The lobster rolls were very tasty, however the establishment was not up to our standards of cleanlines. This is a really low key spot tucked in the back of Perkins Cove. You order at the counter and and your food comes out on trays which you carry to your table. Prices are reasonable and tipping is optional since its pretty much self service. If you are looking for one of the best Lobster Stews in the area this is the spot. Best Garden Salad and Lobster Rolls! The food we ordered was fantastic and staff was very helpful too!

I was on a drive of the coast with some girlfriends and we stopped in the adorable little village in Ogunsquit, ME. We walked around a tad and then went into Lobster Shack for some Linner. This spot is seems family run with a ton of love. Its small and perfectly quaint. The staff were very friendly. Everything we got tasted delicious. The chowder wasn't super thick which was refreshing. The slaw was perfectly dressed. The only thing I'd change is to have Salt and Vinager chips instead of traditional. My friend are BOTH her lobsters and waddled out very happy I will definitely be back! read more

I've definitely had better lobster rolls in my life but I'm giving this place 4 stars because of the service. Despite ordering at the counter, your food is brought to your table and staff came by to check if we wanted refills and to clear things off the table. Sometimes you don't get that type of service at a "real" restaurant so please tip well like we did when you order at the counter because these people work hard! As for the food, I honestly wasn't all that impressed. My hot lobster roll was over cooked and chewy. My fiancé got a bacon burger which he liked. Both were served with potato chips and slaw. I usually don't like slaw because of all the mayo but the Lobster Shack does it right. It was tangy and refreshing. However, the price for everything was very affordable because with two soft drinks our lunch was less than $40. They had a twin lobster special that day (June 19), for $24 which is a huge bargain. read more

A tiny place in a cute place like Perkins Cove, The Lobster Shack doesn't have to be magical...just don't suck. And it's pretty good. The service is strong and attentive. Since it was summer when I went, there were younger folk working there and they seemed pretty experienced. I had a steamed lobster with potato salad on the side. The lobster is steamed perfectly and the potato salad was really good. I like a potato salad that's not too creamy but have a savory flavor, which it has. People, listen up...their soups are gluten free. That means gluten free chowder, gluten free lobster stew! Their lobster is fresh off the boat, their prices are totally reasonable! We got the double lobster roll to share, it came with chips and coleslaw. The lobster meat was overflowing in the bun. Very light mayonaise and nothing else. Every bite melted in my mouth, it was so fresh and flavorful. There is no outdoor seating, all indoors. They have tables spaced out for every other table during Covid19. On a recent trip to Maine we were looking for a local place to try some famous Maine seafood. After checking yelp we decided to stop in at the Lobster Shack. It's a very small place tucked into an odd island/street. You definitely have to know where you're going or you'll miss it. Luckily we went on a weekday in October so the traffic was minimal and we were able to get a parking spot easily. The gentleman behind the counter & the employee that brought us our food were all very pleasant. We decided to try the clam chowder & the fish tacos. The cost was a little pricey, but the food was good. The clam chowder was more like a soup but it was very flavorful & the portion size was large. The fish tacos were also very flavorful; there was guacamole under the fish & the fish was seasoned with a spicy powder. All in all good experience. read more

Ok might be too harsh here I'm a tourist and this is a tourist joint. Sits on a very scenic point in a touristy area of small shops. Food was good 2 Lobster rolls specials which included chowder and 2 beers, $90 after tip. Sat on a picnic bench with a few of a wall. Staff was friendly and attentive. The Lobster Shack was a decent experience. You enter, order and then your food is brought to your table. This is a shack and thus space is definitely at a premium. Service is fairly non-existent due to the nature of the ordering process. Lobster rolls were pretty hefty and enjoyable. Wasn't too impressed by the steamed lobsters. I found them to be small and inconsequential- even at the steep ME lobster discount. Perkins Cove and the Ogunquit coast is a really beautiful and scenic area. This was one of the many lobster rolls we sampled on a recent visit to Maine. While it wasn't our favorite roll, the cozy interior and friendly staff made it an enjoyable overall experience! I ordered the crab roll, and my husband got the lobster roll with chowder. The portions are generous and filling- my husband and I couldn't finish all our food. Each roll came with chips and cole slaw. I really liked the cole slaw as it was light and sweet, which helped balance the heaviness of our rolls. The crab roll was delicious, but the lobster was a little chewy/rubbery, thus knocking it down to four stars. My favorite part of the meal was definitely the chowder- YUM!! It was thinner than a traditional chowder, which I loved, and chock full of clams and potatoes. Definitely a must try! read more

Fun little casual place in a pretty area. Parking is challenging but it's worth it. Great lobster and soups!

The chowder was very watery. I was quite surprised. Overall the chowder had a good bit of meat in it but it was not creamy. Perhaps this is the style? The flavor was also pretty bland. Not as bland as the lobster roll but still bland. The lobster roll was huge at half pound. The price comes with it though. All in all it was flavorless. The only thing that had taste was the bread. The food was very filling. I couldn't eat the basic ruffle chips or the coleslaw. The tap beer selection was decent for a place this size. Inside is cozy bench seating. It was a stormy Maine night (the first one of our honey moon) and my wife and stopped in for a lobster roll. I felt like I was in the storyline of Treasure Island when we stepped through the door out of the rain and we're greeted with warm and welcoming aromas of delectable seafood. The place was filled with families of all ages who were definitely regulars by the way they ordered and greeted the chef. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I had the double lobster roll and my wife had the single lobster roll with a cup of chowder and let me tell you, I don't think you will find a more delectable meal in Maine. I would give you the heads up that the food is not cheap, but suck it up because it's an experience that will stand out among other. I have had a few lobster rolls out in New England and I can rank this one up with the best of em! Price wise might have been the lowest price (1/4 lb lobster ). It came with chips and coleslaw, both standard fare. The roll was perfectly toasted and the lobster came in big chunks, and tasted as fresh as you'd expect. They don't put too much mayo, just the right amount. All for $18 My gf had the steamed clams and she devoured them all, she let me have a few and I agree, what a delicious and simple way to enjoy fresh clams. Comes with clam stock and butter. Service is great, the location is so rustic and quaint, and right on the dock, they walk out to the boats and buy the seafood fresh everyday, it was a nice Maine experience. The homemade chowder wasnt too heavy and thick. It was nice and warm. I liked that there was different components in it; fish, clam and potatoes. They probably had more but I wasnt too sure. They showed us the lobsters we were going to to eat that day when they weighed it. At least we know that itll be fresh. We were so full we didnt even finish the two sides we got as well. The lady there was super nice and sweet to us. It made us think of how nice everyone in Ogunquit and Portland was. Their traditional clam chowder was stock full of what were clearly fresh clams, not canned or frozen. The lobster was beautiful and full of meat. The lobster rolls were perfection. The bread toasted beautifully and the lobster chunks plentiful. Their coleslaw was also phenomenonal and were a perfect pair to the lobster. I also had the 21 steamed clams and they were amazing. The price was really fair and the location is super cute! The service was fast and friendly. This place had the best mayo-type lobster roll I had this week on vacation in Maine. The roll itself was wonderful - salty, buttery, toasted just enough that it was perfectly crispy on the inside. That, juxtaposed with the cold, perfectly seasoned lobster meat, was wonderful. Just the right amount of mayo! However i didn't really like the coleslaw that much. Had better this week (Portland Lobster Co, if you go up to Portland.) still, was so blown away by the lobster roll itself that they still get five stars! Oh and the lobster stew is also incredibly tasty, with chunks of lobster swimming in it!!!!
