Popped into Waredaca for the first time about a week ago on our way to dinner. I've heard of the brewery but never knew where it was. We just happened upon it and decided it was the perfect place to have a before dinner drink as appetizer. This is definitely the place to be on any gorgeous day! Tons of outdoor seating options, plenty on the beer menu without being overwhelmed, and the bartenders were great with providing samples and good beer advice. First time I came here and it was super nice! Came because we were interested in the food truck here, and found ample parking, plenty of seating, an adorable and friendly cat. Ordered food and walked around, looking at the horses and the lake. Trivia was happening which is always a good time, and there were many teams playing. Great stop and worry the drive. Large area for outside seating but we chose to sit at the bar. Tap room manager and owner (?) were there and super friendly and willing to talk beer- always a plus from the restaurant-breweries that pretend. All styles (including ipas- which I'm not a fan) were on point and worth trying. The triple ipa we were served by mistake and ur was a great mistake. This place is family friendly ( but please have a designated nanny for your visit. Kids have large areas to roam and should be supervised) and offers a variety of scenery and ambience areas. read more

We really enjoyed our visit to Waredaca. After encountering them at the Silver Spring farmers market, we decided to visit the next day. It's a nice property and feels like you are getting away from the city a bit. Staff is friendly. We mostly sat outside but there are too many bees and not enough shade for my liking. They didn't have the beer I had sampled at the market, which was disappointing, but I liked what I did try. I appreciated The Pham food truck, which was really good. I'd return but either in the early evening or with plans to sit inside. read more

LOVE this place. So peaceful with great beer. Food trucks rotate daily so check their website. Horses and riders swing by periodically which is nice to see. Great area for the kids to run around and play. Staff is SO nice and they have a sweet outdoor cat named Musu that is also kid friendly. Dog friendly as well. Highly recommend. read more

Nice scenery! Visited over the weekend for an alumni event. Go Terps!! It was my first time here and certainly won't be my last. They're open Thursday through Sunday. Waredaca Brewing Company is definitely worth the trip out to the "country" if you're looking for a nice getaway close to home! While they offer plenty of inside seating, Waredaca really shines due to its outdoor seating and surrounding scenery because of proximity to a horse stable! There were plenty of picnic tables and individual seating in what was probably a pasture in a past life. I tried 3-4 different beers (the coffee stout was my favorite) this visit and each of them tasted great! The prices are also reasonable for the size of the pours. While the beers were great, if you're not a beer drinker then there isn't much here for you to enjoy beverage wise. While there was a food truck on-site during our visit, you can bring your own food to enjoy. You can also bring your own yard games which added to Waredaca feeling like going to a cookout or having a picnic but with beer on tap! read more

Located on a pretty large property, Waredaca offers an array of beer options from ciders to NE IPAs to appease most drinking palettes. From a beer selection standpoint, I love their offerings and they also offer various tasting and flight options for those (like myself) that like to taste a bunch without getting sloshed. Food offerings: they have a small selection of food that they make in house, but it's limited to basic "bar food" options like pretzels and pizzas. They do have a rotational food truck schedule (calendar on their website), so I would check before I go if you do plan on getting food there. Side note: on days they have food trucks, they don't usually serve food from their own kitchen. Setting/Ambience: they are located on a farm property with a beautiful landscape that they decorated well with the farmhouse aesthetic. It's great for kids to run around and play while adults get a chance to drink. Their outdoor area is great and I'd recommend checking Waredaca out on a day that permits outdoor seating. Their indoor area can get a little cramped on a rainy day. Overall, love the food, drink, and staff! read more

Very good beers. Lots of outdoor shade. LOTS of horses to look at. If you are driving there be careful not to accidentally drive into the horse parking lot (empty field), instead you want to look for the signs that say "brewery second left" if you are approaching from the east and there will be a gravelly parking lot. Would recommend checking the food truck schedule posted on their website and social media before you go so you know what food to expect on the weekends. Also recommend arriving early, a little bit before the live music starts, to get a shady table because the area does fill up. Almost all of the tables have some sort of shade or umbrellas. I was introduced to them during the Silver Spring FreshFarm market and my wife and I came with our best friend on Saturday the 22nd of October (a lovely fall day) and we got a flight with the Camptoberfest, Grumpkin, Maude, Mini Ha-Ha, and the Hard Lemonade which were all great and our favorite was the Mini Ha-Ha IPA. We also shared a hot and cold apple cider. To eat we had the Bavarian pretzel, cinnimon sugar pretzel nuggets, and a mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich which was all yummy. Despite Square being down and the QR code not working to order to the tables, the staff was very efficient and friendly. There is plenty of seating outside where you can see the horses but since it was a nice day we got one of the last tables. read more

