Nighthawk steak quesadilla with an order of fries cold Miller High Lifr

First time here and I must say I was impressed. Ordered the Steak Quesadilla with a side of fries. This was enough for two people. It was as cheesy and was stuffed with plenty of steak served with a custom hot sauce on the side. It was delicious. The fries were hit and crispy. This along side my favorite bottle of beer really hit the spot.

Walked in just after 1p. There was two people at one end of the bar and another several chairs down. The guy sitting alone turned out to be the bartender. I asked what was on tap an he replied they didn't have anything on tap and gestured to the back of the bar. I looked and there's the selection of beers. Which was kind of impressive. I ordered my beer and asked if the kitchen was open. Bartender responded yes and left it at that. Didn't ask of I wanted a menu or even if I knew what I wanted to order. So I sat quietly finishing my beer and left. Don't think I'll be back here again. Nor will I recommend anyone to try this place.

Great place to chill after work with a family. They have arcade games for kids and a good food menu. Newest addition is tacos ,nachos and Mexican food which is tasty . Try the chicken wings. Drinks reasonably priced .

Went into Nighthawk this evening, while Everyone sitting at the bar looked at us as wel walked in including the bartender Mia. As we sat down she glanced over at us and proceeded to drink her drink, with no desire to assist us! I stood and went to the bar and asked do we need to come up here and order? With an attitude she answered ahh yeah it's only me here, I respond by saying well that's why I'm asking, how am I supposed to know you're the only one here!! With all the people sitting at the bar staring at us I turn around and tell her you know what, never mind! One of the customers mumbled something as we are walking out the door!' Service is shitty there, the bar smells of body order and the bartender Mia has an attitude that is just as the bar smells!! How are they still open?

It's always a good time at The Nighthawk. Stopped in the other day, my wife and I played a game of cribbage. The food is always good, the beer is cold and Eddy is a congenial host. Thanks for the hat, brother.

A divey dive bar of epic proportions! Went here with my guy for St. Patrick's Day shenanigans and it did not disappoint! Service was great (those ladies were hustlin''!). Burgers were JUICY and dripping down my arms (yasssss!). I would definitely swing by again.

Chill place to have a cocktail and some food. The menu has something for probably everyone. We had the KungFu Plate. Deep fried Pork Belly with a spicy Asian style sauce. They also have free classic video games to entertain the kids if need be.

A co-worker and I stopped in for lunch ... we wanted a libation and to sample some of the other items on the menu. This time, we tried the gyros sandwich and the hamburger steak plate. The gyros was hearty, tasty and very filling. I thought I'd be hungry when it was delivered because it looked small ... It wasn't. Lots of meat, veggies and tzatziki sauce. Yummy! The hamburger steak plate was interesting ... a mound of rice, a hamburger patty, grilled onions and gravy ... So far, normal. Now, add a cut up hotdog and a container of pickles. Hmmm, what have we here? If I had ordered this, I would have asked for French fries in place of the rice. The real value at Nighthawk are the drinks ... $7 for a Bombay Sapphire gin & tonic or a Jameson on the rocks. The same drinks are twice the price at a nearby bar & grill. We had more than one .... Service is great; the owner is friendly and accommodating. Thank you!

I was craving some tacos this evening and encore saloon was the first place that came to mind but sadly another (Italian/Asian fusion) restaurant/bar took over the space. So we went to nighthawk instead. It's nice to see that they're open until midnight this evening on a weekday. I do enjoy the ambiance-- it may get loud due to the surround sound system but i personally like it and i enjoy singing out loud to the music even though no one could hear me lol. Owner was cool, working the bar as usual. Although, i only came here for one crave which were tacos. I enjoyed the carne asada and carnitas tacos! Kind of wish they were bigger ':D for $3-4 each. The wait time just to order our food was unnecessarily longer than expected. I understand that uncle is working the bar but what happened to "I'll be right back?" Or where are the rest of your staff to help outside of the kitchen? If it's just him, then kudos but there's an opportunity to improve on time management. Waited about 15-20 minutes just to get him to come to the table and memorize what we verbally ordered. As we waited for another 15-20 minutes for the food to come out (it was only 4 small tacos and 1 burrito...), thankfully there was some tv entertainment that distracted us in the meantime. Despite all of the others times that I've visited nighthawk, I've never experienced this kind of service until today. I did not feel as valued as the customers who sat at the high top bar. He catered to them more than the customers who simply just wanted to order food. Even though i did not feel like ordering a drink tonight, I'm a customer too. I'm just here for the food. The tacos were overall simply good. I wish their spicy sauce was a little more spicier but that's ok. The tacos are the average price that you can pay anywhere else for tacos but there's no special wow factor to these ones. Also i don't think if it's just the table or the table material but it felt like our table was not cleaned before getting seated.

