Omelette

My vegetarian days might be well behind me, but I've got to pour out some love for the veggie burger at Raymond's. Every time I order it, I'm freshly in awe of how picturesque this burger is with its towering top bun atop an unimaginably crisped crust. I've found a lot of veggie burgers to suffer in taste and texture (I can't tell you how many have just deteriorated in my hands), but the good people at Raymond's know how to take care of their plant eaters. The accompanying fries are the skinny kind. While they're not my favorite type (mainly because it feels like I have to eat five to eight at a time to feel like I'm tasting the potato) and smaller in serving size, I appreciated that they were decently hot and well seasoned. It wouldn't be a diner if they didn't serve breakfast all day, and my breakfast fiend of a husband was positively gleeful over his omelette (all whites can be done upon request). He was even happier with the side serving of salad, which was far from the sad and wilted greens that typically compose a side salad. Instead, this was a robust helping of fresh greens, pepper slices, cherry tomatoes, and cucumbers that took up a whole half of his large plate. Service is warm, prompt, and faultless - exactly what you'd want from a quintessential diner experience. And while the decor doesn't add or detract from the good, I also adore the colored bottle displays that I've found are signature of all Raymond's diners (for those who care about such things, it makes for a highly Instagrammable backdrop).

Our family's favorite brunch/breakfast place. Whenever we're in New Jersey visiting family this is our go to place. Service is always very fast. Food is absolutely delicious. Beautiful art deco interior creates a delightful atmosphere for diners. First come first serve basis only. But do not be discouraged by the long lines. Service is very quick.

One of my favorite places for brunch/lunch - basically this place is a high end diner but with a more modern vibe to it than your old school classic diner. I got an omelet and wings and shared it with my friends and both were incredible. Value for what you get is great too.....highly recommend for anyone looking for a solid brunch/lunch bite.

Avocado toast and grilled bbq chicken sandwich

Food was extremely tasty. My mother couldn't stop munching and ate her whole sandwich, she usually takes half home! The avocado toast also phenomenal with the poached egg to top it off, the bread was crusty and so good! The waitress was quick and efficient while handling multiple tables. The outside seating was pleasant.

Popped in on a weekend and it was quite busy! It has casual diner vibes. The space can be crammed with the amount of people. The service and food were good. Descriptions on the menu would be helpful for guests. My salad and fries were super fresh. Our group enjoyed the meal overall

Been there many times in the past years, always great service, food on point and the ambience outside for the summer is the best part! This time I tried the raspberry soda and 4 cheese sandwich. Everything great as always.

Came here for a spontaneous anniversary lunch. It's BYOB, which is great because there's a cute Artesian Wine Store need door! We sat and then I ran over to grab a few libations. For our meals hubby had the Cobb Salad Dinner and a soup. I tried his salad and it was delicious. The onions were fried to perfection! For myself, I ordered the Belgian waffle with fruit, and the avocado toast. Both were so good! The waffle was hearty and not at all dry. The toast was a tad burnt underneath; but perfectly seasoned and topped with pickled radish, sunflower seeds and a poached egg. I ate every bite! The server was attentive and kind. Such a great experience. We will definitely return, when in the area!

Found this place thanks to a friend from NJ that recommended it. This is a really cute diner with great food. The space is cozy, has lots of seating, and in a great area for walking around after your meal. We came before lunch started and it wasn't packed, but more people started coming in as time passed. It clearly is a go to place for a lot of people because it ended up being decently busy. The food came out quick and was very tasty! I got the eggs Benedict with potatoes and a cafe latte. Staff were nice and friendly. If I'm in the area again I would definitely come back here.

Came here for brunch on a Sunday. It was super packed and couldn't find the waitress to give our names but when she came she took names down from another group that came in after us. Then they sat us in a small corner table in between two large tables so we had to ask the table to get up so we could use the rest room. Plus it's super loud in there. Service was very slow they probably were under staffed. Food was ok nothing special. Probably won't go back.

I saw the low rating for Raymond's on Yelp and asked if we could switch locations. The company we were with insisted the food is good so we kept our reservations. The restaurant has a BYOB policy, which can be fun if you are eating with friends. The food was good and all plates and silverware were clean! Service was very fast and the atmosphere was pleasant...minus our table atmosphere. We ordered a kid's plate of grilled chicken and mashed potatoes for our toddlers. We also ordered calamari and fish tacos. The calamari was a 5 out of 5 stars. It was delicious, had the perfect crunch and even the hot peppers were deep fried as well! The fish tacos I thought were chicken tacos...so not the best. The fish was overcooked and had a rubbery texture. All in all I would definitely come back here with friends or family. The only problem I had at this restaurant was the people we were sitting with at the table. If they were gone, we would have had a fabulous time :)

Hi Ana. Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am until 4pm.

I did not see one in the women's room.

Do you guys take reservations for brunch?

We had a large party and were unable to make a reservation. However, one person got there earlier than everyone. He let them know how many of us were coming, and the staff had everything ready for us by the time we got there- about 10 mins after.

How many calories in the French toast?

It's French toast..... If you're that concerned, pick something else.... Life is full of choices, live dangerously and eat it....

Do you make egg salad? Our birthday girl loves good egg salad.

Thanks for asking, John. We may serve egg salad from time to time as a special, but it’s not in our menu right now.

Sorry Lory, we don't have a liquor license. We do have the orange juice, and you are welcome to bring your own champagne!

