I had a group birthday celebration here a couple years ago. My friend changed the reservation to the private area of the restaurant! It was the perfect spot for our group! My ordered a spicy pomegranate margarita and I had a mocktail. The drinks were pretty and refreshing! We shared the spicy Korean wings, Cantina buffalo wings, blue fin tuna poke, woodfired garlic shrimp, and crispy cauliflower tempura bites. Everything was pretty tasty! Others chose the classic margherita pizza, white bean hummus, and a double meatball hero sandwich. For dessert, my friend treated me to churro beignets. They were warm and came with a trio of dips- Ghirardelli chocolate, caramel, and sweet cream leche. It was the perfect addition to the birthday cake I had.
This place was alright in my book! It's on a very busy street close to Pacific Beach Pier with a ton of competing businesses nearby. The vibes were nice, and the inside seating was very laid back with couches and a relaxed feel. They also have outdoor patio seating and indoor bar seating in two separate sections of the restaurant. Prices for food and drinks and the quality are decent, but could be better in some areas. The service was okay some of the food took a lot longer than expected and we had a little bit of miscommunication with the happy hour menu. But note it's only during the week NOT on the weekends even if the waiters tell you otherwise lol.
Staff was friendly and helpful. We sat for awhile before our server got to us but he was excellent after that, friendly. Attentive. Quick. He brought water for our doggie, Maverick. To be fair it was during Thursday night during football so it was busy. The vibe was fun and lively with people everywhere. Food was excellent. With started with a giant pretzel and split a pizza, which we took half home with us. Will definitely be back during our trip here.
Walking up to the restaurant, i definitely knew i was in La Jolla. Family friendly, sports bar kind of vibes - but definitely on the 'upperscale' side of things (for my family at least). All of the serving/bartending staff is extremely kind & fast paced. We ordered the soft pretzel, served warm with a cheese fondue & dijon mustard - the fondue was IMMACULATE, texture unmatched and flavor so savory. The pizza itself is something rave about, which is cooked in a fire oven. The presentation in everything is 10/10, we will definitely be back!! Thank you guys for an amazing Thursday evening.
Sports bar with weak ass lemonade 4 sure. Good parking, or you can get unucky...Lolol Burger is very good. Mac & Cheese can use some work. Service excellent. Quick friendly. Price point okay.
Came for a birthday brunch and was pretty impressed! The brunch menu is until 1pm but you can still order the lunch side, which was nice. The inside was spacious and had good natural lighting. I liked that the pizza was made in house with their pizza oven! The scramble was good as well. Overall I'd consider coming again for their brunch. Their parking is free 2 hour validation too if you eat there.

I decided on the slicipoli pizza and a side of fries and overall the food was good . However our service was just okay . I don't know if our waitress was having an off day or what but she kept darting off if we asked for something and didn't ask if we needed anything else . The ambience in this place was nice as well .
Bella at Hideaway in Pacific Beach is hands-down one of the best bartenders I've come across. She's friendly, attentive, and always has a smile on her face that makes the whole place feel more welcoming. Even when the bar is busy, she keeps a positive attitude and makes sure everyone is taken care of. The drinks were made perfectly, service was fast, and her energy really added to the atmosphere. What stood out most was how personable she was, great conversation, great recommendations, and a genuine attitude that made the experience even better. It's employees like Bella who turn a good bar into a place you want to keep coming back to. If you're heading to Hideaway, do yourself a favor and grab a seat at Bella's bar. Outstanding service, great drinks, and an all around fantastic experience.
This use to be the best taco spot for cheap tacos & drinks lol back in the day IYKYK . Their decor was so cute & nostalgic. We came in for breakfast- the Greek yogurt bowl was great w/granola & berries & honey. They have cool kids toys to play with which was awesome. And my niece had the breakfast burrito which she said was super tasty. I'd like to come back & try more on the lunch/dinner menu side. The service was pretty superb, ladies were super attentive & friendly.
We're from Houston and been wandering around San Diego for a week taking in the activities and fortunately on our last day here we found this place. Wish we had found it four days ago best place ever Pizza, Wings,and lobster rolls you name it they have it and it's all delicious. The atmosphere is up and lively and I don't think there is a rule that you can break that would bother them. I love the table next to us, They brought their dog and the dog got served before they did. Another word, pet friendly best find in San Diego. Sidenote, ordered the mac & cheese for my two year-old daughter It was so good everybody ate it. The margarita pizza is to die for but nothing beats the lobster roll.
The Hideaway in Pacific Beach is the perfect San Diego beach vibe you want in SoCal. It's all open air, the staff is amazing, the bar food is elevated and the cocktails are just enough to have a proper cocktail or a great beer or RBV It's absolutely one of our favorites in PB and we go at least once or twice every time we make it to San Diego. The decor is very cool retro. All the old school stuff you enjoyed back in the day you'll find strewn about in every room. There are tons of cool nooks and cranny rooms where you can chill with your crew. You can even grab one with a fire pit which is fun in the always perfect 70's'ish weather. Coming to hideaway during breakfast or happy hour is a treat. I've had their breakfast pizza, burrito, pretzel, subs, a bunch of their sides, it's really good. I think I've gotten their tomato soup 3 times already, and am looking for more! read more
The Hideaway is a large primarily bar/lounge focused restaurant on Mission Boulevard that is located super close to Crystal Pier. It is cute inside and has a cozy bungalow-esque aesthetic. Think a mix of high and low tables, shelves with games, tchotchkes, and books and multiple rooms. A bustling bar scene, tvs galore, and happy customers... what more could you want? They also have a parking lot, but on nice days it will likely be full... the good thing is, if you get a spot in the lot, they'll validate your parking! We came here with another couple early on Saturday night with our early bird (lol) reservation of 5:15. We were seated immediately in a nice & comfortable table/booth. We immediately noticed that the crowd skews young but honestly, that was fine by me, even though most of them would probably consider me an "old." It was packed inside and even this early, the place had a lively and fun atmosphere. Ellie was our lovely and attentive server, and even though she was busy, she did a good job of communicating with our table & she made sure that we were happy with everything!. Thanks, Ellie! The food and drinks were very good! Honestly, the food was way better than I expected based on other reviews I'd read. We had the lobster roll, hideaway burger, all American burger & fried chicken sandwich all with either truffle fries or regular fries. No one opted for a side salad. Oh well. We did start with the tempura cauliflower though, so there's that. Heh. Oh & the drinks! I really enjoyed Hideaway's version of a mai Tai - and they came with a souvenir glass! The drinks are good albeit pricey. So yes, this is a great place for a night out with your friends (or frenemies) because maybe you'll have such a great time here that you just are happy to be alive and in the company of great people. Verdict: the food is tasty and the drinks hit harder than a mantis shrimp & yeah, it's the kind of place that'll set you up for a good time. yes this is a bar but the food is beyond amazing.... i love their pizzas and burgers. there is a host stand outside and they are usually pretty quick about getting you sat down. During the day, it offers a casual, social, and unpretentious environment popular for brunch or drinks after the beach; as the evening progresses, tables move aside and DJ music ramps up the crowd's energy. read more

