Nice place. I missed out on coming here last month so when I was in the area busting another spot I decided it would be a good time to stop by. Thursday would s a great day because they have happy hour that last from 5 pm until closing. They have plenty of parking behind the building. It's a lot shared with a few other places. Wasn't crowded at all when we went in. They don't have food but there is a restaurant called Motte right near door. Music playing was sounded like someone personal playlist that I enjoyed listening to. Looks like they have dart boards in the back of the brewery. It's pretty large inside with some outside seating. A good place if you like beer. Plenty of brewery originals on tap. read more

I've been to Monument a bunch of times, I'm shocked I've not written a review before now. Monument is a great venue. Large and open, it gives rustic modern vibes. I've done yoga here and it's great for it. I visited recently on a Saturday night and there was live music. The music was at a volume where conversation was not possible. There was also virtually no seating available, tho plenty of space to stand around. I got a flight but wasn't particularly interested in any of the beers. And I left shortly thereafter. read more

Taproom fronts the brewery with tables at the rear of the brewery and the bar by the door and standing bars throughout. Employees working the taps were helpful and friendly. I had a flight of three and then settled on one for the road. I went with the ghostcamp, draft lab #3 and the 51rye IPA. All were good. I settled for the ghostcamp as my parting draft. This is a lovely place to get together with friends and catch up after a long weekend. The brewing company does not provide food in house, but they do have pop up food events as well as companies in the area that cater to the brewing company. I'm so proud of the fact that they make a Orioles-themed beer when partnering with Adam Jones!! The staff are so kind and helpful to answer any questions you would have over beer tastings, overall the service is phenomenal. I stopped by Monument City Brewing recently with my husband and a few friends. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy my beer (I can't remember if I got a Pilsner or a Kolsch but it tasted off to me), but the space itself was great - large, open, with a stage for live music and TVs for watching sports, and open to the brewing area. They have a lot of parking, which is also a major plus. The service at the bar was good, too. I'd definitely give it a second shot because everything else about my experience was very good, but the one beer I tried wasn't one I enjoyed. read more

I came upon this event on a humble and so glad that I did. They were celebrating their anniversary with an outdoor event that included bands, music and several food trucks and a lot of outdoor seating. They had different tickets you could pre purchase online. The event was held from 2pm till 10pm They offered different admission prices. First was regular admission. Which you would have to purchase your drink tickets separately. They offered an admission ticket with 5 drink tickets included and the last was the VIP. They also offered everyone first drink on them which was a can beer of your choice. You received a bracelet. The event was good. I haven't drank like that in quite sometime I told my husband. Glad events are finally opening back up after Covid. They had two indoor unisex restrooms. With plenty of Johnny on the spot available. All the employees were super nice and I just think everyone was so happy to be back out socializing again. We had a great time and they also had plenty of free parking available. Great building and atmosphere in this brewery/taproom. Live music. Dog friendly. Perfect place to gather with large groups of friends for the afternoon or eventing. They have a decent food truck and lots of parking. Great service, friendly bartenders. Interesting selection of beers. I did a flight of 51 Rye IPA, Simple AJ Ballpark IPA, and two Pilsners and a pale ale...everything was really good, but the 51 Rye IPA had an incredible mouthfeel and taste...so I had to go get a pint of that afterwards. read more

This dope brewery is located about a mile from Patterson Park. 12 taps of amazing Brew to choose from, they offer indoor & outdoor seating. Dog friendly as well for you pet lovers. They even have water on tap in case you try to taste all 12, Drink responsibly! The staff is always nice & helpful when I ask 20 questions about the new beers. A wonderful brewery in Baltimore! The ambiance is lovely/super cute, and the staff is friendly. I find the prices to be super reasonable. I love that there are often food trucks outside for some munching while drinking - when I was there, they had a taco food truck which was awesomely paired with the beer. My friend thought the IPAs were good, but perhaps could have been a tiny bit better - although he did not try everything of course (even though there appears to be a very nice selection/variety). I got the seltzer since I'm gluten free, and I loved it! read more

