Went here to grab a flight of beer since it was across the road from the place we were getting dinner. There were musicians outside when we arrived, but because of the heat we decided to sit inside. We ended up getting a flight of four beers with the Under Pressure-Vienna Lager, Vincent '52 Schwarzbier, Rapture American Blonde Ale, and Fruit in a Pint-Blueberry Lemonade Sour. The lager and schwarzbier were spot on for me flavor wise. Neither was very hoppy and both had robust flavor notes in their respective categories. The Blueberry Lemonade Sour was quite surprising in that you definitely did get the blueberry and lemonade flavors, but it really wasn't for me. The American blonde ale was a pretty standard drinkable beer which was good for a hot summer day. Overall, pretty good beer and I'd be interested in trying more of their varieties after these all seemed to hit the mark.

Great beer, great atmosphere. Not much more you could ask from a brewery. Lots of outside tables to hang out at, and lots of games available to play. One nice thing to set Rockwell apart is that they have some beer cocktails on offer (shandies, etc) for those that may not love beer (e.g., my wife). And I was able to get a beer flight - and all 4 I tried were excellent. Definitely worth a trip!

Visited Frederick, MD this weekend for a quick getaway with some friends and Rockwell was a 2 minute walk from our Airbnb. After dropping our bags off, two of us walked over to the brewery and quickly found a table inside. The scannable barcode on a piece of paper on the table did not bring up a list of Rockwell beers so we were a bit confused about how ordering worked and flagged down a Rockwell employee who was walking by for more clear details. He pointed out the beer list on the wall and told us to put in our orders at the register. Cool. I quickly saw a mixed drink I wanted, that had a sour beer featured. I walked to the register and told the young lady there I wanted the specific drink. "We can't do that because we don't have sour." I was fairly rudely and bluntly told. No apologies or suggestions for similar drink possibilities were forthcoming. I stepped back to peruse the beer list again while my friend ordered. She also did not get friendly service. Not cool. I decided to order a flight since I couldn't get what I wanted. I picked 4, and told the girl my selection, and she took my card to start a tab. Another employee handed me the flight board with my beers. I carried them over to my table and started in on them. I'd say I really liked 2 of them and the other 2 were thumbs down. My friend and I split another beer from a can, can't recall the name of that particular beer but it was pretty good. Tabbing out was fairly easy, despite a crowd having accumulated around happy hour time. Overall, Rockwell is really appealing looking inside, modern-y, yet sometime seemingly rustic. The outside had a ton of tables and chairs, plus a bunch of heaters. Tons of free parking. Beer was 50/50, service...idk. Avoid the young woman who works there, that's all I got.

Big juicy ipa was delicious. Definitely quiet for a Saturday night but a good spot for a beer

Great brewery with outdoor seating + heat lamps, lots of beer options, & friendly staff. We took our pup here after a nice hike and were pleasantly surprised! The location is sort of squat in the middle of a parking lot - while not necessarily scenic, it was quiet and there was plenty of space for social distancing. It was a nice day today but they had heat lamps set up outside so you can definitely go back when it's cold. We ordered from the BBQ food truck, it was actually only ok, wouldn't get that again, but it was nice that there was food. Lots of beer options - IPAs, sours, stouts etc. I got a beer flight - the Kokomo sour tasted like Nerds candy! My favorite was the BIG Juicy IPA, I got some of that to go as well. Staff was very friendly, and there was a nice set up for dogs - w/ water and bowls. Overall, great experience, I'd recommend it and we will be back!

Big picture: I'm quite tickled that Frederick is becoming a hub for craft beer! Rockwell is another good one. The beers I have tried: Bad Leroy - Barrel aged imperial brown Ale. AWESOME brew! Probably my favorite here. At first I thought that it's too bad they don't allow jug takeaway of this one. Then I realized that one glass would be enough. A must try! Rye Stone Cowboy American rye pale ale. Made with citrus and rye. YES, a very light a drinkable beer Revolution ESB - average yes Bitchin' Camaro milk stout. All caps YES! Lord Kitchener English Ale. nope The menu offered some Good Korean wings that are delivered 50 feet across the parking lot from Family meal. I like the atmosphere, and we had great service and conversation from Russell. Since I can walk here from home, I have many reasons to return often.... ,

Rockwell is a great brewery nestled inside of an industrial looking building in Frederick, MD. I happned to visit on a rainy night, but I did see a beautiful outdoor area that I'm sure is tons of fun when its not storming outside. I was greeted (literally right at the door) by a friendly member of staff and from the minute I entered until I left, everyone there was attentive. Theres lots of long tables and a decent size bar for seating. There's a shelf with games such as Jenga and Uno available. Their beer is priced pretty average at $6-7 per pint. My favorite that I tried was their hemp IPA, I highly recommend! I had a great time here and cannot wait to visit again.

