It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside the atmosphere is lovely, and the menu offers quite a good bit of variety. It was a convenient place for us to meet up since we were coming from different directions. I didn't love my flatbread, but I can't quite put my finger on what was off with the flavor--it might have not been quite what I was expecting, and nothing more than that. I ate breakfast here this morning, met a small group. We were greeted by the hostess, who was also our waitress. There are plenty of options for seating, I believe a large group could be accommodated. Parking is somewhat limited, from what I could tell. There is patio seating, which wasn't available to us today, but we sat in a cozy booth. Our coffees were refilled regularly, and our food was yummy and plentiful. I didn't get pics, but I had the oatmeal topped with fresh fruit. Today's fruit was strawberries and blueberries, and the strawberries were sweet. One friend had scrambled eggs with cheese and a side of fruit in a cup. The other friend had a full plate of eggs, Turkey sausage, toast and potatoes and a side of fruit. Too much for her, she had to get a to-go box. I didn't see the bill, but I'd estimate it at $40 for the three of us. read more

Worst meal and service we've had in long time. Ordered a drink, bartender served my husband and then took the garbage out. Uh....hello. Ordered the special, a chicken barbecue sandwich. Chicken must have been from yesterday if not before, thin, dry chicken breast. Cheese still had paper on it. Had to spit it out. The best thing I ate were my chips and my husband's waffle fries. We had some time to kill today while waiting for something we were helping with in Mt Airy, so we thought we'd just find somewhere to get a piece of cake and coffee. We decided to try this place and when we arrived I was surprised to see the inn was part of a shopping center. No problem, just didn't expect that. Inside was what I had imagined so it turned out fine. We were seated right away in a booth. We ordered and hung out for a bit. We opted to try an appetizer too and loved it. This was definately not what I expected and was surprised to find the location as prt of a strip center. Parking can be a challenge. First, a huge shoutout to our server, Ashley. I do not often mention people by name in reviews, But Ashley was amazing! As is my tradition, when available, I did fish and chips. My dining partner went, shockingly, with the Chicken Pot Pie. Those of you who know my dining partner personally know that Chicken Pot Pie, alternated with Greek food, would be her go-to diet. We started with the Lemon Shrimp. So, there was great service and great food. What more could you ask for? Well, how about a great Ambience to boot? We were able to eat in the upstairs area. We will return to eat in the main dining area or bar. The place has that wonderful mix of old and new. read more

Prices are way too high for the quality and amount of food you get at this restaurant. Last week we tried the meatloaf and it was disgusting. The slice was the size of a small piece of bread, potatoes so so the broccoli was dry with a little seasoning. Garden salad is like a handful of mixed greens from the grocery store and a couple of cherry tomatoes I asked for a hard boiled egg. They charged me $2.99 and it was the size of a quarter. In the past, I've always enjoyed their breakfasts however lately it seems like they're either overcooked or undercooked. read more

Server "Charles"was off to a great start. Sadly he didn't come back to ask about drink refills or any other condiments we would want. In my breakfast platter, I was served hash browns with rotted potatoes. They were black. How could you not see that when you are cutting them? Coffee was very weak and was not drunk. I wanted to like this but the more I looked around the more I saw areas of concern. Trash swept into the floorboard cracks by the wall, bathroom stalls with rusted stalls. I was in Mt Airy for two weeks on a work trip. I came here for lunch on day one, and never bothered going anywhere else. I'm a big fan of breakfast and Mt Airy Inn excels at breakfast. Their breakfast potatoes are to die for! Everything I ate here was wonderful. The service was fast and friendly, and the restaurant itself is very inviting. A friend and I went here last week and ate outside in the tent. It was nice. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful with my allergy. They even had a gluten free menu. I got the salmon meal and it was just okay. The green beans were pretty tasteless as were the potatoes. They could use some seasonings. The service was absolutely amazing but the food was mediocre at best. The oysters were very salty and whoever shucked them did not do a very good job since their was shells in them. This place is great! When we first came to the area (sort of - we are in Cooksville) 2.5 years ago this was one of the first restaurants we went to. We sat outside and had a few quick appetizers and a couple beers and had a great time, albeit our visit was short because we didn't have a lot of time that day. Today we finally came back and sat inside at the bar. Charles was behind the bar and was super friendly. He has the BEST energy and made us feel totally welcome and comfortable. We had breakfast (French toast for my husband and a breakfast burrito for me) and both were amazing as was our coffee, Bloody Mary and mimosa. The place was busy for a random Tuesday morning but Charles was perfect in keeping us happy and chatting with us. The whole restaurant just had a very happy/homey/content vibe. Everything was great - ambiance, food, drinks and definitely Charles. We will be back again soon! read more

We called them from the parking lot to see if they had any seating available on Memorial Day weekend (Saturday). They told us to come in and they had some tables open. Walked in, stood in the line. The hostess helped two couples in front of us and disappeared. Just as the new hostess took her spot a very old lady cut in front of us and "demanded" that the six person table by the hostess stand be given to her. The hostess gave them the table, completely ignored us, and turned to another lady who had just cut in front of us. At that point I wasn't going to allow another person cut in front of us so I stepped up and asked for help. Our server, who clearly was never given a name at birth, nodded at me and walked away. Turns out that was supposed to be my sign to follow her. She barely made eye contact the entire 1.5 hr we were there and only smiled after she handed us the check to sign. She kept ignoring my toddler saying hello, thank you, some water please to her and decided to treat him like a puppy asking us "what does he want to eat". So that's that regarding the service. The food would probably get better once their chef discovers spices, specifically salt. Truly terrible service and terrible food. read more

Rating based on carryout. Very meh. Meats are unseasoned and entrees taste very bland. For a $25+ per head, you're way better off going elsewhere for American fare. I'd give 2 stars if I didn't pay over $100 to feed 3 people with tasteless food (cup soup, salad, 3 entrees - small portions so everyone was hungry later). Food is just very bland - pretty much tastes like nothing. Chicken Oscar and Steak Oscar were tasteless (see picture...). We liked that they have a separate carve out for GF, but the salmon we ordered tasted like it wasn't even seasoned at all. Portions were pretty small. Cream of crab soup was the highlight of my $100+ meal - only because it was "pretty good" and hearty. Cobb Salad was old looking/wilted. First time ordering carryout they didn't take down my order. Hung out there for 30min while they made it. They offered me a free dessert and drink at the bar, but kinda defeats the purpose of ordering ahead. 2nd time they were timely. I've heard good reviews of this restaurant in the past and I had to give it a try myself. I was a bit disappointed in my first visit. The service was poor. In addition to the poor service I got up charged for fries and they came out cold. I was finished with my meal prior to the server coming back to our table. The rockfish sandwich was good, but a bit bland. Finally, they only serve Maryland craft beer. The selection wasn't my cup of tea personally. read more

Take out Friday night: We ordered wings and a Ruben. The wings were super tiny and no meat on them. Low quality . The Ruben was a much cheaper quality meat then we have had here in the past, the sandwich was mostly bread and the portion size for the sweet potato fries was extremely small based on what we've had in the past. Pretty soggy too. I get it everybody's trying to cut food cost and see where they can increase profit but I think you just decreased your profit because people will come Les's frequently read more
