Awesome spot! Great beer! I had the bodacious blonde- big fan!! Will be coming back again soon

Heavy Seas has a great selection of beer. They do serve food and there's usually a food truck outside. There's plenty of parking in their private lot. They also offer brewery tours. My favorite beer is the TropiCannon, which has crisp citrus notes without being too overly hoppy, There is also plenty of seating and games you can play. They have a back room where they hold events. The service is great. The bartenders are friendly. Oh, and their dog friendly!

The very refreshing TropiCannon Citrus IPA from Heavy Seas Beer!

Steve and I recently had the IPA known as TropiCannon from Heavy Seas Beer. What I really liked about this IPA was that it was a fruited one. So that right away made it more interesting and unique. Sure, lots of IPA's have elements of citrus to them but this was actually noticeable than most and really gave the tropical vibe that so many claim to have. So flavor highlights that you can actually taste with this beer are tropical, citrus, sweet (but not too much) and fruitiness. Definitively an IPA to try out if you can as it's a different experience from the hum drum usual IPA'S that seem so prevalent out there and are often yawn inducing.

I've been visiting this brewery since long before the expansion and renovation. This past weekend I visited to try a special edition beer. I didn't end up liking that, nor a variety of other beers I tried, but I enjoyed being in the environment. The bartenders were fairly attentive and helpful as I tried multiple beers. I ended up going with a sour I've enjoyed for some time (Cosmic Blur), then had to leave shortly thereafter. Overall the visit was a good one. Will return.

Heavy Seas Beer is a great place to get locally crafted beers. They have a decent size indoor space with additional room outside and in an adjacent room with games. The blueberry pomegranate was excellent and the cherry limeade cocktail was good too. If you like IPAs and ales you should try this place out.

This needs to be removed ASAP. It is absolutely ok for an establishment to say they are NOT kid-friendly. Parents appreciate honesty!

This place is absolutely NOT kid friendly... the manager was completely rude and for the first time in my life I was out of character in telling him to take kid-friendly OFF of their advertising. We were singled out for even bringing our children into this place. He watched us the entire night. I've never heard the word "liability" thrown around so nonchalantly in my life. Want a kid-friendly brewery experience? Try Manor Hill farm brewery or literally ANYWHERE ELSE besides Heavy Seas. What a joke. If there was a zero stars option, I would've chosen that instead. **edited to add: I understand taking kids to a brewery is a risk BUT we thought we'd support a local business with their "winter release." After all, we're still adults with beer on the brain. This was the 7th time I've taken my kids to this place. They literally keep board games and connect 4 in the back... c'mon now. In the managers words, "we are kid friendly, but..." that's a LARGE "but." This review is for the people with kids wondering where to spend their time (and money) on a weekend. This place isn't the place.

Great happy hour spot if you lake beer. I was invited out by some friends to enjoy a evening at the Heavy Seas brewery so decided to stop by for a bit. I had not been by since the reopened after thrower initial shot down for Covid. It's located in a industrial area and there is normally plenty of parking available. On this occasion theory weren't too many people inside. You still have to wear a mask when you aren't actively eating and drinking. They do not have a kitchen but most days there is a food truck on site. On this day there was Koopers Chow Hound that serves burgers. There are QR codes on the tables so you can order and pay without ever leaving your seat. The tap list changes from time to time. They keep some of the staples on there but they have seasonal and limited releases. If you are unfamiliar with a particular beer the knowledgeable staff will be more than happy to tell you all about it. They will also offer you a sample to help you decide. I got a flight to try some of the beers I have never tasted before. K noticed their weekend tours are back so I will have to come back soon for that experience.

I am definitely a fan of Heavy Seas! I have visited several times before but was in on Sunday for a brewery bus tour. We were giving a nice tour by the owner who was super personable and funny. We sampled four beers. I enjoyed all of them but definitely like LO-CAL. It was my first time trying it and enjoyed the fact it was lighter option. I learned that they will soon be doing another renovation to extend their taproom which I cannot wait to see!

My first time at Heavy Seas. I arrived around 4, not too many people so I grabbed a beer at the bar and sat down. The beer selection is impressive, everything from light to dark brews. I was enjoying the cutlass. Some buddies showed up and we decided to sit outside. It was a warm evening. The brewery doesn't have a kitchen but there is a food truck on site. Chowhound truck serving burgers and tacos. I ordered the Macguinness burger, medium well with red inion and pickle chips. Plus the french fries. WE had another round and the food was ready to be picked up. Credit card only for payment. Thursday night and I had to be at work today, so around 8 PM i called it a night. Definitely a future spot for after work get togethers, brews and good eats.

This is a local brewery in Halethorpe, MD. I really enjoyed the small, friendly, intimate atmosphere. I sampled a flight of their Ales that I found to be very good. The're dog friendly, which really made me smile on the inside. With an indoor game room you can enjoy your beer and friends while paying corn hole, jenga, horseshoes, air hocky, and square four. They have monthly special events and outside is the Pieces of Eight food truck that has an intoxicating smell coming from the brick oven. Why go any further than here?! Recently I reviewed the Guinness brewery, that isn't far from Heavy Seas, and I honestly have to say I prefer Heavy Seas for the microbrews, more personal interactions with the staff and patrons and less commercial atmosphere. Can't wait to go back with friends.

I had heard about…read moreSapwood and maybe 4-5 years ago I would have found these offers more appetizing but in the end, going there twice in three days, I wasn't all that impressed by the tap list. We hit the brewery on a Friday about 5:30pm and it was crowded but still found a table. Can't say enough good things about the staff, very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable when it came to their beers. But their beers were all over the board. Honestly, I've given up trying to find a good WCIPA outside of California, but did try their collab with North Park, called Pristine State. Also sampled a hazy pale called Beam of Light, their Pilsner, Scenic, a double hazy IPA, Vanillafort with a sh*t ton of vanilla beans, I'm Grander, their pasty stout and Osmosis, their amber lager. On top of that I also took home their blueberry maple pancakes and tangerine whip smüzi. Didn't open the tangerine and drain poured the blueberry pancakes after maybe half a glass. So Sapwood did a lot of different beers but none that I really could say suited my taste buds. Then again, I'm very spoiled with excellent craft in California. Their food was good, we ordered a taco sampler, Brussels sprouts and nachos. All the food was very flavorful and you got a fair amount for the price. Not much in the way of ambience, but it's a brew pub, there is rarely any of that. All in all my visits were average, not a big fan of their beer selection, nothing really fit my tastebuds, the North Park collab was close. Not sure what their niche was when it comes to beer. I don't need to be overwhelmed by the tap selection. Would I return? Yeah, but not my first choice for craft beer, but the food was more of a hit with me.

I got mostly sours, porters, and stouts and I would get any of them again. I have to be in a very specific mood for an IPA, but the one I got was nicely hopped, but not overly so with a solid piney and grapefruit flavor. They have a respectable selection of food items. It can be a little something to pick at or a proper meal. I thoroughly enjoyed my bratwurst with sauerkraut and would get it again. The mezze platter was okay; I think it could benefit from some veggies instead of (or better, in addition to) the pita chips. I would definitely come back. Recommended!
