Let me set the scene: tucked away in what feels like the middle of nowhere is this beautiful winery with an equally beautiful landscape. The vibes are peaceful, scenic, and honestly the perfect backdrop for a festival day out. They host several festivals throughout the year, and I had the pleasure of attending the Caribbean festival yesterday. Even with the rain and cooler weather, it was STILL a great time. The energy never dropped. Everything was very well organized from parking, to the wine samples, vendors, dance floor, and stage setup. You could tell a lot of planning went into making the experience smooth and enjoyable for guests. The music, food, and overall atmosphere made it easy to forget about the weather completely. I've been coming to Linganore Winecellars for reggae festivals so long, a whole row in my kitchen cabinet is filled with the wine glasses that's included in the ticket price. Why haven't I written a review until now is a mystery but, oh well.. Lol This past Weekend, they did something totally different. They had a tribute to 50 years of "go-go" instead of the aforementioned reggae fest. With that said, Rare Essence performed Saturday and the Junk Yard Band did their thing Sunday. Me and my crew grew up on Essence so Saturday we converged. The forecast for severe afternoon t-storms almost made me stay home, but I've been given a lot of flack from my homies for bailing because of weather so I was determined to push through :) I'm glad that I did. It rained STRONG for about an hour in the middle of the festival, but after that, the headliner performed and cranked like it was 1990! Talk about nostalgia.. Omg!! We had a ball! Full disclosure, it was about half the normal size crowd, so I'm not sure Linganore will take that type of money loss in the future, but thanks for the memories.. If you like a sweeter easy to drink wine, Linganore wines had you covered! I first experienced Linganore Winecellars through a mocktail class for dry January. The host Sydney from The Plot Twist did a great job hosting and the ladies from Linganore were excellent in helping through out the class! There is a small parking lot that for everyday purposes is a perfect size. The bathrooms are well maintained and individual bathrooms. I returned another day to try their wines and was not disappointed! I enjoyed them so much that I took home 3 different bottles which me and my girlfriends all enjoyed. Review for Autumn Reggae Wine & Music Festival. I have attended Wine festivals at Linganore before, but more than 10 years ago. This was our first time attending in a while and our first in the Fall. The tickets have tiers, VIP, Early Bird (enter at 6am), and General Admission (enter at 9am). By the time we decided to attend, which was the month before the festival, only the Early Bird and General Admission were available. The event started at 10am with a DJ, and 2 Reggae bands (one @ 12pm and the other @ 3pm). Attendees with tents on one side and everyone else on the other side. There were many vendors available - I even saw someone doing massages and another doing henna. Tastings to be had; Bottles to buy; Food to eat; Fun everywhere. We had a great time attending and all the employees we came across were so helpful. Parking is very uniform. We will be back to attend another of their festivals as they have different ones throughout the year. read more

Came here with a group of friends for a wine tasting. It was such a nice place! The service from our server Candy was great, she was very friendly and personable. Their outdoor space is huge, lots of seating options. For the wine tasting they have a menu that you will go through from top to bottom. They also had charcuterie available for our table. Ive been to Linganore once or twice before, but this time we went for their reggae festival. It was definitely an experience. During prior visits, we also tried Red Shedman, which offered beer and cider, which my husband and I enjoyed. Linganore wine is not my top favorite as they definitely seem to cater more to sweet wine drinkers. My favorite, however, is Aria, which is what we stuck with that day. The winery is gorgeous and has an amazing view. They have so much land with available parking to accommodate many people. They have plenty of space outside with picnic tables or you can bring your own seating and set up. During the festival, we got there around noon and it was insanely busy! But they still had parking. We walked in, got our glasses and found a spot for all of us to get situated. My friend brought some homemade trini food and it was so good. I wanted to try some beef patties from the vendors that were there, but the lines weren't moving. The wine tasting was very busy, but luckily they had a line just for bottle sales, which was great. We each purchased wine to drink while we were there and enjoyed it with the food and amazing music. Linganore is a great local winery to try, if you're in the area or nearby and the events are definitely worth the experience. read more

