This place was super cute and had such great reviews, so we had to give it a try and it did not disappoint! Right by the beach with such a beautiful La Jolla vibe. The service was great and surprisingly quick, and the food was pretty good too! Definitely a cute spot to add to the brunch list.
Parking always a challenge here but not impossible. Great food and service. The lobby area is nothing like the outside. Very nice with a beautiful view. I had the omelet with grits and potatoes and my friend loved her fish and chips. Drinks are pretty and strong too. Would go again! All men staff too-interesting ...
We came for a brunch on Thursday. I really enjoyed the outside sitting and the friendly server. Food was delicious and we did not wait long to get it, we took dozens of pictures while we were waiting for Food.

Cody's has a very beautiful view so you should try to get an outdoor seat. The food itself was okay! Nothing to write home about but definitely good. The food is not cheap either. If you are trying to come here for value this is definitely not it. I got the surf and turf Benedict for about 30 bucks and it was a very very small portion size. This place is definitely for the vibes not the food! The service was definitely great. People were super nice and tentative and made sure we were taken care off. I only recommend of you are looking for a nice view and a good chat.
Food was good. French Toast were superb. Beutiful view and most importantly great service. Kainoa and Taylor made our experience here absolutely exceptional.
Great location, great place. Stopped by for brunch, and they had a great food selection without being overwhelmed. Service was nice and the food came out super quickly. Our table was always being taken care of The food was delicious. We had omelets, which were delicious and their pricing is very reasonable. Their location is perfect for seeing the ocean from afar and we had a great time. If you are in the area, try them out and share your experiences. Happy brunch time! Check the pics!
Family suggested this restaurant while we were in town and it did not disappoint. Soon as I saw the blueberry pancakes, I knew that I had to have them. I also went with (crispy) bacon and a side of potatoes that were delicious! The staff were very friendly and attentive. And of course, the views of La Jolla Cove were stunning
Date of Visit: 12.27.2025 Cuisine Type: American/Seafood Vibe: Nautical themed with amazing view over La Jolla Cost: ~$20-$30 depending on what you get This was a nice little discovery recommended by my parents who sometimes walk around La Jolla (very unexpected surprise). This place was ultra busy but we were fortunate to come during an off peak time (wait was still 35 minutes) What We Ordered: Cappuccino - 4/5 - I prefer cold brew but this was as expected milk and chocolatey with the hint of coffee. Cody's Burgers -4/5 - All the elements of a good burger (i simply don't like most burgers since it's just too messy to manage), the fries are double fried so it remains the nice crispiness despite being round wet ingredients Lobster Roll - 5/5- Massive...you have the tail and claws and a 1/2 a loaf of toasted brioche bread...it is honestly worth the cost Steak and Frites -4/5- Cooked well! The green sauce is creamy but I guess if we are doing sauce I prefer chimichurri French Toast -3/5- Everything is fresh on this plate. Not too sweet but I guess the french toast isn't that crispy but also I personally don't really like horchata egg toast Fish n Chips -5/5- The breading is done right...light enough so it creates crisp and not become its own entity when you take a bite. Also their cole slaw doesn't use typical ranch it feels like greek yogurt or something. I actually really appreciate the nod towards making things actually healthy Atmosphere: Clean, feels relatively private even though we were pretty much next to the main door, open bar concept in the center, and there is a deck further down the restaurant with more open air dining environment Service: Quick and friendly staff Ambiance: Fun, festive with sea decor, and great view of people and the coast Overall Thoughts: Best thing I ate: Lobster Roll Something to improve: Most things are pretty peak already. We've been here for a late brunch a couple times on the weekend and haven't had a wait for a table. Both times we were seated at the same booth. The frose is very good, especially on a warm day. My husband typically gets the lobster roll while I get a benedict. Both entrees are very good and filling. Service has been good as well. The servers are friendly, though there is sometimes a bit of a wait to get drinks and food when they are busy. Overall, a great spot for brunch. A little pricey, but that is expected with the area. Dog friendly as well.
Overall, it was a good experience. The location is beautiful, the views are great, and the service was friendly. I ordered the omelet, and it was a bit underwhelming. I honestly found myself wishing I had ordered something else. Looking around, a lot of the other dishes coming out to nearby tables looked much more appealing. Even though my meal wasn't my favorite, I'd still come back and try something different because the overall atmosphere and experience were enjoyable.
This may be my most reviewed brunch spot in San Diego and I truly tell everyone to go here when they are visiting because the food, service, and views are all 5 star worthy! I came recently with my puppy and I was blown away by how helpful they were with getting everything for not only myself but him too. I came right at opening so it was not busy so I got a table right on the outside patio and they brought over a bowl of water for the pup which he needed after running through the park before. I ended up ordering some coffee and my brunch and I also asked if I could get a some things for my pup to have some food as well. They were so amazing and even brought it out in a dog bowl for him and gave it to me first to make sure I could give him the portion I wanted which was just above and beyond what I thought. I normally always bring a little water bowl and stuff for him anywhere we go that is dog friendly. I got my usual which is the traditional eggs benny and I get it with the potatoes and added avocado. I truly love how fresh everything tastes here and it is a quality meal that I think is worth the price of it when going out to eat. I have enjoyed every meal that I have had here and will continue to come back again and again!
A relaxing perch to gaze upon the ocean and have a delicious breakfast. Met some friends here for a Tuesday morning brunch. Waitstaff walked us through the menu.
A perfect happy hour spot for light eats and great drinks while you soak in the sunset. Cody's is located on the second floor, and is a pretty expansive space with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The decor and ambience is beautiful everywhere you look. We were only here for the happy hour menu which is limited, and thoroughly enjoyed the crab and artichoke dip with our drinks. Highly recommend the spicy mango margarita - it uses mango puree and is delicious. The service was fantastic and the food and drinks came out pretty quickly, especially for a busy Saturday afternoon. Tip: The open outdoor dining space has plenty of heaters but bring a sweater for the chilly after-sunset breeze/temps. Will definitely be back for another sunset happy hour! read more

