Great location in the heart of Frederick. Came here on a Sunday between lunch/dinner and had no problem getting a table for a large group. Love that it's right on the creek too! Overall, I was pretty underwhelmed. The food was just okay - pretty typical bar food and nothing spectacular. The kitchen was out of a lot of options when we ordered which made the menu more limited. The tap wall is a cool concept and I really did enjoy the huge amount of different drink options they had! Each drink is on a touchscreen and provides a detailed description of the drink/flavor. However, it's pricey. Would pour half a glass and was basically the price for a full beer elsewhere. Service was okay. There are no real servers coming around. I can't believe I've lived in the area as long as I have without trying Frederick Social. We don't have any plans on Christmas Day and Frederick social was open. We arrived around 1 and the server working gave us a tour of the place and thoroughly explained how to use the beer wall and gave us some good suggestions. We ordered some good and grabbed a beer to watch the game. The food was really good, I love the nachos with brisket. The layers are good as well as the toppings. My only recommendation woken be to smoke the brisket on site. You can tell that it isn't. The chicken tacos were very fresh and light. You can taste all of the flavors. They have a wall of 35+ beers, mix drinks, etc. with a ton of variety and local brews. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and are dog friendly. A novel concept to be sure. "Like Fro-Yo for adults" is what the gentleman at the counter said when I walked in. When you want something no pressure, when your not sure you can handle being social, ironically Frederick Social might be the spot for you. I haven't tried the food, I didn't even sit at the bar. But what I needed was a few beers somewhere that wasn't home on a Sunday afternoon, after a week of dealing with people non-stop. What I got was a delightfully peaceful beer drinking experience, with a decent selection, and what works out to be a fair price per pour (assuming you don't pour the $1/oz beer into a pint glass). Experience was new and fun! I've never seen a self pour tap house, let alone with so much variety! There's truly something for everyone whether it be beer, cocktails, wine, or kombucha. They have cute safety checks in place to keep people from going overboard, but other than that, freedom is yours! Food is more unique than your typical bar fare, with bison burgers in a bowl, or kimchi mushroom burritos for example. The pretzel bites were a personal favorite. Wow, what a great great place I was taking star for a walk and happened to run into this cute little place kind of tucked away a little bit. I walked in popped my head in and asked if they were dog friendly and not only are they dog friendly? They have dog treats. The place is so cute. The prices are absolutely amazing. The selection is great. I had the most amazing Bartender I can't remember his name. He also does Hair gorgeous smile, amazing personality just knowledgeable as can be he has blonde hair on the top just super friendly, just great great great service great place sat outside. If you're looking for a place to drink and hangout with friends and play a variety of games this place is pretty cool. I would not suggest eating the nachos or cheese fries. They have some weird cheese sauce on them. Not good at all. The pretzel bites are amazing and the cheese sauce for those are great. That's what they should put on everything. I'll update it once I try more items. Some things I seen served though appear to be microwave items. The service is kinda self serve as you would expect at a bar. read more

We came here w our 2 kids in a day trip and enjoyed ourselves. The food was above average for bar food. I got the grilled cheese w chicken and mushroom. My kids got soft tacos & cheese pizza. The chicken was "very juicy" according to my daughter. My husband got "straight shooter flat bread pizza". We also got tater tots. The ambiance was nice. Good selection and variety of music. I enjoyed eating at a establishment that supports LGBTQ+ and trans rights clearly. Cute photo backdrop. Small area for kids to play. The bathroom even had a changing table and step stool for kids. So as someone w a family, I felt seen. The manager came around and asked how we were doing and offered to show my husband how things worked since we had never been here before. He got two beers from the taps. I'm pregnant so I got a non alcoholic beer. He ordered me a mojito mocktail but we never received it and it was voided off our check. We had a fine time at Frederick Social the other day, but had some issues with service. The concept is great, and the space is big. It does feel a little unfinished, with an industrial ceiling. However, when we got there we couldn't find anyone at the front to help us get beer cards. I had to find two different people before someone helped us. We all weren't a fan of the fact that to check out you had to put your card in a jar to give either a 20% or 25% tip. If we got food it might make sense, but tipping that high for self service beer seems like a lot. There were also notices posted that the food is made to order and can take over 30 minutes. I hope the food is made to order, but many places do that and it doesn't take so long. Maybe we just came on an off night, but it didn't seem that great. read more