I have come here for a wedding but never came here for a wine tasting. So glad that I did! The grounds are so nice and clean. The views are amazing! Great to have a picnic date with a friend or partner. The wine tasting was fun. We could choose a dry wine card or a sweet wine card and you know I went with the sweet. All the wines are good but you could only choose 5 to try from each card. We got to rate them so we knew which bottle we should buy. The apple was my favorite. Great for this fall season. Customer service was phenomenal! Penny is a gem! Super sweet and kind! Super informative when explaining the wines. My friends got some food from here too and they said it was good! This beautiful winery was well worth the 60-minute drive from the Bethesda area! We visited on a weekday, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxed. There was plenty of parking right in front of the winery, which made for an easy arrival. The wine tasting at the bar was about $26 for two people and included five wines each. You can choose between a dry or sweet wine list and mark your favorites. The staff member who guided our tasting was not only sweet and welcoming, but also very knowledgeable--we truly enjoyed both the wine and the learning experience. By the end of our sampling, we had discovered several wines we loved and picked up a few bottles to take home. Our ultimate favorite was Indulgence. While the winery doesn't have a restaurant on-site, they do host food trucks on weekends and during special events, and they also allow guests to bring their own food--which is a great option. Local Maryland winery approximately 45 min from Baltimore city. All the wine is made on site. They even have a beer brewery and tap room. They had a food truck with Mediterranean cuisine. I had the lamb gyro and it was tasty. The space is nice and charming. The layout is open and spacious. Good for a small gathering. I would consider this place kid friendly as there were some kids. There was live music that added a nice touch. They offer tastings. Which is a great way to sample the wines that they sell. I did both the sweet and the reserve tasting menu. Both were good. But I like wine a lot. The lady who did my tasting was very knowledgeable and talked me through the wine notes of every pour. Perfect for a quick day getaway. read more

Linganore was amazing! I've visited multiple times in the past but never for a festival! I attended the Caribbean Festival on Sunday. It was jam packed but still enough room to move around. All of the staff were pleasant, the music was good, and everyone dance and drank the day away! They had food for sale; some reasonably priced while some stands were overpriced. The festival was from 10-6. I arrived at 2 and stayed until the end! We also ended up buying three bottles which were all $17 a piece! I can't wait for the next one. read more

I had such a bad idea of Linganore based on what wines they brought to festivals so when the idea of going to the winery itself came up I wasnt super enthused but I was willing to give it a shot. I am so glad I did because they have such a wide assortment of wine that i would have never known about if it wasnt for going to the winery! I went for a wine in the vines experience where they drive you around the winery so you can taste the wines next to the vines where the grapes were grown and not only did we get to see all the beautiful scenery but we got such a great wine education. Our tour guide was amazing in putting up with the antics of 5 wine drunk ladies while still making sure we didnt miss a moment of the experience. Out of all the wines we tried i only didnt love like two of them which is wild because i dont enjoy anything they bring to wine in the woods typically. read more

The Reggae wine festival was a cute vibe with the band. I enjoyed my time outdoors, but I'm not sure if the entry fee is worth it. GLOWS: -Parking was well organized. I enjoyed the Caribbean wine festival, BUT the only negative I must share is the porter potties(I think that's how you spell them) were disgusting. It would have been great if they were cleaned or "refreshed" halfway through the day, but they were not. The festival was great. Of course because of the rain the night before, the grass was wet and there was mud, but the area was nicely organized, customer service was great, wine was excellent, and the atmosphere was wonderful. I'll join again next year, but I only gave 3 stars instead of 5 because of the restroom situation. Oh lastly, the people at the welcome tent should have showed that the items were for sale when we first walked in. We spent a considerable amount of time looking for those necklaces because no one said anything when we first walked in. That would've been great. read more

This summer, I was invited to a birthday celebration at Linganore Winecellars. I was super excited because I have friends and family that have been here for music and wine festivals. First things first, this winery is FAR from me, an hour and 15 minutes - whew. My friend had a 2-hour reservation for her birthday, we sat outside on the patio, nice scenery. This winery is family and dog friendly - lots of families with dogs and young children were out this day. From the patio as we looked out onto the greenery there were wooden benches available for folks to sit at and three food trucks. You can bring your own food and chairs just no outside alcohol. The tasting was cool, we ordered from the menu with tons of options. Each tasting consisted of three wines. I'm used to having a sommelier available to give details on the wine notes, but this was a self-serve tasting. The wine comes out and you read the notes. All in all, I had a great time but I'm not sure if I'll be back because it's so far (not Linganore's fault) read more