Went for a late dinner and stuck around for the DJ, HIGHLY recommend to skip the long line and cover later at night. Food was decent, definitely a little overpriced but I really enjoyed the lobster roll! The caesar salad and french fries were just ok, fries were a bit soggy. But we don't really go to Hideaway for the food, we go for the drinks and great music! I had a paloma with dinner which was very good. Around 9/10pm they clear out most of the tables for the dance floor and always have an excellent DJ. The crowd is VERY young, but music is great when you just want a place to go dance! read more

It was a lobster kind of night for our party when we went. We went for my friend's bachelorette weekend and the staff were all so friendly. Our server even gave us free dessert at the end to celebrate, the staff was so sweet! The lobster mac and cheese was everything, as well as the lobster roll. The man feast pizza was so good too, perfect to feed a large group! There was limited parking in their lot, but they do give you 2.5 hours free to park there so we had extra time to eat and chill before leaving! read more

Hideaway at Pacific Beach is a gorgeous spot near the water with an impressive aesthetic--even the bathrooms are beautifully designed. While the Caesar salad was a bit average due to a thin dressing, the truffle fries were excellent, and the bacon egg burrito was a hit. The service truly stood out; our server was wonderful and did a great job answering all our drink questions. It's a fantastic place for a quick bite with a great atmosphere, though I'd definitely explore other menu options next time. read more
We came here for a late weekday lunch. The service was great and very attentive. Everyone should get the pretzel. It is so good. They serve it with hot cheese fondue and a really good mustard. It's delicious I had the kale and rotisserie chicken salad. It was really good and huge. You could definitely split this. We also have one of the chicken sandwiches. We got Mac and cheese, but we weren't fans. They were really nice and took the Mac and cheese off the bill without us even asking. The manager also checked in and asked if we wanted anything else. Validated parking in prime Pacific Beach? Say less. Ok, I'll say a little more since I'm a dedicated Yelper... :P I was impressed by both the spaciousness and relaxed bungalow style of this restaurant, and can see myself enjoying many a leisurely weekend brunch here. Service could be a bit more proactive, which is why "leisurely" is a key word in my previous sentence! Absolutely adored the French White Cheddar Omelet (lightly set French omelet rolled over seared cherry tomatoes with garlic shallot and melted white cheddar) served with arugula fennel salad or grilled buttered house potatoes - I added a side of the latter to avoid having to choose between the two - but my meal just missed perfection as the potatoes were slightly underdone. read more

Hideaway can get too busy for its own good at times. They appear to be trying their best so that is good. I highly recommend sitting at the bar for eats or drinks or eats & drinks. Bar service is forever top notch. Waitress service can have you pulling out your hair. I've only had waitress service once and most def never will again. The food items are always a hit. I've tried many many items on the menu. My latest was the half chicken. It was delicious!!!! I recommend the mash potatoes side w/veggies. I gave the mac n chez side a go but it was a tasteless letdown. The happy hour drink specials are plentiful while very tempting. Atmosphere is lively. Do yourself a favor and chill at the bar. read more

Vibrant restaurant in the heart of Pacific Beach with amazing food and drinks. We had a group of 10 and we got lucky and were sat immediately. The Saturday deals including $12 for a Michelada or margarita in a schooner glass were great! I ordered the large pretzel and a side of fries as well as a cocktail that tastes like an orange creamsicle. Service was great and all the food we had (burgers, pizzas, sandwiches) were enjoyed by everyone! read more

The service was good. There's no rush in here with the laidback San Diego vibe. I had the Chicken Sandwich and my girl had the Lobster roll. The chicken sandwich won! The open air layout was absolutely amazing with the light breeze coming through. Very fun atmosphere. read more