Nice place to watch the second half of the Eagles final leg to the Super Bowl. Beers were spot-on. Cherry Pie Sour was perfect, slightly sweet and not overly sour. So "pro-dog" I felt bad that I didn't have one. Bullhead Pit Beef food truck was amazing. read more

Another excellent brewery in Baltimore! If you follow my reviews you know I LOVE breweries! And Maryland has some awesome ones. Monument is one of those at the top. I stopped in for a few brews while in the area and the variety was impressive. Several different styles of their regulars and a few 'special' brews. My favs were definitely the Southbound and the Woodstove. Two completely different styles but excellent flavor. The Southbound was a hazy double IPA. Very hazy and strong. The Woodstove was an imperial stout that was very strong with a sweet toasty, coffee flavor with hints of bourbon. I then tried the Rox and Friends, a style I had not had before called raichbier, which is a smokey, dry stout. Really interesting. Definitely worth a visit. I should add that they now have a restaurant next door that looked good. I'll give that a look on my next visit. read more

This brewery has it all - a great selection of beers, snacks, food truck, live music, parking, and even axe throwing next door if you're in the mood. We went on a Sunday afternoon when there was a reserved event happening to the side, but there was still plenty of seating available for other people and groups of various sizes. The ambiance is relaxed, and there were even people camped out with laptops doing work to the side. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Monument City Brewing is a great weekend hang out spot in Baltimore. It's in a complex with an axe throwing place. The brewery itself is huge! Tours are offered and there's a beer where you can fill your growler or order a pint for there. You can do smaller pours for a tasting or try a regular serving of their beer. If you like sour ales, order the very sour lime beer. There's a large indoor space with tons of tables, two bathrooms and a few games like ping pong and Connect 4. I've been here twice now in the last month. The first was for a dogs of charm city event and then we returned for a trivia night. I ordered a cherry pie sour beer which was really good considering I am not a beer drinker. Great service and I love that there is a full parking lot! Driving up, we felt like we were in some strange area of Baltimore we didn't know about. When we pulled in-there was a massive parking lot, nice little outdoor seating area, and a food truck-I was surprised with such a large spread, how did I miss coming to Monument all this time (we drink them at home a lot-woo local brew beer store sections). The outside was so well set up, I wish it were warmer to hang out there. Inside was super cozy. With lots of seating options the space was well utilized. They had a few large parties, but with so many options on where to hang out-high tops, bar seats, picnic tables, ping pong tables, Connect 4 games-we didn't feel squished. The bartenders were delightfully pleasant, kept things moving, and were still taking time to talk to guests. My only issue-drinking them at home a lot-I hoped at the brewery there would be more options-special brews, new beers, unique flavors. They really only offered what we already knew, with one or two specials just being tweaked versions. There was also a friendly cat walking around-which was cute-not that we minded the cat, but it was entertaining to watch non-cat people freak out when they saw it. read more