We recently held a Celebration of Life event, for my husband, at Frederick Social. Thanks to Mike, Audi and the awesome staff, our Celebration event was flawless. We had a slide show running on the two large screen tv's and we played my husband's favorite playlist over the sound system. Our guests received their drink card upon arriving and were able to pour a beverage from 50 different taps, including cocktails, ciders, wines and beers. Our delicious preselected menu items came out of the kitchen on a timely basis, with the variety of flatbreads being one of big hits. The weather finally cooperated and the roll up garage doors were opened and our guests were able to sit out on the patio. It was an emotional day for my family and we were so pleased with the outcome, due to Mike and Audi's communication, flexibility and attention to detail. Frederick Social is an awesome space and unique concept that we highly recommend for an event or just to stop in and enjoy a beverage and a bite to eat. read more

Staff is very nice.  You walk in and open up a tab, they give you a card and you can use it to purchase yourself wine or beer from the taps machine.  They have about 50 taps!  The food is reasonably priced,  but took a while to come out, about 30 minutes for the eggs and kids Cheeseburger sliders.  They send you a text when your food is ready and you go pick it up.  I like the atmosphere, they open the garage doors when it's nice weather out.  They also have a small kids area.  It's a great place for drinks. read more

Amazing concept in Frederick where you get to pour as much beer as you'd like from over 60 options and get charged accordingly. You use a Frederick social card that compiles the charges and a new glass for each new pour. They also have great happy hour with great food options for $5. We got tacos and street corn dip and it was delicious. We discovered the dragon mule cocktail on tap there and loved it. There's plenty of drink and food options for everyone with different health concerns. Can't wait to go back! bluf: definitely lives up its name of being a great place for social gatherings. has elevated bar-type food for menu, very inclusive, pour-your-own tap rotations, sports, and even a kids area for little ones to play while adults do their thing. The service was great - very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. They're located in a great spot in downtown Frederick, right by the river walk. Their venue is awesome too with lots of indoor seating and great spots to view popular sports games. Food was good. I got the flatbread (admittedly on accident) and it was okay. The tots were crispy and had good flavor. They had a great selection on rotation for drinks too including some non-alcoholic options. A brief learning process is required when you first come here. Simply put: you find an employee, connect your credit card with one of their access cards, and begin helping yourself to the drinks! It's a great concept: especially if you want to sample multiple drinks. Note: after a few drinks, you have to go back to an employee to re-verify your card. This is not up to them, it's a liquor board requirement, just to make sure you are not stinking drunk... haha. You can also order food in a similar process. Everything we have tried has been very delicious!! We had such a nice time for our first visit to Frederick Md. All the staff at the Social were awesome! We had the chicken nuggs, the Cluckin' Old Bay bowl and the pretzel bites and all was delicious. The Bloody Mary and beers were tasty as well. Fun atmosphere. Lots of games and even a small part area for the littles. There is only one register to order food and pick items up from, so might be a bit of a bottleneck if it's a busy time. Fortunately, we were there right when they opened so we were about to snag a table and then place an order. Text alerts for when food was ready to pick up helped to make things efficient. The pour wall was impressive and included a coffee station. We enjoyed the faux "crab" cakes made with hearts of palm. It was nice that the cashier informed us that the burger bowl was not in fact a burger and more like a salad with ground meat and burger toppings. The taste toys were probably air fried or cooked in a convection oven nectar they were not as crispy as we would have liked. This place was bustling on a Wednesday evening. It's bright inside with tons of windows, a mixed indoor outdoor concept right near the canal and there were people of all ages inside. The food was good, nothing special really, but there are a ton of veg options, and the happy hour options are priced very well. The tacos were $5! All the servers we interacted with were friendly. I also have to point out that relative to any other self-pour place I've been to this one was by far the cleanest, had the most abundant quantity and variety of glassware AND every single tap actually worked well, all of which are unfortunately a bit uncommon. read more

