This is a chill spot with friendly staff, even if the ciders weren't quite my thing. Lost Boy Cider is a very cool spot to hang out, relax, and enjoy something a little different. The staff was super friendly, and the overall vibe was laid-back and inviting. It's definitely a place meant for chilling with friends rather than catching a game. They do have a TV (maybe more than one, I didn't really notice), but the placement and size make it clear that this isn't a sports bar, and that's totally fine. It's more of a hangout venue with its own cool personality. Parking can be a pain, so plan for that ahead of time. That's probably the biggest frustration. As for the ciders, they weren't really for me, but that's just personal taste. I still had a great time, and I plan to return to try more ciders in hopes of finding one I like. So happy to have found this place! We looked up some spots to listen to live music on a Friday after date night dinner and saw there would be a live band here. We made our way over and were delighted by this vibrant cidery. They have an awesome range of ciders to choose from as well as flight options (or a build your own) to let you try multiple. They also have some wines available if you're not a cider person. There was a food truck out front but we didn't try any since we'd just eaten. It smelled awesome though! We also noticed take out from other places at some tables so you may be able to bring your own food as well. The inside is fun and bright with whimsical decoration. Lots of seating available along with a cozy couch area. There were some classic arcade games too and we had a blast playing pinball! There's also some cool merch like shirts, hats, and stickers to purchase. The live band was great and there was even some space around where they were playing so people could dance. I was here for a private party so cannot really judge this bar. Their regular way of doing business is that if you want food, there is a food truck parked out in front. Other than cider, which you can also get in flights, seltzer water or just plain water you get yourself from a dispenser at the end of the bar, I think that's all that's served. I'm almost never in Alexandria, but I'd come back here! An old friend who lives in the area suggested this place for a meetup and it was a good spot. The space is welcoming, with lots of tables both inside and outside. My friend recommended it because it is a place that is both kid and dog friendly; I saw several folks with dogs or small children there (I brought my two kids) There is an extensive selection of ciders. We stopped by this cidery while in the area and at the recommendation of others. It located in a giant converted warehouse off of Eisenhower, just outside the main part of Old Town. There is plenty of free parking in the lots and street nearby. This is one of the few exclusively hard cider places in the area so I was very excited to try all the different flavors brewed onsite. There was a private event beginning at 5 pm so we weren't able to stay for long. There is a large indoor space with seating that opens to the outdoor patio. We ended up just sitting at one of the indoor tables since it was closing soon. I like that they have taster sizes as well larger sizes so we could mix and match. We ordered two sets of tasters (8 different ciders total) at the bar and still did not try them all. The service was quick and they showed us what each of the tasters were. The ciders were crisp, tart and unique with flavors like sake, starfruit, raspberry, habanero and plum. These weren't the sweet type of ciders which I appreciated. I walked in expecting 2 maybe 3 flavors of Cider, but no. There were like 12 or more flavors to choose from including a Cider slushie! They brew the cider in house (ask to take a tour!) So everything is fresh and delicious. I recommend the Amelia (BlackBerry and lavender.) Lost Boy Cider is a unique craft cider house that brings an authentic take on hard cider. I have to admit that at first I was a little befuddled in my visit to this venue, because my knowledge hard cider basically extends Magners Irish Cider. However, I soon learned that there are many forms of cider, and Lost Boy produces something known as farm cider, a beverage that is lighter and with less of a bite than Magners. Here you'll find ciders infused with such flavors as pineapple and pomegranate. They even have a hop laced cider that is somewhat reminiscent of an IPA. However, for me, the clear winner was the Apple Cider Slushee, a drink that is everything I wish 7-11 could be. This drink will certainly be my go to on my next visit. Now, to be fair, Lost Boy Cider is going through some first week growing pains, but I'm certain those will be worked out in no time. I had mixed feelings during my first visit to Lost Boy Cider. A couple of first impressions about the atmosphere. We visited on an extremely hot day - so hot that our cider flight got warm after just a few sips. They leave the giant garage door open and despite the large fan, the room was sweltering. Also, when we walked in, we were not expecting to be almost run into by children. Kids at a cidery? Strange. I get that parents need a drink every once in a while (I'm a parent, too) but why not leave the kids at home? Anyway - now more about the cider. We weren't thrilled with any of the flavors we had in the flight. If I had to pick a favorite it would be the Slasher with raspberries. The spicoli with pineapple was tasty too. But, they were all a bit dry for my taste. They are very generous with their pours on the flights, so if you like the cider, you'll be happy!
