Jalepeno burger, house made chips, and wings!

Love Brookside! Their bone in wings are THE BEST WINGS in Maryland! And their French fries are awesome too. Todays lunch was fried pickles, jalepeno burger, homemade chips, and wings

We found this little jewel during a poker ride back in August. Of course we only had a beer but kept seeing food coming out of the kitchen that looked amazing, and said we'd come back. Today we decided to take a trip to Frederick and go have lunch. Food did NOT disappoint!!! I got the fried tomatoes with balsamic YUMMY and the Ruben which was VERY good. Hubs got the burgers and he loved it. We will need to come back!!

3.5 stars, but I rounded up to 4 because I'd hate to deter people from visiting a local restaurant when I know they're hurting right now (COVID). Solid bar food and spacious patio to hang out with friends, but not my ideal dive bar. The service was friendly, so no complaints there! I'll go dish by dish. 1) Brisket poutine - I'm not a poutine person but my fiance thought the shoestring fries worked well in it. Everyone at our table seemed satisfied with this item. 2) the nightmare sauce wings - my fiance is a hot sauce fiend so he had to try these. I knew they weren't nearly as spicy as advertised when he asked if I wanted to try them (my spice tolerance isn't anywhere near his level). It was enough spice to keep me from having a second bite because the spice level overpowered the other flavors for me. My fiance liked the flavor but said they could've been spicier. The gloves that came with them were appreciated though since you definitely don't want the sauce getting in your eyes (ouch!). 3) old bay wings - I liked these ones and would get them again! 4) goat cheese burger - this one was a disappointment for me for a couple reasons. I ordered it medium and it arrived well done. I'm not sure why they even bothered asking how we wanted our burgers cooked because my fiance's burger (also ordered medium) was also well done. Just say on the menu that all burgers are well done/don't ask so we know what to expect. It had good flavor, though. Still, not worth $16. I wanted a salad for a side but was told that either fries or chips were my options, period. The truffle fries were good but how many fries can one person eat? We were already getting the poutine. I felt weighed down/a bit sick to my stomach after all of the fries but I was hungry and that's what I was given. Our friends likes their grilled chicken sandwich and BLT wrap. This place just needs to put more thought into how they cook their burgers/what they can reasonably offer with 4 oz patties, and healthier side options even if it means an upcharge. Salads are on the menu so I know there's lettuce in the kitchen.

Wings were amazing. They have multiple flavors and you buy by the piece. Service is as good as food. Lots of regulars but they don't mind you dropping in for food. I brought my 18 year old daughter for wings. Can not wait to take others. Best wings in Frederick

Never knew this place existed until friday and man i am so happy i stopped by! Looking for some wings but something different not your typical local spots. Went on google and saw "maple" flavored wings and HAD to order. We actually stopped in for their friday night wing special (as seen in the picture) all you can eat and a two hour limit. It took a bit due to being short staffed but they made sure we were attended and drinks were refilled. Super friendly staff and friendly customers as well; it was friday night karaoke and the dj made it a blast! My favorites were honey old bay and the maple; no way it's a dry rub tasting just like syrup. 13/10 for flavor

The table had an umbrella, so we were able to enjoy the outdoors without being in the sun. We ordered the Cobb Salad ($20) and Red Rice and Hemp Burger ($15) with a side salad instead of fries (additional $2 for the salad). The Cobb salad was very good. Large portion with big chunks of moist chicken. The salad was fresh and tasty. Italian dressing was good. The "Hemp" Burger was a new one on me, but essentially i understand it is a rice-based burger with Hemp seeds for protein. It comes in a large bun with caramelized onion and bbq sauce. I liked it. It has a mild flavor, the patty is pretty soft and the combination of flavors was very pleasant. The "side" salad was large and very fresh. I enjoyed the vinaigrette very much. Unfortunately, our server went AWOL after dropping off our food. We had a question and he wasn't around. My water glass was empty and no sight. My partner's water glass was empty for a while and - I kept looking around - but no sighting. I finally did something I hate to do, which is to call over another server, but we both were thirsty and needed something to drink. That server was very nice and promptly came over with a water pitcher for us. The bad service really wrecked what was otherwise a good meal in a nice atmosphere. So, here's the thing. I considered giving 3 stars for this review based on the service. (We actually thought the server had quit - it was ridiculous - the place wasn't crowded at all.). But, the other servers in the area were working really hard and one did come over quickly to help out, so I'm going to hope for the best. I do want to send a message in this review to the restaurant that this did leave a bad feeling. I doubt we'll be back. Too bad.

