Podmore was a bit outside of what we'd normally choose, but I'm glad we gave it a try. Overall, it was a great experience. The atmosphere was incredible, the service was excellent, and every dish we had was delicious. The restaurant has a very elegant feel, making the dining experience just as memorable as the food itself. I'd definitely recommend it if you're in town and looking for a great place to grab a bite. I highly suggest making a reservation, but if you happen to walk in and get a table, consider yourself lucky!
I absolutely love this place! The decor is beautiful, ornate, and full of thoughtful little details that make the entire dining experience feel special. The staff is always so friendly and helpful, and they consistently give great recommendations for both food and drinks. I've been here for both brunch and dinner, and while dinner is good, brunch is definitely the standout for me! Their drinks are so inventive and unique -- I always look forward to trying their newest creations. As for the food, everything we ordered was delicious, but the surprise favorites were definitely the pancakes and the chicken and waffles. The pancakes were incredibly flavorful with a subtle smoky touch that made them extra memorable. I'm usually not a huge chicken fan, but I could not get enough of the chicken and waffles. The French toast was also amazing -- rich, custardy, and perfectly done. I can't wait to come back!
What a relief to find a place like this in Hawaii!!! We love all the food here, but to have this experience with exceptional British classics on their menu with excellent cocktail combinations that will give you all the cozy comfort feels!!! The English toffee pudding. It's so so hard to find one made with dates. A ton of places call a lava cake with caramel sauce as English toffee pudding which it's not. But this is amazing, and pretty authentic cooking techniques. The cocktail menu is incredible! Their smash burger for lunch is wonderful!!! The brisket burger was very good. Then we had this mushroom bacon toast as an appetizer. We should have ordered two!!! We were basically fighting over it! Service was perfect and the waitstaff was attentive. Food came out fast. This place is so nice and beautiful inside. So lucky to have found this place. Cannot wait for a date night!!
I've realized that when a bar has a more complex cocktail menu, pre batching is almost necessary, and that does seem to be the case here. The space itself is small and really cute, and clearly popular. They were fully booked even on a Tuesday. That said, it does make for a pretty tight environment. Tables are close together and you can easily hear conversations from across the room, so it does not feel very intimate or quiet. The drink itself was just okay. I am usually a vodka person and had the Romantic Lead. It was good, but nothing particularly memorable, and the portion felt very small. On the positive side, the staff was great and the crowd had a really good vibe. Overall, the service and people were wonderful. It was just the atmosphere that felt a bit off for me.
10/10 for their customer service! I got their fairly early for my reservation, and they allowed me to sit at the table. I ordered a mocktail, but had to omit something from the drink because I was allergic. I was happy they notified me that it may taste a little strong (sweet) without that ingredient. I was a little disappointed that they didn't recommend something to exchange it with. Seeing that they make all drinks in house (no sodas), I thought maybe that was something they'd do. But the drink still came out ok. Their Pork Bao Buns were AMAZING!! Juicy and crispy center, with a semi "apple" sweet flavoring and crispy outside. The bun itself was steamed... it does get stuck to your teeth, but so delicious. I wish I could say the same for their salad... I ordered the Chopped, added sardines and avocado (they were out of avocado). I asked for my dressing on the side. Salads came with dressing in it... and my presentation was great. But my guest was very unimpressed. She ordered the same thing as me but with added chicken and no olives... hers looked like lettuce and chicken... a kids meal. then someone from the kitchen came out with EXTRA dressing for me (I think our server mixed up What she typed in). The cook asked if everything was ok, my guest explained what's wrong, and they fixed it. With a smug look... but none the less, fixed it. Their Chai latte was phenomenal as well. But our server said she'd come back and take another beverage order... she didn't. We really wanted to try another mocktail. But that's alright. The chairs that we sat in were large purple swivel chairs... if you get this spot ASK TO MOVE! They do not have enough space in that restaurant for their guests & servers to walk through without hitting the chair! Unless you are a size 0, walking through, you hit the chair, and the person sitting in it, SPINS. So through out my stay, I was getting bumped and turning left and right. My guest thought it was hilarious... I on the other hand felt like I was in those TEACUPS in Disneyland! The server did her best, so she still got a 20% tip. Keep in mind, there already is a KITCHEN fee automatically put on your receipt. All in all, if you go there for lunch, do not get any salads, sit in a booth, and order HOT food only. But I'll go back in the evening to see if it is a little better of an experience.
First time visiting. We used to live on island, but now only visit once a year. This was my favorite dining experience on the whole trip. I loved the aesthetic. Service was friendly and attentive! The mocktails were delicious. I ordered the Shepherd's pie which was amazing! One of the best variations I've ever had. The others in my party got the steak and ale pie and thought it needed more filling. I could tell they both wished they got the Shepherd's pie. Highly recommend a reservation. Can't wait to return next trip!
One of my favorite places to grab drinks. The food was also delicious. The espresso martini was my favorite because they put some matcha powder on the top and something about it just elevates it a lot. It reminds me of a speakeasy, even though it's not hidden at all. I love the vibe of this place and cant wait to take my mom back. Also... they decorated really nicely for Halloween which is my personal favorite.
Visited Podmore on Vday and it was a lovely experience. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive. We came to an earlier dinner timeframe which was nice because it wasn't overly crowded or too loud. We ordered the fries, which were ok but the ketchup was delicious. It tasted like a jelly ketchup which was different, but very flavorful. We also ordered the truffle lasagna and we found it to be extremely heavy. Flavor was good, too much truffle for my liking (but some may love that). I ordered the pot pie and that crust was to die for!!! Best dish of the night hands down! For our appetizer, we ordered the smoked salmon dip and that too was delicious! Overall the experience was lovely.
If you're looking for a bar that prioritizes quality and the experience of patrons, Podmore is just that place. Its upscale, trendy speakeasy vibes is perfect for its location in Downtown where you can catch folks after work or treating themselves for a special occasion. However, don't be intimidated by its looks. The service is very friendly and welcoming -- washing away any preconceptions you may have. But the cocktails and food are what you come for. The cocktails prioritize quality liquors and house made mixers to make any concoction sheer perfection. If it's your first time, I highly recommend splurging on the premium side of the menu. You'll not only get a great cocktail, but also an amazing presentation. The food is not just your regular type of bar food. While you can get fries (which are great by the way), you can also get a genuine take on a shepherd's pie. I also really enjoy the smoked salmon dip. Like the cocktails, I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Street parking is very limited but, if you don't mind walking, there are plenty of municipal lots nearby. If you live in town, I'd uber so you can truly enjoy your brunch or evening there.
You have to have brunch here! Ogres Have Layers - OH. MY. GOSH. the best martini espresso we have ever had! It was so smooth and I love the matcha cream foam! The Dartmoor - 1000/10! We've never experienced a drink like this! Its multi-sensory presentation should have its own reward! The aromas were the icing on the cake! This drink was so smooth, too! Beef brisket hash - big portion! The chimichurri made this dish so flavorful. Fried chicken & waffles - potato waffle with truffle white gravy! YUM! "Christmas Breakfast" - house smoked salmon with brown butter hollandaise! Smoked soufflé pancake - The texture is different than a traditional soufflé, but it's so good! The presentation was cool, too! Service was good! Nothing about this experience felt rushed and that was nice. The interior and decor is so aesthetic. The velvet is so chic. Highly recommend everything we ordered. You can't go wrong.
1,000 out of 5 stars I cannot begin to say just how good the food and cocktails were. Alex the mixologist was one of the best on the island!!! We all were blown away by not only the flavors but the presentation. Same goes for the food, like WOW . Hands down the best brunch food I have had here!! Service was also 5 stars! This made my birthday one to remember!!! The ambiance was just stunning and intimate.
Just a quick update since enjoying another great brunch here with Joe K. My go-to for brunch has always been the Christmas Breakfast but this time there was a brunch item i hadn't seen before, Beef Brisket Hash, and it was another terrific dish. It came with a sunny-side up egg and drizzled with chimichurri. Super delicious. Joe K did order the Christmas Breakfast again and we ended up splitting both our dishes so we could enjoy both...teamwork makes the dream work! There were also some new seasonal cocktails. I started with the "Do you know the muffin man" which was a holiday spiced whiskey sour. It came in a cute gingerbread man cup and was very tasty. Still one of my favorite eateries in downtown.
Perfect place for a girls lunch or moody drink after work! Staff was extremely welcoming when we arrived and we were seated for our lunch reservation immediately. We were celebrating a coworkers birthday and our waitress was kind enough to give us celebratory mimosas. Food came out quickly and would highly recommend sharing a few appetizers. The mains were decent portions and none of us had any complaints. Parking can be found in any of the garages around the restaurant or street parking.
Happy Friday! Our boss took us out for a farewell lunch for my best coworker friend. Poutine and Lasagna were the best choices today!! Burger was also pretty good. Forgot to take a picture of Carbonara, pretty good too. Service was excellent, and we all had a great time. The ambiance is always charming, honestly the best lunch spot in downtown Honolulu in my opinion. read more

