Coconut cake & mocha latte

I have been going here off and on since it opened. I love the concept of it having games and things to do on several floors. The food is very good, and the menu has enough variety to keep me coming back. I love that they offer tasty mocktails. There is free karaoke at the ground floor bar every Friday from 9pm -12am. The groups that come through can be pretty interesting. You can belt out some songs while enjoying some good food and drinks. I wish they had more high top tables on the ground floor and less of a nightclub lounge look so that you can have a better view of the singers. You can play giant Jenga, foosball, ping pong, do bowling, do private room karaoke, play arcade games, and other games on any level. The bartenders are pretty good on the lower level but the upstairs third floor has cycled through some weird bartenders who didn't know how to make some common drinks. They seem to be better now. The security guards are on point and keep everyone safe. The super buff guy is actually really nice and was helpful when a friend lost her purse once. The bathrooms are usually clean. There is an elevator on the ground floor if you need it. There is a second elevator connected to the entire building at the entrance near the Ted's Bulletin inside which will take you to the third floor entrance main bar and bowling lanes area. Must show ID and be age 21+ to enter.

We went here for a division social for my job last week. Overall, the food was good and the server was accommodating, but I gave it a 3 because of how long it took us to get drinks from the bar. There were 16 of us and only 1 server, so we didn't get the drinks until after our food came. Also, we didn't find out until the day before that the entire 3rd floor was reserved for a private party, so we weren't able to play the games up there. We got there around 11:30am on a Thursday, so it was a slow time of day which may have contributed to the limited staff. The ambience was great and it looked like a fun place, so I plan to go back and experience the evening vibes.

The feel is a 1950's diner with Ms. Pacman and lawn games and bowling upstairs. I met a friend to hang out on a Saturday evening. We sat at the bar and ate guac and chips and some other appetizers while drinking Stellas and lager. We played a trivia game and just hung out talking. It is a nice place for that. Not too loud and solid service. At about 9pm karaoke started. It was fun. I sang True Blue, I think the crowd was slightly younger than Madonna songs, but that wouldn't stop me. In all it was a good hangout joint, with a variety of activities for those who don't enjoy sitting still.

I came here to enjoy some nice drinks during happy hour. I had been to a Punch Bowl Social location in Sacramento previously. They had several rooms available with arcade games, bowling, darts, a full bar, and music. I was curious how the Arlington location would be. They have good happy hour specials available from 5-630pm. I was able to find a seat at the bar on the first floor. You can order some food or one of their drink options for $5. I ordered the old fashioned to try. Of course it was not a large amount. Happy hour drinks are half of what a typical drink would cost. They served it in a round glass with one large square ice cube. This of course made it difficult to reach the cherries which were on the bottom. The drinks were not very strong either which was disappointing. I came back on a Friday night to see how everything was going. There were not many options for nightlife in the Arlington area so I wanted to see what it is like. It was only a quarter full with people sitting at the bar. Some people were bowling and playing games but not much else. The DJ was playing good music which was the only highlight. It seemed somewhat dull. I left shortly afterwards. I would not say it is a great place for nightlife as previously advertised.

Food was bad. Service was slow and inattentive (but apologetic at the end). Vibes were weird. Drinks were weak. Gaming and entertainment areas were kind of dirty and grungy. This place is like an upper-scale Dave and Busters with less to do, a weirder crowd, higher prices (on some things) that's mostly designed for adults. Queso: came out cold and congealed. We sent it back. They brought new queso out, not chips. The new queso was warmer but still not hot. Wings: We ordered two orders - buffalo and the chili wings. We asked for the wings well done. They came out undercooked. The buffalo were disgusting. We sent the buffalo back and they just cooked the same ones for longer. You can tell because the color was darker and more burnt when we got them back but they were dry. We'd also bitten off of one and that one was returned to us, too, which seems super unsanitary/not hygienic/not in accordance with food safety standards. We sent them back. Mozzarella sticks: good. Marinara was bland but this isn't the world's most flavorful dish, soooo.... Rosemary fries: a tiny bit of parnesan on fries lmao... not even joking Our server was very apologetic at the end. However, there was a 15 minute period where we couldn't even flag him, and we were forced to send certain things back with the people bringing them out, who we had not interacted with up to this point. I definitely would not recommend this place or return. The food was absolutely atrocious and I didn't come in with high standards. Congealed queso? Are y'all OK?

