They have some pastries with jam, toast with topping options, or a piece of quiche. You want a more traditional breakfast? Get your omelette with a side of bread. The platter was unexpectedly filling (and very delicious) so I didn't have much of the pancakes before packing them up to go. The pancakes were very sweet, a little too sweet in my opinion. I've lived in Montclair for about 3 years now and this is my favorite breakfast spot! The staff is always exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The giant crusty scones are my favorite in the area! Been here twice for brunch and the food here is impressive. My first visit I had the Pompei (oozy chocolate center) Fresh Berry pancakes. These are super fluffy, 3 to an order and very delicious. I have never had a pancake this fluffy. 2nd visit, I had a breakfast burrito special. Excellente! Eggs were very fluffy as well, and it was so nicely put together - with guacamole, and other fillings. What impresses me about this place is that even in this small space ( and kitchen looks small too), the quality of the food is excellent. They were very busy and it is a small space. We went once on a Sunday and waited about 30 min to get seated then again on a Wed around 11am and did not have to wait but we did see people waiting while we were eating. I can't tell you how many times I've driven by The Corner and seen the long lines and thought, "It can't possibly live up to this hype -- no place can be worth the waits that I see every weekend." Well, The Corner absolutely lives up to the hype -- and it's worth every minute you have to wait to get a table. The food is fresh and delicious. Somehow, even with it packed to the rafters, we didn't feel rushed. I could tell you that one of us got a fried egg on a biscuit with bacon and she nearly passed out it was so good -- and I had a fried egg over vegetable hash and was in heaven -- but it's kind of irrelevant. I had heard a lot of people recommend this place for brunch and, after a year of living in Montclair, finally made it. My expectations were exceeded. Their food was really, really good, and they had very interesting meal options on the menu. I got burrata, charred strawberries, and something else on toast--I didn't expect that from this little place on the corner. We ordered two lattes (large and small) which were delicious and our friends ordered coffee with milk (free refills on coffee!). For our meals we went with the Baked Eggs, the Farm Eggs, Pulled Pork Sandwich with House Chips, Avocado Toast, French Toast, and Fresh Berry Pancakes. The pancakes were super fluffy, but I definitely would've preferred them without the syrup at the bottom since they got a little soggy. We were able to get a table pretty quick given that it was a Friday, but on the weekend there might be a longer wait time given they are a local favorite and don't take reservations. Love love love this place!! This was my 1st but certainly not my last visit!! Ordered the pineapple and mint soda the Corner House cheeseburger and Rosemary Shoestring Fries. The food was delicious, they make fresh sodas, juices, coffee and iced coffee made to order. I believe all the dishes are made to order, so the food is coming to you hot and fresh. The food came in a timely manner and the service was superb. Our waiter was very attentive so sorry I didn't catch his name to give him a shout out but you can tell all the servers work very well together. Teamwork makes the dreams work!! Lol They have outdoor and indoor dining as well as ordering to go and delivery options. Nice ambiance and a nice chill spot to hang with friends for breakfast and lunch. The spot was so super cute and I really liked my breakfast. One thing that I can say is that the service here was very quick and accommodating but I'm sure everyone wants to know about the food. My meal was perfectly portioned I love the fact that it came with a mescaline greens salad with the dressing on the side and a nice serving of fruit. The brother came with was a delicious multigrain which I thoroughly enjoyed my eggs were cooked perfectly over easy. The only notch was the bacon being fried and not grilled. I got the fried chicken sandwich on the special menu and I thought it was great. Definitely better than most fast food chicken sandwiches. There was a great amount of chicken and the bun and other toppings were pretty good. It did fall apart a little. But it was still great. The side salad was good as well. Good combo instead of fries. I had a draft latte which was pretty great also. We decided to get banana cream pie for dessert. It seemed like it was just out of the oven as the waiter needed to go check if it was ready. It was really good. Not your typical banana pudding in a pie crust. It had nice slices of banana and whatever other stuff was on top. The crust was so nice and crispy, it was just a great ending to our meal. Definitely will be back here again. Was interested in eating here based on all the feedback/reviews. Was not impressed. Based on the reviews, I am either one of the few who didn't have a great experience or others aren't writing. Had the taleggio sandwich with tomato soup and deviled eggs. Never had a grilled cheese where the cheese was not melted and lukewarm and the bread was too toasted to eat. Deviled eggs were awful. No sure what the "sauce" was that was on them. Tomato soup was not hot and tasteless. Staff cleared away my food and no one asked if it was okay although it was completely not eaten. Got a kouign-amann to go. Another miss. The staff is hovering over you concerned with you getting out sooner. Very uncomfortable. Would not recommend and will not return. Daily special menu indicated they had run out of Pulled Pork Benedict, but after our 30 min wait we were told they had just finished making another batch!! I am so happy I decided to eat breakfast at The Corner. I happened to be in the area around 8 AM when nothing seemed to be open except for this restaurant. Everything on the menu sounded delicious so it was hard to pick, but what we did order was fantastic. I ordered a blackberry lime scone to begin and it was absolutely huge and also so delicious.
