Moved close to the area recently and decided to check this place out for date night :) overall, the ambience was nice and had a cozy vibe! Food was also amazing and everything tasted delicious. Our server was also generous and served us in a friendly manner. Overall, it was a great experience and would go back here again!

Pretty impressive, dining experience given the confluence of great tasting restaurants in the nearby area. Booked a reservation on Resy and came here on a date night, which was the perfect setting. Candle it inside with romantic decor (but hip) flavor, the food was delicious. We ordered several of their dishes including Arancini filled with well-cooked rice and mozzarella, a Persian cucumber salad dish blended with delicious hazelnuts, and an angelotti pasta dish glazed with chicken broth and fresh mushrooms. Food is delicious and you really cannot go wrong with any of their dishes. The place is BYOB so highly recommend bringing a bottle of wine or beer!

I have been wanting to come here forever and finally made it. Ben was our server and was very attentive, informative and all around on point. Parking is easy here you can park on Valley if there are spots or in the lot behind the strip and they have entrances on both sides. The atmosphere and ambience is nice. The tables are a decent distance apart and the noise level was good. It's a BYOB establishment. We loved all the food we ordered and it was paced to come out perfectly for me. I especially enjoyed the pork. I highly recommend here. Will return

This restaurant has been on my list to try for quite some time and I finally made it last week! Ventured in on a Saturday night with no reservations and was able to secure outdoor seating with no wait. I thought this restaurant wouldn't be kid friendly but I was pleasantly surprised. Not only were there a few kids there, but kids are given a little box full of animal figurines, crayons and coloring pages to keep them busy. BYOB with the added benefit of having a wine store next door. All the servers were very attentive and friendly. We tried the oxtail fries which was decandent. We also tried the off the menu fried chicken pre fix (which they are now allowing people to order without requiring the whole table agree). This is a lot of food! The prefix includes a salad, 5 pieces of fried chicken with shishito peppers and biscuits and donuts for dessert. The fried chicken was SO well seasoned (a little too much for my spice sensitive kiddo) but I thought it was juicy and the skin was so crispy. It was a good meal!

08/21/2025 Been a while since we stopped by the T&W. Have to say, we love the ambiance. The Persian cucumber salad was very different and very good. I'm going to have to replicate this at home. My wife's hanger steak was tasty, although a bit tough. My Berkshire pork chop was also very tasty, but I thought a bit too fatty. Service was very attentive and it's a BYOB.

So glad My son and future daughter in law invited us!! The food was amazingly delicious! Loved the bubbles! The perfect pairing with each of the entrees! Cheers Great ambiance! We've lived in the Montclair area for 5 years and have been to probably 100+ restaurants... this might be our favorite! The restaurant is dimly lit with quirky knickknacks and decor. The music is always good, but very quiet and not distracting. It is always busy, but not so much that you can't get a reservation or that the small room becomes loud. Perfect for both date night and going out with friends. It's a super chill vibe, but the service is appropriate for the price point (e.g., they bus your table after every course and give you new settings promptly, but never rush you). Our usual server is Candy, who is delightful and knowledgeable about the menu and food in general. It's a BYO next to two wine stores, and she can help advise what pairs well and always has amazing food recommendations. We rarely remark on an individual server, but she is exceptional. But the reason we love it is the food, which is incredible and on par with much more expensive eateries. They have, IMO, the perfect amount of consistency--seasonal turnover of about 20-30% of the menu but keeping the crowd favorites year-round--and the specials are always genuinely interesting. The beef tartare is one of my favorite bites anywhere. We always get that and the rosemary focaccia (just $4 for four of the biggest and most delicious slices of focaccia you'll have). The shishito peppers have also rotated spices a few times since we've been going, so we normally check that out if it's new. This time we got a new menu item: the tortelloni with mushroom ragout, which was a wonderful earthy fall spin on a usually light spring dish. Not the best pasta I've ever had as an NJ Italian, but the sauce and filling were umami heaven. And for dessert, I got a special. The chamomile panna cotta was perfectly balanced, with the floral notes complementing the custard rather than dominating it. I may have lightly macerated the strawberries as they were firm, but the flavors were absolutely *chef's kiss*, and this was a home run for a normally simple/boring dish. Not pictured were our 1/2 dozen oysters, double espresso, coffee, and tiramisu. All very good, but less noteworthy than the dishes pictured. Combined, we got 3 apps, 1 side, 1 entrée, 2 coffees, and 2 desserts. It ended up being $120 before tip and not including our bottle of wine. So it's definitely a "special occasion" place for us, but one we'll find an excuse to visit 3-4 times a year.

