Had a great Sunday afternoon at Mobtown Brewing Company. First things first, I got visited by Ernie, their resident cat. He walked across the bar, mossied up to me, greated me and sat in my lap. He languished there for a good five minutes until he got bored and went about whatever cat business he had on the agenda. The venue is mid sized. There is an L shaped bar with plenty of seating. There are inside tables and a few seats outside in the front. The music was a mix of hip hop and more recent r&b, but I would imagine that changes depending on the crowd. I could drink here all day, and almost did, but there were more breweries in "Ballamore" I wanted to explore. The BEER: The Doctor Says I'm Hazy NEIPA 6.5% ABV... Orange and lemon peel, this is the one. Very very very lovely. Motown Natty Dough Vienna Lager 5.4% ABV... clean, crisp Vienna Lager Mobtown Cover Two Imperial IPA 9.1% ABV... Orange or Tangerine, maybe clementine, it is slightly boozy and amazingly good, after taste is like east or west coast hoppy Mobtown Essex Wonderland winter warmer 8% ABV... very hop forward with a hint of pumpkin spice Mobtown Long Wave NEIPA 5.4% ABV... juicy, with grapefruits notes Ther service here was impeccable and this will be one of my first stops when I visit again. I stumbled across Mobtown when a friend randomly invited me to a pop-up market event while having brunch at another restaurant. Parking was a little difficult because there is street parking but I managed to find a spot. Before venturing to the tables of the popup vendors, I decided to check out the inside of the brewery. There was a pretty good amount of seating and space inside. It seemed very welcoming to families and pets as I saw quite of few of them with small children and their dogs. I didn't plan on purchasing a beverage because I'm not a big beer drinker and if I do partake, it's usually sours. They did have one sour on tap but it was only 3.8% abv and the description didn't really sound like anything that I would enjoy. I saw that they had 2 types of frozen drinks with house made spirits. I opted for the orange crush slushy. It was not only delicious but I felt a nice buzz (I believe they said it was 6% abv). It's a cool place that I would definitely recommend to my friends that enjoy beer. read more

Was pretty empty on a Saturday evening about 1-2h before closing! Lots of indoor seating, games, and a ping pong room. A lot of beer and non-beer options. The mango slush was a bit too sweet for my liking, but contained a good balance of alcohol to mango flavor. There's a cute tuxedo cat roaming around as well! read more

Love this place! I got a chance to check this brewery out a week ago and I love that it has a little game area, is dog friendly and offers a food truck right out front. The inside is so cute with a beautiful mural across the back wall. The space is huge so if you were to come with a large party, it could seat everyone. They have such great beer options with cute punny names. My favorite thought was the hard kombucha. Maybe I was just tired of drinking beer by that point but it was so light and not heavily carbonated. The kombucha flavor was not overpowering and left me wanting more had I not been so full! I would highly recommend checking this place out especially if you have dogs or kids. Perk is that it is indoors and dogs are still allowed in! read more

Nice little pocket of Baltimore. I've been there several times, once for an Anniversary party, and they closed down the street and had a local band play. Really dig the vibe there, nice, friendly servers, great seating options (if a little limited once it gets busy), great artwork on the walls, etc. Not quite sold on the beer, unfortunately, which is of course criteria number one for a Brewery, so I sadly had to take off stars. But I am hopeful the selection will improve as the brewmaster does! I'm rooting for you, Mobtown! read more

Nice selections. Tried three: a hazy (#1 listed on the board) and recommend by the employee at the register, a cold double IPA (#5) and a light Mexican beer (#?) suggested by the server at the bar. My favorite was the cold double IPA. Nice big open space with tables and a bar. Up a couple of steps to get to the venue. Parking was tricky. Staff behind the bar was friendly and helpful. Unisex bathrooms with locks and a common open station washbasin. Got noisy as the afternoon wore on. Enjoyed the visit. Got to pet the resident mouser. read more