Velvet chic. Thoroughly designed w/ a chic European vintage aesthetic, yet filled w/ the modern downtown hnl patron - Podmore's juxtaposition offers a unique dining atmosphere for any occasion. Take a screen break and relax in one of their cozy velvet seats (: . the Sheppards Pie is stuffed with lamb and served on a lipped plate - different from the expected bowl - but the pie was still just as rich, filling, and delicious. the Seared Ahi Sandwich comes with a hefty cut of ahi and thick cut house made fries. The chunky sweet ketchup was the surprising spotlight and made an impressionable difference. Apparently it's also made in house from scratch...cute! The cold brew (straight) effectively combatted the possible post lunch nap. A wise order considering my stroll back to work wouldn't be enough to battle the snooze. . Excellent service, excellent food, and am excited to return. Cheers! read more
I got a bar seat when I stopped by in the evening. Podmore was recommended to me by the concierge at my hotel. The happy hour is a 15% off across the menu from 4-6pm. Service was friendly and open to conversation. They have a bottle of Maker's Mark prominently displayed at the bar. The story with that is that they ordered a custom batch from the distillery. So they have a custom blend of Maker's Mark you can try. I didnt order it, but it seems interesting. The food was prepared well, everything came out crisp and contrasted with the other ingredients. The roasted steam bun was interesting, it make me think of gua Bao which has a lot of similar touches but not crispy pork belly like they do here. The chicken parmesean was good, but probably not their most notable dish. Interior seemes modern and relatovely compact. If you come here to host a gathering of more than ten, it may be better to book the venue altogether. The space is rectangular, and there isnt really a great sea ting for bigger groups to be together and engaged. The restaurant should be able to fit around 25 people. read more

