Pueblo started lunch service on the weekends and we were so surprised it was not busy when we went this past Saturday. The Pacific Beach area is usually busy, and we were lucky that we didn't have to wait and service was excellent. They even have their own parking lot around back so that makes it less stressful to have a meal at their establishment. I also made a reservation in advance for eight people but it really wasn't necessary when we went. I think it's very different during dinner service so I still highly recommend making a reservation. They brought out chips and salsa immediately as well as water. My husband and I got there a little bit early ahead of our party so we ordered a couple of drinks while everyone else arrived. They have a huge selection of menu items for both brunch and dinner. We had the ceviche, chicharrones and guacamole. I also ordered the Yucatán salad and my husband got the seafood enchiladas. Both were excellent and highly recommend. The ambience and decor are so cute as well. They have a couple Bougainvillea trees by the entrance and beautiful, colorful murals on their building. So definitely a cute place to take pictures. Very much worth the trip if you are looking for something to eat in the area. read more

We went to Pueblo for my good friend's birthday and the service was TERRIBLE. Didn't get one of our appetizers for 35 min. He kept saying "oh the kitchen is still making your corn". It was like canned corn with some cotija. After we ate, we paid our $400+ bill for 5 of us and the server never came back to clear our dishes. We sat and finished our drink and talked for an hour with them in front of us. I finally stacked them to make a point and they still didn't come. We won't be recommending this place. Sad! Btw a clearly paid influencer next to us had the best service. Guess we weren't important enough :( read more

We are visiting from out of town and decided to eat here for our first meal. Outdoor seating was very nice. The staff were friendly. We ordered the stuffed shrimp and daily ceviche for our appetizers, delicious! Best part of the meal. We also ordered the seafood enchiladas and chile relleno Del Mar. These were both described to have shrimp, lobster, and fresh fish. Unfortunately only one of these ingredients was included. Both had only shrimp and IMITATION CRAB. The imitation crab made up the bulk of the filling. Had we known that that was an ingredient, we would've ordered something else. Luckily neither my husband nor I were allergic to it. The setting is nice with a full bar and rooftop patio that seems to be for private parties and a ground level patio for dining with nice plants. Inside has tvs and cool artwork. PUEBLO @ PACIFIC BEACH Parking is street-only and paid, but my friends and I were able to find a spot around 6:30 PM on a Thursday. It was fairly busy, but manageable. I had never been to this spot before, so I was excited to try something new. The restaurant has a modern vibe with nice decorations outside, including a Christmas tree and dimmed lights. It serves more Americanized Mexican cuisine rather than authentic dishes. We were seated inside and given menus along with chips and salsa. The chips were tasty, with a paprika seasoning I enjoyed, but the salsa was very mild and watery. I ordered the beer-battered fish tacos, which cost about $20 for three tacos, $6 each taco. My friend, who has a cilantro allergy, struggled to find something on the menu and ended up having the fish tacos with some modifications. Unfortunately, the tacos themselves were disappointing. They were dry, lacked flavor, and had too many toppings that overpowered the fish. There weren't limes served, and extra sauce came at an additional $1, which felt unusual for a Mexican restaurant. Overall, the food wasn't very fresh or flavorful, and it felt overpriced for what it was. On the positive side, our server was extremely nice and accommodating, even helping adjust my friend's dish and bringing a brownie ice cream cake for her birthday. Cute little Americanized Mexican spot with seafood highlights. My friend and I called in here to order take away on Super Bowl Sunday and drove up to find that the restaurant was nearly empty at 3pm. The waiter that helped me with my order was extremely nice and we only had to wait a little. Their menu was a little confusing as online, it looked as if their take away/delivery options were different than their dine-in menu. The salsa was not a huge portion, but was my favorite thing about our meal. Roasted peppers had a really nice flavor! The guacamole was a much larger portion and was also great. Because we also ordered seafood ceviche (which was halibut), they gave us a ton of fresh chips. The chips weren't very seasoned but felt fresh, so we enjoyed them. The ceviche was pretty good but not super noteworthy. My friend ordered beer battered tacos, which she said were pretty good, and we each had an order of the Tijuana street corn (off the cob) which was yummy. Overall, the food was pretty good, but was definitely expensive for what we got. The inside of the restaurant looked pretty large though, and there seemed to be TVs at the bar playing different sports channels, so I could see this being a really solid option for those wanting to dine in conveniently in the area. read more

This is my niece's favorite spot whenever we're visiting San Diego, and we really enjoyed her pick. Everything we ordered was flavorful and beautifully presented. The tacos were packed, the rice and beans were solid, and the seafood dishes were fresh with just the right amount of spice. The ceviche-style dishes were bright and refreshing, and the cocktails were fun without being overly sweet. There were a couple of minor hiccups with unclean silverware and glasses, but they were quickly replaced with clean ones without any issue. One thing to note: when there are large groups drinking, the volume can get pretty loud, so it's not the quietest spot during peak times. That said, the atmosphere is still lively and fun, the service was attentive, and we would probably go to this place whenever we're in town again. read more