So happy to be able to find a nice place in Montclair that isn't so stuffy and overpriced for no reason. Between the decor and the menu and the service it's exactly what you want for a nice night out without feeling out of place. BYOB Shareable apps, rotating seasonal menu, and just enough options for any type of dietary restrictions.

This place was awesome. Was going to try to be a walk in around opening time since there were limited reservations, but I was lucky enough to call and find out that a table was available. The entire restaurant has a warm and cozy vibe, with dim lighting. The service was friendly and attentive, taking note of my kids' food allergies. Food was delicious, especially the burrata with tasty brussel sprouts that both went well together. The brick chicken was tender and unique with curry. The steak frites was rich, buttery and came with a generous portion of fresh french fries on the side. The roasted sweet potato agnolotti had the perfect consistency and balance in flavor. This is definitely a high quality restaurant that not only thrives in Montclair, but would also thrive if it were located in NYC. Would highly recommend.

I have wanted to come here for so long so I used the opportunity to take a special friend for her birthday and it was phenomenal. The service was fabulous and the prices for the quality of food were also amazing. We started with the rosemary focaccia, a basket of large squares of fluffy, hot and delicious bread then we moved on to the beet salad, delicate yet very flavorful with lots of texture. For main dishes, my friend had the Agnolotti which at the time was with morel mushrooms and peas, she loved it. I went with the Berkshire pork, which was probably one of the best pieces of meat I've had in a very long time. It was unbelievably tender and just mind blowing. For dessert we were too full so she had a cappuccino and I had the chocolate PB tart to bring home. It was wonderful. I would definitely love to go back, and taste more of their ever changing menu. A neighborhood gym.

Came here with a group of 6 for dinner on a Friday night and had such a great time. They're BYOB and there's a wine store across the street. Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was great. Appetizers: beef tartare, chicken liver mousse, and oysters. Everything was very shareable portions and my favorite was the chicken liver mousse (even people in our party who tried it for the first time enjoyed it). Entrees: duck confit pot pie (as delicious as it sounds), scallops (came with 5 in a light lemon sauce), chicken and dumplings (more chicken than dumplings), octopus + chorizo (delicious), pork shoulder pappardelle (tasty handmade pasta) and kielbasa (was the pork special of the day). Desserts: chocolate peanut butter tart (my boyfriend loved), olive oil cake (very moist) and brioche doughnuts (my favorite). The menu is a bit pricey but the quality is worth it. Can't wait to come back here again to try more! They have a family style whole roasted pig (serves 6-7) and fried chicken that I'd love to try.

I've been wanting to try this spot for years and I'm so glad I finally made it. We started with the rosemary fococcia which is a must try. It has a nice crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside. We also ordered the beef tartare and shishito peppers which were both very good. For the mains we ordered the steak medium rare, although it came out more medium. The au poivre sauce and the crispy fries were the stars of the show. I ordered the squid ink risotto and octopus which was good. I definitely want to come back to try their fried chicken dinner which they're known for and the muscles. For dessert we got the chocolate peanut butter pie and the donuts. BYOB, if you forgot don't worry, there's a wine shop across the street and next door.