I stopped by to inquire about hosting a large (50+) happy hour. The staff member I spoke with was very open and eager to pass my information along to a manager. I received a phone call from Kim the next day, who was equally kind and thankful for the business, asked what we needed, answered any questions, and communicated both with the food truck and onsite manager that night to make sure we'd be taken care of. Our group was welcomed with open arms, the onsite manager Michael was very attentive despite having other customers in the brewery. Our guests were extremely happy with the venue, the drinks (including that they offer a non-beer option of flavored spiked seltzers), and the food vendor. My last review was their grand opening! Crazy to think it's been so long and so many memories have been created there since then! This place is a hidden Gem that not enough people know about. In my opinion, it's like Union who??? You may miss it driving around Haven & Baltimore, but you enter through the back. It's really a beautiful space and more importantly, great beer! Early on in COVID, we ordered to go beers a few times, and when places started slowly opening up, we enjoyed a few out back. This place is such a perfect addition to the city! I have enjoyed Monument's unique handcrafted beers in cans for a while but this was my first visit to their brewery. It is hidden away in Highlandtown but easy to find. Access to parking and the entrance is though the gated entryway just north of the Brewery building. There is ample parking. We ordered up a selection of beers including a mixed fruit gose that was amazing. They had a brick oven pizza truck if you wanted food and a band if you wanted music but we just wanted to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful evening. They have cornhole and a giant Jenga tower for entertainment. The sell and and growlers if you want some beer to take with you. We were ready for something different on our Doors Open Baltimore and the Monument City Brewing Company fit the bill. We arrived just in time for the 1:30 PM tour led by Ryan. He was very knowledgeable and interesting. He walked us thru the process of making beer and told us the history of the building and the company. Monument City Brewing Company is a craft brewery focused on high quality, handcrafted ales. It was founded by two brothers, Ken and Matt Praay in 2013. The building was originally owned by the Williamson Veneer Company. They produced mahogany veneer used by many Baltimore furniture and piano companies. Many businesses occupied this space before the brewing company acquired it. read more

I'm still a little drunk from here but I wanted to give Monument city brewing 5 stars because it was so accommodating! I came here with my cousin and her (little) dog and not only was the beer fantastic but the space was amenable to Covid social distancing, AND they allowed my cousin to bring her dog inside! I'm so thankful for places opening up indoor dining (to limited capacity) again! We love this place. Fantastic beer and beer selection. 15 beers on tap with a great selection of all types to satisfy all tastes and preferences. Fresh brewed and great rotating taps. Pre-Covid, it was a great place to hang out in the brew warehouse. It can get very warm in the hot Summer months. Covid has been okay bc they have multiple seating tables in the parking lot with umbrellas and even a tent area. They sanitize all tables before you sit there. The staff are amazing and so friendly - they excel at customer service. They allow dogs in the tap room. Such a plus. It's next to the boiler room which has amazing whiskeys and food. There is also an axe throwing place right next door in case you want to throw axes -- not recommended after drinking. read more

We went to Monument City Brewing on a Friday night around 5:45. We sat inside bc no one was there and it was super hot outside. The beer selection is just okay (the reason for the 4 stars) but we liked the stout and the Belgian witbier. Everyone was super friendly as well. My dad ended up buying a six pack of the stout for $15. Overall a nice place to sit and enjoy some beer in Baltimore! read more

I love beer and breweries and this Monument City is no exception. I've been here several times and have always had a positive experience. The beers are fantastic, my favorite is a more seasonal IPA - NOBO, but there are so many seasonal beers that come out every few weeks it's worth trying everything! The prices are very fair for a high quality local brew. There is no food for sale inside, but there is a rotating food truck right in front of the brewery entrance so it's very easy to get some good local food and bring it inside or sit outside. The inside and outside seating is very nice and spacious. The beertenders are all very friendly and can always help if you are indecisive about a beer. I will definitely be back. read more

I came here with my roommates on a Thursday evening, and there happened to be an event going on. There was live music, raffles, and cats from a local adoption clinic. There were several gift auction items and $1 from each draft went towards the adoption center! Inside the building, there's bar-type seating and picnic tables where you can have your beer and watch the brewing process happen. There were self-guided tours available and the live music here as well. Outside, there was a patio area with more picnic tables and cornhole. I'm not sure the Greek food truck was there for the event or they always have the truck, but this is a great idea! As for the beer, I tried the two double IPA options. They were both super hoppy, so only get them if you're really into bitter IPAs. My roommate got the sour, which was surprisingly my favorite! I enjoy tasting sours, but usually they are too potent for me. This brew had subtle enough flavors and really hit the spot. Great environment and layout of the brewery itself and the employees were very knowledgeable about the beers on tap. I would recommend this location for big groups and those who enjoy all types of beer! read more