I've been to Brunswick several times in my life and I've always loved the town so I was excited to see someone put a brewery in since the last time I had been there. We stopped in on an early Saturday evening and it was pretty busy because they had live music which was good. We walked right up to the counter and I ordered: - ROYGBIV Power Sour 5/5 - Bar Room Hero Hazy IPA 5/5 We then proceeded to grab a table outside and enjoy our beers while listening to the music and watching all the people enjoy themselves too while we laughed and had good conversation. We hadn't ate much all day so we decided to get something light to eat. My girlfriend walked up to the counter and ordered us a hot dog and Brie with Jam and Pita. The hot dog was decent but the Brie and chips were disgusting to say the least. The price for the Brie was even more disgusting than it tasted for a very small wheel of store bought stale tasting cheese and even staler chips, yikes! I love the building, its history, the whole layout, and vibes of this brewery, but I'd never order food from here again. EVER! Will I come back to have more beers the next time I am in the area, probably but I won't go out of my way, that's for sure.

I ended up biking and there's a bike stand really close by. My friend was craving fish and chips, so we ventured out this way. Because we came on a Thursday they had a deal going where if you ordered a pie, you could get a beer for free. Of course I had to partake, so I ordered the special pie, which was a masala, chicken, curry pie, and it was quite good. A bit small for the price point but with the beer included totally worth it also because their fries are so good. I could demolish over a pound of those fries. They were thick potato and maybe the extra added bonus of having to use a glass ketchup bottle added to it. My friend and I were also taught how to properly hit the ketchup bottle to get the ketchup out by the bartender. You find the 57 on the bottle at an angle and bump you palm there that instead of hitting the bottom and hoping and praying that ketchup comes out. It actually worked or at least it was more efficient than trying to hit the bottom of the bottle upside down. I had never had a hand pumped beer before, but it was quite good. They are a warm beer rotating and it was quite good, it especially paired well with the pie or fish and chips.

My husband is a die-had Arsenal fan and was overjoyed by the chaotic bar scene he encountered as soon as he entered. The City + Arsenal game had the entire bar packed with fans from both sides pulling up random seats wherever there was a free space. We came a bit late into the game but found a seat in a quieter area of the restaurant that still had good television access. With the dreary rain outside, it felt like we had settled right in a proper British pub! Food wise: - For my husband: Wings were generous, grilled, and delicious with interesting flavors - For me: Fish and chips were light, flakey, and came with some of the best house cut fries I've ever had. - For the kiddos: Although they had a kids menu, my daughters decided to split some pancakes (basically crepes with raspberries and cream sauce, scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Portions are more than generous and the managers were bustling around, talking shop, and thanking everyone who walked through their door. We will definitely be back!

My interpretation of the gist of what everyone was complaining about was that they used to come here all the time (as did I years ago, but it's been a year since being here) and they didn't like the new, slimmed down menu... and they definitely hated the prices here now. Our service was ok, nothing special. I feel like the majority of the servers are very young and might not have the training, nor experience to understand what true service is, not just taking orders and bringing food. The menu was nice. We liked their "Everyday is Sunday" section of the menu, so we tried 2 orders (4 persons) of the pork chop tomahawk and 1 order (2 persons) of the Côte de Boeuf. We started with their Scotch Egg - WOW! Really flavorful with a great texture, inside and out. Definitely a very nice way to start. Cocktails and wine were a hit here for sure! Especially Jarad's G&T, which we got a couple of. Main dishes were great! Plenty of food too!! The spices on the crust of the porkchop tomahawk were so tasty and the temperature was spot-on! The steak in the Côte de Boeuf was incredible! Perfectly seasoned and at that absolute perfect temperature too! The carrots that came with this were very nicely done, but the potatoes stole the show! This dish came with OUTSTANDING Fondant potatoes... They had a great, smokey flavor to them, as if they were basted in pork fat. The meat was perfectly textured and flavored. Overall - While this is no longer the Hunter's Head that many came to know, love, and enjoy, I feel they're doing a decent job here. I'll definitely return, as I want to try their fish & chips!
