I love exploring cafes to work/study from! Whisk It All is a local family-owned bakery and cafe. It's easy to miss since it's on a quiet residential street in Glen Ridge. There's free street parking right up front. I've been here twice and both visits were positive experiences. The cafe is small, but cozy. The greenery and natural lighting make it a welcoming space to meet up with a friend over coffee and pastries or to study. There's a few tables, a couch, and stool seating facing the window. There's also free wifi and outlets. The tables are on the smaller side and the cafe isn't that big, so it's probably not best for large groups. Their menu is simple and a bit limited. Honestly... I prefer it that way! They have your core espresso drinks and a few paninis and croissant sandwiches. They bake their own pastries fresh on the premises. I recommend trying their cookies - they are huge, soft, and chewy! They also specialize in custom cakes for special occasions. Everything is reasonably priced. Baristas are sweet and efficient. They make some tasty iced lattes! The espresso is strong, but not too bitter. It has just the right balance of coffee and milk. I recently tried the Ham Solo sandwich ($10) which included scrambled egg, ham, cheddar, and avocado on a croissant with a side of chips. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't order it again. The egg was dry and the ham and cheese tasted like those cheap, pre-sliced ones from grocery stores. If I lived closer, I could see myself stopping by more often. Cute little cafe tucked away on a quiet block where you wouldn't actually expect it to be. I stopped in since they are bakery as I was looking for a birthday cake yet they don't carry the cakes in the actual cafe and they must be ordered 2 weeks in advance on their website. The barista was working by herself but handling business and she made my coffee perfectly, I'd stop back in for a coffee or a pastry since it's close to my nail shop. read more

The verdict is still out. I walked in today in a rather bright colored sweatshirt and had to stand and wait while the counter person completed a personal conversation with assumably a patron. He did not address me for a couple of minutes. Strange but we will see. I've also been there when one of the owners was present very nice environment. read more

Brown sugar chai was amazing!!! I asked the ladies for their recommendation on what flavor chai to get and was beyond happy with with my order! Service was great! Both ladies behind the counter had smiles and were friendly. Cute spot to stop by and grab a quick bite or drink! read more

This place was so cute! Love all the plants and cute Knick knacks! I would love to study here as there are a few tables with outlets also it's super quiet! Their espresso tasted sooooooo good. It was so nice and strong without being too bitter. I got a latte with Uber and it was amazing! I definitely need to go back. Also had a cookie croissant and it was the best one I had by far. They make everything daily and fresh! I would recommend the service were so nice too! read more

Whisk it all is a nice and cozy little bake shop! It's got the classic coffee shop vibes, and their food is always made fresh and delicious! I found out about this bakery because it was right across the street from the restaurant I was having my baby shower at. We decided to order a cake from them since prices were pretty reasonable. On the day of, we also tried their ube matcha lattes, and it was a nice pick me up to have while setting up for the shower. Drink prices are also very reasonable! They don't offer cake delivery but since the restaurant was right across, they offered to walk the cake over for us. I worked directly with Melanie and she was very graceful with accepting all of my changes (i.e. switching to a bigger cake, and changing flavors). They have a lot of different cake filling and flavor combinations and can suggest combos that will go well together. We ended up picking an ube cake (first bakery I've seen to offer an ube cake!) with cannoli filling. I wish it had more chocolate chips, but it was still very good - and not too sweet. Stopped in before heading to the Glen Ridge train station and what a great choice! My large group got a variety of coffees, teas, baked good and sandwiches. All were fresh and really delicious! I have been here several times and the food is always delicious and the coffee is just the way I like it. I love the decor and the service is friendly and enthusiastic. They also make beautiful custom cakes. Two suggestions, open earlier for the early commuters and offer an alternative to the potato chips such as fresh fruit. Amazing cafe! Fresh ingredients the sandwiches are delicious and you can't go wrong with ANY dessert! If you dont drink coffee plzzz get the chai or matcha you wont regret it. Super friendly staff. The owner bakes everything fresh, which is awesome. The chocolate croissant was really good. Little known fact, many bakeries and coffee shops have their baked goods shipped in by a 3rd party kitchen that bakes/delivers a generic product early in the morning, i.e., they're not actually baked by the bakery itself, but purchased from a giant distributing bakery. Not Whisk It All - I was excited to learn that the owners bake almost everything themselves. They also make custom cakes, which look cool. Lovely new little coffee shop in the center of Glen Ridge, behind the Glen Ridge Arcade and across from Fitzgerald's restaurant. A coffee-snob friend rates the cappuccino as A-. They offer several panini and pastries, including a "croffle," a croissant pressed in a waffle iron. There are a few tables and good Wi-Fi, so you can work here, too, although it can get a bit noisy. Lots of street parking, at least on weekends. read more