This place is nicely decorated with great lighting. It's a narrow restaurant so if it is crowded, it can feel tight. The food is something different for Hawaii and I like it! Definitely try the devils on horseback, cottage pie and the mushroom toast!! They have some serious cocktails, with very cutesy names. We tried the Chung chow, which was awesome and the Tropicana. read more

I've been 3 times now, and the food has been impressive each time. You can't go wrong with anything you order; it's just a matter of what you feel like eating. Last night we had the Scallops Petit Pois à la Française; Kale & Truffle Lasagna; and Sticky Toffee Pudding. The scallops were probably cooked the best I've had in my life; just perfect. The lasagna was delicious! And the Sticky Toffee Pudding was addictive! (I was already full, but couldn't stop eating it!) Their cocktails are good too, tasty and not strong. I luv the décor, classy and cozy. Parking was easy to find at the post office on Thursday night, or on the street Friday night. Service is very good: friendly, attentive & pretty knowledgeable. It's now become a favorite place of mine. read more
Loved the coziness of the place. It's quaint and feels like an old fashion bar. The cocktail menu had me salivating. I can't remember the names of our cocktails but they were perfect. We shared the pork buns that were pork belly with pickled onions and apple sauce. I didn't care for the herbed bun but the filling was tasty. The pork was nice and crisp. We shared the fish and chips. We could tell the fish was fresh and the chips were hand cut. My favorite was the sauce that comes with it. It was almost like a creamy chimchuri sauce. I wish the offered my appetizers for Pau Hana. I can see why so many people come here. I missed the desserts. read more

