Enjoyed dinner two nights while in La Jolla. Really fresh tasty dishes in very large portions! Quesadilla, Fried Rice, Pork BBQ and BBBBLT sandwiches were yummy. I ordered BBBBLT both times. Second time I ate half so I could go see sunset. We stayed at Airbnb so I had second half next morning from breakfast. So much bacon! Draft beers good too! Enjoyed being outside with locals bringing their dogs to meet for dinner. My family and I had the great pleasure over the weekend to visit this wonderful establishment. The crew was amazing and the dining experience was just as amazing. Sitting out in the fresh air is always a hit with us. All of it was delicious! We enjoyed the Notorious P.I.G, Short Rib and Caritas tacos, along with the Tommy Want Wingy. AMAZING! Came here on a Friday night with my husband while our daughter had a volleyball tournament up the street at the high school. It was packed when we came in and so I got the food to go thinking I wouldn't be able to find a spot to sit. By the time the food was ready (30 minutes later - no problem they were busy) there were seats available. As opposed to being rude and just sitting there eating I asked the lady would it be okay to sit there and eat it as there are spaces now when I thought there wouldn't be. Very rudely she said "we prefer to not waste to go boxes but ok". I told her we would just leave then. As we did. I'm not going to sit there and be glared at by a nasty waitress. Amazing to pay $50 for a sandwich and 2 tacos with a 20% tip that we graciously gave, to then get shamed for wasting a to go box. The sandwich was blah and tasted wholly of balsamic vinegar, husband's tacos were alright.. but the rude service and all too pervasive snotty attitude of so many people nowadays leaves a lot to be desired. Why can't people just be nice? It's really really disheartening! Needless to say, I won't recommend this place nor will I come back. Very very rude!!! read more

Love this local spot in Windansea! Super fun, chill vibe with outdoor seating (social distancing ), so bring your friends and your pooch. Gotta leave your pooch outside to order tho', so try and get a table first. Great selection of beers on tap from local breweries and great variety of menu items. My favorites are the surf and turf sandwich, quesadilla, and the pork belly tacos! No dress up required here. They have happy hours also during the weekdays 3-6pm, dine-in only! We've been coming here for years. The food is always amazing and I've never got anything I didn't love. I highly recommend the blackened salmon. I want to point something out though that happened on our last visit...which I did NOT appreciate. Since Covid, they have started outside seating taking over several parking spots. There is another restaurant right next door, who don't have the luxury of taking over the parking lot. I went there one night with my husband, mom, and 2 children. We reviewed the menu (on paper) before arriving to determine what everyone wanted. My sons are 11 & 5. They don't have a kids menu on their paper menu, nothing for kids, and their prices are fairly expensive (you don't want to get a 5 year old anything from this menu unless you are willing to spend a lot of money on a meal they will hardly eat) so I told my 5-year old he could get a taco next door ($5). We went inside to order our food, including alcohol drinks for the 3 adults. In total, we spent well over $150 for the 6 drinks and 4 adult meals. We sat at the table outside for a while (getting drinks while we wait) and then I later ordered my little guys $5 taco next door. The taco came so sat with us to eat. No later than 5 minutes go by and the girl working there told us kindly that my 5 year old could not sit there. I was pretty irritated and asked why, I said "you are kidding me, right? He's 5, you have no kids menu on your paper menu that we had access to, we've spent way over $150 on all this and we can't stay?" She felt terrible and said she was really sorry but "THE OWNER OF THE RESTAURANT WATCHES CUSTOMERS ON CAMERA AND CALLED ME TO MAKE HIM LEAVE!" She said she was really sorry but the reason is because they "are responsible if he gets sick" which I know is just a big lie/excuse. The owner of this place seems like a real prick, and I want to know why their restaurant has the right to take over parking spots and the restaurant next door does not? We had to quickly get our food to go and leave. I lost a ton of respect for that place that day. Not on the employees who are working but the jerk owner who sits back at home and spy's on his employees & customers. Again, I'll give credit where earned, the food is amazing but you should really give your customers some grace and chill out. A $5 taco vs. $150, isn't a threat to your business! read more

