This place was super cute and had such great reviews, so we had to give it a try and it did not disappoint! Right by the beach with such a beautiful La Jolla vibe. The service was great and surprisingly quick, and the food was pretty good too! Definitely a cute spot to add to the brunch list.
Parking always a challenge here but not impossible. Great food and service. The lobby area is nothing like the outside. Very nice with a beautiful view. I had the omelet with grits and potatoes and my friend loved her fish and chips. Drinks are pretty and strong too. Would go again! All men staff too-interesting ...
We came for a brunch on Thursday. I really enjoyed the outside sitting and the friendly server. Food was delicious and we did not wait long to get it, we took dozens of pictures while we were waiting for Food.

Cody's has a very beautiful view so you should try to get an outdoor seat. The food itself was okay! Nothing to write home about but definitely good. The food is not cheap either. If you are trying to come here for value this is definitely not it. I got the surf and turf Benedict for about 30 bucks and it was a very very small portion size. This place is definitely for the vibes not the food! The service was definitely great. People were super nice and tentative and made sure we were taken care off. I only recommend of you are looking for a nice view and a good chat.
Food was good. French Toast were superb. Beutiful view and most importantly great service. Kainoa and Taylor made our experience here absolutely exceptional.
Great location, great place. Stopped by for brunch, and they had a great food selection without being overwhelmed. Service was nice and the food came out super quickly. Our table was always being taken care of The food was delicious. We had omelets, which were delicious and their pricing is very reasonable. Family suggested this restaurant while we were in town and it did not disappoint. Soon as I saw the blueberry pancakes, I knew that I had to have them. I also went with (crispy) bacon and a side of potatoes that were delicious! The staff were very friendly and attentive. And of course, the views of La Jolla Cove were stunning
Date of Visit: 12.27.2025 Cuisine Type: American/Seafood Vibe: Nautical themed with amazing view over La Jolla Cost: ~$20-$30 depending on what you get This was a nice little discovery recommended by my parents who sometimes walk around La Jolla (very unexpected surprise). This place was ultra busy but we were fortunate to come during an off peak time (wait was still 35 minutes) What We Ordered: Cappuccino - 4/5 - I prefer cold brew but this was as expected milk and chocolatey with the hint of coffee. Cody's Burgers -4/5 - All the elements of a good burger (i simply don't like most burgers since it's just too messy to manage), the fries are double fried so it remains the nice crispiness despite being round wet ingredients Lobster Roll - 5/5- Massive...you have the tail and claws and a 1/2 a loaf of toasted brioche bread...it is honestly worth the cost Steak and Frites -4/5- Cooked well! The green sauce is creamy but I guess if we are doing sauce I prefer chimichurri French Toast -3/5- Everything is fresh on this plate. Not too sweet but I guess the french toast isn't that crispy but also I personally don't really like horchata egg toast Fish n Chips -5/5- The breading is done right...light enough so it creates crisp and not become its own entity when you take a bite. Also their cole slaw doesn't use typical ranch it feels like greek yogurt or something. We've been here for a late brunch a couple times on the weekend and haven't had a wait for a table. Both times we were seated at the same booth. The frose is very good, especially on a warm day. My husband typically gets the lobster roll while I get a benedict. Both entrees are very good and filling. Service has been good as well. The servers are friendly, though there is sometimes a bit of a wait to get drinks and food when they are busy. Overall, a great spot for brunch. A little pricey, but that is expected with the area. Dog friendly as well.