I came back here for Lunch to celebrate our team win! As always the staff was very accommodating to us. I reserved and preordered our food and informed the staff that we are only limited to an hour, they were prepared and met our time crunch, they were fantastic and took great care of my group. The food was delicious and the presentation was meticulous, 4 out of the 5 in my group was their first time coming here and they made a great first impression. The restaurant was kept clean and the green velvet couches and golden accents and hanging apothos are beautiful and gave a high-end look, making this place perfect for business meetings or luncheons. Please note the 20% gratuity for parties 5+. I would definitely come here again. read more

Just went for Desert and cocktails. Had a rez but took a while to be seated. Staff were really friendly. Interior is nice and upscale. Although our seat was covered in crumbs when we sat. Took their drink recommendations - Notorious P.I.G tasted like Al Pastor tacos - very well balanced and highly recommend. The valentine special cocktail (strawberry old fashioned) and 'something to sing about' were interesting flavors but not great. The bonoffee pie and sticky toffee pudding were amazing. read more

Podmore absolutely nails the ambiance - stylish, upscale, and one of the most beautiful brunch spaces in Honolulu. The Smoked Salmon Dip was a great start, and both the Christmas Breakfast and Brisket Hash were rich, flavorful, and perfectly executed. Adding the bacon and black pudding was the move. Service was attentive, and the Prosecco paired perfectly with brunch. Definitely more of an elevated brunch experience than a casual spot, but worth it for the atmosphere alone. read more
Cute spot in Chinatown with great festive decor. We came for brunch and shared the smoked salmon dip, which was the best thing, and then each had an entree. The kitchen made a mistake and missed one of our dishes, but the were very good about rush ordering it and brought us rock cakes on the house as an apology. Overall, I thought this place was cute and good, but not necessarily rave worthy. read more

The staff, the bartenders, the ambience, the food, the VIBES. What a jackpot to hit when stumbling across a place where I was expecting just a quick drink. A top-notch dirty martini, an amazing salmon dip, and the best Caesar salad later ended our night with some of the best evening snacks and cocktails in Oahu so far (and this is our 7th trip to the island)! This was my first time at Podmore for my birthday brunch. My friend had the Full English Breakfast and I had the Christmas Breakfast. My favorite part of the Christmas Breakfast was the potato rösti! The edges were perfectly crispy but still soft in the center and complimented the brown butter hollandaise. Both dishes were super hearty and filling! The restaurant was cozy and elegant with all the lights and the seating was comfortable. It's a perfect spot to grab a drink or go out for date night! Unfortunately our server wasn't very attentive and didn't come by to check on our table until we asked for the check. read more
Had an amazing lunch at Podmore. The Halloween decorations were up while there. Very cute spooky!!! The menu had a wide range of choices from fish & chips to my wonderful lamb curry with mango chutney. I started with the non-alcoholic blood orange and elderberry beverage. Then a lamb curry with mango chutney plus rice and Indian bread. Dessert was a chocolate, banana and creme slice. All my food items are pictured. The flavors were wonderful and was a treat for my palette. The waitress was courteous and so attentive. I will definitely come back the next time I am in the business area. I can see why the dining room filed up quickly for lunch. read more