Cody's in La Jolla is hands-down my favorite brunch spot in San Diego. The mid-century palm springs -inspired decor is absolutely life, an open air patio with ocean breeze creates the perfect vibe. The service is impeccable and the food is somehow even better. The crabcake is the best I've ever had - seriously - and the crabcake Benedict takes it to another level. I had the most bland and low effort food I've ever had on my trip to San Diego. I hope the owner sees all the reviews criticizing the food and does something about it. This was my food before we left just picked at because I couldn't even get it down and the coffee tasted burnt too. This place is sooooo cute! It's a rooftop restaurant with stunning views of the ocean. Was visiting from Long Beach & walked in with no reservations but got seated right away. Great; View and Ambiance was perfect on the Balcony/ Patio of restaurant . Went on a Sunday afternoon, the sun was shining and wind kept the heat from rising. Our Server Gabriel was attentive and enthusiastic. Broke down the menu and answered all questions thoroughly. good/ok : Food was fresh and hot but lacked flavor and wow factor. Comments : I wish the website menu matched the menu at the restaurant. Google menu is up to date but not website. I was going to order the Black Berry Sage Spritzer cause I seen so many photos on the website and google that made it look amazing and they didn't have it available :( read more

Our server was so kind and helpful. He let us know his favorite items. We went with mimosas, I ordered the crab cake Benedict and it was delicious, I asked for extra hollandaise sauce because it was lacking but they brought it out quickly. I ordered it with the potatoes and they weren't as crispy as I would have liked but they were good. My boyfriend ordered the Cody burger with an egg added to it. He enjoyed it but said "the bottom was too soggy" but that is to be expected, in my opinion. Definitely worth a visit! We were able to sit on the rooftop area outside and had a wonderful view of the ocean, even if it was overcast. read more

OMGGGGG!! YES! YES YES! This place is a must!! I'm so happy we tried this Place. We sat outside and the views were everything. I loved the vibes in this place. Our server was even great. To start I ordered an espresso martini, which was top tier. For my entree I got the lobster roll and when I tell you it was HUGEEEE and packed with lobster meat. BEST BRUNCH PLACE! The french toast is to die for. Get it with the berries! My partner and I really loved the crabcakes. These were probably the best crabcakes I ever had and definitely worth sharing with your friends. My partner got a burger and thought it was really good. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Honestly with all the hype this place gets I really expected more. We waited for about 15-20 min for a table which isn't anything. Once we were seated, we ordered the cold brew, the fish tacos, the corn/crab chowder, and the lobster roll. Starting with the service from our waiter: it wasn't that he was outright rude, but he came across as uninterested in us and overall seemed annoyed? Another thing, I'm Mexican, and maybe I should have known better than to order fish tacos at a place called Cody's, but I figured we're by the beach? Those had to be the worst fish tacos I've ever had. Rubios has better tacos. The batter was so greasy and heavy tasting, and it fell right off the fish. Not enough cream either. And sooo expensive! Then the sheer fact they paired it with beans? Never in my life have I had fish tacos with a side of beans. My husband had the lobster roll and he said it fell apart while eating it so he basically had to use a fork to eat it off his plate. Again for the price of everything, not worth it. It was very aesthetically pleasing but other than that, I can definitely see it's not for the locals. read more

Let me first start by saying the ambiance was so aesthetically pleasing. As you walk in, you're welcomed to an open terrace waiting area. They have an indoor seating as well as balcony seating. We got there as soon as they opened so got a front row seat on balcony facing the Beach views. Our server Gabe was amazing and service was excellent! Recommended us some great foods & drinks! Started with an expresso martini & mango margarita. Probably one of the best places I've gotten good & strong drinks. As for food, we started with crab cakes and lobster corn soup. HANDS DOWN THE BEST CRAB CAKES EVER! It was literally perfected. As for the lobster corn soup, it had more of a corn flavor however it was still delicious. Entrees I got the chicken & biscuit. Was not a fan of the biscuit as it had a cheddar base, however the chicken and gravy were delicious! My husband got the crispy chicken sandwich and says it was phenomenal. Chicken was cooked perfectly, not too much batter and juicy. & to finish our sweet tooth craving, we got a half order of French toast & OH MY GOOOOODNES, IT WAS AMAZING! The bread was so soft & lightly battered & the cream was very light, yet flavorful. Overall, definitely a new favorite spot anytime we're back in La Jolla! read more

