Live music, snacks, plenty of cider options, and food trucks! I'm surprised this cidery wasn't a madhouse like its next door neighbor Butler's. This is now a must-do in my fall festivities list.

Down to the way from Butler's, a nice cidery. Picnic tables, live music from local artists. A good selection of cider and snacks. Great place to relax with friends and enjoy a drink.

This review only covers the orchard as I went there for apple picking. I went on a Saturday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised by the ample parking. There were a large amount of apple varieties to choose from. There were also options for purchase some of their cider and donuts while at the orchard. There was a food truck on site as well. Due to the timing of my visit, there was also a sunflower field with free sunflowers that customers could pick and take home with them. That was a nice added bonus and showed great customer service. I'll definitely be back!

    Sweet McIntosh (semi-sweet cider) - November 2024

I only like semi-sweet ciders. I am glad that here, they serve at least one on their menu as they mostly sell dry ciders. On my recent visit, the semi-sweet they had was called Sweet McIntosh. I ordered a small (I think), as the cup was tiny, but the cider itself was tasty. Wished I had ordered a bigger size. Chilled at one of the tables with a friend and listened to some live music. Their parking lot was packed and several of their fire pits were in use. Enjoyed my visit. Visited November 2024

We recently visited Doc Waters, and had a wonderful time! Never having been there before, we wanted to try all of the cider so we got two flights that allowed us to try all eight ciders on tap. They all were good and we had several favorites, including the bourbon barrel and the double hop. Their original was awesome, too. This is an all outdoor cidery. They have many picnic tables, but you can bring your own chairs. They do have food to order, however, we didn't try any on this trip. They had live music in a little band shell, which was wonderful. You can reserve a fire pit, but that would be better for a big group. It was just the two of us this time. We got a visit from the Director of operations and got to talk to him a bit about the business. He did say that they would be open in winter at times with igloos and heaters. I would definitely want to come back in the warmer weather. Service was great and they made us feel at home.

Fun nice time. Lovely outdoor area that is pet and family friendly. They also have trivia on fridays that I have been to a few times now. Cider is always good, tends to be a dry cider but they also have sweet cocktails if you like sweet now. I actually really like the non alcoholic cider they have. Good service, friendly people.

Beautiful spot. Too bad about the drinks.

Going into Doc Waters for the first time, I was immediately taken in by the beautiful location, the rustic farm feel, and the large, open spaces. They have two trailers, one which serves alcohol and one that serves everything else -- non alcoholic drinks, snacks, and the like. A third, more hidden, apparently serves burgers and stuff. The staff in the first one were having a lively discussion about the local high school (somewhat confused, they seemed to BE HS students -- serving alcohol?). Even with the adult supervision in the back, they couldn't be bothered to greet us, or help us, until I interrupted to order. The staff at the second trailer wasn't much more helpful, and equally disinterested. I got a flight of four, which were really unevenly poured. The hard ciders themselves went above and beyond the term "dry." They've eliminated any bit of sweetness or anything else that could give it flavour. I have had more delicious glasses of water. The final drink on the flight was a cider with orange guava passionfruit syrup. You know those sequels where they try to squeeze in 872 badguys and it just doesn't work? I had that in a cup -- and it tasted like syrup or koolaid, covering a fizzy, blah coder. The non alcoholic cider -- basically juice -- was sharp and acidic, slightly bitter. I have never poured an entire flight out before. But, I did not enjoy these ciders. Beautiful spot. Not worth the drive. Rude / disinterested staff. Bad drinks.

These ciders are disappointing. I tried the cider flight but I wasn't a fan of any of the ciders. They were overly dry and flavorless. For D, i chose the passion fruit orange guava flavored cider so I expected it to have more flavor than the others but it was undrinkable. I only took a sip of each before dumping them out. I also tried the charcuterie combo which is just boars head smoked Gouda and salami, so nothing unusual. To attempt to wash down the alcoholic ciders, I tried the non-alcoholic cider. It was bitter and sour, not worth it. Unfortunately also got poured out. It's a shame the ciders were subpar because the location is beautiful with fire pits, games, and food trucks.

What a wonderful place! I came here with a small group in sept 2020 for my birthday. I love all their ciders, and I'm also a sucker for frozen drinks, so I really enjoyed the frozen ciders too! There is a lot of open space and tables available. the field is very large. There are picnic tables out in the open field but also tables under some shade. They also have bonfires if you can snag that spot! At night it's gorgeous with all the lighting they have up, so you don't have to worry about going home at sundown. I would highly recommend this place to anyone! Even if you typically do not drink ciders, I do still think it is worth visiting and trying it out! Angry orchards are way too sweet for me, but I loved the selection at Doc Waters! I would definitely go back! I bought a t-shirt too!

Want a fun day out with friends and family? Try Doc Waters Cidery!! Located in Germantown, Maryland it is an outdoor oasis perfect for hanging out with friends and family. Reservations are required to obtain seating, especially when they are busy. You can even reserve a fire pit, if you are lucky. There are cozy seats around the fire pits, that's a whole mood while you sip your cider. They have many different flavors of cider, and a good selection of alcohol and non-alcoholic ciders & slushies for your tasting pleasure. You can pack a picnic or enjoy one of the food trucks they invite for the day. Check out their website, it will clue your into the food offering on upcoming days. I truly enjoyed my day there, it was a fun relaxing day. That was imbued with the spirit of Summer and camping, with the feel and fresh tranquil smell of nature, with that camp fire fragrance. All that was missing was graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate. It was a great weekend one-day adventure, which I'd give four stars. Perfect for zenning out your stressed out souls. My only suggestion, is that they label the cider flights. That will make it easier to reorder, once you've discovered the flavor you like best. Please take a drive into the country and get to know this beautiful country gem.

We started our adventure here before going to the orchard. It wasn't too difficult to find parking, and a brief walk down to the entrance where you check in with staff as we had to make a reservation. While the views were very pretty, it was still underwhelming as an atmosphere. I would have anticipated more locations to purchase drinks and food, more yard games and better decor. I see the place is having a lot of potential, but perhaps it's needing business to grow a little bit more before implementing those changes. Both our drinks and food were delicious despite them being out of a lot of the food on the menu at the time. We were able to find seating without issue. I would recommend giving it a chance before heading over to the orchard.

Ask the Community - Doc Waters Cidery

Are any of their ciders sweet, or are they more dry? Some places I've been to had really hoppy cider which is not really my cup of tea!

Most of their ciders are on the dry side - a few like the blackberry has some sweetness to it but it depends on what is in season. For the most part, these are on the drier side - not like Angry Orchard - more like Austin Ciders. Hope that helps!

Not a single person in our party enjoyed a single flavor out of 6. This isn't just personal preference, the taste is bad. A number of reviews reference the taste of nail polish remover and I have to agree. The two stars are only because of the nice workers. I would not recommend to anyone.

The staff was super friendly, and the overall vibe was laid-back and inviting. It's definitely a place meant for chilling with friends rather than catching a game. They do have a TV (maybe more than one, I didn't really notice), but the placement and size make it clear that this isn't a sports bar, and that's totally fine. It's more of a hangout venue with its own cool personality. Parking can be a pain, so plan for that ahead of time. That's probably the biggest frustration. As for the ciders, they weren't really for me, but that's just personal taste. I still had a great time, and I plan to return to try more ciders in hopes of finding one I like. It's definitely worth a visit for the atmosphere and the experience.