This was such a lovely place to spend a Friday evening. We got there around 4:30 and it wasn't crowded at all. There were many options of cute places to sit and I think we explored most of them throughout the evening. Started on the patio, then inside at the bar, then on the lawn, and then under the string lights on the side patio. There was a diverse selection of wine- everything from super sweet to dry. Our wait staff was very kind and knowledgeable. He taught me a lot of new things about wine. The prices felt reasonable. Our tastings for 8 wines were 17-20 dollars a piece and the bottles expectedly had a large range in prices about $10-80. We got delicious tacos at the food truck and enjoyed live music on the lawn. There was plenty of seating and tons of space for kids and dogs to play. There is even a cute brewery on the same lot, so it would make for a great place for larger groups to hang out even if some prefer beer over wine. read more

We were able to do a walk in on the patio during the weekdays, although they do have reservations you can easily make online if you prefer. The staff is very friendly and informative about the wines and their backgrounds. The grounds are beautiful and spacious, with a lot of tables for seating and open grass to lay out on. I came for the Caribbean Wine and Music Festival on Memorial Day Weekend. From the DC area, it took me over an hour to get there but it was worth it. Vendors: there were a good amount of venders selling food, fans, waist beads, hats, art, etc. 9/10 Wine: there were free wine tastings during the entire event. Once you find a wine you like, you can buy a glass or buy the whole bottle. Wine was very reasonably priced. ~$17 per bottle of wine. 9/10 Music festival: the music was good. There was a dance area and people danced all day! 8/10 Parking: Parking was super organized, they had parking attendants directing me exactly where to park. When the event was over, however, there were no parking attendants. Everyone was dying to leave, so everyone was trying to cut the line. It was chaos. It took me one hour to get out of the parking area. 4/10 Overall: I'll be back for future events. 7.5/10 read more

This event got so popular over the years that it was getting sold out months in advance (mostly Memorial Day Weekend)! I had to start coming earlier and earlier just to secure my spot! I always have a great time. The venue is gorgeous, the place is fully staffed, the bands are great and the vendors are usually good! I like the wine of course and my favorites are Mango Sangria, Steeplechase and Skipjack! If you're seeking a large group event, somewhere to hang out on a beautiful spring day or enjoy a celebration, this is one of the best spots. A friend of mine invited me out. She said, "bring your lawn chairs, games, etc." I thought this was a wine tour place? When I arrived, I immediately saw what she meant. This beautiful open FREE grounds invites the public to kick back and enjoy their open grass knoll and even has a grassy hill area for more pet-friendly interactions. Imagine going to an enclosed dog park but being able to socialize and drink with other humans while your kids play! Its a total win-win all around. The spacious opening has grass, free tables (first come firstserve) and rental gas pits available for those chilly early days or afternoons. They often book various food trucks as the venue itself does not offer food. However, they have various wine and beer selections! Cop a squat in the grass, in the barns, under their tent or just walk-through and make a purchase. Toilets are limited to two indoor and a few porta's but they always keep them stocked. The staff is friendly, the food trucks are great and they offer beer flights to walk back to your "site" for a $5 deposit. This is such a beautiful and open location with plenty of parking (grass or pavement). Grab a friend or, TEN, and your games and lawn games and hang out and enjoy the day! read more

All of the wine is pretty tasty, with Skip Jack being my favorite. I love to go on the tours and check out the vendors they have featured during the festival. The July one is the most lit festival every year. It never fails to be in the 90+ degree weather wise but you'll have the best time. First winery I ever went to and I must say, Linganore did not disappoint. The place has a rustic yet beautiful ambiance with friendly staff. It was nice to see they have solar panels and electric car charging stations. I went on a weekend where they had live music, food trucks, and even a wedding occurring! The pizza food truck I went to was good when paired with wines. They also sell cheeses, meats, crackers, and other wine accompaniments in their main building. I came for a private tasting of their sweet wines. Each tasting allows you to try 8 wines. Although the tasting lasts 45 minutes, it wasn't that busy and we could continue sitting outdoors in the romantic, pretty tasting area.
