If you happen to be a beer geek like my partner and I then this place should be on your list. They push the boundaries of what you even think about as beer with an amazing combination of lambics, sours, fruited stouts, kolsch - but none of them taste like what you think of when you think of beer.

A fun but unrelated sign. Don't get your hopes up for the sandwiches

Our first visit to Mieza certainly won't be our last. Alex was a great host (the owner, brew master, and bartender all in one). Our group showed up at opening and got to ask questions about the process and his thinking around the future of his blends/what he is looking forward to trying. He has a stock of bottles that have been aging from 2020 available to take home and his newer beers will be available in a few weeks. The draft list is tight but has a good variety of tastes. You'll be surprised in a good way by several of them and the list will change over time. Intimate space, good for conversations and enjoying delightful drafts

I love it here! My partner discovered Mieza Blendery a couple weeks ago and we decided to try it out since it's so close to where we live. We've been two times now and have nothing but great things to say. The employees are so friendly, and they remembered us on our second visit. We've tried almost all of the drinks they have on tap and haven't tasted one that we don't like yet. It's very cozy inside, and not too loud. We definitely will be regulars here!

Located in a business park, this unassuming storefront hides behind it a relaxing place for experiencing novel beverages with creative composition. Honestly, I've never been in a place quite like this. Note, this is not a place to get drunk. The fact that it closes so early should tell you that. But if you like pleasant conversation with friends as you sample very different adult beverages, and at a very reasonable price, this is your place. We stuck to the 4 ounce size, so we could try more things. I think this is the way to go. Shout out to the owner's dad, Jim, for his patient and kind explanation of the various options on the menu.

The menu is a mix of fun takes on classics, with everything that we had tasting great! I had the Shrimp Po Boy, which was a sizeable serving and tasted great! I loved the thick, crispy fries on the side! Finished the meal with the lemon cake, which was a refreshingly sweet finisher! Overall, a really solid spot for casual, comfortable food in the area!

Both times we've gone, we've ended up in the whiskey bar section. It's cozy, a little tucked away, and honestly the perfect setting for good drinks and good conversation. We also got lucky on both visits because Jessica took care of us each time. She's fantastic. She's witty, sharp, and knows the menu and the whiskey list inside and out. She makes choosing drinks or food feel effortless and fun, and she brings a ton of personality without ever overdoing it... she reads the group pretty well. The cocktails are excellent, but the whiskey selection is where they really stand out. You can tell the bartenders know what they're doing. The pours, the recommendations, the way they talk about the bottles on the shelf, it all shows real skill and pride. The food has been consistently great. We've tried the burgers, the chicken sandwich, the braised short rib, and the crab dip, and every single one has been a hit. Flavorful, well made, and worth coming back for. The only thing I probably wouldn't order again is the pulled pork. It wasn't bad, just not the style or flavor profile I look for in a place like this. Do it.

Lots of interesting beer to try and it's a very casual spot. Makes me feel like more of a local. The food prices have definitely got higher since I last came. They usually had really good sandwiches. The staff was super friendly, and the overall vibe was laid-back and inviting. It's definitely a place meant for chilling with friends rather than catching a game. They do have a TV (maybe more than one, I didn't really notice), but the placement and size make it clear that this isn't a sports bar, and that's totally fine. It's more of a hangout venue with its own cool personality. Parking can be a pain, so plan for that ahead of time. That's probably the biggest frustration. As for the ciders, they weren't really for me, but that's just personal taste. I still had a great time, and I plan to return to try more ciders in hopes of finding one I like. Not a look, not a wave, not a word. We left having not given any opportunity to order, much less receive a beer. I promised to never go back. We have walked by no less than fifty times since. Last night, with a few beer drinking friends in town, with four perfect bar stools open, we dove in. We sat for ten mins. I timed it. The Barback was kind enough to give us waters, and the host gave us menus with recommendations... but not a wink, a smile, or middle finger from the bartender... again, I walked out without a beer, and again I swear I will never return. Shame, great beer selection, and cool environment.

At first, you'll see what looks like just a pizza shop -- but if you head in and either use the side door or walk through and climb a set of stairs, you'll find the speakeasy upstairs. Very cool vibe: dark, cozy, and date-night ready. Drinks: 4/5 I ordered their take on an Old Fashioned, and it was definitely the highlight of the night but sweeter than I would have liked. They served it over a stamped solid block of ice (a small detail I ). My friend was abstaining from alcohol that night and asked for a non-alcoholic cocktail. To our surprise, they didn't just hand her a lemonade like most places -- they actually made her a crafted virgin drink, which she loved. Food: 3/5 We ordered fries and a slice of pepperoni pizza. The fries turned out to be waffle fries (not mentioned on the menu) and were overly crispy, so not really our favorite. The pizza was fine -- clearly sourced from the shop downstairs -- but it leaned oily and didn't really wow us. Service: 5/5 Pretty standard -- nothing over the top, but not neglectful either. Drinks came out reasonably fast, food followed, and we were checked on enough without it feeling pushy. Vibes: 4/5 The speakeasy itself is definitely the selling point. Dark, intimate, and stylish -- you feel like you've found a little hidden spot. All in all, the cocktails are the reason to come, especially if you're into whiskey. The food was forgettable, but it's convenient that you can order pizza upstairs. We spent about $30-40 for drinks and snacks, which isn't shocking for Old Town. Would I go back? Maybe if I was already in the area, but for a dedicated whiskey night, I'd probably head somewhere else.