Such good food! Reminds me of the mainland. The owner was behind the bar and was so friendly. The Chicago dog is different if you're not used to it, but it was delicious. We also got the wings with chili sauce. The reason why I took a star off is just the price. Everything on the menu is pretty hefty If you're eating with 2, expect to pay $45-$60 minimum. Would recommend though, they have a copy of the nighthawk painting hanging on the wall.

Chicago dog was good for outside of Chicago. If only they steamed the bun. Skip the Italian beef, the au jus was thick and extremely salty. Sandwich wasn't dipped, but gravy poured on top and extra on the side. Just way too salty, couldn't taste the beef. Good service, drink orders taken at the beef and filled quickly. read more

RUDE RUDE RUDEEEEE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We came in at 11:30 while YELP said it was opened until 2am. We asked if the kitchen was closed and one of the bartender kindly told us it was while another bartender shoo'd us out as if we were not welcomed. Soooo disrespectful and definitely shown that it was a reflection of how this venue treat their customer. Never coming back and I highly suggest people go elsewhere to get their drinks and food. read more

For those of you who miss Wisteria or Hukilau, this place has a similar vibe. Fun mix of regulars and pau Hana crew. Bartender is - as others have stated - crazy cool. He takes care of his customers and knows most by name. Every food option is delicious, so don't ask for a recommendation! Go with whatever protein you're wanting that day and trust you'll be satisfied. read more

Decided to try a neighborhood bar and it did not disappoint. The food was delish, we ordered the Kung Fu Ham Deep Fried Pork Belly, Loaded Tater Tots, and Cheese Curds. The bourbon selection was amazeballs and our pick for the night was Russell's Reserve. We have found our Friday night bar!!! read more

Stumbled across this place while walking downtown, and I'm so glad we did! The Nighthawk was a refreshing change of scenery from the countless seafood restaurants and Asian places in the area. Classic Chicago-style food with a few menu items with more local flair, we were super impressed by the speedy service and the quality of the food. Being from the Midwest, we especially enjoyed the Cheese Curds and Tater Tots! The owner was extremely welcoming and kind, and we were all astonished as he served as chef, waiter, and bartender, all while watching over his adorable 3-year-old daughter! Cannot wait to return back to the Nighthawk, and I encourage you all to find your way there as well! read more

Anyone else think about a restaurant well after the their vacation? Just me? Okay, lol. My friends and I raved for days on their pork belly and crack sauce!! An outstanding combination, the sauce is commonly used in southeast asian dishes. Had the pleasure of talking to one of the cooks that came out and I honestly felt like I was at home, wish we talked to him a bit more but his time was limited. I wish I went here again before returning home but here I am writing a review for future reference for my self. I can't wait to be back! Bottom line, if you go for the pork belly appetizer, you won't be disappointed! read more

The wonderful family working at The Nighthawk couldn't have been more friendly and so very kind. The food was absolutely incredible! I had the chicken sandwich, which was fresh and delicious. Wow found this place while on vacation!! The staff and owner are from my hometown of Chicago and their menu is Chicago based. The Vienna hotdog is a true original Chicago dog!!! The pork belly is soooo good also. The atmosphere is lovely plenty of room to dance,drink and eat!!! read more