I came recently with my puppy and I was blown away by how helpful they were with getting everything for not only myself but him too. I came right at opening so it was not busy so I got a table right on the outside patio and they brought over a bowl of water for the pup which he needed after running through the park before. I ended up ordering some coffee and my brunch and I also asked if I could get a some things for my pup to have some food as well. They were so amazing and even brought it out in a dog bowl for him and gave it to me first to make sure I could give him the portion I wanted which was just above and beyond what I thought. I normally always bring a little water bowl and stuff for him anywhere we go that is dog friendly. I got my usual which is the traditional eggs benny and I get it with the potatoes and added avocado. I truly love how fresh everything tastes here and it is a quality meal that I think is worth the price of it when going out to eat. I have enjoyed every meal that I have had here and will continue to come back again and again!
A relaxing perch to gaze upon the ocean and have a delicious breakfast. Met some friends here for a Tuesday morning brunch. Waitstaff walked us through the menu.
We've been to Cody's a few times now, and every visit has been consistently delicious. We arrived a bit before lunchtime and were seated right away. The views alone make this place worth visiting - you're literally facing the ocean, with a nice breeze coming through. It's such a relaxing spot to start the day. Our food came out incredibly fast. We ordered the steak and cheese eggs, the chilaquiles, the bacon cheddar omelet, and of course the French toast - everything was so good, but that French toast deserves its own shout-out. Soft, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, but there's 2-hour street parking around the area if you circle a bit. Once you're seated with that ocean view, it's totally worth it. Definitely a must-visit for breakfast or lunch if you're in La Jolla. Great food, great service, and incredible views. read more

YUM went here for brunch as a trio of girls enjoying the day in La Jolla and it was perfect - food was tasty and service was fast. we ate outside and had a beautiful view of the ocean! Came here on a Saturday and was seated right away. I don't know what happened, but we had difficulty finding the entrance even when the rug stated the restaurant's name. LOL. It's on the second level so take the escalator or stairs to get to the entrance. Anyways, we ordered Crab Cake Benedict, Javi's French Toast, Crab and Corn Chowder. The Crab Cake Benedict was okay. There wasn't much crab flavor, and I wish there was more to this dish. The Javi's French Toast was decent. The bread was soft and tasted like how a regular bread would taste. It can be a bit heavy, so we ended up taking it home. The crab and corn chowder was the most disappointing. I love corn so I can't complain too much but it was also lacking crabs. Disappointed that we barely got any and wish it wouldn't been in larger chunks. Overall, I had better elsewhere but it was honestly just okay. The interior is very nice and relaxing. The server was attentive and stopped by often for water refills or additional assistance. Parking on the streets. read more

Cody's is not to be missed! My husband and I had a fantastic breakfast on our last day in La Jolla and we wished we discovered it sooner. The view and the decor are beautiful and our server Trevor and everyone working that morning made us feel really welcomed and cared for. I had the veggie hash with a side of sourdough toast and my husband had the French toast. Both were excellent and the complementary coffee refills were much appreciated. Looks like an awesome spot for happy hour too. Don't sleep on this place! read more
I was quickly greeted, as I walked in. We came on a Saturday afternoon and the vibe was very festive. I didn't order much, just a soup which was delicious and a salad. My friend ordered tacos that she enjoyed. I have to say that the seasonal Mistletoe Margarita was very tasty. The first time they made it, it was too limey. They quickly apologized and remade it so deliciously!! I have come in here in the past, but at the other old location nearby. It's still considered one of my favorite restaurants here in la jolla. One of the best lobster rolls on the west coast. Great breakfast and brunch specials. Modern brunch menu with updated modern breakfast, lunch and brunch fare. Nice upstairs dining room and outdoor patio, a great place to visit while in La Jolla. Family friendly and casual. read more
If you want a glimpse at the coast, this is a nice spot for it. Went with a large group and was seated right away, however there is a wait time about 30min if you wanted seats outside. Our server gave us a warm welcome, very friendly and was attentive to our order. Tried their latte, not as impressed, coffee was drowned out by the oatmilk, lacked a bit of sweetness. Tried some orders of my group: Bouillabaisse and fish was overcooked, blueberry pancake was OK, crab and corn chowder hit the spot, very flavorful. Fish n Chips portion is very generous, love the bonus onion rings served on top of it. Ordered their traditional eggs Benedict and it's 10/10! read more
Loved the food , the staff, and the Holiday decorations! Very festive and fun. The view is the icing on the cake. We were there on a Saturday for lunch . We ordered fish and chips, and eggs Benedict. The fish was not greasy, the batter was crunchy , and not salty. The French fries were delicious. My friend told me she loved her eggs Benedict. The serving was big. The only down side is the difficulty to find a parking spot. Overall- we loved our experience at Cody's! read more

