to go in Carroll County. Side note - no one has ever asked or tried to make a copy of my license there. My feeling of this story is that the cashier probably wanted to SCAN the barcode on the back of the ID. That's not for creating a database as the store is strictly prohibited from doing that by law unless the customer gives consent. Maryland DOES HIGHLY RECOMMEND that each store scan all IDs with liquor sales to ensure the ID isn't fake. Many stores have a policy to do this, due to State and Local pressure. Certainly you can't hold the store accountable for this.

March 2026: CHECK YOUR ITEMIZED BILL BEFORE YOU PAY…read more We've been coming to 1623 sporadically since literally the weekend it opened and really love their IPA and outdoor space (inside, not so much). But this most recent visit is really our last. It's 2 weeks after our visit on March 27 and I'm sitting down to reconcile our Visa bill. This is when I note our bill was padded with over $30 of food and drinks we didn't purchase. Our bad for not looking closely at the bill when it came, but this should have never happened. Hence this review. We are craft beer people and there are lots of other great places to enjoy. We feel it's no longer worth the drive to 1623/Craft Culture.

Overall it was a pleasant experience with good food and a welcoming atmosphere. Parking was easy and conveniently located directly in front of the restaurant. There is also outdoor seating available during good weather, and they even offer a dog-friendly menu for your four-legged companions. I would recommend calling ahead to confirm whether the dog menu is available year-round or only when the patio is open. Inside, the dining area is spacious and comfortable, making it a good option for both small and larger groups. They offer daily and weekly specials in addition to their regular all-day menu. Tuesday wing specials seemed to be especially popular with several members of our group. The food was the highlight of the evening. Everything brought to the table looked fresh and flavorful, and I did not hear a single complaint about anyone's meal. A few people ordered the wings and thoroughly enjoyed them. The biggest challenge during our visit was the service. Our server was friendly and clearly trying his best, but with a larger group and separate checks, things became a bit scattered and confusing at times. Orders and checks needed a few corrections before the end of the evening. In fairness, the general manager stepped in to help resolve an issue with one meal, which was appreciated and helped improve the situation. Overall, despite a few service hiccups, the quality of the food and the comfortable atmosphere made this a worthwhile visit, and I would return again.