This is a great place for kids or adults. A lot of games for kids and table games for adults. They also have great food and drink options. Service can be a bit slow because of how this place is. I like the way this place was design and there are a lot of seatings and a bar. Can be a good location for social gathering event with friends or to watch sports. It is located in Ballston and there is a parking garage available next to it.

Came for the Sunday Drag Brunch. 10/10. The food was great! Very filling. The mimosas were $5 each which is a steal. Let's not forget the drag performers! They were absolutely amazing! The show lasted nearly 2 hours! The server was attentive and kept the drinks flowing, she explained the menu and offered a two seater table for me and my guest. Lunch bowl social is a multi-floor arcade that is an adults dream! They offer bowling and arcade games that are sure to be a hit. Ample parking in the attached garage that's super affordable. Highly recommend!

Fun bar to hang out at! Came here to support my friend at Punch Bowl's monthly drunk spelling bee competition. It was super fun to watch and the host did a great job! They also gave out these cute little accessories for everyone. I got the Main Squeeze Punch during HH and it tasted sweet and refreshing. The Rosemary Fries paired nicely with it as well. Loved that it wasn't overly greasy and there was plenty of rosemary/cheese on top. The quantity was very generous even during HH. Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!

QUESADILLAS
Kimberly K.

Honestly, this place was just okay. Visited for a team lunch & wasn't really vibing with many of the menu options, so decided to just go with a quesadilla. The quesadilla was very soggy. The sauce didn't feel like it complimented it well either, would have preferred if there was a salsa or just plain sour cream even. I only ended up eating half of it. There was one special mocktail which I ordered. It was pretty standard, nothing to write home about. We didn't do any of the activities, but those seemed fun and there were many options. The decor was also cute, and the staff was very friendly. Just don't think this was the place for me in terms of food.

I've been to this place a handful of times now. I always have a good time bowling and the drinks are good. We recently went on Father's Day evening. It was slow inside tonight. We have a little wait for the lanes which is no problem. We walked around and played games until it was time to bowl. The bowling area had food all over the place nothing had been cleared tonight. We started bowling and waited for a server but no one came so I asked the people next to us and they said today they had to order at the bar which you usually don't. I saw someone who worked there and asked him about clearing the section and he said we could order with him. He was very nice. Tonight I just had the cheese / mozzarella sticks and the molten lava cake. I don't recommend either and they were not warm when they came out. I suggest just going to play but the drinks are usually good.

Food is 100% better than before, and the service is much better too. Shoutout to Aniyah because she had a big table in the front and has our table on the other side of the restaurant. The manager should do a better job of organizing the sections tbh.

Punch Bowl Social seems like it could be a fun date night or friends night hangout. There are things to do on all 4 floors, including a full restaurant on the 3rd. I came early Saturday evening and there seemed to be more families than anything. The drinks are relatively cheap, and I didn't try anything food-wise.

SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH with tater tots
Tyler M.

I went to Punch Bowl for a Tuesday Trivia night. The vibes in this place are fun and not overwhelming, perfect for a weeknight hang. There's a wide variety of seating options and the lighting/decor gives Punch Bowl a funky feel. I don't expect much from bar food, but I gotta say, this chicken sandwich was pretty good. The batter on the chicken was so crispy and honestly pretty distinctive. I bet the chicken and waffles is good too! I think our server assumed we only wanted drinks, because we had to ask to put in food orders. Still, the waiter was very polite. If you wanna go to a bar and still want to eat dinner, I'd come here. I'd previously came for a work function and the catered food was also better than most bar food I've had before. Tons of tabletop seating for meals as well. Now to try some drinks!

Ask the Community - Punch Bowl Social

Is this location kid-friendly?

Hi yes the few times we have visited we saw families with kids. Very nice place with a bowling alley.