I have now been to Monument City a few times. I have to say, I wish they were open when I lived in the Patterson Park neighborhood. What a great addition to the area. When arriving, make a left off of Baltimore and the parking area will be on your right. The lot sits behind the brewery and is actually the front. The brewery itself is pretty awesome. The woodwork, including the entrance doors and bar, is beautiful. There is seating on the inside and outside. If you come here expecting it to be cool on the inside, you would be wrong as there is no AC. Not a big deal, it's just a bit toasty inside so go sit outside where it is nice and breezy. Additionally they usually have food trucks here or a restaurant for your dining pleasure. So a brewery is about beer. The beer itself here is well made and pretty solid. I'm a fan of the freshly Rye 51. Probably my favorite. I did really enjoy their special release DDH Pale Ale as well. Hopefully they do something like that on a consistent basis (Caveat: I'm a hop head, so don't judge me). Their Belgium is pretty good so is their DIPA Among the Pines. Of all the breweries in the Bmore area this should def be a stop on your list. Do they have the juicy IPAs that you see at Diamondback? No. But they have a great variety of ales that are all high quality and well made. Give this place a go, it's guaranteed to put a smile on your face. read more

They're still in their soft opening stage, but Monument has an awesome vibe and pretty great beers! You will pass by the brewery on the street and see the painted signs on their buildings, but there is a parking lot behind the building, keep an eye out for it! The building is beautiful on the outside and inside - original brick! Definitely a very "Baltimore" place. Right now, they have three beers available - the 51 rye, an American Brown Ale, and Among The Pines (a double IPA). I got to try all of them, and I was extremely impressed! The IPA was my favorite, but the other two were also nice. The brown ale had a nice toasted flavor, and the rye was a bit fruity. Their upcoming beers are a Pils and a Belgian Trippel as well! As a beer lover and Baltimorean, I highly recommend paying Monument brewing a visit. Their beer offerings are no frills and simple, but still delicious. Met some friends here. First time really in the area. They do have a large parking lot, which is always nice to see. We had an Uber over, driver dropped us off what we thought was the front but turned out to be the back. You do have to walk through and gate and around. Small outdoor seating area but since it was nice outside they left the doors open. Was a tad hot for my taste (they might do well with some ceiling fans). I got a flight of beers (as you should always do when trying a new place). I honestly liked everything I had but probably the seasonal "pine" the best (don't remember the full name). Flights were cheap at $7 for 4 pours. Staff was fast and friendly, made it easy to identity what beers we got. The place itself is very large but most was roped off, not sure if they do tours or just tastings. They had two women there selling some cookies and other sweets, don't think they are there all the time. If I had cash I would have gotten a cookie so fast!! Live music started so we left. I love Monument, but the hours and/or publicizing of said hours need major work. Every time I go, I enjoy it (the beer is very good but not great - you're going for the atmosphere as much as the beer though). They're only open Wed-Sun... or maybe not by the time you read this review! They change constantly with no public warning, they're weird generally (until 9 during the week, but only 6 or more recently 7 on weekends - again changes that happen with essentially no notice), and variable. I love the place and it's very important to me that they do well. Maybe, like, an adult to run the taproom operations is needed, though. read more

I have always loved Monument City brewing. They have a large hazy ipa selection at the brewery and have been ramping up their distribution substantially. The indoor space is beautiful but with covid restrictions they have moved people outside. This area is also very nice and distanced. One of the owners showed us around and gave us a very detailed and informative walk through of their story, their beer, and the brewing process. I've had Monument City's 51 Rye a million times (it is all over the city) so I was very excited to try their DIPA and Brown Ale. Both were excellent. They have a rotating selection, so that keeps things interesting. The space is an awesome renovated warehouse, that has plenty of seating and a big parking lot. Looks like they are trying to do some outdoor seating as well. No food but you can bring your own. Lots of people had pizza. Best part was that they have a brewery cat, Willow (i think).
