My friend and I go to 1969 in Astro Beer Hall several days a week to shoot pool, eat, and drink. I went on 8/23/2026 at 4:15 P.M. and saw that 1969 was closed. I asked the manager why. He said that they can't staff it. I asked him to find the staff. He said, no, it will be closed all night. I told him that he just lost my business. He said, " We don't need your business." read more

This is a beer hall. Went here with my girlfriend on Finals weekend for the World Cup. Service was slow, which was to be expected. Servers were friendly enough and gave us good drink recommendations. We had espresso martinis and loaded tots minus bacon. No complaints. Everything was fine. Solid outing. read more

Always a great time at Astro! Sometimes you have to wait for service but all in all they always pull through. My go to is the smash burger and tots!! Love their crispy tots. Since I don't eat meat they do offer the smash burger to be subbed with impossible meat. One of my favorite bartenders is Sammy!! He's always great with listening to my drink orders especially when I have a special request and a great person to have conversation with a boy sports and such. Cool guy that loves his family!! If you are around and need a trivia night, want to play pool, play darts, or just looking for a good time...head on down to Astro!! read more

Astro Beer Hall - Drink I made up on the left and a jalapeño Margarita on the right - Donuts Near Me - Arlington, Virginia

Astro is a great place to hang out in your late twenties to early thirties. Top level has a full bar and some arcade games, lower level with pool tables and darts. There's always multiple sports games on. Trivia on Mondays and Tuesdays every week. The food is a bit pricey for bar food, unless you get the $10 deal after 9 pm. Best bargain in Arlington! Choice of a smash burger or chicken sandwich with tots or fries and a drink. The waiters are attentive and are great with large groups. read more

Tried this for dinner on friday night before a show at the signature. They do take reservations but we learned it was only for the picnic tables - the booths are first come first serve and you have to go to the bar for service. We had a few beers and then two of the chicken sandwiches. I really liked the chicken BLT but the chicken hummus wrap was bland. I was surprised they didn't have more local drafts on tap. But it's a cool place so I'll be back for sure. read more

Bar Food was pretty good. I had their smash burger with fries at the evening happy hour price. You order with a QR code and they bring it to you, so there's not much interaction in terms of service. So we decided to sit at the bar instead. Bartenders were pleasant, but not much interaction. Food was served hot and really prompt. Not much wait time. Atmosphere downstairs is eclectic, colorful, games, relaxed environment. They even have couches and cozy seats. Highly recommend. Plan to go back. read more

This is a fun place in shirlington with plenty of events, food and games. I came here for brunch with a friend. We didn't have a reservation but they had plenty of seating. My friend got the chicken avocado wrap and I got the burger with tater tots. The burger was so good! I would definitely come back just to have it again. The service was great. Everyone was very attentive. The ambiance for this place is great. It's so big and they have so many fun events. The tables are well spaced also. read more

After a long day of exploring the Nat. Mall and Arlington Cemetery. It was time for some beer and some bites. The beers on tap were plenty. Had a nice mix of local beers - which is what I stuck with. The pretzels weren't made in house, or at least I don't believe they were - but they were still well made and tasted good. Beer mustard was delicious. Astro has their own doughnuts and fried Chicken shop right next door, so I figured I had to try the fried chicken. Unfortunately they were out of dark meat so audibled to the white meat. It was still extremely moist and delicious! TV's had multiple games on. Didn't feel service was too friendly/welcoming at the start, but toward the end before leaving I felt that improved. Recommend stopping by for a beer and chicken!! read more

If you're coming for beer and games, this is the place for you. Has plenty of TVs parking garages and seats and the food is definitely lacking, but the special after 9 PM five dollar chicken sandwiches and smash burgers is a deal. The fried pickles are heavily breaded and need to be taken off the menu immediately. Will be back you because my friend likes this place to watch the game read more

My top recommendation when coming here: get the fried chicken! I'm not the biggest fan of fried chicken but this was IT!!! Got the honey chicken sandwich (not pictured), 4 piece chicken and kids burger sliders. Everything was great but highly recommend the fried chicken! They also have amazing HH deals and reverse HH deals! They were so strategic about game day coverage! Great fo game day! IG @msbellalove for more reviews! read more

I didn't know Shirlington had an Astro and it was such a pleasant surprise to learn so last night! The vibes were very similar to the location in DC, I wonder if it's expected for every Astro to have a basement area too. The asteroid fried chicken sandwich was excellent as expected and the tots were a perfect pairing. We were at the bar to watch college sports and the servers were very helpful in making sure we could see the games we wanted to see. Fun times to be had for sure when I come back next! read more

Good beer list. Sat at the bar. Service was meh - not very friendly and not very attentive.