All the reservation slots are full, do they take walk in groups on a Friday night?

Hello, yes we do take walk in groups even if reservations are full. However, depending on group size and capacity there may be a wait. Thanks!

Is there heating in the outdoor seating area or fire places?

At this time we don't have any heaters or fire places on our patio. However, we're always looking for ways to improve the guest experience. Thanks for reaching out.

Will it be too crowded at 8 on a Saturday to actually be fun?

I think with a group of 8 it would be perfect, the outside patio area is nice!

What days/time is happy hour?

Hi Dani! We offer happy hour from 3-6pm on Monday-Friday. Link through to our website to take a peak at our HH Menu! https://www.punchbowlsocial.com/location/arlington

What's the best parking option?

We are connected to the covered mall parking, and are directly inside from that entrance!

Do we need to make reservations or can we just walk in?

Either or! You can stroll in (the place is huge!) or make reservations.

When we made the reservation in advance, we called to ask if happy hour was everywhere or just at the bar; they said everywhere, so we booked a table. Plot twist, it's only at the bar / downstairs :))) We arrived 15 minutes early, so while they got our table ready, we ordered at the bar. 5 stars for the bartender. If I could review her, the host, and the happy hour prices in isolation, I would! They moved us upstairs, we sat down, and immediately saw the menus were different. We asked the gentleman bringing waters about happy hour and he sent the waiter over. The waiter, with about 2% helpfulness, shared that happy hour is only downstairs. I mentioned that we had called in advance to ask. We asked if it would be possible to have that menu or perhaps move. The conversation felt like pulling teeth. He said, with much dismissiveness, it was up to the host downstairs to move and if they had availability and left. (Fair, we move, he doesn't get his tip. An alternative? Give us the happy hour menu, still get your tip. Better yet, just be slightly helpful?) The host downstairs found us a table but shared it was booked at 6:15 so we needed to be in and out. It was no problem because we had arrived before 5 (early, remember?). Although, it took 15 minutes (I timed it!) for anyone to come bring waters or address us as their table. A little hard to operate with urgency when no one takes your order!! I got up, told the host stand, and they sent a server over, and he proceeded to come back all of three times. We also had to flag him down to get our check, while we sat with empty waters that were never once refilled. We had pizza, cod sliders, and half orders of aglio e olio pasta. The cod sliders were more breadding than fish, but the flavor was decent. The pasta was delicious. No five star Italian meal, but it hit the spot and the portion was plentiful. I didn't try the pizza but it was 12 inches, piping hot, and the two eating it couldn't finish it. The food came out quickly and hot. I think we spent under or just about $100 for four folks to have dinner + drinks, so the prices are really solid. Perhaps you get what you pay for though? Both of our male servers seemed annoyed to be dealing with us and mostly unhelpful. Noteworthy mention: there was a female server who was kind enough to bring us a brown paper bag for our to go box. She was running around and her tables seemed well cared for. Disappointed in my experience and the customer service.

A very nice touch to add a stem of Rose for the women. I would say that I gave it a lower star rating not because the food was bad. It was actually delicious, but probably the experience itself. The restaurant felt chaotic, and even though all the tables were not completely packed of course there were flowers everywhere people gathering with grandmother's mother's children, etc We were seated in a two people table and all the top past dishes started to pile up very quickly. Instead of monitoring, the progress of the finished dishes and removing those dishes due to space constraint, the dishes came from the kitchen, almost on top of one another, and at one point I had to hold a dish in my hand in order to make space to put a dish on top of another flatbread pan/dish, making things super chaotic. Also dishes had to be put on top of the menu because in order to order additional food, you need to leave at least one copy of the menu at the table. Overall, again the flavors and taste were good, though I might have had similar dishes from other places, and my partner commented that some of it is actually very close to the Capital One landing at DCA. I would just say that it was more due to the chaos and just the way that all the dishes piled up on top of us we felt like we were we had to eat super quickly so that we could stack dishes ourselves and create room at the table. Also, when serving the dishes were not kept level and basically was slide to the side of the dish, making presentation off
