Cody's has a very beautiful view so you should try to get an outdoor seat. The food itself was okay! Nothing to write home about but definitely good. The food is not cheap either. If you are trying to come here for value this is definitely not it. I got the surf and turf Benedict for about 30 bucks and it was a very very small portion size. Cody's Burgers -4/5 - All the elements of a good burger (i simply don't like most burgers since it's just too messy to manage), the fries are double fried so it remains the nice crispiness despite being round wet ingredients Lobster Roll - 5/5- Massive...you have the tail and claws and a 1/2 a loaf of toasted brioche bread...it is honestly worth the cost Steak and Frites -4/5- Cooked well! The green sauce is creamy but I guess if we are doing sauce I prefer chimichurri French Toast -3/5- Everything is fresh on this plate. We've been here for a late brunch a couple times on the weekend and haven't had a wait for a table. Both times we were seated at the same booth. The frose is very good, especially on a warm day. My husband typically gets the lobster roll while I get a benedict. Both entrees are very good and filling. Service has been good as well. The servers are friendly, though there is sometimes a bit of a wait to get drinks and food when they are busy. Overall, a great spot for brunch. A little pricey, but that is expected with the area. I was quickly greeted, as I walked in. We came on a Saturday afternoon and the vibe was very festive. I didn't order much, just a soup which was delicious and a salad. My friend ordered tacos that she enjoyed. I have to say that the seasonal Mistletoe Margarita was very tasty. The first time they made it, it was too limey. Came here on a Saturday and was seated right away. I don't know what happened, but we had difficulty finding the entrance even when the rug stated the restaurant's name. LOL. It's on the second level so take the escalator or stairs to get to the entrance. Anyways, we ordered Crab Cake Benedict, Javi's French Toast, Crab and Corn Chowder. The Crab Cake Benedict was okay. There wasn't much crab flavor, and I wish there was more to this dish. The Javi's French Toast was decent. The bread was soft and tasted like how a regular bread would taste. It can be a bit heavy, so we ended up taking it home. The crab and corn chowder was the most disappointing. I love corn so I can't complain too much but it was also lacking crabs. Disappointed that we barely got any and wish it wouldn't been in larger chunks. Overall, I had better elsewhere but it was honestly just okay. The interior is very nice and relaxing. Cody's is not to be missed! My husband and I had a fantastic breakfast on our last day in La Jolla and we wished we discovered it sooner. The view and the decor are beautiful and our server Trevor and everyone working that morning made us feel really welcomed and cared for. This is our second time coming here because the lobster roll is definitely worth it here compared to many other places we've tried! It's great for the price too. It's about $35 for the lobster roll but it comes as a full meal with the fries and coleslaw. We had the option to get seated inside immediately or outside for a 20min wait which we decided to wait to get outside seating. Unfortunately we sat in the sun which was a bit hot but that's what we picked sorta by choosing outside. We did inside last time at the bar and it felt really cool because the breeze. If you sit outside then try to sit under the umbrella for the shade if possible so you're not burning under the sun. Service is nice and friendly. This second time they did take a bit longer but we did come around their peak hours at 11am so they were a bit busy. Overall I'd recommend this place! This place was somewhat difficult to find. We saw the sign with the name and logo, but the actual entrance was almost a block down. At the entrance, there were stairs that led up to the doors to get into the actual restaurant. There are signs with arrows as you get closer. Come with butter and crushed walnuts on the side which I appreciated. Pretty good, I liked that it was not too sweet, and not dry. Finally, had the crab cakes benedict. There is real crab inside the benedict, along with hollandaise sauce and comes with avocado on top, salad on the side, as well as a side (such as grits). We were only here for the happy hour menu which is limited, and thoroughly enjoyed the crab and artichoke dip with our drinks. Highly recommend the spicy mango margarita - it uses mango puree and is delicious. The service was fantastic and the food and drinks came out pretty quickly, especially for a busy Saturday afternoon. I have been coming here for years and it is still one of my favorite spots because of the tasty food and drinks, the staff, and of course the ambience and views of La Jolla from the deck. I decided to start with a spicy bloody and a cup of chowder because it was a bit chilly near the coast and when you say spicy bloody they mean it and it was great! We ate here for the first time yesterday 6/4/2025. Webumbled upon it while walking along the street. Hungry, we went up the stairs, (there is an escalator as well) and were greeted by a very nice young man. We were not there during peak hours and being midweek and a cloudy day, we got a great seat on the edge and had a fantastic view of the street below and the ocean. The server, Tanner, was friendly and very helpful with the menu choices. I had the lobster roll and hubster had the surf and turf Benedict, both solid choices. Roll was loaded with lobster and the coleslaw was delicious. Fries were great also. The surf and turf Benedict was excellent as well. We went with mimosas, I ordered the crab cake Benedict and it was delicious, I asked for extra hollandaise sauce because it was lacking but they brought it out quickly. I ordered it with the potatoes and they weren't as crispy as I would have liked but they were good. My boyfriend ordered the Cody burger with an egg added to it.
