If you happen to be a beer geek like my partner and I then this place should be on your list. They push the boundaries of what you even think about as beer with an amazing combination of lambics, sours, fruited stouts, kolsch - but none of them taste like what you think of when you think of beer.

A fun but unrelated sign. Don't get your hopes up for the sandwiches

Our first visit to Mieza certainly won't be our last. Alex was a great host (the owner, brew master, and bartender all in one). Our group showed up at opening and got to ask questions about the process and his thinking around the future of his blends/what he is looking forward to trying. He has a stock of bottles that have been aging from 2020 available to take home and his newer beers will be available in a few weeks. The draft list is tight but has a good variety of tastes. You'll be surprised in a good way by several of them and the list will change over time. Intimate space, good for conversations and enjoying delightful drafts

I love it here! My partner discovered Mieza Blendery a couple weeks ago and we decided to try it out since it's so close to where we live. We've been two times now and have nothing but great things to say. The employees are so friendly, and they remembered us on our second visit. We've tried almost all of the drinks they have on tap and haven't tasted one that we don't like yet. It's very cozy inside, and not too loud. We definitely will be regulars here!

Located in a business park, this unassuming storefront hides behind it a relaxing place for experiencing novel beverages with creative composition. Honestly, I've never been in a place quite like this. Note, this is not a place to get drunk. The fact that it closes so early should tell you that. But if you like pleasant conversation with friends as you sample very different adult beverages, and at a very reasonable price, this is your place. We stuck to the 4 ounce size, so we could try more things. I think this is the way to go. Shout out to the owner's dad, Jim, for his patient and kind explanation of the various options on the menu.

It was delicious and the cheddar grits were good too. Paired together, it was a good portion size and the price was reasonable considering the amount of crab. My only slight complaint is there were a handful of small crab shell bits in there. I also tried the Fried Green Tomatoes ($11), which were pretty good as well. The place itself has a nice chill cozy vibe with an old fashioned wooden theme. There are 2 levels to the restaurant with a bar on the upper level. The staff are very friendly and the service speed is quick. Overall, I would definitely recommend Chadwicks for a good casual brunch in Alexandria.

I ordered a side Caesar salad, new England clam chowder, and their crab sandwich with fries. Food just wasn't great. Considering I haven't eaten all day, I feel like that's saying a lot. The Caesar was ok but I wouldn't get it again. The clam chowder .... Nope, had way better. The bartender said they were known for their crab cake. Um their sandwich wasn't horrible but I wouldn't get it again. They should of had some tartar sauce with it... the fries were actually pretty good. I had a ginger beer there and that was good as well. Bartender was fast, social, great communication and honestly the only reason I'd come back for a drink or something. He was just one of those chill dudes id probably hangout with... Not in a gay way being that I'm a straight guy lmao

The staff was super friendly, and the overall vibe was laid-back and inviting. It's definitely a place meant for chilling with friends rather than catching a game. They do have a TV (maybe more than one, I didn't really notice), but the placement and size make it clear that this isn't a sports bar, and that's totally fine. It's more of a hangout venue with its own cool personality. Parking can be a pain, so plan for that ahead of time. That's probably the biggest frustration. As for the ciders, they weren't really for me, but that's just personal taste. I still had a great time, and I plan to return to try more ciders in hopes of finding one I like. It's definitely worth a visit for the atmosphere and the experience.

I ordered the corned beef and cabbage on DoorDash, fully expecting the usual takeout roulette: soggy cabbage, tired meat, and a mild sense of regret. Instead? I got hit with a full-on Irish blessing disguised as dinner. The corned beef was so tender it practically whispered "top of the mornin'" and fell apart on command. No knife, no effort--just fork, bite, and immediate life improvement. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked like someone back there has ancestral pride on the line. And the cabbage? Listen... cabbage is usually just there for emotional support. Not this time. This cabbage had purpose. This cabbage had ambition. By the end, I wasn't "finishing my meal"--I was chasing the last bites like I'd just spotted the end of a rainbow. Container: empty. Dignity: questionable. Satisfaction: unmatched. If this is what survives a DoorDash trip through Old Town, I'm convinced eating it fresh in the pub might unlock hidden Irish heritage I didn't even know I had.