Stopped in coming back from Deep Creek. Great ambience with outdoor seating, gas fireplace in corner and both picnic tables and comfy chairs. Service was very personable, friendly and knowledgeable. We had a 4 pack tasting from current menu. Blueberry wheat was more sour than expected. Both stouts were winners and the red stood out for its depth and complexity of flavors. There are games available as well as tasty food. Sloppy Joe sandwich is exactly the way you picture it tasting from memory. Solid comfort food. Right sized portions. Double stack burger is 2 McD's sized patties making it workable for regular appetites (looking at you, ladies!). Fries are separate. Generous portion of lightly Old Bay seasoned steak fries served HOT, HOT, HOT!! 3 sauces: spicy aioli, Boardwalk (old bay/mayo) and thick ranch. All were complementary to the fries and fought over. Deviled eggs come 4 to a serving and have bacon bits on them. What's not to love. Great place for groups as well as casual dates for couples.

Nice selection with flights available. Cool atmosphere. Plenty of outdoor seats with heaters. Nice staff. Must check this place out!

Despite living just around the corner, it took me forever to finally visit here. But, I'm just not that into beer and it may take a bit for me to find something I truly enjoy. But, there was plenty on tap that intrigued me and the bartenders were so helpful, I left happy! Rockwell has a very chill vibe and I look forward to coming back again!

Great brewery with great beer choices and cocktails. You can even order food from Family Meal and play games (cards, UNO, etc) while you drink, eat, and socialize. Can't wait to check it out in the summer when the weather is warmer.

Rockwell offers a good blend of beers for both the enthusiast and moderate beer drinker. As a 'hop head' I enjoy their selection of tasty IPAs, of which they do many. A highlight about the brewery is their ongoing experimentation in brewing new beers, and the constant rotation of offerings on tap. The environment is nice too, with a good casual vibe with plenty of seating.

Wanted a flight but the beers I wanted for the flight were from cans so could not be included, opted for the Pilsner, it was ok. The inside was very messy, the board games all messy and the merch rack needed some attention. The indoor seated room smells musky and the setas were all messy even though no one was in there because we were all at the patio. The patio on a nice weather day is perfect, and there was live music as well. A pizza truck outside and a good crowd of people. However, it was a day that needed more than one overwhelmed beertender. The lines at times were out the door. Went in for a second beer but the kolsch cans were not opening, the line became longer as the beertender tried her best to get a few open with no success. Ended up ordering the same beer as there was no other one on the menu that I prefer. Besides her needing some help, it seemed she was not supposed to be there past a certain time and that was reflected while she processed the line. Eventually she got a can opener and I was able to try the kolsch that turned out to be better than the Pilsner as I expected. Overall it was an ok experience at this place. If you are an IPA person, this may be your spot.

We brought a group of approximately 50 guests and spent the entire afternoon and evening there, from 2 p.m. until closing. Given the size of our group, I estimate we spent well over $2,000 on food and drinks. The brewery was relatively quiet when we arrived, and our party filled much of the venue. Unfortunately, we encountered several issues that made what should have been a special celebration feel unwelcome. When we arrived, children were allowed up to a belt divider separating one area of the brewery. Shortly after our group arrived, the divider was removed and we were told that the children--even well-behaved kids around 12 and 13 years old--had to move to a completely different area. This split our group apart despite there being plenty of available space. A couple of hours later, we were told that we could not use our own insulated tumblers to keep our purchased beers cold. This included the birthday guest himself. What made this especially frustrating was that we observed other patrons using tumblers without being asked to stop. The final disappointment came during the birthday celebration. We brought a cake and a sparkler candle. The manager, who I believe was Derrick Erwee, informed us that it was a fire hazard and could not be used. While I understand safety concerns, no alternative was offered, meaning my husband didn't even get the chance to blow out a birthday candle on his 50th birthday. I then asked if our group, including the children, could come together briefly for a photo and to sing Happy Birthday for just a minute or two. The request was denied. This was particularly disappointing given that a storm was happening outside and our group made up a large portion of the customers in the brewery at the time. I spoke directly with the manager to explain how these decisions were affecting our celebration, but he showed little interest in finding a reasonable accommodation or demonstrating basic customer service. I want to be clear that the bartenders were friendly and professional throughout the event. They were not the issue. However, the overall management experience left us feeling unwelcome and disappointed. After investing significant time, money, and effort into planning such an important milestone celebration, I sincerely wish I had chosen another venue. Based on our experience, I would not recommend RAK Brewing for family gatherings, large group events, milestone celebrations, or anyone expecting a customer-focused experience. I am never coming back, nor my 50 guests.