Beautiful spot. Long lines. If it's a nice day or a fun event, the beer line is always prohibitively long. Food trucks get the same way. If you're with kids juggling the lawn/beer/food wait make it more stressful than fun. Seems that the regulars bring tents, blankets, a crowd of friends and a huge basket of food. They enjoy the environment and grab a beer when they can. That's the way to do it. On the upside, everyone who works here is always super friendly! Also the last time I was there I saw them setting up a horse trailer that had taps in it. That would help things a lot. But in the meantime, yeah, it's 3 stars for having bad crowd management for a long time. Over half of my visits to Waredaca have been cut short due to line frustration. This afternoon we walked around and didn't even get a pint. If that happens to you, check out Elder Pine brewing down the street or Brookeville Beer Farm around the corner. My wife and I met with my Sister and her husband who are from the area for some good food, fellowship, and Beer! We reserved a patio spot for 1pm. From the time we arrived we were treated with great care. The Property is Beautiful! The Service was great! The Beer was delicious and different and in a good way. I've been to a lot of breweries and their styles (IPA, Pale Ale, Lager) of beer taste too much like the standard version of what you come to expect from that particular style. This was not the case at Waredaca. Each beer was unique in tasting notes and how it hit our palates. Will definitely return when visiting family again. read more

Excellent beers here! My favorite was the 3-2-1 Raspberry Gose but I also really liked their new Cracklin Rose DIPA. Very impressed with these. Their Sir Maxwell red and Beecher IPA were also good. The taster flight was about $12 and was a good way to try different options, although they do offer smaller samples as well if you're just not sure which pint to get. As for the service and experience, these were so-so. The check in process was kind of weird since they require "reservations" even for walk-ins. They have a little trailer outside you have to go to and if you didn't make a prior reservation, they will make one for you with Resy. You have to choose indoor or outdoor seating and basically stay put. I chose outdoor and waited outside for like 20 minutes before giving up and going in to order. Whatever, it's COVID so everything isn't going to run perfectly smooth, I guess. Still had a nice time and the big grassy area outside is good for enjoying the day (beer in hand). Beautiful spot to gather friends and importantly, with ample parking available! This is just a few miles away from Lone Oak, which gets crazy busy on the weekends! We cohosted a shower here at Waredaca and it was the perfect venue for friends and family to gather in a safe, outdoor space. They have picnic tables with fire pits that you can reserve ahead of time for a reasonable fee. There are also other spaces which I'm pretty sure you need to reserve in advance, and other spaces which are a as-you-arrive basis. And of course, their brews are delicious and you have many options to choose from! I do love a good pumpkin ale and of course, had to get that as my first selection. An amazing time was had at Waredaca! We booked the yurt from 1-3 PM on 11/26/21. The weather was cold and blustery but the inside of the yurt was warm and toasty. We ordered from the QRcode and everything was delivered right away! The peach cobbler beer was delicious. I've been to a few breweries, but Waredaca is one of my favs. My friend suggested it and my first trip there was with her and her husband. The weather wasn't great, but we grabbed a picnic table outside. There's plenty of places to sit outside, and inside has several high tables and is where the bar is located. I brought the kids with me and they enjoyed it as well. Lots of space outside to play and warm fire pit to warm up. My husband got a flight and really enjoyed the IPA. I ordered a shandy, which I really liked. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed. The last time we went, we sat inside and just had a really good time. They had someone playing live music. They also have various food trucks here, so be sure to check them on out FB and IG to get updates. The bathrooms are located outside but are kept clean. They also have a larger bathroom around back for those with children, or who may require more space (i.e. walkers, wheelchair, etc.). read more