We got the French toast, steak frites, eggs Benedict, and lobster roll. Portions were huge. Just incredible, highly recommend the French toast! The steak frites were topped with an amazing butter sauce and Lobster roll was nicely dressed. I would definitly come back here next time I'm visiting La Jolla. The outdoor rooftop seating had a good view of the ocean and the service was very attentive. Overall 10/10 experience. read more

What a gem! I came across this place on yelp and boy did it live up to expectations! It was a slightly rainy day when I went so there wasn't much of a wait thankfully! But even if there is, La Jolla cove is right down the street. The view of La Jolla cove while having brunch is absolutely breathtaking! The inside was very cute too. From the moment you are greeted by a friendly smile by the host, the experience at Cody's is nothing shy of amazing. Paolo and Tyler - premier service and so very charming and personable. The food (especially the lobster roll) and the drinks, combined with the view overlooking the LaJolla cove (from a distance) brings me back to dine as often as possible. Kudo's to the entire staff at Cody's and many thanks for a great experience. We can't forget the chef's who are greatly responsible for Cody's success! read more

The view, the service, and the food was amazing. I split the chilaquiles and eggs Benedict with my friend which were amazing. However the pork was a huge slice but I prefer it to be smaller which is just a preference. I also had a cappuccino which was good. I do have to say that this place is very expensive. It makes sense since it is a rooftop place with a view. However, overall great place to get breakfast with friends and it was a lovely dining experience and a great area to go! read more

Ugh I love this atmosphere of this restaurant still and this time I was seated right by the glass wall and the view was beautiful. I was not super impressed by the food this time around. I think maybe I've had my fair share of brunch restaurants and I just don't think the food here is the best. Not saying it's Not yummy but just not spectacular. I ordered the fish and chips and the crab cake benedict this time around. The fish was battered too thick in my opinion, I like a thin crisp coating on my fish. My crab cake benedict was room temp when it got to me which I think took away from its full potential but the crab cake was flavorful. read more
Philip was an amazing server, it was raining so we had to sit at the bar but he made our experience very enjoyable and asked us right away what we would like to drink, I had never tried a Bloody Mary and although my friend was a fan I decided to change it to an espresso martini and it was AMAZING, espresso martinis are very hit or miss and this one was chefs kiss. The atmosphere is very nice here especially on a sunny day with a breeze. The servers were kind and delivered our food about 15 minutes after ordering. Cody's was open early for breakfast on a Thursday, unlike Brockton Villa. It is upstairs off Prospect. They offer inside and outside seating. I had the French toast and really enjoyed it. The Marscapone butter was a key element. The guys enjoyed the Bloody Marys. Service was excellent! I only gave it 4 stars because of the higher prices. Went to try out Cody's and had a good time. Went on a slower day so not too many people were around, but staff was very kind to let us sit by the ledge. It was a quiet morning, overall beautiful interior and fun option for a weekend brunch. My boyfriend and I got pretty simple plates, the blueberry pancakes and the All American Breakfast, and both came out great. I was not as happy with the hot chocolate, as it kept separating but not a big deal. Overall super cute spot and would love to try other dishes next time. read more

We had such a great experience at Cody's! The vibe is super relaxed and welcoming, with a perfect beachy feel that matches La Jolla. The staff was really friendly and attentive. We had ordered a French toast to share and he ended up comping us because he had forgotten to put the order in initially. The food was delicious -- everything tasted fresh and flavorful. We especially loved the crab cakes benedict and lobster roll, and the portions were generous. French toast is a must try! Potatoes were better than grits, but you can get half/half if you're curious. Definitely one of those spots where you can just kick back, enjoy amazing food, and soak in the San Diego atmosphere. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

I stopped by Cody's today and tried their lobster roll with French fries and coleslaw. For $35.50 and with the claim of being one of the top five lobster rolls in California, I was honestly expecting more. The presentation was nice, and the bun looked great visually, but it was just too big and overpowered the lobster. The lobster itself was just okay; unfortunately, a few of the claw pieces were overcooked and tough, which took away from the experience. The coleslaw was fine, but had a taste that made me think it was made with yogurt instead of traditional mayo, not really my preference. Fries were good, but nothing that could save the overall dish. Not a bad meal, but not worth the hype or the price in my opinion. read more

They will be at 1025 Prospect St., Suite 210. I'm not sure when, though. Their Facebook site says "see you in the Spring" but no specific date. I walked by the new location today, and it's not ready yet.
Gluten free options?
They have eggs and fruit and breakfast meats. Their menu should go over more options for you.
Can they handle a group of 20?
Yeah, they have a huge patio that has a beautiful overlook of the Cove and a inside too. I would call them first before you go down there just be safe