Lots of space and ideal for large groups, the bench seating in the back comfortably sat all 9 of our group. We made a reservation but it was fairly empty during brunch time on Sunday. Our server was quick and attentive. The egg royale was good -- soft and savory biscuit breakfast sandwich; -the egg was cooked well, bacon wasn't crispy enough but edible, the biscuit itself was starting to get soggy but I prefer it soggy to dry. The tater tots weren't that great--very standard and no seasoning - on the dry side, so get something to dip with. I tried the rosemary mustard which was good (charged extra). But they were very generous with the portion. I was stuffed. The cold brew was okay, not the most memorable. I liked that it came in a to go container because I definitely couldn't finish it because it was strong. I'd say food is better than what I'd expect for a beer hall, so that's a plus! Would I come here specifically to eat? Probably not. Definitely top contender for big groups and gatherings though. read more

the service was good tho our waitress was clearly overworked. It took way too long to order refills. If you're coming to watch the game and order a beer, this may be your place. The sirachi wings were pretty good but that's where the food flavor ended. Save your money and pick any other restaurant in Shirlington to eat. The noise level is too loud to have a conversation but normal for a sports bar. Two of us ordered the frozen drinks. cherry lemonade and mango something, both were bitter and returned for an equally lackluster iced tea. The fried chicken nachos used a cheese sauce that was both cold and tasteless. I'd NEVER come back for food!! If you're coming for anything other than to watch a game and pay too much for a beer, keep walking. I could've saved my $200 read more

This is an interesting place but I think best for a younger crowd. The good: The totchos were amazing. Rarely do you get perfectly cooked tater tots. Here they were and loaded up with cheese sauce, sour cream etc. ...and the Bavarian pretzels! Chef's kiss. The bad: The bar was incredibly loud. The floor, the walls and the ceiling are all hard surfaced. Nothing absorbs any sound. It was also really hot in this bar. We were even downstairs and still sweating. The beer selection is quite extensive, but I am unlikely to return. There was no table service, you had to order and pick up food at the bar. I am used to places being comfortable and not sweating indoors. read more

This review is based on the gaming options and ambience. I didn't have a chance to try any food this time so I will be back for a review for that. I stopped in just as I was walking by because the place looked intriguing. I was interested in throwing some darts so that's the first thing I did. I'm actually pretty good at the game but noticed the bull's-eye was not sticking. Upon closer inspection, I saw that it cannot stick because the board is worn down and missing in the bull's-eye area. Anyway after that game was over, I walked around and saw that the place is pretty cool. There's a downstairs area for adults only that is a bar with a lot of cool, chill areas as well. I talked to the bartender when I was down there who told me after 10 PM things really pick up so that's pretty exciting. All in all seems like a nice place. read more

Didn't try the food but the vibe was incredible and the skee-ball was fun. Open pretty late so go after dinner for less crowds.

Service: The service is well intentioned and appropriately apologetic for their mistakes... Ordered avocado toast, with sunny side up egg, this came out still transparent. Ordered a matcha green tea, it took 15 minutes to arrive. Ordered warm cinnamon roll, it arrived cold, ordered the fried chicken the forgot the order, ordered the grapefruit mimosa kit, they brought orange. Do with this what you will...proceed with caution. Food: Matcha was well blended and very well. Also a perfect temperature. The bacon was good 3 slices for $5. Well the avocado toast arrived with an egg that wasn't translucent it was okay but could have benefited from some everything bagel seasoning or a bit of lemon juice within the guacamole. Cinnamon roll left a lot to be desired and was overpowered by the frosting. Minimal brown sugar and Cinnamon. I have been waiting for the fried chicken for 32 minutes and it still has not arrived so I cannot to attest to that currently. Night time entertainment: we were here after Oktoberfest Saturday evening and the pool tables were great $20 per hour and the darts $5. We would recommend you bring your own darts. Drinks and bartenders aimed to please and cocktails were very tasty. Would return for night life but not the brunch. read more

Astro Beer Hall is a wonderful place to watch football on Sundays, they have the Sunday ticket so they got all the games! The service is very good, everyone is super friendly, our server got us our drinks and food out real fast:) The Maine lunch is a very good beer, the avocado and toast is a good healthy option especially if u have a dairy allergy, and the waffles and bacon were excellent as well. The ambiance is very nice, the massive screens on the wall help out a lot, chairs are super comfy, I def wanna go back for future Patriots games! Way to go Astro Beer Hall! read more

Stopped in at Astro for happy hour with some friends. The happy hour deals are limited to some of the apps but I was feeling hungry so I ordered the Old Bay All Day, mostly because I was curious what an "Old Bay Doughnut Bun" tasted like. The answer? Pretty damn good. The donut bun was very light, almost airy, and worked really well with the savory flavors of the Old Bay seasoning and sriracha mayo. The fried chicken on the other hand could've done with some more seasoning and flavor. I also deviated from my norm and got the side salad instead of tots or fries and I was pleasantly surprised - it was actually a very good little side salad! So mixed bag on the sandwich but I'm curious about their other donuts and brunch options now. read more