This is our second time coming here because the lobster roll is definitely worth it here compared to many other places we've tried! It's great for the price too. It's about $35 for the lobster roll but it comes as a full meal with the fries and coleslaw. We had the option to get seated inside immediately or outside for a 20min wait which we decided to wait to get outside seating. Unfortunately we sat in the sun which was a bit hot but that's what we picked sorta by choosing outside. We did inside last time at the bar and it felt really cool because the breeze. If you sit outside then try to sit under the umbrella for the shade if possible so you're not burning under the sun. Service is nice and friendly. This second time they did take a bit longer but we did come around their peak hours at 11am so they were a bit busy. Overall I'd recommend this place! We would come back again because as I said, we enjoy the lobster roll from here for the price! Definitely a place to check out read more

I been coming here for a very long time and today the food was cold utensils were dirty wrapped in a clean one the mimosas looked so water down it tasted like pink lemonade the coffee cup it self was smeared from bottom , we love coming here but today was a horrible experience we felt rushed to finish our breakfast. Such a chill vibe with a Beautiful view ! From the moment we walked in to the time we left the service was great There was chill 80s music playing the entire time We had the option of sitting outside or inside The outside seating has heaters and a cool cabana with a view of the water at La Jolla Cove They only serve the Happy Hour menu or atleast today they only served happy hour when I went at 4pm The Rum Punch and Passionfruit Martini were so good ! Food was tasty service was quick and the vibe was a beautiful one Really really great staff I was surprised it was only 3 severs including the bar tender and they were all amazing friendly helpful attentive and personable Will definitely be back !! read more

This place was somewhat difficult to find. We saw the sign with the name and logo, but the actual entrance was almost a block down. At the entrance, there were stairs that led up to the doors to get into the actual restaurant. There are signs with arrows as you get closer. The vibes are nice and overlook La Jolla and maybe a glimpse of the ocean if you peer hard enough. There is mostly outdoor seating. We had the crab and corn chowder, which was not bad though I wish had more crab in the soup. The French toast seems like one of the signature dishes, with colorful strawberries and mint leaves. Come with butter and crushed walnuts on the side which I appreciated. Pretty good, I liked that it was not too sweet, and not dry. Finally, had the crab cakes benedict. There is real crab inside the benedict, along with hollandaise sauce and comes with avocado on top, salad on the side, as well as a side (such as grits). It was just ok for me, it did not taste the most inspiring. Maybe it's becuase of the color, or maybe because the English muffin could have been moister/softer. read more

My friends and I walked in for a late lunch during the week, and Felipe was our bartender. Super attentive and very eager to fill our glasses. My burger was delicious and juicy and massive. I could barely finish it mind you I also had calamari to start. My friend got the eggs Benedict and it was delicious and creamy. Make sure to get the bloody Mary. It will rock your socks off. Even on a cloudy day, Cody's has a certain je ne sais quoi about it that makes you want to keep coming back. read more

The service is always friendly, the food's always good, and the view of the ocean is lovely while dining. Javi's French Toast, the Ceviche, and the Biscuits and Sausage Gravy are my go-to's. 4/5 stars because the food isn't super special, but we've never been disappointed with our meal. A little pricey, but that's the Village of La Jolla for you! read more

They will be at 1025 Prospect St., Suite 210. I'm not sure when, though. Their Facebook site says "see you in the Spring" but no specific date. I walked by the new location today, and it's not ready yet.
Gluten free options?
They have eggs and fruit and breakfast meats. Their menu should go over more options for you.
Can they handle a group of 20?
Yeah, they have a huge patio that has a beautiful overlook of the Cove and a inside too. I would call them first before you go down there just be safe
