Stumbled in here during one of the coldest days of the year, primarily just to warm up. Had no expectations because, like I said, it was cold, they were the closest place to take shelter and I saw a coffee bar. Anyway, since then I've been back 3 more times; once for breakfast and twice for brunch. And while I'm confessing, the two times for lunch were on subsequent days. Yeah, they're that good. Actually, their chicken salad on a croissant is the best I've ever had and in my advanced years I've had a crapload of chicken salad. The have a nice sized coffee bar, decorated beautifully with some pretty delicious looking pastries. I'm on an anti-sweet phase so I'm basing my opinion on only on appearance. Then there's a seating area when you can eat, served by a friendly attentive staff and an adjacent boutique area where you can purchase housewares, clothing and other cool stuff. I'm not in Maplewood all that often, generally when I'm shopping at the equally awesome City Workshop but when I do, I always make sure to hit up Perch. You should too. 1/2 star deduction because they don't offer fake sugar, just that Stevia crap which is gross. read more

I recently moved cross country to Maplewood. Early on I discovered this adorable shop that serves coffee and brunch on the weekends and has a wonderful assortment of goods for the home. They also have a wide variety of nonalcoholic spirits. I meet with other writing folks regularly on Thursday mornings. Imagine my delight when I found the perfect gift for my daughter's 36th birthday at perch. I'm a regular and in intended to stay that way. read more

Whenever I'm in Maplewood, I always stop into Perch Home. It's a quaint Cafe surrounded by beautiful merchandise (jewelry, apparel, home decor), historical furniture, and very good coffee. The wall frames and Christmas decorations are gorgeous and there are tables, with comfortable seating, on one end of the Cafe. I ordered the following: Matcha White Hot Chocolate (a traditional matcha latte blended with white chocolate sauce), Snickerdoodle Latte (A traditional latte, blended with brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla syrup). Both of these were served at the perfect temperature, were richly creamy, and served in large mugs. I also ordered a Carrot Cake Muffin and it was very good. It was moist, each forkful had a decent amount of walnuts, and the frosting was exquisite. Once you're finished with your food, don't forget to stroll through the entire cafe. Came here for the food, then found out that the kitchen already closed and is rarely open. I had a mocktail which was pretty good; unfortunately the pastry was dry, cold, and tasteless. If you treat this place more like a cafe, it will probably be much more to your liking than it was to me. read more

My fiance and I were out in Maplewood for the first time. It was a cold rainy day and we wanted to get coffee to warm up. The inside is nice and cozy. For the drinks I ordered an espresso latte and the cup was half full. For the price of the espresso latte, I would expect the cup to be full. Has the pleasure to attend an event at Perch Home and absolutely loved it! They have a good combination of shopping/coffee/sitting work area and spots open for events. My best friend hosted her baby shower and it was beyond perfect. The coffee spot was beautiful and the interior is well selected. Staff was polite and very helpful. I'm almost afraid to write this review because this is such a wonderful place I want to keep it for myself! But Perch Home continues to grow into a delightful jewel in Maplewood Village. The addition of the cafe is spot on! The menu is fresh and yummy and write in tune with the vibe of the store. Coffee bar! Non alcohol mocktails! Homebaked breads. Gelato bar. Everything looked beautiful and tasted better. We sat outside on a delightful patio. We had the sweet potato hash served in a cast iron skillet with home baked bread. Avocado BLT came with a yummy crisp fresh side salad. And the almond flour gluten free waffles were fantastic. There were many items I wanted to try. I will be back! Thank you!! Lovely stuff. Street sign pointed us to Xmas sale so we bought over $200 worth of stuff for $25. Can't beat it. Rest of store so pretty and laid out well. I saw something in the window that I really liked and wanted to check it out, and I wanted to support a local small business as I am a small business owner myself. I was with my son and we walked in. The shop is lovely with unique and beautiful items. However, there were literally three employees in the back gossiping and talking. There was no "welcome to Perch " or "let me know if you have any questions" or "let me know if we can help you." NOTHING. Not a hello.... nothing. I felt like I was a ghost or that they may have felt I wasn't good enough for them. It was just so weird. We were literally walking around the store for almost 10 minutes. I saw beautiful things that I could have or may have bought however you have to be welcoming. You have to care for your customers.
