Mostly EP cans in there. I cannot resist.

Hands down the best high quality brewery establishment in the area and there are many... I live 10-15 minutes away and feel blessed that they are doing what they do so nearby. They truly take their craft seriously. I like Waredaca and Beer Farm as well as they have their flashes of brilliance, but Elder Pine is for the beer connoisseur (maybe even snob as I am sometimes accused of). Lone Oak is OK too but to me that is more focused on the social experience than the beer. 10/5 stars for the beers at EP. Ignore the negatives for the food truck issues. Are you here to review a food truck that happens to park there, or the brewery??? My current favorite- Praamzius barrel aged. Awesome. Also love the rauchbier Imperator (more than the current Empyre) please consider doing that one again! Too many others to name.. Mostly EP in that photo- few Waredaca.

The bottle of Compendium gleamed like an artifact unearthed from a forgotten monastery of fermentation. Its label, engraved with a tome mid-decay, promised wisdom more than refreshment. The first sip confirmed it: a blend of 1-, 2-, and 3-year barrel-aged wild ales, tasting faintly of apricot, hay, and the slow entropy of oak. It was bright but patient, tart without cruelty, a living archive of microflora translating time into tang. Drinking it beside a glowing screen, the glass half-lit like an amber relic, you could almost feel civilization collapsing into its own yeast bloom. The tacos from the truck were a reminder of the body's simpler needs -- cilantro, onion, grease, the moral gravity of lime. Two amiable dogs wandered through the taproom, their presence proof that not all beings require purpose to bring peace. What began as a gesture of repayment for a friend became a quiet ceremony of gratitude and fermentation, a small echo of how humans make meaning from the living and the perishable. It is good to find beauty in something that never meant to be eternal.

I didn't see a food truck but i did try a flight of four beers: Empyreumatic - Helles Rauchbier (Smoke lager) best Rauchbier I've had outside of Germany; Pliable Foe - British dark beer (like a very mild porter); Moonscribe II - Belgian Blonde (it's tru blondes have more fun- pleasantly surprising, subtle citrus flavor); Bitter Geezer - Extra slSpecial Bitter ( true to the style and very tasty) This would be a great spot to stop for a pint or two on a bike ride to relax under the pines and enjoy good company

Great brewery with a fabulous outdoor aesthetic! + lots of outdoor seating + food truck on site + flights + covered outdoor seating and indoor seating + outdoor brews on tap - wish they had a bit more of a selection on tap , but I'd still return!

I really like this place. I moved to Florida recently, but this is one of the places I had to revisit on my first trip back to the state. The place has a good selection of places to relax and enjoy the weather. They have a cozy pine grove in the back with picnic tables and Adirondack chairs. Be sure to look up at the pine canopy above you. They have some picnic tables in the open with umbrellas. There is a covered patio with apce heaters. The main building itself has tables, a bar, and some games, along with an impressive collection of aging barrels on the wall. They have a rotating food truck on the weekends, often with BBQ. The beer is good. Usually there are a dozen choices of brews. They have a cooler with beer to go. They have a lot of IPA's (like most brewers these days, unfortunately), but they will always have some lagers and ales to try too. It is a lovely place to spend an afternoon in nature.

I wish I could have stayed longer! My husband and I were in the area this weekend and stopped by for a beer. The website kept stating they have limited seating so I was concerned that upon arrival we wouldn't get a seat. They have a huge deck in the back that is beautifully decorated with an outside bar. There are also several picnic tables in the wood line that allow for social distancing. If I had brought my pup, those are the seats I probably would have chose. The bartenders was super welcoming and friendly. They were knowledgeable about the beer selection. I tried the IPA while my husband tried the double IPA and one of the sours. All three beers were delicious. Unfortunately we were unable to stay long but would definitely visit again if in the area!

Is this brewery 21+ only or are children allowed?

You'll feel more comfortable here with kids in tow. Better yet, bring your dog, baby carriage and all necessary paraphernalia. It seems to be more the norm here.

Do they allow outside food? pets? any group number limitations?

Hello Felicia! We do allow outside food and non-alcoholic drinks, and your pets are more than welcome to join you. We love dogs here at Elder Pine! We don't have any limitations on group size, but we fill up pretty fast on the weekends, so it's best… Read more

Expectations were high, after my sister's go to craft brewery closed down and her husband took to Stone Silo immediately, signing up to be a club member. The building itself did have a stone silo on property that opened up to fields. There was a rustic, farm type feel walking in the front door. Welcomed by stone and dark colored woods, the facility was quite large and clean with ample seating. A glance outside there were fire pits and chairs to sit set, along with an 'adult only' section if you don't like your craft with a crying 2 year old. I sampled a few beer including the IPA, which was a bit underwhelming, but expected since the West Coast is known for quality IPAs. I settled on the Japanese rice lager, 'Nojo with Yuzu.' What a mistake! Not something I could get behind and I like yuzu too. Just too tart for a lager and not what I was looking for in my light beer selection. Second round I tried their Czech style dark lager, Clever Crow. Not sure what about this was supposed to be lager, it really felt more porter-ish to me, did not drink light and just not what I was looking for in a dark lager. The grounds and staff were great, it was a fun place to hang with family, but maybe I just made two poor beer decisions. Expected a bit more from the taps but would be willing to go back and give Stone Silo a second chance, as I know my bro-in-law will want to go back since it's close to the house

The beer itself is quite good, and the bathrooms are clean. No complaints there. The issue is atmosphere, or the lack of it. Service was efficient and accurate, but the bartenders ranged from detached to noticeably unfriendly, which doesn't exactly set the mood. There was a live band the night I visited, and they were good. They were clearly trying to get something going, but it just didn't take. Part of that may be the crowd, which I realize a brewery can't fully control. But it's a strange fit for the location. Seven Locks sits in an industrial park in a more modest part of Rockville, and the clientele skews heavily toward families who've come with kids, tablets, and dogs, and who aren't particularly interested in talking to anyone they didn't arrive with. There's nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't make for a lively bar experience. The result is a place that has the ingredients for something great but feels oddly joyless in practice. I'll probably try it again hoping something clicks, but right now it's a hard place to love.

I'm going to be honest.. this was not really a place that I think is appropriate for a show, a drag show at that. Lots of kicking, spinning, vogueing - and it was distracting to getting my drink down. I wish the space was more opened for the event. Additionally, the parking wasn't the best either. We parked on the street, about 0.2 miles away and were pleased to see there wasn't a charge posted on the meter. Almost an hour into the bingo show, my friend and I were hungry, and did not want the bags of chips floating around 7 Locks. So we left without finishing the game and went to go settle those hunger sounds. Overall, I don't think I would return to 7 Locks. There were a few missed moments and to top it all off, the crowd wasn't the most inviting either, as I asked a gentleman at a single table by himself, if the seats were taken (as my party of 2 stood for the first hour), and his response was that he would "let me know" once he finishes his pizza. Just - kinda rude in my opinion too.
