Good seating and not too aloud. The chicken curry was exceptional and beef Wellington cooked to perfection. Service was attentive and fast. The re restaurant is spacious and menu had a lot to offer.

Soft shell crab sandwich with ginger beer

Nice spot to spend a beautiful afternoon in Shirlington. I ordered the special - soft shell crab sandwich with side salad. The crab was good size, but not that much meat. I thought the batter overpowered the taste of the actual crab a bit. Would prefer a lighter batter that isn't so salty. Service was excellent. Very friendly staff with great teamwork. Must try the ginger beer.

Dinner at @ in Shirlington, VA. Happy St. Patrick's Day! We checked out a local Irish pub when our friend was in town and got some tasty Irish food! The oysters we got were fresh and the Southern Rolls were crispy and tasty. Our mains were all traditional Irish dishes like Bangers and Mash, Irish Stew and Corned Beef with Cabbage. All were super hearty and tasted amazing! It was my first time trying Irish corned beef and it was fall apart tender and drenched in a flavorful parsley sauce. Service was great as well. Attentive and friendly. Would love to come back to try more Irish fare. Apps: Southern Rolls and Oysters Entrees: Bangers and Mash, Irish Stew and Corned Beef with Cabbage

Nice Irish pub with a good beer selection. I enjoyed the bangers and mash and mushroom soup. The Killkennys cream ale was delicious. My family each had the fish and chips which they enjoyed. The service was friendly and attentive.

An Excellent ,and Beautiful, Irish Pub in Shirlington If you want an Irish pub Experience in the heart of Shirlington, this is it. Our party decided that we wanted to get a good lunch. None of us had tried it but we like the Shirlington area so we picked this restaurant. We parked in the parking garage just walking distance to the south of their corner spot. As soon as you walk in you know you have arrived at a real Irish pub that was transported to the United States. The space has a bar in the middle, seating above, behind and in front of it. There is a bookshelf to one side of the bar, lots of wood and sayings etched into the glass by the bar. The tables seemed a mix of benches on one side and chairs on the other. The waitress was wonderful and funny and knew her business. Our group came to eat AND drink and so we tried many of their various wares on both sides. The place was very clean, not busy and the food came out quickly. We ordered the Shepard's Pie, Steak Sandwich, Bangers and Mash, and Corned beef and cabbage. The portions were large enough that we ate our fill and still had several meals to take home. The prices were very reasonable ($10-25 for main dishes) for the service, quality, portion, taste and atmosphere. It was a wonderful and delicious experience that I would recommend for anyone in the area.

Attended there trivia Tuesdays which starts promptly at 7:15. They go 8 rounds, 10 questions each with a few picture and music trivia thrown throughout. I loved this as it breaks up the monotony . If you go make sure you go with a big group as we a team of two were outranked as these teams consisted of 6 or more people. I enjoyed myself and the commentator has that genuine game show host voice. I ordered the blackened salmon dinner which was very filling and my partner ordered the Beef Wellington. Nothing like a good meal and live entertainment. I enjoyed all the various bar contests they have coming up including a Halloween costume contests. Will def return.

Service here is has been very consistent--whether at the bar or a table there. They have an extensive cocktail menu, with a little of something for everyone. I truly enjoyed Alice Alice--the perfect summer drink! When we came back mid winter the Irishman's martini was the right choice! Looking forward to coming back for some of their events!

Whiskey in the jar

Drinks: I got the whiskey in the jar drink and it was SO sweet, I couldn't finish it. Was there even whiskey in here? Not sure. Rest of the party got some beers - it's nice they had 20 ounce options. Drinks were pretty expensive. They had live music on a Saturday night and it wasn't overly loud and sounded fairly good. The interior was nicely decorated and liked the high ceilings.

The service and the staff are one of the best parts of this pub!! Also - the food is delicious, and labeled for gluten free folk like myself. I had chips and dip and a drink, and my friend got the shepherd's pie - we both downed our food and drink. I'm also super appreciative that the staff hosts a silent book club I am a part of - so I'm sure I'll be frequenting here more often for that, and independently of that too!!

Empanadas and fried green tomatoes

Came here for a quick work happy hour with a few coworkers... it was pretty dead when we got here but ended up getting pretty busy (I think there was a tree lighting or something later that night). Service was quick and attentive and the food was great! Definitely be sure to get the fried green tomatoes and finish it off with the empanadas!