We had a horrible experience here. The hostess was super rude. They sat us on the roof and there is no light, it was completely dark. Their heaters outside do not work. 6 of us had a late lunch 2pm, mid-week in the winter, not a busy time to go to restaurants. Nice parking spot on the side of the building, truly valuable in this busy neighborhood. Service, of course, was very good, since we were the only people in the restaurant. Beautiful restaurant, decor was pleasant and welcoming. Chips and salsa was good, a hot salsa is available upon request for a small fee. We all had a variety of dishes, all were very happy with our food. My friend lives down the street & had been meaning to try this spot out -- we both loved it! The ceviche with shrimp was excellent, perfectly citrusy and the veg served as dippers was fresh and a perfect amount for dipping. Obviously the plating is gorgeous as well! Also, my friend ordered tacos & didn't realize there was beans on them, so she mentioned it to our waiter and they replaced them without beans -- they did not need to do that at all, and it was sooo nice of them. Long story short/overall - it was ok. I picked this place for dinner because the ambiance looked cute and they had good reviews for food. I got the vegan quesadilla and my partner the vegan molcajete. I subbed the vegan cheese with regular cheese and didn't realize a surcharge would be added because I did that - our waitress did not say anything so when I got the check I was a bit surprised...if I would have known, I would have kept the vegan cheese because even though it was a quesadilla, the cheese was no where to be found... The best bites for me was the chips and salsa with the guacamole and pico de gallo from my plate. Quesadilla was nothing to write home about, but wasn't bad either, just ok. I wish the quesadilla was with flour instead of corn tortillas. The molcajete was good - big portion of food and a variety of vegetables and sides were given with it. The margarita was good. My partner was considering getting a fish dish, but someone a few tables away had gotten their food and it had a terrible fishy smell, so they decided to not chance it. I noted on the reservation that I was celebrating an anniversary and the service combined with everything else with the food just felt lackluster. Service was bad - Nothing felt special, our waitress took a really long time to greet us and give us waters/chips. The restaurant for a Saturday night was not filled, but still relatively busy. Great food, service and ambiance! It's not that big inside but the patio was quite spacious for our family of 4 ( we have a dog ). We opted for the 3 chicken soft tacos, with a side of beans and rice. Very delicious, I just wish they offered hot sauce. We also ordered the two item meal , pork tamale and chicken enchilada. Really good Mexican in an area that seems spotty on excellent food. This is in a busy part of San Diego, where you might be going to the beach or shopping for clothes if you have young ladies. This totally hit the spot for great Mexican food in a beautiful setting very new building and I am not a fan of high top tables, but it was fine. I just wanted the classic ground beef tacos and they were delicious everything my kids got was delicious and just as they were craving as well. I visited this restaurant with a friend on a Friday night! They take reservations but it surprisingly wasn't busy. We sat inside and it was very clean, just super loud from the music and crowd chatter. Our waiter was very nice and kept checking on us. We ordered chips and guac, shrimp and carne asada tacos and a margarita. The margarita was really salty and so was the carne asada tacos! The shrimp was good though. This place is also super pricey for what you get. The chips and guac was $12, and for the quality of the tacos, you can definitely get some better food at a local grab and go taco shop. Today, after a great morning at Sea World as a family outing, we were looking for a casual spot nearby to grab some lunch. For context of my review, I recently was diagnosed with PCOS, so changing my diet has been a big priority for me (in addition to taking a break from alcohol). So, I was looking for a place for lunch that offered a light and fresh menu that offered items that were tasty and fit my new dietary needs. Pueblo sincerely checked all of the right boxes! We arrived around noonish and were seated right away. We chose the outdoor patio and were greeted right away from our server, Jesse (Jessie?...sorry, if I'm spelling your name wrong!). His service was helpful, friendly, and fast. He arrived with fresh tortilla chips and a salsa sampler as well as our waters. There seemed to be a lot of variety to the menu overall (which I liked) and I appreciate so much that they offer 'mocktails.' I tried their non-alcoholic mule called the Feisty Mule and it was delicious - definitely something I look forward to ordering again in the future. My husband, who is also taking a break from alcohol, tried their Athletic Light NA beer (which is brewed right here in SD) and he really enjoyed it. What truly drew me to Pueblo today was their take on Baja coastal cuisine. A lot of the menu items are light and made with the freshest ingredients. PCOS and Latin food often don't mix, but Pueblo does a wonderful job of fusing healthy with flavor. The kids shared a kids plate of cheese quesadillas with a side of beans and rice. For us, my husband and I shared an appetizer of their Chef's Choice Ceviche (today it was shrimp). OMG. We both love a good ceviche and this one is a MUST try. The citrus marinade is packed with flavor and just the right amount of citrus. Next, we shared their Molcajete Mar y Tierra which reminded us of something we'd had previously at a restaurant years ago in Ventura. All-in-all, we both really enjoyed everything we had. And as a last added note, I loved the portions of everything as well! Easily shareable and no food gone to waste. If you're still reading, I truly cannot do it justice. Pueblo is just a wonderful spot to check out for yourself if you're in PB. A nice spot for a date night. The food was okay. The ceviche with shrimp was great! Shrimp was incredibly fresh! Would not recommend the fish tacos. The fish was good. Not fishy at all, however the taco itself lacked flavor and the corn tortilla tasted old like it came from the refrigerator. The desert here is excellent. We had fried ice cream and banana flan. I would recommend either of them. Well made, and one could easily be shared with two people. Parking for here is tricky. Which is to be expected in California. They do not have their own onsite parking so your options are street parking or paid parking lot. We went on a Friday so all the street parking was taken, so we did paid parking lot which was $27 for two hours. So just keep that in mind. read more

Visited Pueblo last week, on Thursday evening. Pretty interior and plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated right away. I ordered a margarita, which I really enjoyed. I also ordered a Chili Relleno burrito, which was very delicious. My partner ordered carne asada. I ate couple of his fresh tortilla that came with it - just amazing!