We came on a busy night. When you enter, there's a sign that says seat yourself. It took us a minute to find a table, and once we did, we realized there was only one waitress working our area. After 9pm, there is the happy hour for $5 smash burgers or chicken sandwich and it comes with fries or tots. When the waitress came, she told us they were pretty much out of everything. We wanted the smash burgers, but told it was out. It's a bit strange that after 5 mins of doing the happy hour burger that they ran out. Anyways we tried the chicken burgers instead. My reason for 3 stars is because our orders were made incorrectly. We had a party of 5, and we made modifications to the chicken sandwiches, like no sauce or no pickles or no coleslaw. She also asked us if we wanted mild, medium, or hot. I felt like all the chicken sandwiches were made incorrectly because most were spicy. With the sandwiches, we should have had 3 that came with fries and 3 with tots. What we received was 2 tots and 4 fries. I understand that it's a busy night because of the football game, but she didn't come back to refill our drinks. Most likely we will return, because the $5 deal is pretty good. We just won't come when there's a game going on. read more

We hosted our CADRE Holiday Party at Astro this year and it was a HUGE hit! The private area was lovely and filled with lots of fun games and festive decorations. The phone booth was a delightful photo opportunity! The service was spectacular from booking to payment. And the food was DELISH! Best bar in Shirlington. Large bar area. Patio seating, good food, and attentive staff.

OK so I know this is a beer hall, but their cookies are THE BOMB! I had the dark caramel, s'mores, and PB&J. The texture is like a very very fudgy brownie more so than a cookie. It wasn't easy to pick up any of the cookies, but that didn't detract from the flavortown. They're so rich and decadent and perfect for a fall evening (or any evening you're craving a delicious sugar bomb). The beer selection is decent, though I expected more from a "beer hall" and they ran out of one of the beers when I visited... but it's still a good vibe in there. I would go back for the cookies! read more

Good food and good fun at Astro Beer Hall. I went with my family for brunch. I ordered the classic breakfast which had two eggs (any style), bacon, toast and tater tots (or home fries). It was filling and enjoyable. They had a lot of interesting cookies and donuts on the menu as well. I'm dairy free though and they didn't have any dairy free options. They looked good so I wish I could've tried them. After the great food and the fast service, we went over to the arcade. I bought a $20 game card for my group of 4. That kept us busy and having fun at the vibrant and reasonably priced games for about 30 minutes. Overall we had lots of fun and left happy. Hope to go back again soon! read more

Came here on a Sunday night for dinner with some friends and to watch some football. Parking is pretty easy to find on the street. Inside, the space is huge and we were seated immediately. We ordered some drinks (I tried one of their local beers which was pretty good!) and some appetizers. We had the fried pickles, mac n cheese bites, loaded tots, and the fried chicken sliders. Our food came pretty quickly and it was delicious! The fried pickles were lengthwise which was interesting, but the mac n cheese bites, loaded tots, and sliders were so so good! Our waiter also gave us a free maple glazed donut which was so nice and a sweet treat to take home! After dinner, we played pool and some of the arcade games for the bit which was also super fun. Overall, really fun spot and would definitely recommend for gameday or hanging out with friends! read more

Astro Hall is a dope restaurant attached to Astro fried chicken and donuts, offering a diverse selection of bar food with an impressive taste. The NASA-themed decor creates a unique atmosphere, perfect for sports, entertainment, and games like darts, shuffleboard, and arcade machines. Their signature chicken sandwich is a must-try, available in mild to hot options, although the mild version is still quite spicy. Astro Hall also serves brunch 10am-3pm Sat/Sun, along with their specialty doughnuts and fried chicken. This is definitely a cool spot and hopefully will take over dudley's boring atmosphere! Astro has pool tables! Games for the win and delicious donuts and cookies. I heard of Astro Donuts when they started as a truck and in DC, didn't get to try it until it opened it's Vienna location near my old job. The donuts are almost cronut like and i love that about them! They are truly a delicacy, it's super rich, but not overwhelmingly sweet. This location just opened last Tuesday and it was packed!!! Which I was happy to see something new and exciting in this area. It lacks fun for the regulars and people that live around the area. The menu looks great, but the food itself is not quite there yet. The chicken sliders were so bland i had to ask for sauce different sauce to add to it. The Astro sauce was boring... and for almost $15 for mediocre sliders was not pleasant. Hopefully they add their donut chicken sandwich from their other location on here and that it taste quite smililar. Many of my peers have also said the food i was not great. Once they get that down they will wipe Dudley's out the park! As far as drinks go they have happy hour Monday-friday 3-6pm i believe? The happy hour was quite apeasing so run guys! Beer selection is wide and great, for a new spot that just popped up the bar did well. Food was slow, but it's understandable. Cobb salad looked amazing though, bigger than your head and with fresh mozzarella yummm. I'll probably try that next time! I have high hopes that this place will go far and run out the older spots there. They have phase 2 which is their basement coming soon; more bars, pool tables, and games! read more