Eventually, we decided to get up and start playing instead. We ended up ordering food directly from the bar and opening a tab, which worked out perfectly fine. Despite that initial hiccup, we had a really great time! The atmosphere was fun, and the variety of games made it a great place to spend an evening. When we made the reservation in advance, we called to ask if happy hour was everywhere or just at the bar; they said everywhere, so we booked a table. Plot twist, it's only at the bar / downstairs :))) We arrived 15 minutes early, so while they got our table ready, we ordered at the bar. 5 stars for the bartender. If I could review her, the host, and the happy hour prices in isolation, I would! They moved us upstairs, we sat down, and immediately saw the menus were different. We asked the gentleman bringing waters about happy hour and he sent the waiter over. The waiter, with about 2% helpfulness, shared that happy hour is only downstairs. I mentioned that we had called in advance to ask. We asked if it would be possible to have that menu or perhaps move. The conversation felt like pulling teeth. He said, with much dismissiveness, it was up to the host downstairs to move and if they had availability and left. (Fair, we move, he doesn't get his tip. An alternative? Give us the happy hour menu, still get your tip. Better yet, just be slightly helpful?) The host downstairs found us a table but shared it was booked at 6:15 so we needed to be in and out. It was no problem because we had arrived before 5 (early, remember?). Although, it took 15 minutes (I timed it!) for anyone to come bring waters or address us as their table. A little hard to operate with urgency when no one takes your order!! I got up, told the host stand, and they sent a server over, and he proceeded to come back all of three times. We also had to flag him down to get our check, while we sat with empty waters that were never once refilled. We had pizza, cod sliders, and half orders of aglio e olio pasta. The cod sliders were more breadding than fish, but the flavor was decent. The pasta was delicious. No five star Italian meal, but it hit the spot and the portion was plentiful. I didn't try the pizza but it was 12 inches, piping hot, and the two eating it couldn't finish it. The food came out quickly and hot. I think we spent under or just about $100 for four folks to have dinner + drinks, so the prices are really solid. Perhaps you get what you pay for though? Both of our male servers seemed annoyed to be dealing with us and mostly unhelpful. Noteworthy mention: there was a female server who was kind enough to bring us a brown paper bag for our to go box. She was running around and her tables seemed well cared for. Disappointed in my experience and the customer service.

I had driven two hours and was hungry, but I was also committed to making good decisions. Or at least mostly good decisions... The hostess offered me a seat at the second-floor bar rather than the quoted 25-30 minute wait. Great! Solo diners love surprise upgrades. Unfortunately, when I got upstairs, the one "available" seat had apparently been claimed by a diaper bag and a giant straw sunhat belonging to the woman sitting next to it holding a too-little-to-walk baby sitting at the bar. Uhhh...this isn't going to work. Back downstairs I went. I gave them my name and number, found a shady spot outside, and settled in for what I assumed would be a long wait. Five minutes later, my table was ready. Thank you, Universe! My server greeted me with water immediately, explained the QR code menu situation, and told me not to order through the app because she'd be right back. No worries, friend. I'd already done my homework. I knew exactly what I wanted. One Martha Stewart's Prison Pizza ($22), please. (Sausage, broccoli, ricotta, Calabrian chili peppers, lemon oil, and sea salt.) I asked for the chili peppers on the side because I know myself. I like adventure. I don't enjoy possibly setting my mouth on fire. And a Diet Pepsi ($3.50), because balance. While I waited, I people-watched, which is one of my favorite hobbies. White Rabbit was PACKED. The patio was full. The downstairs bar was full. Upstairs was full. Couples, groups of girlfriends, older folks, younger folks, families, solo diners...everyone seemed happy to be there. The place itself is pretty small, which explains the wait. Six tables downstairs, maybe eight bar seats, more seating upstairs, and a constant dance of servers carrying food through the same front door customers use. Add the "please wait to be seated" crowd gathering in the narrow hallway and I'd describe things as organized chaos. But once I was seated, I was perfectly comfortable and out of the traffic pattern. One cool touch I noticed: outlets and USB ports built right into the front of the bar. Maybe that's common and I've somehow missed it all these years, but I thought it was pretty neat. Then my pizza arrived. Oh good lawd. OH. GOOD. LAWD. This pizza was SO GOOD! I knew from the first bite that I was in trouble. There was no sauce, which surprised me at first, but after approximately three seconds I no longer cared. The sausage was plentiful. The broccoli added texture. The ricotta was creamy and rich. And that lemon oil?! That lemon oil set it off! Everything just worked together perfectly. The Calabrian peppers arrived on the side exactly as requested. I bravely sampled a very small amount on my fork before desecrating my pizza and quickly determined that folks with stronger heat tolerance than me will absolutely love them. They were just a little too spicy for my delicate tastebuds. Thankfully, the pizza was incredible without them. And those slices? MONSTERS. I ate one and seriously contemplated a second before reminding myself that I had dessert plans elsewhere. A box was requested. Self-control was exercised. Barely. As a solo diner, I also want to give White Rabbit extra points. Multiple staff members checked on me throughout the meal. I never felt forgotten, rushed, or weird sitting by myself. Everyone was warm, kind, and made me feel completely comfortable. I really appreciated that. My total bill came to $32.44 including tip which felt really reasonable given the amount of pizza I consumed and brought home. Worth every penny. I'm already scheming my next two-hour drive back. Maybe a smashburger. Maybe those Brussels sprouts everyone keeps raving about. Maybe another pizza. Maybe all of it! I highly recommend checking out White Rabbit. Make it a destination, not just a stop while you're in the area. Don't let the size of the place or the wait scare you off. It's totally worth it. PRO TIP: If you park in the Church Street Parking Garage, look for the staircase labeled "STAIR 3." White Rabbit is literally right outside the door at the bottom. No hide-and-seek required!

The inside was packed. The pizza could have been hotter. It felt like it may have been sitting for a few minutes before being brought to the table, as we were able to eat it right away without having to let it cool down. The chicken Caesar cutlet, however, was amazing! I would skip the pesto on the fries next time, as I didn't realize they came with it. Overall, we had a good experience and will definitely be back!