Love this place! Delicious food in a neighborhood hole-in-the-wall, with the friendliest, fun people you will ever meet in a restaurant. Due to COVID19 all the eating is outside in the parking lot on high tables and bar stool. Totally relaxed. The burgers were some of the best we have ever had. The meat is fresh and delicious and the unique way of preparing the burgers adds to the character of the place. Highly recommended. If we lived here we would be regulars for sure! read more

Upon recommendation from a friend for a "casual but tasty" restaurant, I decided to grab dinner here. It looked like a fusion bbq and burger spot, so my inner foodie was pushing me order bbq, but the salmon looked ridiculously good, and against my gut instinct, I went for the salmon...and boy was I thrilled with my choice. The salmon was so tasty, blackened on the outside with the subtle char, soft and moist on the inside that it literally falls apart with the gentle prodding of my fork. It also comes along with a coconut jalapeno rice, which was so fluffly and flavorful: so much more tastier than regular rice, and pico de gallo. The whole combo reminded me of a deconstructed fish burrito. Heathy and tasty! Can't beat that! Note: parking is a bit of a challenge because it is one-way drive in only and the lot is super narrow, so be careful if you have a big car! read more

Melts in your mouth and so tasty. What a hidden gem for pork sandwich. Since I came here with my friends, got to try a variety of items on the menu. The salmon bowl and fried rice wasn't special and was overpriced for what it is, would not recommend. The quesadilla and wings are on point though! Fantastic burgers and fries. They do a fantastic job with the buns. This is what makes them unique. The buns are soft but they grill and make them nice and crispy on the inside. Don't eat here! At least don't order the pork quesadilla. It was just awful. It arrived cold, and I should have known then to return it. I had them put it back on the griddle and it did warm up. But it still tasted BAD. Meat had No real flavor, was a strange texture and the Gouda cheese was gross. When I told the girl at the register how bad it was, she said "I know. I never recommend the quesadilla." Didn't offer a refund. And it was small and it cost $17. Need I say more? read more

We grabbed dinner here with a couple of friends this past week. Overall ambiance is super casual, bar like setting. The seating is very limited, maybe fitting 20-22 people max. No AC or bathrooms. There is a small parking lot shared by other stores in the complex. There's also street parking. Not the best place to come with a group. It's ideal for 2 people or to-go. Now what saves this place is the food. The favorites for the evening were the lamp lollipops with coconut rice $19 and yuck-mouth burger (garlic patty with garlic spread) with potato wedges $12. Both were well cooked, tasty and came out within a reasonable time. I'd say the prices are on the higher side for the amount of food you get though. If you just want good food, it's worth it to stop by. But this is not the ideal place to hang out with friends given the limited seating area. read more

Soooo good! Went to San Diego as a little side trip for a recent work trip to Brea recently and found this gem on Yelp of course! Not only was the drive over a gorgeous one, but this little place has some of the absolute best food I have had in a very long time! Do yourself a favor, get the yuck mouth burger. The menu will have you believe that it's so garlicky you will be overwhelmed but it turns out that it was so perfect that we ended up going back to the counter and getting ourselves a second one as it was so delicious and perfectly balanced with the sauce, butter and garlic in the patty! Now, my love of the yuck mouth burger does not mean the rest of our order was any less stellar! The lamb lollipops were absolutely tender and seasoned to perfection. Cooked perfectly and the rice with the coconut was fantastic too. We also had to try the beef short rib tacos which were also perfectly seasoned with just a little kick and sooooo flavorful. Same coconut rice on the side and everything is cooked to perfection. As far as atmosphere goes this is a very small place with tall barstools to sit on and long communal style tables which makes it nice for meeting other groups of eaters. It's a social place and the staff is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the food and gives excellent service. All around 5 stars. We will be back! read more

Such a cute little shop with unique items to try! The lady who took our order was so cute and funny, and gave us a breakdown of the items they had. Super friendly locals as well, great place to be:) you'll be sitting on countertops, perhaps with strangers, so be ready to make friends! I got the lamb lollipops and the po' boy sandwich to share, and they were both really tasty! The lamb lollipops comes with 4, but they weren't very big. It's worth trying once but I don't know if I'd get them again. The po'boy sandwich came with large pieces of shrimp and was really tasty ( and messy!) We got the Lamb lollipops which were packed full of flavor and the meat was tender and cooked to perfection. We also tried the Mac and Cheese which was so creamy and delicious.