As a non beer drinker I was not expecting to have such a good experience . Came for a food truck that was there stayed for the Cyzer ! Hands down one of my favorite Breweries (and places in general) in Baltimore. They are dog friendly! Even inside! The staff is so friendly and very helpful. They have tons of delicious brews that change frequently so there is always something new. I just attended Mobtoberfest (their version of Octoberfest) recently and they block off the street and have food trucks, music, etc. so check out their Instagram for food trucks and events... and live music in the brewery! I have even seen paint nights and things like that here too. Even though Mobtoberfest is over, the beer is still available for the Fall season! It's delicious if your into the Marzen beers... but my favorite is the Grand Pumpkin which is a stout with lots of vanilla bean! Again, it is seasonal so the selection rotates regularly! Last thing... Monday's they are closed but host the Baltimore Ping Ping League, which I have been happy to be a part of for the last few years! It's so fun and I love that it's here! We stopped by for a couple of beers and to watch basketball. We loved the open, warehouse vibes with amazing murals on the walls. We also loved the in house cat who charmed everyone he met. We happened to not like any of their beers (sampled many) but we'll be back for sure because we love the vibes, have more beers to try, and want to support a small business that's contributing to the community on really positive ways. They don't seem to serve food, but there was a food truck out back. Bartenders were super nice and friendly. Would recommend that everyone check it out. They have a ton of beers we haven't had a chance to try, so we'll be working our way through their options. It also seems like you're welcome to bring your own food in -- and it's very pet friendly. read more

I stumbled into Mobtown for the first time recently and loved it! It has a great atmosphere (kinda warehouse-y) with lots of seating, both bar seating and tables. They have about ~15 different beers you can choose from, as well as some "guest" selections. I tried a Hazy IPA (at the bartender's recommendation) that was great! They don't have food, but there was a food truck serving burgers and fries when we were there. There's also trivia every other Thursday! Pets and kid friendly. read more

Came here earlier today with my cousin and her dog (yes they allow dogs!) and was so pleasantly surprised. The space is now open indoors but still feels socially distanced enough to be safe during covid, also I really enjoyed the beer. Specifically, we got the better living through chemistry (which I loved but I really like sour beers) and the homegrown (which was a little spiced tasting but in a good way). Great brewery in Baltimore! Went to this brewery on a Saturday afternoon to hang out. About 18 beers on tap with a good variety. They also have ciders, cold brew, and kombucha on tap. We had the amber ale, tripel, imperial stout and the Hefeweizen. The amber was decent, but was a little light. The others were great tasting beers. Prices were pretty standard and they have cans and growlers to go. The place was pretty packed and small, but overall a nice brewery environment. Mobtown has a great atmosphere and great beer. There is limited outside seating, in the form of picnic tables in front of the building and some Adirondack chairs on the side of the building. The chairs face a busy industrial road, so it can get a little loud with trucks barreling by. Inside is spacious and pretty. There is a friendly kitty inside who made my night! They have quite a few delicious beers covering a wide variety of styles at any given time. Overall, I like this physical brewery experience and also their beer. I think Mobtown is underrated compared to some other members of Baltimore's thriving craft beer scene, but they definitely deserve a spot at the top. read more

Was very excited to stop in as I had heard so much about this place. I was with my fiancé and it was a Saturday afternoon, not busy, weird vibes, and not great beer. Not sure if it was just an off day, but experience her was just basic. Parking was fine as it is on the outskirts of the neighborhood in a renovated warehouse. Industrial feel inside with beautiful wall murals. There is a designated patio for dog with water. Kid and family friendly as we sat at a large communal table with a family. Have merchandise for purchase at the front. Crowley's and growlers to go. Service was ok, kind of off putting. Didn't say hello or welcome us in. Beer was ok. Nothing to rave about, or take a crowler/growler home with. 10 beers on tap, so we ordered a variety of pils, ipa's, and goses on our flight to get an idea of what they make. I knew from the first sip it was all we would be ordering. All the beers tasted flat. Not much in terms of flavor profile from the hops or fruits added. The Gose has the most flavor but was too sour for my liking. Overall I would love to give this place another shot, but depends on what they have on tap- never know because it changes so often. read more

Came here in a Saturday afternoon because I have been wanting to check them out. Tried a flight so I could sample a few beers. Got mostly IPAs and I believe one Gose. Unfortunately i was not impressed with any of their beers but it appeared that they have rotating beers so they may be different from week to week. They have a cool indoor/outdoor section you can bring dogs. The music was very low key and just did not seem upbeat. I wanted to be impressed by this place but unfortunately was not. This place was pretty small. Vibes are picnic tables - indoor and out. You can bring kids and dogs, which is both a pro and con depending on what you're looking for. We found the children running in between tables to be quite irritating. As others have mentioned, the colorful murals on the wall are beautiful. They typically have a food truck in the alley out back, but no internal food options. We liked the mead, which seemed to be more for winter. It had some spices in it, but a good option for those who aren't crazy about beer. Should go without saying, but they ONLY have beer options here. Solid beer selection from Mobtown, and some cider and non-alcoholic options from other local business for those folks who don't do beer. Rotating food trucks and BYO-food.