Waredaca makes me feel like good people own and run it. It's extremely family and dog friendly and always packed. The beers are good and continually rotating. On weekends they have some vendors that come and sell food. The most recent was wood fired pizza. They have limited inside area, but the outside is plentiful. Lots of space for the kids to get out the energy while you guzzle down your beers. They are on a horse farm and typically you can watch beautiful horses come by while you enjoy your day/night there. On weekends, parking is directed by someone as it can be a bit challenging to know which direction has a spot when you come up the drive. We often meet friends here and bring a picnic. Friends brought us here and it's quite a gem. Loved the plentiful areas to picnic as well as picnic tables available. It's a bit more spacious than some breweries I've been to so it creates a more relaxed and chill atmosphere. The horses romping in the pasture adds to the peacefulness. Unfortunately, it's not easy to remember what we had on our flight because the ordering was a bit confusing and you don't get the list after you order. Guess we'll just have to go back! But what I can say is all the beers were pretty tasty, including ales, a stout, and IPAs. Not part of the flight - the shandy - would be a favorite. The lemonade in general was refreshing - not too tart or too sweet - juuuust right. I really also loved the snack options available - especially the jars of olive oil/garlic mozzarella, honey, and crackers. Goes beautifully with the beverages. The BBQ truck that was there (Blues BBQ Co - that's what my receipt says) was also really great for snacks. The seasoned fries are on point and the fried macaroni with the spicy mayo was better than most fried mac n cheese I've had (and I've had this whenever possible bc, well, mac n cheese and fried...). It's a brewery on a horse farm. That alone makes it worthy of five stars, add a sixth star for being a pretty good brewery that's local. I was introduced to the brewery by two of my coworkers who play poker with one of the owners. They kept raving about a wheat beer with honey (Little Dam) that this guy brought to the game and mentioned that they run a brewery in Gaithersburg. I did my research and went to check this place out when I had to pick up race packets here for a trail run nearby. Now, this place has become my favorite space to spend a summer day locally. Bring board games or other entertainment (no good pokemons here), a picnic basket and you could easily spend a whole day here. A flight runs you $10 dollars for 5 of their selections. I told the brewery staff when I ordered one that it was a Sophie's Choice to pick the beers I didn't want, and they gave me a tasting with all the beers on tap. Out of all the beers I tried, these came out as the clear winners: White Flag with Black Raspberry-Belgian Wit with black raspberries from Butler's Orchard!!! REVEILLE-I love coffee stouts, this one is smooth drinking. Beecher IPA-the only IPA I can drink, without making a "it's too bitter" face. Strangely enough, the beverage I love the most here, are the non-alcoholic sodas. Last time they had a watermelon basil one. Judging by the sheer number of pregnant women and families here, they do need a non alcoholic option, and their homemade sodas are so good, that's the only thing I want to fill my growler with. Speaking of growlers, they offer crowlers here, which is a 32oz can that is uninsulated and will last 1-2 weeks, and have a great Maryland flag design on them. Now about the food situation, a ton of people you'll notice bring their own food, and that's welcome. They do have small plates and snacks are available for purchase in the tasting room. We're talking a great selection of local cheeses and Whole Foods variety salamis. One bad thing, they give out these craptastic knives from Ikea to cut the hard salamis with. These knives couldn't even cut dental floss. We used our own swiss army knives. So bring your own knive. Now for the ambiance, the tasting room is rustic with long farm tables and a few couches in the corner. The outdoors offers picnic tables and Adirondack chairs with cup holders, and fire pits. They also have a great hop field that's worth checking out. The brewery is very dog and family friendly, just in case you're allergic to either. I think I have to agree with Angela P. that this place is so great, you kinda want to keep the secret to yourself, but I'll share and let you know it's well worth the trip out here. read more

Came here with friends and as a non-drinker, this place is pretty nice. Service was prompt and they allow pets. I love that you can make an online reservation and we were seated on time. You can bring in your own food/drinks or they have food trucks to choose from. All the tables had umbrellas, so staying cool in the shade wasn't an issue on a hot day. We even saw the horses next door all come trotting down the field which was really cool to see. Parking wasn't bad although its on the grass. read more

