TLDR: Great beer, unique food options, friendly service, and an ideal hangout spot for Ravens fans and post-work drinks. M8 Beer in Federal Hill was a pleasant surprise for a casual Friday lunch. Tucked beneath the I-95 overpass near M&T Bank Stadium's Lot H, this brewery has a sprawling indoor-outdoor layout that makes it an absolute must for tailgates, Sunday fundays, or after-work beers. The space feels clean, modern, and recently renovated, with TVs lining the entire bar area and plenty of seating both inside and out on the patio. The brewing operation is clearly a point of pride, with a full tank room on display in the back of the taproom. I ordered a Czechmate Czech pilsner and their Oktoberfest bier, and both were crisp, refreshing, and well balanced. They paired perfectly with the cool fall weather and my lunch choice, the kangaroo chili. The menu has all the usual bar staples but has in some fun nods to the owner's Australian roots (M8 beer, get it?). The chili was excellent, hearty, and flavorful. The kangaroo itself was surprisingly approachable, similar to ground beef in taste but with its own pleasant texture. The bartenders were friendly, attentive, and happy to walk through the tap list and make recommendations. I also learned they've recently begun distilling their own spirits, which means there's a cocktail menu I now have an excuse to return for. Between the atmosphere, the quality of the beer, the unique food options, and the unbeatable location for Ravens fans, M8 Beer is absolutely worth a stop. I'll be back soon, next time with a few friends in tow and a cocktail in hand.

Really enjoyed this establishment. Not too far from the stadium, just have to walk over the bridge. Good food. And they work well under pressure for large crowds on game day.

I really enjoy the variety of beers at M8. they have some unique Australian-inspired beers. They also have seltzer, wine, and non-alcoholic options as well. I tried their brussels sprouts ($9), which are flash fried and topped with pickled onions. It was sweet from the honey and had good flavor, but it was drenched in oil which made the brussels sprouts, lose their crispiness. The service was good. You order your drinks and food at the bar and they'll bring the food to you. I did notice that a lot of the beers on tap had a lot of foam coming out. I tried their homemade seltzer, which you can add a flavor to. My favorite was the mango seltzer. They also have a private parking lot under the bridge across the street and they are dog friendly!

Really Really good Australian style beers here! The kind that goes down easy, and you can easily drink too much of. I quickly got in the mood to box a kangaroo All the food is basic and delicious, reasonably priced, and comes out fast!!

M8 surprised me in a good way. The venue has 2 levels, and parking across the street, under the expressway. Didn't get to the 2nd floor because I was having too much fun on the first floor. The beer is on another level here at M8. It was exceptional. I cam say of the many beers and experiences I have had in Baltimore, this was one if the best. M8 has superior beer in a humble package. There is food here as well, and I didn't have any, but my cousin whi was with me said the chicken parm sandwich was awesome. The BEER: Czech Mate... Czech pils 5.4% ABV... s7ch a smooth, well balanced pilsner, quite impressed by the delicate delishesness of this well crafted beer Slim Dysty... Hazy IPA 5.8% ABV... not my favorite flavor profile for a hazy, but with that being said, this is an all day crushable IPA Decimator... doppelbock 8.1% ABV... well made, clean flavors in this exceptional doppelbock. This is deceptively smooth for a high ABV beer. So very good. Hammerhead hefeweizen 4.9% ABV... perfectly brewed hefe more clove than banana with a slight hint of lemon Baltimore is known for great craft beer and M8 is not the exception, but the rule. There are some great things happening here and if you are near M&T stadium in Baltimore and you love craft beer, this should be high on your list. Exceptional beer here.

A unique spot with a decent selection - and conveniently located across the street from the wedding we were attending in Baltimore. Actually a pretty solid sour I had here that I would get again for sure. Sporty yet modern vibe with some really cool apparel/merch too!

On the site of the old Checkerspot location is a brand new cleverly baked Australian themed brewery called M8. My wife and I are obsessed with all things Australia and hope to go there and love koalas so this place is perfect. The beer was great as were the meat pies and rolls. The ambiance is very cool with plenty of space to hang out before a game. The service is also very friendly and we got a Maryland flag map of Australia shirt too.

Finally made it here. Great beer this far.

Beer was pretty solid; nothing blew me away. But the food...bruh. The food here is phenomenal. We wanted the curry pie, but it had sold out. So I went for a burger, not expecting too much. That thing was juicy, flavorful, and the main reason they'd see me again.

Potential, this place definitely has potential. However, right now, they're just starting out and a lot of things have to happen before they reach success. First, they only have 2 M8 beers on tap, and I didn't enjoy either of them. But I am sure once they have more variety, there will be an option I like. Second, there's no personality inside. I'm still reminded of Checkerspot, but with all the Checkerspot vibe missing. M8 needs to put their stamp on the venue ASAP. Service was good, the employees were friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. And I dig the signage outside. Overall, I know this place is gonna be great. Looking forward to updating this review.

quite literally stumbled upon this place leaving another brewery (the one that used to occupy the space). So we decided to pop in and try a few things.I do have to laugh at myself a bit since I didnt realize M8 was pronounced "Mate" but once I knew that everything else made sense. They are brand new and still getting settled in so there isnt much personality in the space but that doesnt detract from the beer. I tried the Amber Lager and the Hefeweizen both light and refreshing and makes me want to try more. So i'll be back to get a full flight and share even more about the beer.

I love that they do weekly events such as Trivia and open mic nights to name a few as well as host a few several food trucks out back. Oh and this is the spot where they have that really nice flea market as well. You have to check their Instagram page to see which food trucks will be serving food. Saturday they had empanadas from Aru Aru, which were very yummy and made fresh to order. Best spot if you are a beer connoisseur, great place for happy hours and is accommodating for large parties. The old church and architecture is so warm and inviting-- it was still decorated and lit for Christmas so it felt extra festive. It WAS weird to see the brew tanks at the front of the old church, where the altar would have been. But it also places the beer on the altar of our Friday night so I was OK with that. I had an American Pale Ale, the husband had a Kolsch. My beer was exceptional and delicious. My husband said the kolsch was OK. They also have a cute space with books and board games! As well as a cool merchandise wall with excellent cool t-shirts. I had to restrain myself. There is no kitchen or food served here. Order at the bar and sit where you want, there are plenty of tables and a lot of elbow space. The folks at the bar are Super Nice and you should tip them well. They told me there is usually a food truck that shows up at an undisclosed time in the evening. We did order some fantastic pretzels (w/ smoked gouda) and waited some more but ultimately had to go find a meal elsewhere. We will be back, perhaps in warmer weather to wait out the food truck and have more beer. Also, we were there for happy hour so our beers were $5! Thank you to all of the kind people at The Ministry of Brewing! We will be back.

We were far from the only folks with kiddos (a lot of babies and toddlers around), which is why I was surprised I didn't see any high chairs or booster seats. Just be aware if you bring littles. I imagine the patio is probably a lot better in the warmer months, but be aware that there's not much indoor space in colder weather. The pizza was probably the best part of the visit. Their "plain" cheese, the "Formaggio" is a 5-cheese blend that we enjoyed, especially Child #1 and Child #3. We also enjoyed our pepperoni pizza (sorry, Child #2, no olives as a topping). My wife got the chicken tenders for Child #3 and they both shared it - said it was solid. My friends got the pretzels with their Jersey Pizza and the one piece I had was good - sweet and salty glaze; I just wish there were more to eat. The beers were okay. My wife and I are fond of sours, so we got the Peach Cobbler Sour and the Black Shadows wild ale. My wife commented how the peach cobbler sour was surprisingly bitter.