I just went to this place called Night Hawk. It was amazing the place has a home feel to it. The owners are amazing and very down to earth. Now let's talk about the food broke da mouth belly pork so soft and juicy. Every thing about this place is great and you gotta try the crack sauce to die for. Went to night hawk as a last resort because everything else had a long line. Was fairly quiet and decent drinks. I went to the bathroom and in that amount of time I found my friends kicked out because they asked the bar tender ( who seemed intoxicated) 3-4 times for one drink. He served many other people before he finally served him. I went out of the bathroom and found my friends outside because he poured shots in various amounts and when questioned about it he kicked them out 0/10 would recommend. read more

Awesome new spot in Chinatown for some "hit the spot" bar food and great drinks. There's also a courtyard in the back of the restaurant that's perfect for getting some fresh air while enjoying some drinks. Owner is extremely talented and great bartender, highly recommend this spot! read more

Came in on a slow Monday night and was made to feel like family. Awesome whiskey and beer selection with killer bar snacks. I've been wanting to try this place out since before they opened and I was pleasantly surprised. They are just a block away from chinatowns main stays but totally worth it. There is also a secret beer garden area that's really cool! Highly recommend. read more

I think people really only come here to drink and eat fries or pizza, if you come here expecting a nice restaurant experience, I don't think you'll get that.

When our food came out it was presented nicely, but the burger patties seemed unseasoned. I believe they're previously frozen which ok since they don't specify it's made in house but it just lacked seasoning unfortunately. It's not too loud In there, lots of TV's to watch sports & I saw the girl happily change it for an other table who wanted to watch something in particular. They were also out of a couple things which the server made us aware of, later I overheard more things were out after another couple tried to order. The service was great but the food was ok.

Good Morning, I want to start off by mentioning, we loved adding Nighthawk, as one of our bar crawl bars. The bartender is never nice though but, we have a friend that knows him so she usually orders our drinks for the lesbians and non Asians. The old Japanese bartender that had been their a while is extremely rude and prejudice against, gay people and people who are not Asian but he likes white people. Several months ago. When my friends who are gay women and all nationalities were trying to decide in what they wanted from your old Japanese bartender, he yells to them, they don't even know what they want rudely and walked away. That sexual orientation discrimination, race, and gender discrimination!!!! The next rudeness we encountered was a big bald white waiter. He was rude and nasty to another lesbian couple who was also with is as well. They asked him did they serve ice coffee. The big bald whit guy replied we don't serve that shit here, and walked away. My friend told him she thought he was being rude. The big bald white guy said opinions are like assholes everybody's got one. We ate very good friend with Vanessa who knows you the owner. We shouldn't have to always take her with yo Nighthawk, because she is white yo get good service. The last time Vanessa had to order our drinks, because the old Japanese bartender refused to serve us. The people you have employed remind me of that Jim Crowe mentality. I have informed the LGBQTA+I Community to never come to your bar ever and, tell all Ally's never to come to your bar. Their behavior was and is unacceptable. The Nighthawk has been known to treat lesbian women and African American women poorly. This is a shame because we really wanted to make this our bar hop bar. The old Japanese bartender who has been there for years should have be fired a long time ago. The big bald white server should be fired as well. I wouldn't recommend this place to the DEAD!!!! Visited this place for the first time last night and I really enjoyed the food, drink, and service at the nighthawk! It felt like a very chill and comfortable place to hang out with friends. I got to sample a Chicago dog, a piece of the pork belly, and a crispy honey soy wing, and they were all 11/10. The spicy sauce for the pork belly had a good kick that I was not expecting, definitely ordering that for myself next time. Shout out to our bartender Eddie, (hope I got the name right) who is a wonderful human being and provided excellent service! Please tip this man well, he deserves it. LEGITIMATpeeps, Eddie, Eduardo, Mikie, Shane & even newbie Mike are GREAT! After work crowd very cool. Tater totes a must. As a matter of fact so is all their other grinds. No need pay for music like some other places. Very informal and comfortable. Great selection of beers and alchole. Great service. Trivia on TV so much fun (especially while drinking). read more

First time here, recommended by a co worker. They were busy on a fri and I was told they have alot of regulars who came here. We had a small party and ordered pupus an shots.