The latter would require a drink card so that you can go to their wall of amazing drinks on tap ranging from beers to hard cider and other beverages that you pay for by the ounce. When you want to order your food, go to the window/ station and place your order. They'll ask for your phone number, because that's how they tell you your food is ready. It's awesome. Get your food when it's ready. Grab a drink, refill as you please (provided you don't mind how much you're spending), pick up a game, and relax and enjoy. I love this space - it's open and welcoming. It has plenty of room and feels fresh and clean. Folks of all ages will find something here from the menu, though perhaps every table will want their own order of nachos or other popular appetizer. They are delicious- the nachos! If you want something a little heartier, they definitely have options for you. Consider an artisanal grilled cheese, tacos, brunch waffles, salad, and my favorite Brussel sprouts appetizer. I came here with some friends on a weekend around lunch time and it wasn't too busy. I was able to find outdoor seating quickly. However, it did start to get busy and I realized people were having trouble finding an area to hangout at. There was live music which had a great atmosphere. All drinks were self pour so it made it super easy to help yourself to whatever drink you like. They have beer, wine, cider, and cocktails all on tap. This place is awesome. If you want to drink just about anything alcoholic, they have lots of options for you to come and socialize! Come in, open a tab, and then they give you a key card to unlock any tap that you want. They charge each drink by the ounce, so pour as much as a pint sample just a little bit, which is perfect for an indecisive person like me! On tap: they have mostly beer, and they arrange them from lighter lagers and session ales to darker porters and stouts. They also had a few wines on tap, a few cocktails on tap, and even some kombucha (the one I got when I was there was delicious). As a parent, it can be tricky to patronize places like this but they had a little play corner with toys and games for kids. They also had some games that you can take to your table for the whole family to enjoy! They have some food options to enjoy. They were out of a few menu items when I went, but everything we tried was decent pub fare. The staff was great, the atmosphere jovial, and the drinks plentiful. I'm sure toddler play section was at the top of their business plan. I really enjoyed Frederick Social! It's a fun pour-your-own-drinks business. The vibe is really chill and a place you can go and meet up with friends. They have an ample selection of beers, wine, and cocktails. You can sample just a sip or pour a whole glass (or several) The food isn't like it's about to be Michelin star or anything, but it's decent good bar food. Great place to bring family and pets with indoor and outdoor seating. Dog-friendly patio is what we needed today, since we couldn't check into our Air BnB just yet. Self-serve pours are awesome-you have the ability to try whatever you'd like and are charged by the ounce (depending on what you get, prices vary but are reasonable!) Also, there is wine, mixed drinks, and boozy kombucha on the taps and a bar for additional cocktails! Food was great-husband had the brisket sliders, kiddo had the cheese flatbread pizza, and I had the broccoli/farro/potato bowl with chicken added. It was all wonderful, though there may be a long wait (we waited around 35-40 minutes), but they do put an approx wait time so you know what to expect. We would definitely come back. lady at the front desk was awfully rude. this was my first time here and i will never come back after the rude service i had. i'm over 21 and they wouldn't let me drink after i showed them a government certified proof of ID on my phone and also had photos to show. so beware to bring your physical ID as this business takes apple pay but can't accept mobile forms of ID. I was with a group of al adults in their 30s. the staff was eyeing me suspiciously and giving me nasty looks. no one even came around for any requests for food as initially asked. staff was just hanging out in the back socializing with others. overall, i will never come back here for such rude service and people and to be treated less than here. such a shame because i love visiting local frederick businesses. read more

Writing this review for anyone who does *not* want to spend their Saturday evening drinking alcohol in a daycare. Because this establishment, who serves primarily beer, wine, and cocktails decided to build a children's play area in the back you will find that a large number of parents choose to abuse the child-friendly policy and stay later into evening. You'll find children occupying entire tables and roaming the facility unattended. I do sincerely hope that at least one of their parents is abstaining from drinking so that the entire family makes it home safe and sound. It's a shame because the beer and food was great. Just didn't want to babysit while enjoying. read more