My manager and I decided to come to Podmore for a work lunch. Good thing we made reservations because the restaurant was full for lunch on a Wednesday. I made reservations for the bar, but they were able to seat us at normal seating when we arrived. The inside of the restaurant is very classy - a beautiful bar, floral wallpaper, and royal green couches. They have a very unique menu, and it was hard to decide what to get. I got the cottage pie. We were so disappointed when we found out that most of stuff we wanted to try was no longer on the menu. But we are so glad that we decided to stay and give it a try from their small brunch menu. Service - 4/5. Our server was nice and attentive. Ambiance - 5/5. It's a charming restaurant, perfect for a romantic date or hanging out with friends. Food - 4.5/5. My carbonara was amazing. Loved every bite of their perfectly cooked house made pasta. The pachetta was perfectly cooked as well. If you like carbonara, I highly recommend it. If you like sweets, their French toast was also made in perfection. Toasty crunch outside and soft inside. The only thing we didn't enjoy was their chicken tender which was a bit too dry. It could be just ours, but we can't recommend it if you are thinking of an add-on to your dish. Coffee - 2.5/5. Their coffee is much lighter side. Since we prefer a bold flavor coffee, it wasn't our favorite. Would we come back? Absolutely yes! We can't wait to come back here again and try other things on the menu! This is a cute and quaint place in downtown. Very unique and small. The couches and chairs are so comfy. Very delightful. Service was nice but a little slow. However, the waitress suggested great things to eat. My only qualm is that the brunch menu had the carbonara as $26 but we were charged $30. When we asked the waiter said they forgot to change the menu. Which we felt wasn't right. The carbonara was amazing. Light and refreshing. The French toast was amazing and caramelized. Cute little spot I've always wanted to try. Upscale bar in the heart of downtown, you'll get transported into a New Orleans/ Great Gastby themed brunch spot. Colors of green and purple with elegant decors of gold and marble really makes this place seems so cozy and cute. Table seating and bar seating, with the option of a booth seating as well. They do take reservations so that's always a great help when you're on a lunch crunch. The drink menu is superb. So much variety in drink options. The food seems a little limited but the quality is amazing. I did notice that the wait time for the drinks were longer than usual. The food took a while too but I can understand that crafted food might mean more time. The price is okay but I did notice the kitchen appreciation fee... which was interesting and made me think that maybe they give table tips to just servers and this is a way for Kitchen staff to get more money. So definitely not made about it, just interesting. Ordered the Life's a Peach drink and mmmmmmm so delicious. The cottage pie was nicely piped mashed potatoes and baked with what seemed like a hint of red wine or maybe speciality sauce. The chicken pop pie was delicious. I had so much fun here! I loved this restaurant a lot! We wanted drinks so decided to sit at the bar, the interior is super cute and the chairs are comfortable. We tried several drinks on the menu and loved the dartmoor drink, it had an ice cube which was layered with flavors that changed the profile. We also had the Rubik's cube with multiple flavors, it was super fun but too sweet for my specific palette. I really liked the culture club as well. For food, we had the smoked soufflé pancake and the carbonara. The pancake... this is like... what dreams are made of for me. The carbonara was also totally amazing. First time here and since it's a small cozy place I would make reservations. Cute place for a date night or to have some dinner and drinks with friends. They had it decorated with Halloween themed so it was cute. The chairs were also very comfy. Definitely want to come back to try their breakfast menu read more

We decided to come to Podmore for lunch and it was totally worth it! I love their new lunch special, the chicken sandwich was crispy and filling! I wish it came with fries or something :((! I also HIGHLY recommend any of their cocktails. It's all super refreshing!! I'll be coming back again!! read more

I will start off to say, the drinks were good and ambiance was amazing. I understand good food takes time. We waited for an hour for our food to be served. Lasagne- overcooked. Scallop- salty AF. Carbonara- undercooked. Beef and chicken potpie- EXCELLENT. OUR BILL- tacked on automatic 20% tip (party of 5) plus kitchen appreciation fee 4% which none of us saw the fine print on the menu. read more

Can someone explain the difference with the seating options? On Resy, you can choose from "Bar", "Table", or "Living Room". There will be four of us.
Living room option has a low coffee table.
Do they serve food for dinner?
Yes. They have a ton of small shareable plates and desserts. If you look for my review we had one of everything on the menu
Do they take reservations for brunch? I don't see anything on Rest (unless they're booked, I guess).
Yes. Brunch has reservations. If you dont see any its booked or they arent open on that day. Resy has a "notify" button so if someone cancels it alerts you. def use that because youd be surprised how many ppl cancel.
If you go for drinks, is it best to make reservations for the "bar" or "living room"? We have reservations at Senia afterward. I'm trying to try all the great places in HNL while I am there for a long weekend. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
it doesnt matter. its all basically the same since the menu is the same. just depends on if you want to sit on chairs and couches or at a bar stool. and how many people are in your party
