This winery is simply lovely. The best part is that it's only a half hour away from home! Last year, their whites were stronger than the reds (in my opinion). This year, the reds seem to be stronger. Regardless, all of the wines are good! I enjoyed both the red and white flights. I love that they allow outside food, and you can order in from surrounding restaurants. Very nice spot with friendly service to have small and large gatherings for those who partake in wine drinking. Let me first add the context that I don't really identify as a wine drinker, but will still occasionally visit vineyards because I think the experience is nice. 61 vineyard was a cool spot for sure. They have a nice open location with tons of space (I think they said around 40 acres) and they've been expanding their main location for the four years that they've been open. They have a main tasting room, an expansion seating room, and an outdoor patio area that are all well maintained and great for parties of all sizes. I partook in the wine tasting which was very good and the staff was very friendly and easy to talk to (which I find often makes or breaks wine tasting experiences) The wine itself does seem on the pricier end for what I'm used to where I think the average bottle here goes for over $20. But there are also member and subscription types of services to take advantage of discounts. I'm not entirely sure if they have relationships with food vendors, but they didn't have many food option in the main location itself when we were there. The food options that I saw were prepackaged charcuterie packs, so I would keep that in mind for your visit. All in all a very nice winery spot and would recommend even if wine isn't typically your drink of choice. read more

Overall: super cute and clean winery, yummy wines, cute and casual ambiance, kind and energetic service, with single stall not gendered restrooms This area was so cute. They have a great view, string lights, indoor and outdoor seating, and a brewery close by. They have been around 4 years and are slowly revamping an old dairy farm into this winery. I loved that you could build your own flight. I enjoyed my tasting. I loved that she let us try everything, even though the tasting was set for 5 wines. I'm not sure how tastings would work when they are more busy. We went at opening on a Friday, so we could sit at the bar and hear about all the wines. And yes, they do offer charcuterie boards and other snacks...or you can bring your own! I highly recommend their sparkling dry town. We love the rose' version but both versions are fabulous. What a great accident to stumble upon 61 Vineyard! The owners built a nice tasting room with about 10 stools to go around the bar. There are additional tables inside the tasting room along with other tables that are located inside the newly built addition. There is a covered patio that overlooks Stone Silo Brewery, Sugarloaf Mountains, and their vineyard. I'm not a wine connoisseur by any means. I enjoy dryer reds and non-buttery whites. They had exactly just that and my taste buds enjoyed every sip. After a tasting their reds and my wife doing a tasting over reds & whites, we instantly found our favorite winery in the area and glad that it's only 25 minutes down the road. The staff was absolutely amazing, going into great detail of all the wines, explaining their process, and answering every question that we had. They even treated us to a couple of other wines not on the list and their sangria, which by the way was amazing! Remember I mentioned Stone Silo Brewery before? Well, they share a property line with 61 Vineyard. You can't take wine there or bring beer here, but what they do have are picnic tables outside on the property line so that you can do a little bit of both! After a couple of hours at the vineyard, we've become members and are looking to go back. read more

Came to 61 Vineyard on a sunny Sunday evening. The vineyard is quite easy to get to and is located conveniently next to a brewery. The scenery is beautiful and I'm so glad something like this has finally opened in Damascus. They offer wine flights with the option of 3 tastings or 5 tastings. I like that there are many seating options with the inside being air conditioned, the back patio shaded with fans, and the front patio with a beautiful view and ample sun. Despite the Sunday crowd, the bartender greeted and served us immediately. She even gave us a tiny taste of the wines when we were trying to choose our flight. They have cheese boards for purchase and we got a lemon cake on the house (from the Buzz, eat local!). This place is a great hangout spot with delicious wines and snacks! They also host trivia's, live music, and even yoga. I will definitely be back! read more

Probably one of the best red wines in Maryland. The whites are not bad either, that Albariño is a superb fruit forward. The cab-franc, merlot and blend (almost meritage) are great. Great family business that knows about wine. read more

My friends and I love coming to 61 Vineyard--we love the 2022 Merlot. This vineyard has friendly and knowledgeable staff, quick service, and is dog--and child-friendly! The inside area has a few tables, but we usually sit on the back patio, which has more room and tables for larger parties. The patio is insulated and covered, but it does get chilly during the winter. It would be great if they could add some heaters! read more

We had the Cabernet Franc. It was quite good though a little more expensive than our regular vineyard. The venue has some nice spaces to sit. When the music started playing the evening took a turn for the worse. The music was way too loud, so we moved out to the firepit. It turns out they charge $25 to start a fire and $10 to add more wood. That seems excessive, especially considering we had already spent over $150 on the wine. read more

What a find! I can't take the credit - my local friends found this place, right near where my parents live and where we grew up. The wine is worth tasting, and the tasting room is cozy and big enough to seat 8 of us comfortably without taking over the place. They had a food truck in attendance outside, and charcuterie available inside. The venue has a ton of potential in a large outdoor space, and the owners have plans to make it even more terrific when warm weather comes back. Bottom line - go! try! read more

Jennifer served our $20 wine tastings and was very friendly. The place is kid and dog (family) friendly. Wines tasked great. Jennifer sweetly offered some chips for free to my nieces after asking their mom if it was OK. They have sheltered seating outside, a couple of picnic tables out from under a roof with sun umbrellas. After being open for almost a year, we finally made time to stop by and check out 61 vineyards. Right in Damascus, off of 80, with gorgeous views including a beautiful field of sunflowers during this time of year. We walked up, I was mesmerized by the view and adorable setup, which included plenty of seating. The tasting room was also beautiful, with gorgeous wood panel ceilings. They had a few seating options inside as well for thise with indoor preference. We were greeted by Christy, who is the daughter of the owners. She gave us some great history behind the winery and we learned how family oriented it is. We opted for the tasting so that we could get a taste of all their popular wines. My favorites were the chardonnay, which is surprising, because I am not a chardonnay fan. However, it was light and refreshing and not overly dry. I also enjoyed the cab franc, which was a perfect red wine. We even got a taste of their port dessert wine, which I absolutely loved. We ended up purchasing a bottle to take home and enjoy. Although I prefer more aged wines, I think they have some great light options. I gave 5 stars because of the ambiance, gorgeous view, cleanliness, wine options, and great customer service...not to mention how conveniently close they are. read more

The wine was good. The tables outside have cushioned seats. Really nice views. There is a roof over part of the outside seating which provides nice shade. There are not a lot of food options. Essentially a charcuterie board but it was very nice. The wine is dry which we like. You can taste, do a flight of white or a flight of red. You can buy a bottle to open or just a glass. What a fantastic new winery! They opened in the last year. We did a tasting, and got charcuterie and cheese as well. Portions were large on the food and pours on the wine were healthy. Even though the wine tasting included 4 wines, they let us taste an additional 3-each coming with a unique story, shared with us directly by the owner herself.