This is a great place to sit, snack, and spend time with friends. They offer small plates, and it isn't bad, but's it's okay to BYOE. This is the perfect place to visit on a nice day. You can hangout with friends in a bucolic setting and sip on some beer. I've seen large jenga, cornhole, and even kids running around. It's like a park you can legally drink in. Waredaca is a new brewery that opened up in Damascus, right next to where I volunteer. So when they decided to do a fundraiser with the organization I work with, I says, "Why not?!" As mentioned, Waredaca is off the beaten path and is located on a horse farm. Though far, it is a wonderful retreat out of the city and even out of suburbia as you drive up the long driveway with horses eyeing you from either side of the gate, to claim your parking spot. Parking is limited, but worth it! Waredaca is BRING YOUR OWN FOOD! That means you can bring a pizza, a casserole, tacos, popcorn, pretzels, whatever your little heart desires. Or, if you're lazy like us, you take what you can get which is a HUMONGOUS HUNK OF CHEESE or ENTIRE ROLL OF SALAMI. Gout or get out! And, the cheese is awesome, local cheeses with rich flavors that stand up to the brews. And, the salami was delicious! High quality stuff so don't fret if you forget your little picnic basket. Beer: *** My favorite part of the day is beer. Their Beecher IPA stole my little heart. Nice, hoppy, very drinkable IPA. Perfectly balanced. Also, get the Maude if it's still available. A dubbel Belgian beer will take you for a wonderful ride. So rich, malty, and flavorful without overdoing it with the toasty/caramely notes. Who knew a small brewery in Damascus could blow a die-hard hopaholic away? Environment: A step up from your typical bare-bones brewery with their nice wood bars in the main room and a large, well-staffed bar. The bartenders were really friendly and efficient! The back room (entrance is to the right of the bar) was open during the fundraiser and had plenty of seating if you wish to see the huge brew kettles they have in the back! Also, limited outdoor seating which I hope they will upgrade soon. Overall: An astonishing feat in a once dry town, Damascus. They've managed to create a brewery that has both amazing beer and a much needed low-key hangout spot that is out of the city. Most of the time when I pass by, their parking lot is full which speaks to how successful this "little" brewery has been. We visited during the pandemic on a gorgeous Sunday, so the only reason I'm giving them 3 stars is a small benefit of the doubt on a busy Sunday and the beer was great. However, nothing else was good about this visit, except the weather and the company. We made a reservation about 1.5 weeks in advance for a table for 2. Don't even think of coming 5 minutes early, you have to stay in the car until your time. We never got a table; were assigned to Adirondack chairs with no umbrella and in the sun, told we couldn't switch bc they were busy. It took 20 minutes for a server to come to us, and we asked for water (never got it) and a second round. After 1 hour, no one came back for round 2. The toilets were filthy and stopped up (also reported to staff). This was the worst brewery we have been to since th Start of the pandemic. We want to support small business, but this place has a long way to go if you're going to open up for full capacity. Good luck, but we won't be back. read more

My family has been visiting Waredaca for several years now. We especially love visiting on summer weekends and enjoying the beautiful farm scenery over delicious beer and snacks. Of course COVID has impacted how often we are able to enjoy coming, but we have now had a chance to experience "COVID-times Waredaca" twice. Once over the summer just after they got back up and running and once just recently. Over the summer we were impressed by how well they had adapted to the health/safety restrictions, but this last weekend we were blown away! We reserved a "yurt" several weeks in advance. The day of our reservation it was sleeting like crazy with snow and ice already on the ground. We called and they said we were still on, so we headed out. Once we arrived it was clear some reservations had cancelled due to the weather, but they were more than happy to serve us. We had a ton of fun in the yurt with our fire just out front. Our fire was kept going (unbelievable given the weather!) by a very hardworking young man. Our server was very nice and kept the drinks coming. Went there today and prior we were a bit nervous about social distancing and masks as we've only been out in an outdoor retail establishment once since COVID-19. I was so pleased and relaxed once we got here though. You have to make a reservation online for an outdoor table, they give you a flag to put up for ordering so you never need to go inside. The picnic tables are far apart and per usual the beer is delicious. Our server was very nice and kept his distance and mask on everytime we needed to interact. The horses are always beautiful to watch as well. Will be returning- Waredaca is doing this right! read more

We've been here quite a few times, but I keep forgetting to review! The atmosphere definitely makes the experience. Every time we go, I'm able to find at least one beer that appeals to me...on this particular occasion, my bev of choice was "Little Dam Wheat" it was pretty stellar. Even my IPA loving husband enjoyed it. We were pretty busy chasing our kids around, so we even brought a crowler (32 Oz can) of the beer home, so we could enjoy in peace and quiet once the kiddos were in bed! Friends that we met purchased some snacks, including some meat and horseradish cheese, that was delicious! I don't typically love horseradish, but I would have never guessed that was even an ingredient. This place is perfect for groups, dates, kids, whatever. The staff is soooo friendly, the adjacent horse farm is beautiful, and parking is pretty easy! Definitely worth the trek! read more

Lots of green areas where you can come and picnic and lots of picnic tables as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our time hanging out and drinking beer on site. They had some very interesting flavored beers.