Cool atmosphere, great energy, and good food! I also got super lucky with Hailey as my waitress. She sold me on just about every item on the menu... to the point where I completely handed over the decision-making to her. Yup, that's right, I told her what I liked and trusted her to pick my three dishes. And listen, when your name is on the menu for crafting a cocktail, I'm going to trust you to pick my meal too! Now for the food: the grilled octopus was amazing. Great flavor, perfect texture, and a really nice balance with the lentils. The shishito peppers were delicious, and the sauce that came with them added the perfect pop of flavor. The beet salad, however, was a little underwhelming. Unfortunately, it didn't have much flavor, so that one left me a bit disappointed. And then there was dessert. Oh man! Hailey did it again. She brought out the sweet corn cheesecake. Sounds weird, I know, but I had to try it. And yes, it definitely had sweet corn! It was a little too weird for my taste buds, but I'm glad I tried it.... Then came the Madeleines. Bite-sized, warm, and absolutely delicious. Fair warning: if you don't tell them to take the bowl away, you WILL eat the entire thing. Man oh man...so good!!! Overall, a really fun experience with a great atmosphere, good food, and a waitress who genuinely made the experience memorable. Kudos to Hailey for the great service and for knowing exactly what to recommend! She definitely made my night.

This review is from our meal on August 30, 2026. While the menu has been changed from time to time, it does not happen frequently. However, there are often a variety of special additions. One item on the menu we have ordered in every visit is the shrimp appetizer, which I mentioned in my original review. It used to be called shrimp arrabbiata. Now it's called garlic shrimp (according to the online menu, but believe it's baked garlic shrimp on the actual menu). By any name it's not to be missed. I believe it used to be 8 shrimps, which at some point was trimmed to 7 shrimps). The size are large to near jumbo, easily more than a single bite, easily U-25, but maybe not quite U-15 sized. The sauce is so good it's worth finishing with the consistently delicious warm rolls being used to soak up every last drop, or spooned out of the bowl like soup. It's spicy, but not overpowering. This is a must order for shrimp lovers. I usually order one of the many house-pastas. My wife is usually ordering one of the fresh fish offerings. The scallops are a hit too, as is the risotto, though I still nix the chorizo, which I'm typically then rewarded with extra crab. The service is very accommodating in every respect, willing to make every reasonable adjustment. Desserts are typically good, but also typical to all Italian eateries. They used to have a must-have mousse concoction that disappeared after a while. That was a mistake, as it was exceptional.

It was a…read morestunning space with sleek, modern furniture and walls adorned with vibrant, colorful artwork. The service was impeccable from the moment we arrived until the second that we left. From a food perspective, our meal initiated with a basket of some of the best rolls I had ever had. They were large, fluffy, and doughy with a hint of crispiness from a light toasting. We then shared the Veal and Beef Meatball, which was gigantic but still managed to have the ideal texture. It was also beautifully seasoned and served in what the chef called his "grandma's plum tomato sauce", which was divine! The sauce was thick and hearty, so when that was paired with pecorino cheese and basil oil, it really made for a fabulous dish. I even cut off a small piece to put inside my roll with a spoonful of sauce - chef's kiss! After that, we enjoyed some of the house-made pasta dishes, tasting each in a family-style format. The Squid Ink Bucatini was tossed with scallops, shrimp, and jumbo lump crab in a seafood tomato sauce. I did not love the briny finish to the sauce or that some of the scallops were chewy. The Tagliatelle with Duck Bolognese, tomatoes, and carrots was good, but I prefer my pomodoro sauce without the addition of a "light cream". Lastly, the special Spaghetti came with lobster, crab, and peas in vodka sauce. That one was definitely my favorite. While I do not love peas, the sauce was rich and flavorful. Across these last two dishes, I thought the pasta was a tad overcooked and could have been more al dente; the bucatini consistency was more inline with my preferences. Overall, I thought the food at Laboratorio Kitchen was above average, but that the service and atmosphere helped elevate the place. I would definitely consider going back to try some of their other dishes.