The staff is fantastic, friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming, but the real star is the food. To start, we shared the Buttermilk Biscuit, Duck Fat Tater Tots, and the Beet & Citrus Salad. That salad... I'm still dreaming about it. The biscuit was equally delicious and will definitely be my go to from now on. The tater tots, while okay, lacked a bit of flavor. It did pair as well with the salad, but lone was lacking something. For the entree, I had the Breakfast Sandwich and also got a taste of the Brunch Tostada. Both were incredible, but the sandwich stole the show for me. The biscuit is absolutely top tier, and the chorizo sausage patty was perfectly spiced not too hot, just the right kick and paired beautifully with the rest of the sandwich. And the lattes? Simply amazing. Honestly, I'm in love with this place and can't wait to go back. The Saint Clair has officially converted me into a brunch fan and already have the date to go back.

Review: Café Faubourg - Montclair…read more Café Faubourg is one of Montclair's true gems--an authentic French bistro that feels as if it were lifted straight from a quiet Parisian street and placed right in the heart of town. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance sets the tone: warm lighting, intimate tables, and that unmistakable bistro charm that makes every meal feel like a small escape. The food is consistently excellent, starting with their hummus, which is surprisingly standout for a French spot. Smooth, flavorful, and beautifully plated, it's the perfect way to begin the meal and pairs wonderfully with their fresh bread. The steak frites is a must-order and easily one of the best in the area. The steak is tender and cooked exactly to preference, richly seasoned without being heavy, and served alongside crisp, golden fries that are everything you want in a classic bistro dish. It's simple, authentic, and prepared with the kind of care that elevates a traditional favorite into something memorable. Service at Café Faubourg is warm and attentive without being intrusive, contributing to the relaxed elegance of the experience. Whether you're dropping in for a casual dinner or celebrating a special occasion, the staff makes you feel welcome and unrushed. For anyone looking for an authentic French bistro experience in Montclair--excellent food, inviting ambiance, and truly charming service--Café Faubourg delivers every time.

During this visit, the plating of some of the dishes was odd, as whomever did it felt the need to position the food right at the edge of the plates. That made it difficult to eat the dishes without some of the food spilling off the side. Had to push everything to center to avoid this. Again, this was very odd, as it happened on two entrees and one dessert dish and was the first time we've seen this at Faubourg. The lamb duo had a fantastic grilled flavor, but part of it (I believe it may have been shank meat) was loaded with so much salt that it overwhelmed the flavors and was a bit difficult to continue eating. The last comment is admittedly nitpicky, but worth mentioning, as they automatically added a 20% gratuity despite the menu stating that 20% is added for parties of 6 or more. We were a party of two and I was a bit annoyed that they did this. The check also had a place for "additional tip", which was a bit presumptuous after adding the 20%. Overall, the experience was positive with a few hiccups that prevent me from giving 5 stars. Still highly recommended.

They have a full bar, high top tables, communal booth seating along one wall, and a section with tables for groups. It's not a huge place, so I recommend making reservations, especially for larger groups. The interior is styled after a casual European pub, but with rustic and elegant touches like fuchsia bougainvillea flowers, hanging industrial lights, antique chandeliers, distressed wood, etc. It's the ideal spot for date nights and celebrations. The tables are close together, so it does feel a bit crowded and the noise level can get high. The menu offers classic favorites from both European and American cuisines. The European dishes mainly consist of Italian, Greek, and Mediterranean flavors. I was surprised to see they have a full sushi menu! The drink menu is extensive - cocktails, wines, beer, hard liquor, you name it! Just a heads up - the prices listed on the menu are cash prices. Card pricing is available on their website. Mark was our server and I could tell that he enjoys his job! He had a fun personality and was attentive & welcoming from start to finish. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us recommendations on what to order. He made sure we were enjoying ourselves. The other staff members were quick with clearing our dishes and refilling waters. Not once did we feel rushed. 5 star service from Mark! We received complimentary bread and marinara dip to start, which we weren't too crazy about. The bread would've been better if it was served warm and had more seasoning on top. The marinara was watery and a bit bland. We ordered... *Porn Star Martini $16 (Weber Ranch vodka, passion fruit, lime, vanilla, sparkling rose) - My new favorite cocktail ;) It was the right balance of tropical, tart, and sweet. The sweetness was very subtle and the passion fruit flavor really shone through. The sparkling wine added a bubbly, crisp finish with every sip. I could definitely taste the alcohol... and I felt it running through my veins too LOL. *Pear Flatbread $18 (brie, caramelized pears, crumbled bacon, arugula, balsamic drizzle) - Highly recommend this appetizer! The bread is very thin and crispy, so it won't fill you up too much before your main course. Every bite was cheesy goodness combined with sweet & salty flavors from the pears and crunchy bacon bits. *Charred Hanger Steak $35 (with side of roasted mashed potatoes, wilted spinach, & chimichurri sauce) - Absolutely delicious! I requested my steak to be done medium and the chef delivered. It had a pink center with a rich, beefy flavor. It was tender, juicy, and paired well with the fresh, tangy, & herbal flavors of the chimichurri sauce. The mashed potatoes were soft and buttery. I only wish I got a larger portion of steak LOL. *French Chicken Breast $28 (topped with asparagus, manchego, almonds, pink peppercorns, capers, & potatoes) - The chicken was tender, but lacked moisture. It was a bit dry, but still enjoyable enough to eat. *Espresso Martini Shot $5 (Ketel One Vodka, espresso, Caffe Borghetti) - Coffee + alcohol.... a winner!!! The espresso and the vodka were nicely balanced. This was the perfect dessert drink - smooth, bold, nutty, & sweet. I would happily return. Good food, good drinks, good service, good ambiance... I'm already hyped for my second visit!
