My friends and I decided to try Duck Dive after it was recommended to us, but unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing from start to finish. Four of us ordered bottomless mimosas, yet we were only brought one bottle to share. On top of that, our server rarely checked on our table and seemed bothered whenever we needed something. The service was unfriendly, and we felt completely unwelcome. The most frustrating part happened after we paid our bill. We spent over $400 on food and drinks and decided to walk around the beach for about 10 minutes. Two people from our group needed to use the restroom, so we went back inside, only to be told by the front staff and security that we couldn't use it because "other customers have vomited before." This explanation made no sense to us, especially considering we had just spent hundreds of dollars there. I started off with the house margarita that was one of the specials. It was good and strong. My friend really wanted to try the spinach and artichoke dip. It was mid, really runny, not cheesy or flavorful. I wouldn't get it again. We both ordered a single carne asada taco. When our food was brought to us, we were given the carne asada taco plate that comes with 3 tacos each. On Tuesday, tacos are $5 each so that's all we wanted. My friend picked out Duck Dive for brunch- it was close to our VRBO and he's a fan of unlimited mimosa brunch. We didn't make a reservation but didn't have to wait long for a nice outside patio table during peak brunch hours to accommodate our party of 8. Seems like this place was always busy even outside of brunch hours. If you opt for unlimited mimosas, you have 2 hours and must order an entree - so you're looking at ~$40ish for a meal before tips. You also must wear a wristband. Pro tip- they do not charge large parties to pay a large group surcharge like some places do around town. #GoodForGroups Our server Lauren was amazing, and it was nice to chat with her especially since she used to live in AZ. She definitely kept an eye on those champs bottles when we needed a refill (PTL, it wasn't the cheap Korbel champagne). We watched our server repeatedly walk past our table, make eye contact, and continue on without stopping. Meanwhile, she spent time at the service well talking and laughing with the bartenders while we remained unattended. It got to the point where we had to ask the host stand who our server was because nobody had come to our table. As a diehard Nebraska fan and alumni, I have to say I was disappointed when visiting Duck Dive during Nebraska men's basketball's greatest season ever. I thought that since this was a "Nebraska" bar that they would show top ranked Nebraska and top ranked Michigan state. They didn't unfortunately, so my husband and I watched the game on my phone. I think that this might just be a Nebraska football bar which I will definitely come back for to enjoy the football games with fellow fans. We got the wings which were really good though and our drinks were good too! They have great happy hour Monday-Friday from 3-6 with deals on drinks and shareables. They also have some great daily specials which I appreciate! I love their Nebraska flags outside (not anywhere else I can think of here in SD that would have any).