Despite us responding that we wanted to relax and have a drink before ordering our food, she was relentless in coming back to us. It got to the point where I thought she was going to pull up a chair and simply wait for us to give her our food order. She finally wore us down and we ordered a pizza, not because we were ready to order but simply to give us a chance to relax and enjoy our drinks. We ordered a pizza with Meatball and Extra Sauce. The Extra Sauce request was somehow misinterpreted as a cup of Marinara Sauce placed in the middle of the Pizza Pie. I kid you not - see attached photo. What most frustrated us however was that after coming to our table three times in five minutes to gather our food order, she apparently entered the Witness Protection Program once our Food Order was in. I had to track her down at one point after waiting about 10 or 15 minutes to order a second round of drinks. We also had the misfortune of sitting next to a rather loud foursome who spoke at a volume befitting a Prize Fight Announcer. Now, I understand an Establishment certainly can't ask a customer to lower their voice. But there were very few patrons in the dining room that night and we were seated amongst a cluster of tables while the vast remainder of the dining area remained open. I get that you don't want to seat people at opposite sides of the restaurant, but come on, you could have spaced us out a little better than that. Like other reviewers on here, I would agree the service is generally hit or mis. There have been occasions where our servers were attentive, courteous and accommodating. I can only attribute the inconsistency in service to a lack of training and supervision. Nevertheless, Maggie's remains one of my "go-to's" and I would recommend it to those who have yet to try.

The waitress was attentive but not overwhelming. The food was good. It was quick and they accommodated some special requests. We had steak quesadillas that came with a tangy side of onion salad. The portions were generous. Great for a quick afternoon bite.

The ambiance was lovely and the service was friendly and attentive. The tasting menu offered a choice of 2 options and consisted of 4 courses. They ran out of the lobster for a second course people seemed to enjoy and offered a cauliflower dish. When we explained that none of us were excited about cauliflower they offered us a tasty brioche toast with mushroom and chicken liver. The first course was yummy- a tofu with a crunchy chili and crispy veggies. Unfortunately the rest of the courses were bland and lackluster. The crudo with melon tasted fishy and the white fish did not work with the melon. The mains were just ok- we had the chicken and halibut. The desert was pretty good. The chef came by to say hello and asked how everything way- it was impossible to say delicious even though he seemed young and enthusiastic and I really wanted him to succeed.

Groovy Southern food meets refined semi-upscale downtown. What do we get?…read moreBreaded okra. Kiss my grits, but we aren't always talking BBQ when we're in the South. I've had me some soul food in Mississippi and 'Bama, though at a fraction of the price you get up North. Look, it's a Montclair thing. Pluses: Black owned restaurant serving cultural staples, plus foods for people who don't want Southern. Ambiance featured soul music, and at one point was playing Shaft! I can dig it. You're not left wanting for food quantity or quality. Plenty of shrimp in the grits, for example. Server was very pleasant to talk to with a little Southern twang to her voice. Why not five stars: Flavor needs deepening. For example, in the South I'm used to seeing okra chopped and breaded before being fried. Maybe more oily that way, more carbs... but more flavor as a result. I had the pulled chicken mac, which was a bit smaller of a dish overall (a bit intentional on my part) - and while the cheese flavors run deep, the meat did not. Shrimp and grits, I took a quick sample of my friend's grits and... I bet you can guess my finding there. Still, a very nice change from the usual Northern selection of foods. I would not hesitate to say Sweet T's is authentic and a nice visit if you're in town. You'll be paying a pretty penny wherever you eat, so you can tag this one on your list.

The wait staff was fantastic in waiting on us as well as offering us a seat immediately upon entry. There were many servers on the floor, availing if anyone needed anything. We mentioned it was our first time, the quality of explanation of the menu lacked. We didn't really understand or enjoy what we ate. Think it's important to mention we are both black women from the American South. Maybe we ordered wrong (which I don't believe in but .... I'll digress) Maybe it was a bad day Maybe I'll try again!! We'll see.
